Vacation rentals with a kayak in Northeastern United States

I had a peaceful and restorative stay here. We stayed in April and despite being stuck inside due to bad weather we enjoyed the cottage immensely. The place is perfectly sized for 2 people or more. It is quiet but still close to great restaurants and everything else the cape has to offer. Would stay again.

Jacqualine’s place feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s HOME. Great quality furniture, linens, towels, kitchen essentials, etc. — not just a rental filled with inexpensive furniture and supplies. Beautiful wide windows in the living space that look out at the river. Sturdy dock that was perfect for our kids to swim off of. Private parking with space to turn around so you’re not backing out onto a busy street. Plenty of spots to view amazing sunsets. The list of positives could go on…. Located in a quiet village with a pub, small market, coffee shop and a few boutiques, it’s a great location to set up home base if you want to be within easy driving distance (+/- 25min) of more touristy towns like Clayton and Alexandria Bay but still have some peace and quiet on the river.

The place was so cozy and perfect for our family. The kids enjoyed fishing in the afternoon and making s’mores by the fire. We will be staying here again. Thanks again for hosting us.

Daniela’s place was beyond our expectations! The grounds were beautiful and the house was spotless. We were traveling with our baby and the home provided a pack n play and a high chair, as well as tons of books and some toys which all made our lives so much easier! The beds were so comfortable and all of the amenities were amazing. We visited in more of the off season and we still had the most amazing time. We hope to come back with friends and family!

Susan was the manager, but the “real” hosts were the owners, Brenda and Mike. Just really friendly, kind, helpful and down to earth. Felt absolutely at home. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with all sorts of condiments and spices. I promise you won’t be needing anything. Lots of nice clean dishes, appliances, etc. The place itself is outstanding in its location on the waters edge. The WiFi isn’t maybe the most reliable with a full house, but it’s adequate. Besides, LOOK at the photos, it’s stunning on the pond.

The home was very welcoming and accommodating for our family of 5. The views were spectacular at sunrise, sunset and during the snowstorm. Bald Eagles and hawks would land in the trees right in front of the house. Also, there was a skating pond down the street my family love to visit almost each evening. There was an alarm going off as soon as we arrived, Debbi was incredibly fast responding and sending someone to check it out clear it up. On the plus someone came and plowed the driveway after the snowstorm it was great. She left a basket of local food and my family ate it up. We are so thankful for our relaxing week and would love to return.

We had an awesome stay at this cozy, comfortable cottage—perfect for two families after a full day on the slopes. Every afternoon, we came back to the quiet and warmth of the cabin, made great meals in the super-cute kitchen, built a fire in the wood stove, and played board games around the big table. The kids loved the bunk room (especially having their own book lights!), and everything was easy to find and use. The shower was great, the space was inviting and there were many thoughtful touches such as plenty of hooks for hanging ski gear! We really appreciated how the family updated the cabin while keeping its historic charm. Such a great spot—would absolutely stay again! Thanks for making us feel so welcomed and comfortable!

Leah and Johnny's Guest House is a MUST stay if it is available during a trip to The County or anywhere close by! The location is amazing but the hosts offer such genuine kindness that you immediately feel like family. They went above and beyond with everything! This spot is a little slice of heaven on earth. Absolutely loved our stay at this charming cottage! The secluded location made it the perfect getaway for relaxing, and the surroundings were stunning—especially at this time of year. Very responsive host, easy to communicate with! When something is missed by the cleaner, frank was able to help us with solution. The place is very quiet and peaceful, very recommend for small families.

What a great location for a cottage! The included boats (canoes & kayaks) are really nice. We went in late October (end of the season) and the neighborhood was nearly deserted. We were often the only people out on the lake. It takes about 20-25 minutes to paddle over to one of the several waterfront restaurants in Port Severn. Trevor's communications were very precise and easy to follow. Only negative comment concerns the well water. It's not just high in minerals, it is so high in minerals that it smells terrible and you really don't want to shower in it.

Le chalet est impeccable, bien situé, et offre une ambiance paisible. Les enfants ont adoré le pédalo, et nous avons aussi beaucoup profité du feu sur le deck en écoutant de la musique. Nous avons adoré ce chalet situé dans un lieu calme, paisible, beau. Le logement était très bien équipé (nous avons même trouvé un adaptateur alors que nous n'avions pas pris le nôtre). Le parking devant le chalet n'est pas accessible sans voiture adaptée à cette période de l'année, comme nous l'a indiqué l'hôte, nous nous sommes garés facilement sur la route très proche du logement.

A dream rustic cottage space! This location is wonderful, thoughtfully set up and run. With many sweet and homey details throughout the space and hosts (Darrnel and Mike), are genuinely welcoming and thoughtful. This gem is very family friendly with an all around feel good atmosphere. Our large family enjoyed the humble lakeside access and nearby waterfall.

We loved the cabin and can't wait to return. Everything was in great working order and squicky clean. Our stay was an absolute pleasure.

This place was a perfect get away for me and my husband to celebrate his birthday. He loves to fish- so the private lake just steps away was perfect. It is so peaceful and beautiful and the home is simple but perfect. Appreciate the nice gift basket of goodies/ coffee and creamer and disposable cups! Dennis was super helpful and answered me promptly! We will definitely return- next time for longer!

Beautiful place me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday we had the best time! Brandi had the space nice and clean when we got there. She is has excellent response time and is very friendly. The cabin itself was amazing the view was incredible! being able to go out and kayak was amazing. The perfect get away for you and your partner! we will definitely be back!

The location couldn’t have been better, with the river right in front of the house, making for a truly relaxing experience. The master bedroom’s balcony overlooking the river was the perfect spot to unwind. On top of that, the host was super friendly and always available. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it!

We had a different reservation fall through and Jennifer and Ian graciously accepted our last minute reservation request. They even took the time to double check the property before we got there. The property was amazing! Location was peaceful, right on the river. The house was the perfect balance of cozy, rustic charm and modern conveniences. Bathrooms spotless and updated. Kitchen, while not updated, lacked for nothing. The oversized sofas were perfect for snuggling up on. And the screened front porch! OMG! Absolutely perfect! Spent each morning listening to nature wake up as the sun rose over the mountain while I drank my coffee. Mental refresh! Easy drive to town and hiking. Can fish right from private dock. Would highly recommend this property. Considering coming back later in the year with the whole family.
