Vacation rentals with lake access in Greene County

Fantastic stay and wonderful hosts! Convenient location to historic Monticello, wineries, and downtown Charlottesville. The hosts were very helpful with local recommendations and were quick to respond. The house was spotless and clean, and had the perfect amenities for a weekend trip. Would highly recommend!

I had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving stay in Culpepper! The accommodations were exactly as described and made me feel right at home. The house was modern, spotless, and incredibly welcoming, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. Everything about my visit exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciated the care and attention to detail, and friendliness from the hosts. I look forward to staying here again the next time I’m in the area!

Beautiful setting in the country on the mountain! Tons of amenities and house well stacked with paper products, coffee, recreational equipment, bedding, towels and wash clothes, cleaning supplies, and so much more!!!! Very animal friendly to include sheep/goats on property, roster and chickens near by, and two friendly neighborhood dogs that stop by to visit. House had plenty of room for 5 children, 4 adults, and two small dogs. The interior and outside of house is clean. House is off the main roads down an approximately 3 mile gravel/dirt road and is secluded; definitely have groceries and no less than half a tank of gas.

We stayed at Kristin’s home for a Thanksgiving get away. The home was exactly as listed, cozy and comfortable! The side yard and fenced in deck were very convenient for our dog. The kitchen was very well stocked, and Kristin even ordered a griddle for us when I inquired about one before our stay. Kristin was responsive to our needs and questions and even surprised us by decorating the house for the holidays. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is incredible. Was the perfect size for many couples, the roof was a lovely spot to gather, and the rooms were all truly spacious and well-decorated. The views from the room and back decks were also spectacular. On top of everything, Lisa was so kind and responsive. If you need a home to house a good amount of people in Charlottesville that’s centrally located, this spot can’t be beat.

Peter’s Hazel River house was a fantastic place to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The home and setting are gorgeous. There was plenty of space for 8 adults. The house was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The ping pong table was a nice touch. We held a hard fought tournament on Saturday night after cooking a feast in the spacious and well stocked kitchen. While nice and secluded down a quiet country road, we were also a mere 10-15 minute ride from great restaurants and markets and beautiful hiking trails in SNP. Thank you for sharing your home Peter, we would love to visit again!

We take a traditional fall trip with the same group of friends and all loved/rated the cabin as one of our best memories and experiences ever. The living spaces were comfortable and relaxing and views just amazing. Although remote enough to feel like a quiet get away there were plenty of interesting wineries and activities in the area. We loved sitting to enjoy the views on the porches and making meals in the well appointed kitchen. A perfect stay and home - so grateful for our hosts to share their home.

What an amazing weekend getaway with my friends! This is a beautiful house with an even more gorgeous view of the river. There were practically no neighbors, and in the morning all you could hear were the birds in the trees and the cows on the other side of the river. This is an idyllic and peaceful place to relax and get away from the worries of the world. I will definitely be going here again!

Amazing area! Everyone we came across was nice and friendly! The cats were so beautiful and nice! They walked us around the entire area like little body guards. The room was very clean and linen soft and clean. Bathroom was amazing! Overall a 10/10! Will definitely be returning and suggesting this lovely location to friends and family!

Overall our stay was great and value for the money was outstanding. Only thing I’d say is the ceiling fan was really dusty but pretty understandable. This place is still great value for the money and everything else was great, from the check in, communication and everything was functional to include the jacuzzi tub which was a great plus. We’d definitely stay here again. We didn’t really use any of the amenities as we had a busy itinerary before arriving. We spent our time driving skyline drive and visiting wineries in the area and it was a great few days. Thanks David!

Second stay here and couldn’t love it more!! After we checked out of Ann’s place, we went to another AirBnb (as we had a bunch of family coming into town and needed a bigger place)….it doesn’t even compare!! Ann’s place is always so clean and lovely and this new place is a reminder of how fortunate we are to have found our lovely, CLEAN, escape in the beautiful VA country! Will be back around graduation time! I miss it already!!

What an interesting and wonderful resort! Very unique!!! We loved our stay!!! We wished TV stand was little higher, as it’s lower than the bed and not easy to watch while you’re laying on the bed, however this didn’t effect our stay, and we had a lovely time! Loved walking around and exploring the area! Very cozy studio, enjoyed the hot tub… thanks!!

We loved this cozy and comfy apartment--it was so beautifully decorated and had a great view of the lake; we also really appreciated having the opportunity to enjoy such a nice space with our dog...everything was thought of for guests to stay and we would definitely recommend if you are visiting Culpeper!

We enjoyed our late fall stay at the cabin. It's fairly close to Shenandoah (took about an hour to get to some of the trails in the southern end of the park), and close to several good wineries as well. Make sure you have the name of your cabin and directions accessible if you're arriving in the dark! Gas fireplace and space heaters kept the place warm on cold nights. The kitchen is fairly decent, but plan to bring everything you need in terms of essentials (oil, etc) and any cookware beyond the very basics--as you'd expect for any AirBnb. Nice little place for a couple's getaway for a weekend.

Taby's place is in a beautiful, peaceful setting. It is a great location to explore the Shenandoah Valley. Taby greeted us upon arrival, provided great recommendations about the local attractions, and was very responsive when we had questions. The place was a nice, ground-level studio with a comfortable bed, nice kitchen space and comfortable sitting area. We recommend Taby's place!

This comfy little cottage in the woods was a perfect place to enjoy peace & quiet. The bed was very nice, linens were great, views were lovely. As it was described it is a bit small, but a gem and so very worth the price and time to get there. If you like the sound of a wooded wonderland you will love this spot. Also enjoyed the many trails with our pup. Didn't have a chance to get on the lake, but will be coming back to do that. Leora and all the resort management folks were extremely responsive and friendly and helpful. This would be so nice a place for a family to spend special times with the kids, and pets love it, too.

Our stay was amazing. We booked , not knowing it would be the coldest weekend this fall season. The house was cozy, extremely clean, and looks exactly like the online pictures. We didn't get to enjoy all the amenities but we did try the games and outdoor seating during the day. Inside the house we found all we needed. We loved the electric fireplace and used a few of the host recommended restaurants. Overall, a wonderful stay. We are already discussing a return.

What a perfect place for a getaway! If you're looking for a cute little cabin that has everything you'll need to feel at home, this is it. Cabin #3 has a direct trail to the lake and it's very convenient to have have a parking spot right by the porch. Bring some charcoal if you like to grill! Small touches like toiletries, cleaning products in the kitchen, and a pet cover for the futon are very thoughtful. 100% would book this again in a heartbeat!

Exactly what we wanted and needed!

The cabin was clean and cozy. The scenery outside was amazing! My family had a nice time hiking around and canoeing in the lake around all of the Lilly pads. Great place!

Accommodations were exactly as described. The surroundings are incredible and the view from the deck is lovely. Marc’s cabin is welcoming, carefully decorated, and fully stocked for a pleasant stay. The upstairs bedroom is a little small but perfectly suitable and the bed it’s really comfortable. Mark was always responsive and very polite. Highly recommended!
