Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Greene County

Great stay in an extremely well-organized spacious and clean place in a very peaceful location among several farms (quite dark at night for excellent star-gazing)…yet only minutes from numerous restaurants and stores, and a half-hour to a Shenandoah Nat’l Park entrance and the Appalachian Trail. Adam and Lynn were super friendly, responsive and overall superb communicators (very helpful and much appreciated!). The gift donuts and wine were a beautiful touch. Very highly recommend this cabin and Lynn and Adam as hosts!

We enjoyed another stay at the House in the Holla, which was the perfect home base for our days spent hiking in Shenandoah National Park (the house is just a short drive from the Swift Run Gap entrance station). As we have during previous stays we especially enjoyed sitting by the creek with our coffee in the mornings and sitting around the fire pit at night. Our pup loved having the yard to explore. The house was equipped with everything we needed.

My friends and I only stayed one night after a long day of hiking at Old Rag. It was so nice to be able to relax and unwind in this cute and comfortable space. It was equipped with coffee, tea and snacks - and the sauna was an extra bonus for our sore muscles! We would love to visit again to enjoy the beautiful surroundings more.

Anna was a great host and location was perfect for our weekend trip filled with hiking. Highly recommend!

Super enjoyed our stay! We had a much needed time to relax and slow down. The kids enjoyed the amenities a lot! (Especially the kids at heart haha) House was a little hard to find since we checked in late and its super dark in the area obviously haha! But that wasn’t an issue. One thing tho, I wish they labeled the switches cuz we don’t know half of what they turned on.

The house was very comfortable for our family gathering. This was really appreciated when the rain and fog kept us inside for much of the time instead of venturing out to explore Sky Line Drive as we had planned. Mike was very quick to respond with helpful suggestions when we encountered a hiccup with plumbing. Thank you, Mike!

We recently got married at Moss Vineyards and had the pleasure of staying at the Moss Airbnb during our wedding week which was super convenient! Ellen was very responsive and very proactive in communicating key details like the check-in process and temperature control info. The house was spacious and very clean, and included many conveniences like coffee creamer, makeup remover, etc. They thought of everything! We used the Airbnb as the getting-ready area for the bridal party the day of our wedding and it worked out perfectly. Maybelle's market is just a few minutes away for great sandwiches and snacks. Would definitely recommend the Moss Airbnb for anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, private getaway in the mountains.

My son and I traveled from South Carolina to Pennsylvania. This time of year with day shorter did not want to make the drive ending in darkness so we stayed over at Lawrence‘s place. We did not want a sterile motel room, but needed to separate rooms to sleep in I am an experienced Airbnb user since 2018 in the US and in Ireland. Lawrence‘s place is in the top five! My son was amazed about how complete everything was. We wanted for nothing. His kitchen is fully stocked and if you needed something, I’m sure he would provide it. We did not have to go out for breakfast. Lauren provided what we needed. In fact it was hard to make up our mind! Everything was provided in the bathroom, even feminine products for the ladies! That I have never seen before, so kudos to Lawrence! The location was was very quiet, wooded with a private field to it. We briefly met Lawrence on our way to dinner and he mentioned the restaurant we were going to based on his recommendation and it was fantastic.

Staying at Bianca’s place was extremely good experience! She was very friendly and communicative since we arrived , during the staying and also when we left the house! House was very test fully decorated, very clean and practical ! Very good location and peaceful! I would like to thank Bianca for hosting us! After all very good experience!

Ruthann is responsive and lovely. Her place was clean and the property is beautiful. She gives you space if you desire so you can enjoy the place. There were little snacks out that were helpful and the kitchen had everything you need. What a lovely and serene spot!

This place was perfect for our family. Exactly what you are hoping for from an Airbnb, as opposed to a hotel. The apartment was very clean, well organized, and just as advertised. Most importantly, it felt like a home. Our toddler loved all the toys and we loved how kid-friendly it was. Would absolutely recommend.

A perfect weekend getaway! The space was PRISTINE, easy instructions to get in, wonderful recommendations for the surrounding area, and overall one of the best stays I’ve had in Harrisonburg!!

Such a great place to stay. We were impressed the whole time and they were very detailed about how to get to the location. It was very clean and comfortable. So grateful for the opportunity to stay there.

We have stayed at this property several times over the past few years and can't say enough good things about it! It feels like home; it's cozy, comfortable and well-equipped. We visit Gordonsville often to see family, but I can honestly say that even if we didn't have family there we would still want to visit Gordonsville. It's such a charming, bucolic little town with lots of great dining and fun shops, and it's within a short drive of many wineries.

Enjoyed staying at Eric’s place with my friends. Felt right at home with the clean and spacious living room and bedrooms. If looking for a two bedroom place near Harrisonburg, would recommend! Beautiful Mountain View’s as well.

Have stayed here multiple times now but this visit was specifically for my daughter and son in law to enjoy a babymoon getaway. The river is easily accessible so they floated in tubes one day and took their canoe out another. They were able to take their dog as it is dog friendly. They grilled out and enjoyed the beautiful decks around the home. Resturant suggestions were layed out with local menus as well as local attractions. Luray Caverns is close by, Cooters, from Dukes of Hazards store serves a great lunch, and the drive and scenery all around is incredible. Sharon is the best host and always available by text or phone for questions. Check in and out were simple.

This was our second stay in this condo and we love the location and spaciousness. We have family nearby and easily met up on the mall for numerous outings. One small suggestion: Housekeeping may need to communicate better with management. We arrived to a sink that was clogged. But it was fixed very quickly, so was not an issue.

We wanted a quiet place away to enjoy nature. This was perfect. A few miles from great waterfall hiking…white Oak Canyon in SNP. We enjoy birding and found there was a great variety of birds to be heard. The leaves were pretty full on the trees, so viewing them was the challenge. We enjoyed the deck for birding right at the rental! We had three couples, a fourth invited but unable to come, so every couple had their own space. We prepared all our food, and the kitchen had a lot of space, and modestly stocked with utensils, etc. Being older our caloric needs were not much, so we did not feel we could eat our moneys worth at the restaurant. We really enjoyed the live music in the serene setting on Fri eve. We enjoyed watching the storm pass through Sat eve and the rainbow that formed.

Isaac's place, just a block from the Downtown Mall, was the perfect spot for our family on our recent long weekend! Thanks so much for a great stay!

Would definitely stay here again. Very comfortable accommodations and easily walkable to football stadium. Jake was very responsive and always very quick to respond.

We had so much fun staying at Shelby and Katherine’s place in Massanutten Resort! It was really nice to have an entire apartment with kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Makes for traveling with kids so much easier! The place was well maintained and had beautiful views of the mountains. We loved the indoor pools and the water park. The water park was probably my daughter’s favorite part of the whole trip. So nice to have it just a few minutes away. We went during February so it wasn’t crowded at all, which was really nice when dealing with two small children. The ski resort looked great but with kids wasn’t in the cards for us! Can’t wait to return, really nice vacation!

Charming! The place sits above the downtown mall in Charlottesville which means you have ready access to restaurants and shopping. Easy access to the rest of Charlottesville depending on what you are in town for. Parking is slightly challenging, but Melissa gave great advice that we followed and we had no problems. Since the location is above active night life, it can get a little bit noisy on a Friday night, but not too bad and she provided noise canceling devices which we didn't use or fee like we needed. Overall this was a great place with room to spread out and all the amenities we could have wanted.
