Casa Arka | Jungle Palace with Chef & Butler

DavidRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Casa Arka was unbelievable as it’s even better in person than the pictures!! Luis the butler was great and there to help with whatever you needed. Lara the concierge also helped me tremendously plan multiple dinners and transportation for 30+ people! I can’t recommend this place enough!! Also definitely make sure you rent a car as it is down dirt roads and nothing is in walking distance

Villa Turquesa

GilRating, 5 stars46 months ago
Casa Turquesa was beautiful inside and out. It is part of a safe, 24/7 guarded, beachfront community. The service was great as well. Made you feel like you were in a hotel. Fully stocked home with all the amenities including washer/dryer, multiple outdoor showers, 2 pools, spacious rooms and a delicious fruit basket with an assortment of local fruits. Pool clearers and Housekeeping kept the pools and home clean everyday, including making the beds, it was not just a “refresher” like some hotels do. Located next to Quinta Ave and beachfront you get the best of both worlds. Easy access to multiple restaurants, bars, clubs, and shopping. Private beach access, and friendly neighbors. Definitely made our stay in Cancun amazing. Would recommend 10 out of 10

Beachfront, 12BR, Private Chef, Pool Villa Lol-Beh

JasonRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We brought a group of 12 for a company retreat and had an incredible time! The listing photos don’t do the property justice. We had a late season storm, but despite some intermittent wind and rain, we thoroughly enjoyed the property and the beach (no seaweed issue!). The staff (chef, housekeepers, grounds people, concierge) were 10/10!! The chef’s food was wonderful. We also got the bartenders on the first night, and they were also amazing! We’ll likely be back!

All about Playa del Carmen

Planning a vacation in Playa del Carmen

Referred to by locals simply as “Playa”, Playa del Carmen is all about beautiful beaches, buzzy nightlife, and lush landscapes. Situated on the strip of Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula known as the Riviera Maya, overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Playa del Carmen has a reputation as a stylish destination. No wonder, as its compact downtown full of shops, bars, and restaurants make this town the ideal choice for a memorable vacation. Playa’s cobbled main street, Quinta Avenida, or Fifth Avenue, is the epicenter of life in the town both day and night and is a great spot for people-watching.

Playa del Carmen is easily accessible from either Cancun Airport, which is approximately 45 minutes away by car, or from the much smaller Cozumel Airport, which is a 45-minute journey by ferry from the island of Cozumel. Visitors to Playa del Carmen can expect pleasant temperatures all year round, but the town is at its best in late spring, when the beaches are quietest. Hurricane season lasts from June to September, so if you’re planning to travel during this period be sure to check the forecast.

Marvel at the magnificent Chichen Itza

Although Chichen Itza is a two-hour drive inland from Playa del Carmen, it is well worth the trip to see the remains of what was once one of the greatest Mayan cities on the Yucatan peninsula. Archaeologists believe that the rise of Chichen Itza as a major power started around 600 A.D. and continued until the 13th century when the Maya revolted against the rulers of Chichen Itza. Fortunately, the site has been very well preserved and provides an excellent insight into how the Mayan and Toltec people saw the world. The major monuments include the Pyramid of Kukulkan, known as El Castillo, which is a temple dedicated to the feathered serpent god Kukulkan; the Interior Temple, which is home to King Kukulkan’s jaguar throne, and the Great Ballcourt, which is one of the largest, most impressive, and best-preserved courts for playing the Mesoamerican ballgame in the whole of Central America.

Explore bohemian Tulum

Located a little off the beaten path around an hour’s drive south of Playa del Carmen, Tulum is a laid-back, hippie-ish little town which makes for a great day trip destination. Like many towns on the Yucatan peninsula, Tulum has its share of Mayan ruins – the difference here is that Tulum’s ruins boast an unrivaled location overlooking the jade waters of the Caribbean Sea, and have over recent years become one of Mexico’s most emblematic images. Tulum is also home to the beautiful Paradise Beach, which is undeniably deserving of its moniker. Powdery white sands, picture-perfect palm trees, and crystal clear waters make this the archetypal tropical utopia.
