Family-friendly vacation rentals in Monterey

We came here with our dog and had a great time! The place was comfortable, clean, and great backyard with a hot tub, just as advertised. Loved the neighborhood. It's super close the beach and within walking distance to a few really good places to eat. Shyamal was easy to communicate with and a great host. Instructions were very clear.

Tammy’s place is a wonderful home to stay at while visiting the area. It is comfortable and clean with plenty of room for several people. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and close to everything. The backyard is very inviting and the hot tub is a nice perk. Tammy provided clear instructions and was responsive. Highly recommend!

House was beautiful inside and out. Garden and back deck were great in the morning for breakfast. Quiet area. Beds were comfy and the place was clean, rooms were large. Thank you Sun for a great place.

You will not regret staying here. Debra and David were so incredibly nice. The house and the outdoors/garden are beautiful. We loved the hot tub being off the master suite and the fact there are no neighbors so it’s incredibly quiet. It’s in a great location near both downtown and the fairgrounds. We can’t wait to return. We might need to add more nights because we had such a fantastic time. Thanks Debra. So great to meet you and David!!

What a GEM this house is!!! You will not be disappointed staying at Shari's home! From the great communication & responsive host ... to the welcoming cookies... to the private adorable backyard and extensive amenities ... it has it ALL! Great location all around and just a short walk to the beach too! We will definitely be back!

The cottage was a perfect size and quiet. Erin was helpful and quickly responded to questions.

Joyce’s place was clean and had a really great location. We thought we were right on the Cliff so that was kind of a bummer to have a house in front of our ocean view. But the place was really nice, and very clean! The space was really cool and had great decoration. Beds were comfortable. Kids were happy. We loved playing in the hot tub and in the garden in the backyard.

Amazing place, wish we could have stayed longer! We couldn't wait to run down to the beach (pretty sure we made it there in less than 28 seconds 😉) Very clear instructions with pictures to find the place which I greatly appreciated (our last airbnb gave us the wrong address). The view from the living room is beautiful and so cozy next to the fireplace. We saw lots of sea lions, dolphins and a whale! Everything is nicely labeled with clear instructions. Spent most of our time on the sand but when it got dark, the workout mirror and 3D tv are very fun. Comfy beds. Aquarium passes were a nice bonus too!

This was the most peaceful and beautiful space I have ever been to. The view from the balcony was gorgeous. All the greenery and the deers and random dog was super gorgeous and felt really at home. The hot tub was amazing and super relaxing. Robert was very kind and responsive, Received a phone call about all the lights, hot tub, close trails, and recommended spots!! Super helpful and very kind gesture. Would 100% go back to this place

We had a wonderful short getaway at Sue’s place! The condo is just steps from the beach, pool, and jacuzzi. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was relaxing, and the ocean breeze was very refreshing. It was exactly what we needed to reset and recharge. Everything was just as described, and we would stay here again! Thank you, Sue!

My stay in Amy's home was relaxing, peaceful and comfortable. I loved the location - nested against the hills and so close to shops/restaurants. I loved walking the hills in the neighborhood and coming back to a quiet and comfortable space. You are in the backyard of the owners but they are friendly and respectful and the setting is idyllic.

Fantastic location and home for a family get-away. Much to see and do on site and in the local area. The home is very comfortable and welcoming with all the amenities you might need and more. Can’t wait to book again!

Himani was super sweet! She made sure she was available when we arrived to give us the keys then gave us a run down of the place. My husband and I stayed with our friend and her fiancé so it was perfect as there were 2 private bedrooms, each with a private entrance outside. Each couple had our own half restroom and shared a shower, so if you don’t mind that, this place is perfect! Super close to Capitola and seascape resort where we attended a wedding.

Staying at Seascape was the perfect kid-friendly vacation. The pool was easy to access from our condo and the views were beautiful. The condo's set-up with two bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and a half bath downstairs was great for our family of 5. The private beach was beautiful - we saw otters, whales, and my son found two perfect sand dollars walking down the beach. It was a little bit of a trek to get down to the beach with three little kids and all the beach gear, but once we were there no one wanted to leave. Several near-by restaurants were delicious, especially the newly opened Dos Pescados. It was fairly easy to get into Santa Cruz too, but we did have to time traffic or it would double the drive time (to almost 45 minutes).

We loved every moment spent in this house ,especially the cats , the house was very comfortable, clean and cozy, I would definitely recommend this house .

Love the house, very spacious , nice garden. Very unique place, super cool collection of toys. Would definitely stay there again.

This was our best Airbnb experience by far. The home was clean and it had everything a family with little ones need! Our kids loved the play area in the back patio and we felt right at home. Host was super attentive and responsive and you could feel the host’s thoughtfulness and consideration of their guests in the set up and management of the home. If we come back to the area in the future we would love to stay in one of their homes!

We had a great stay this past weekend. The house was nicely updated and wonderfully equipped for anything you might need for a beach vacation. It was very thoughtfully decorated and comfortable. They even provided dog bowls, treats and waste bags. The outdoor area had ample seating and was a great space for a dog sniffari and the humans to hang out. It’s a short walk to the beach and Harbor Cafe which has a great brunch menu. Would gladly stay here again.

We wish we had longer to stay here! Everything was as described and it was a perfect place for us to spend the night. Check in was smooth and Dennis was very kind and quick to respond when we ran into trouble. They had a lot of cooking supplies and everything was clean and ready to use. There’s a Whole Foods about 15 minutes drive away.

I’ve stayed at many places. I can honestly say this home was one of my favorites. Absolutely everything you want and need PLUS MORE. The hammock outside was just what we needed after a long day at the beach. Everything was basically spotless. If you’re looking for a relaxing beach house to stay at, I can’t recommend this one enough. 10/10. I would definitely come back.

This house was great for our family of four. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was well equipped, and the outside area gave the kids a nice place to play. Our toddler especially enjoyed the Thomas train set in his room! This is a lovely area of Santa Cruz too - easy walk to the beach and Boardwalk.

Chris has such a lovely home, and all small details that make a home cozy, were there and made staying at her home feel as a second home away from home. She also very wonderful host and highly recommend staying at her place.

Loved the place! Enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast and the kids loved watching the chickens. Comfy home to stay in, felt like home.
