Cottage vacation rentals in Malibu

This is our 3rd time staying at Joseph & Kelly’s place! It is always a pleasure! They make you feel right at home and are willing to help with any need! We love this place and plan to return very soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at Dana's cottage. It was very clean and comfortable with a kichen that had everything we needed to cook great meals. The neighbors were friendly and it was in a great location for enjoing all Ventura and the surrounding area has to offer!

We had a wonderful stay! The location was amazing—peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful, tranquil yard. Connie was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout. We truly loved our time there and would absolutely return!

This place is so beautiful, quiet, secluded and magical! It's about 12 minutes drive from the town of Pearblossom which is very small. It's a small gates area with only a few houses around, but we havn't seen anyone while we stayed there. It's 9 minutes walk from a natural park called "the devil's punch bowl" where you can hike and climb on rocks. We enjoyed it very much with our kids and dog. The house is great! It has lots of bedrooms and beds, fully stocked kitchen (very old appliances but they work), 2 fireplaces, many TV's, awesome play room and a wonderful Jacuzzi (strong jets). We spent time hiking, bathing, playing pool, watching movies and eating. This is a perfect place to check out from the world and enjoy family time. I will also mention that if you go outside early, you will see a few dears! There's a grocery store about 12 minutes drive, we brought a lot of food with us. Wonderful experience!

MK is a fantastic host! Her place is in a wonderful, central location that allows you to easily get around LA which is saying a lot as LA can be a tough city to get around in. The home matched the description and photos. MK was very accommodating, flexible, kind, and responsive - thank you for a great stay!

This was our third trip to Darrell’s place in 2 1/2 years. We just can’t get enough! Each trip we add another night to our stay. We’re already checking our schedule for a trip back in October! This guest house is a tiny home, packed full of everything you need. We enjoyed cooking on the little two burner stove top, extra blankets for lounging around on the outdoor bed, mini fridge holds a lot, toaster oven, space heater for the chilly evenings, tv with cable and WiFi. Our favorite thing about this place is the feeling we get when we’re here. We’re instantly at peace. It’s calm and serene. We enjoyed working on crafts at the picnic table under the trees, listening to the deep wind chimes resonate throughout the property. Birds and other wild life are active and brought life to the experience as well as the flow of the many water falls. Darrell is really friendly, and generous. We’re so grateful that he offers this space to us to rent. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had the BEST time at Chase’s place. We loved the island itself, but felt very lucky to find such a fun and personable place that was full of character and wonderful amenities. We loved the hot tub, the beach items, the games, the office capabilities, the yoga items, the great water pressure, and on and on. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Chase!

Let’s just say we didn’t want to leave. Tom was great super friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Location was amazing only second away from the beach, with bikes the host provided. The house had everything we needed and even toys for the kids. Definitely family stamp of approval.

My daughter and I had a fantastic stay. Everything was as described, and we felt completely at home. The location is perfect - quiet and safe. I enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and checking out all of the beautiful houses. The bungalow was very well-equipped with everything we needed. My only issue (which was only mine) was that cabinets were really high up for me (I’m only 5’0), but wasn’t an issue for my much taller daughter. The patio was also a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather we had. We will definitely stay here again when we’re visiting So. Cal.

Nicely laid out space. Plenty of room for 4 people and 2 dogs. All surfaces were clean and easy to clean. So many toys to use for the beach. Bikes, boogie boards, chairs and a wagon. Made it so much easier to pack. Great to have a laundry space. Parking was easy. Entering the place was easy. Ernie was very communicative. Loved the place. Will. Be back.

We've stayed in a few different places in Venice over the years, and this is by far our favorite. It's a perfect space - well decorated with cool furniture, and every room felt just the right size. The kitchen was great, really well organized, and the bathroom / bathtub was clean and lovely (loved the bidet). Internet was fast and reliable, great for working from home like I did (and there are also tons of places - restaurants / cafes - to work out of nearby). Walking distance to my favorite gym, Barry's Bootcamp, as well as the grocery store. Great for kids because of the bathtub and the fenced in front yard. Would love to stay here again on our next visit!

Unique little spot with amazing views. We were even able to get a bit of hiking in - Lisa gave us the inside scoop on how to walk from our lil trailer to the Topanga State Park trails. We spent some time in LA as well as Oxnard to go whale watching - couldn’t have been better situated to access all the good stuff and take some scenic drives (if you’re into that sort of thing). We are into that sort of thing. Well worth the money just for the atmosphere and nature (fell asleep to the croaks of the local frog population) though we didn’t see any. Comfy beds and restful sleep. Thank you!

I’m so glad to find such a lovely home away from home when I visit my daughter’s family in South Pasadena. The cottage is adorable! I love the original features like the wooden floors and push out windows. This cottage is behind the main house, but is surrounded by lovely courtyards. It felt very private. Kitchen was well-equipped and beds were comfy. And waking up to the sound of the rooster on the property was a bonus for this city girl. It’s an easy walk to the little town of South Pasadena (just a few blocks), where there are many restaurants and shops. There’s a fun farmer’s market on Thursday evenings just up the street. I arrived on Thursday, so I was able to pick up some things there for my stay. A grocery store and Trader Joe’s are also within walking distance.

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed at Dons lovely cottage while visiting Los Angeles. The setting is quiet and peaceful; interior is clean and bright. It manages to be close to everything and secluded at the same time. Don communicates quickly and answered any and all questions with near zero wait time. This is my go-to spot when I’m in Echo Park!

The Hummingbird Garden was just what my daughter and I needed for a mini staycation. The house was tiny, as described, but didn't feel too cramped. It had all the necessary amenities, plus Sandra was kind enough to leave a few bagels, cookies and hard boiled eggs! The grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and perfect for sitting and relaxing. There is a little bit of noise from a nearby freeway, but the greenery and the water fountain balance it out nicely and it was not a problem for us at all. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again!

We loved this place. It was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Driveway parking was nice, as was the easy entrance and lock system. The bedrooms were terrific and our kids loved the loft. The yard and the hammock were excellent. The couch was comfortable and they had plenty of entertainment options. It’s in a great neighborhood, too. We enjoyed climbing the steps and getting over to Hillhurst quickly for restaurants and groceries. It’s very conveniently located, close to Universal, Dodger Stadium, and multiple highways. Callie and Zach were great hosts who were very responsive and helpful. We give it a 10/10 and would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay over Spring Break. Loved the location. We counted 97 steps from the front door to the sand. Close enough to restaurants, the pier and easy to get to PCH and 55 freeway. It’s about 3/4 mile walk along the sidewalk to get to the pier and all the fun little shops and restaurants. Had some good donuts and tacos right close to the pier. Very clean and fully stocked with books, DVDs, games for kids and families,beach toys and more. Would definitely stay here again.

This was the first time I have checked in to any hotel/airbnb and did not need to clean or sanitize everything before settling in. My 12 year old loved the upstairs bedroom, my 16 year old actually wanted to hang out with us outside, and I loved the historical charm of this cottage. It has a nice layout and lots of space inside and out. I was able to work with a great WiFi connection while my kids and dogs had more than enough to do to keep them occupied without relying on electronics. The propane fire pit was perfect for s’mores, jiffy popcorn, and telling ghost stories. Inside is comfortable with a great streaming selection to watch a movie and play one of the many board games. The beds and pillows were perfectly comfortable, not too soft not too firm. Neighbors were quiet and kind. You can tell this cottage is loved and is not just another income streaming rental property. You will not regret staying here ☺️

George’s place was an extremely nice stay! It was a bit chilly in Ojai during our stay and so having the AC/heater unit was a dream. It is only a brief 15 minute drive to downtown Ojai, which was very convenient as we were there for a wedding. George was very responsive and helpful in figuring out how to check in as we were a bit confused upon initial arrival. The Airbnb was clean, spacious and cozy! Would only wish that there was better parking as the street parking can be filled pretty fast. Also, it would be so nice if there was a washer and dryer unit on site but that’s just extra luxury. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here if needing to be within the area and for comfortable stay!

stayed for proximity to Dodgers Stadium. beautiful historic home and neighborhood. Didn't use it, but metrorail station is a short walk away. Parking was fine on the street out front. Nice park for running or walking nearby. Grocery, fast food and restaurants all within walking distance. would certainly stay here again.

We enjoyed staying at Hanne’s place. The studio is cute, clean, and private. The back garden is lovely. We sipped tea at the table and chairs in the morning or sat on the grass. The location is ideal. A few blocks to great restaurants. Lovely teas are provided but no coffee, though there is a coffee pot. There are 2 single beds, so my boyfriend and I pulled the mattresses together on the floor at night to make one bed.

Kingston's place was perfect for just me! Great walkable location, the most comfy bed with soft sheets. Felt right at home.

I had a perfect stay at Kathryns place. Kathryn was a wonderful host, communication was great and anything i needed was answered straight away. The cottage was very comfortable and super clean. It was very well equipped with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable also. Kathrys place is perfectly located, it it in a nice quiet neighbourhood and yet only 10 mins cycle from the beach and shops. I found the bike that was available to use really handy, I used it every day! I will be returning to Huntington beach next year and will definitely be returning to stay at Kathryns place.
