Cottage vacation rentals in California

Our 2nd time staying in the cottage, and again we loved it! Can't beat the hot tub and that view of the stars! We had our 5 month old with us this time and she loved it, especially the stove fireplace! We love discovering Fort Bragg and Mendocino during our stay, and Mary and family are the best hosts. We will definitely be back!

Spent two weeks in this beautiful space. We truly enjoyed our time here. Randy the host was delightful and helpful. He even brought me a few things that were not in the Airbnb that I needed to cook special items with. Randy gave us our space while also being friendly and warm. Beautiful, clean and functional home. Great outdoor space with outdoor hot tub. Location is great for the wineries and scenery. Lots of animals to watch/listen to and you can even pet the horses.

My family loved staying at Sarah’s house. Her home and neighborhood were stunning, and there was a lot to do in the area. Check-in was easy and Sarah was very easy to get ahold of when we had questions, which was very appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location, right on the river! Centrally located with an easy drive to the coast (Bodega Bay), to wine tasting (Napa and Sonoma), to Armstrong Redwoods and to the City (SF). Enjoyed the warmth of the cozy fireplace and hot tub too. This is a charming little cottage which was stocked with all the comforts of home. We appreciate a rental with a comfortable bed and nice bedding which was present at this property. The host was easily reachable and responded quickly. Wonderful stay! Side note: If you are easily prone to motion sickness, be prepared as the roads in the area are pretty curvy.

Nancy is very friendly and responsive! She was extremely flexible and accommodating to our needs. The home was very well taken care of, cute, and easy. Wish we had more time to make use of the several outdoor areas but had a great time regardless. Thanks Nancy for being a great host!

Exactly as described—cute and cozy. Peaceful and perfect for stargazing. Close to Joshua Tree National Park. Hosts were polite and responsive.

The place was a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Place was super quiet. The host (Mateo)was easy to communicate with and helpful. I will definitely stay a Mateo’s place again . Thx for having us .

This place was so beautiful, and spotless. The bathroom was very clean and the shower, despite being on the small size, was clean and well designed. Great location with parking right behind the location. Parking made things easy for unloading and loading.

My little family and I had such a lovely stay here! The view was absolutely breathtaking and everything was incredibly comfortable, clean, cozy! We loved having the big space out back so my 3 year old could run around and play while my husband and I could relax and enjoy the ocean

This was a perfect place to enjoy our Orange County stay. It is close to the ocean, freeway, and PCH so it’s a great base to explore Newport Beach and beyond. We enjoyed being able to come back after a day away and enjoy walking to the store, the pier, and a number of restaurants. The kitchen was also a dream with all the equipment needed to make meals, morning coffee, and store yummy leftovers. The hosts accurately described the property and communicated well. We loved the little touches that made it feel like home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

What a beautiful spot! It was an amazing gift of a week. It is right on the beach and close to restaurants, the Dog Beach and many other options. Abe was an amazing host! He was so helpful, kind and friendly. It felt like we were staying at a friend's cottage. From the pictures, it's hard to grasp how you are RIGHT on the ocean. It's beautiful. There is a small yard area for lounging. The back deck is a delightful spot and where we spent most of our non-beach time.

Is it fancy? No. But it is reasonably priced, in a convenient location, has a great hot tub, and a wonderful host.

This was the perfect place for my friends and I to stay at for our spring break! It was a beautiful property with just the right amount of space! It was such a great distance to the beach, and a beautiful beach at that! Brian recommended so many local restaurants and places to visit which made our trip that much easier!

If you want a place to relax and break away from the fast lane, this is the spot. And everything is so convenient, from the local grocery market and natural food store to wine tasting and restaurants. Finally, the people who run the local shops in town are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. We will be back!

Lisa’s place is always the first place I search for when planning a trip to San Diego. Perfect location to avoid the congestion in mission valley or downtown, and it’s only 10 minutes from SDSU if you’re visiting your kid there.

Sundog cottage is lovely! We were so happy to find that it was even more beautiful in person than the pictures. Super clean, great kitchen, deck and backyard were perfect for our dogs and just relaxing and listening to the ocean. The linens are amazing and the beds comfy! Valerie went above and beyond as a host, even left us local eggs, butter and crackers. She was friendly and easy to communicate with. Sundog is a gem and we can’t wait to come back!

We loved our stay and Nick was a responsive and kind host. Was a short trip but we felt very cozy. The home is beautiful and you are close to lots of amazing outdoor experiences. Has all the appliances and tools you might need to make dinner! And extremely reasonable and understandable check out instructions.
