Climate controlled! What is a Yurt? Yurts originated in Mongolia. The Mongolian people were nomadic, and they took their homes (yurts) with them as they tended to, and traveled, with their livestock. Today yurts are built on a platform & consist of two thick layers of canvas with a layer of insulation in between, and most notably a domed skylight at their center. 5 mins to Alpine, 30 mins to Fort Davis, Marfa, and Marathon. A well-maintained guesthouse with the feel of the Old West. Located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but just minutes from downtown, the guesthouse is 30 feet from our house. This funky container house (FIRST FLOOR ONLY) is on about half an acre and situated less than a mile from the heart of town. Located atop the highest point in town, deck views are primo. It's quiet and very dark; star viewing can't be beat. A fenced yard corrals the pups. Swamp cooler keeps the temps comfortable. Full kitchen and washer/dryer. Early risers can catch the javelinas wandering through the lot next door over morning coffee. Hammock :)
