Places to stay in Oakland
This private suite is a slice of heaven in a woodland setting! It has a separate entry, dedicated parking and access via a dedicated stair. Due to the coronavirus we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. The suite features a lovely patio, luxurious large bath with a walk-in shower for two, heated floors and large jacuzzi tub! The bedroom features elegant furniture and a queen sized bed, USB ports, a desk, large screen TV and strong WIFI signal.
This private suite is located on the lower level of our home, accessed from the south side of the house down an exterior set of stairs. There are no nearby neighbors on this side of the house and it is very quiet - all you see is forest and the view to west. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower for two, heated floors and a fabulous two person jetted tub. Neck pillows at each end of tub are provided for enhanced relaxation! Coffee, Tea, and small refrigerator are provided. Also plates and silverware for two, plus wine opener. Transportation and parking are very convenient. There is ample on-street free parking on this quiet street with only one immediate neighbor. Freeway access is very quick and easy via highway Highway 13 and I-580. San Francisco is about 20 minutes away (if no traffic) or a convenient commute via BART from nearby Rockridge Station. We are very near the University of California at Berkeley campus (17 to 12 min.), and major highways 80, 580, 24 and 880, which can whisk you to the vibrant galleries of Sausalito (40 minutes), San Jose (50 minutes), or Santa Cruz (90 minutes). If you are up for a day-long outing, don't miss the grand Muir Woods, wine tours in Napa, or mud baths in Calistoga. Quick access to sunshine on foggy days via the Caldecott Tunnel to points east - Orinda, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Lake Tahoe (~3 1/2 hours.)
Our home is located on a ridge above downtown Oakland. The views are beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet and upscale. Public transportation is not convenient. Guests either drive or Uber/Lyft. Parking on the street directly in front of our home is always available because our neighbors are distant.
  • The room was so clean and the view was stunning. You get a great sunset view and the room has an amazing bathroom. Porch seating was very nice and cozy. Definitely coming back again soon!

~~UPDATE 3/13: Gigabit fiber coming soon! Note that our neighbor’s house is undergoing a full renovation. While it’s not always consistent, you may hear construction noises on weekday mornings.~~ Glamour + camping = glamping! - Centrally located to BART, UCB, & restaurants - BART (7 blocks) to SF in 25 minutes - Wifi, linens, towels, coffee, & tea provided - Big ol' yard with chickens - One of two Airbnb spots here, so you might meet some other travelers! It's like a hostel, but clean. ;)
Welcome! Enjoy all the comforts of home in this fabulously restored vintage caravan. Come say hi to the chickens, enjoy coffee and tea in the garden. You'll be close to pretty much everything and BART is 7 blocks away. We look forward to hosting you! The house is on the same property where we live with our 2 small children. We are very family friendly. Come glamp in our little slice of country life. This 1964 Kenskill camper has been fabulously restored and customized so you can play "pretend camp" while enjoying the comforts of home. This is a great spot especially if you've ever been tiny-home-curious. In a previous life, this caravan was the food truck for Katie Cupcake, serving up the delicious treats in Flagstaff, AZ. You're sure to enjoy sweet dreams. ;) We rearranged the interior so it feels much more spacious than the traditional layout. It's really quite nice inside. And yes, there's even a full bathroom with a proper flush toilet, sink, and small separate shower. The stall is short so taller folks need to get creative to shower. Towels and linens provided. Mini kitchen has a working gas range, double sink, microwave and fridge. Coffee and tea provided, plus feel free to gather some eggs for breakfast. Watching "chicken TV" is a relaxing way to enjoy the garden. You may encounter our two kitties, Cowboy and Beebop. Our place is one of those homes that's all front yard, and we positioned this trailer so you can sit at the dinette and enjoy a view of the garden and our silly flock of chickens. Some people ask about safety. We've lived in the East Bay for 20 years, sampling the whole socioeconomic spectrum of neighborhoods. We've felt more at home here in this slice of town that we've felt anywhere else in the Bay Area. Put on your city smarts and you should be A-OK. That being said, there are lots of great places to eat and drink nearby whether you want to walk, bike or drive. Three great new restaurants are nearby: Sideshow (excellent beer garden with delicious dinner options), Cassave Restaurant (delish El Salvadoran grub and a full bar) and Easy Creole (casual, tasty, and fast). Our favorite local spot is Sweet Adeline with delicious pastries and tasty coffee. There's another coffee and sandwich shop, Alchemy Cafe next to Easy Creole. It's straight out of Portlandia. On Tuesdays, there's a farmer's market from 3-7pm just a couple blocks away! Venture a little further and hit up the big Temescal Farmer's market on Sunday mornings. Your hosts are two UCB alums and former co-opers. Lewis is a programmer by day, musician by night. Ginger is a Jill of All Trades, ranging from glassblowing to finance. Jules (age 5) and Pasqual (age 3) are our little greeters. We'll leave you to your own devices, but don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. Thanks for looking and happy travels! ***FAQ*** Q. Is there heat? A. Yes, we provide a space heater that keeps it warm and cozy. Q. Is there hot water? A. Yes, there is a dedicated on-demand water heater for the caravan. Q. If we don't want to share the bed, is there room to put a mat on the ground? A. Kind of, but I wouldn't recommend it. You could fit a mat on the walkway to the bathroom, but then you'd have to step on each other to get around! Q. Do you have luggage storage? A. Sure, we can fit a few pieces of luggage in our supply room. Q. Where do I park? A. Parking is onstreet . If you don't get a spot just outside, you can usually find one on the block. Watch for street sweeping signs (a few hours out of the month). Q. Can I bring an animal? A. No. We need to keep the space allergen-free. Q. What about assistance animals? A. Due to past trauma, dogs of any size are not allowed to enter the property as they pose a health and safety risk with our particular circumstances.
For some reason Airbnb doesn't know how to place us on the map. We're on the same block as Lois the Pie Queen -- a neighborhood fixture and solid greasy spoon diner. Although our neighborhood is not the prettiest, we have a great community and are happy to be raising a family here.
  • Comfortable, adorable, and affordable

  • Awesome space. I felt like I had stepped into a portal and hopped back to the 70s, then had my soul licked by a child who was born at a Grateful Dead concert or burning man! I loved it. It’s the Barbie doll caravan that I always wanted for my non existent hippie Barbie!

    Carlie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cute spot and super easy check in process!

    Michael2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved ginger and Lewis spot it is gorgeous , and cozy, and the bed is super comfy !

    Kelcie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a out-of the-norm experience in Oakland. Chickens, gardens, funky/groovy camper that is both unique and functional. Enjoyed the fact that they accommodated a last minute booking, as well as, an additional day which I booked the following morning. Definitely not your run-of the-mill generic hotel room. This place has personality and both privacy and comfort for a memorable experience that is worthy of sharing.

    Daniel2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Ginger & Lewis's place, they where awesome with communication, location was perfect close to the BART and campervan was so cute with it's little touches. Thanks for a great stay!

Redwood Sanctuary is located in the idyllic Oakland Hills with beautiful vistas, hikes, and parks within a short drive. The home is situated on half an acre of land in the middle of redwood, eucalyptus, and oak trees secluded away from other homes. Montclair village is an 8 minute drive, providing lots of great food and shops. Minutes from Highway 13 and 580. It is a 1 bedroom studio with a queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. It can comfortably accommodate up to 3. We'd love to host your stay!
The home is set back a ways from the street down a long driveway on half an acre, giving the house plenty of privacy away from any nearby homes. The in-law unit is located above the detached garage, with a flight of 14 stairs to access the entrance. Off street parking in the driveway is provided. TV and high speed fiber internet. We live in the home adjacent to the detached in-law suite and have 2 small children, so noise levels in the evenings should be kept to a reasonable level.
Minutes away from Montclair Village and Glenview, both which offer great restaurants and coffee shops. Joaquin Miller Park, located 9 minutes from the home is a beautiful redwood park filled with hiking trails. Downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt are a short 15 minute Lyft ride away.
  • This place is absolutely beautiful. I was there for work, so spent most of my time sleeping (the bed is sooo comfortable, and the pillows). The window in this studio is beautiful, definitely spent some time relaxing with that calm view! The location is perfect to just about any party of the Bay!

You’ll love my place because of the good location, convenience to public transport, the friendly neighborhood, the ambiance.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Although there is just one bedroom, the couch folds down for extra sleeping space. Please be aware that the property is in a hilly area and that there are stairs to navigate which can be challenging if you have large luggage or mobility issues.
It's a quiet, private spot in a busy city. Feel free to enjoy the deck or yard and the many restaurants and local spots.
Although quiet and out of the way, the cottage is located within walking distance of a grocery, movie theatre, Lake Merritt, many delightful restaurants and shopping.
  • The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, whether to come home to at the end of a day of sightseeing or to spend the whole day just relaxing on the deck. A lovely view over Deanna’s rooftop to the interesting architecture on the hills across and to the stars at night. We stayed five nights during the shelter in place and were quite content cooking our own meals and spending a lot of time at the sweet guest house. I recommend the hilly neighborhood walks admiring front yard gardens. Friendly hosts. We appreciated their flexibility in dealing with us. Definitely plan to stay there again.

  • Great place. We love it.

    Marcilla2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna's cottage was cozy, clean, and private. It was not difficult to get parking and the cottage had so many amenities. Overall I had a very enjoyable stay.

    Henry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t even know where to begin, Deanna’s cottage was such a pleasurable experience for the two nights we stayed. Checking in was so easy. The moment we checked in Deanna was so warm and kind welcoming my husband, sister in law and I with her delicious baked treats and fruits. Her cottage was very cozy and clean. She also provided many amenities that you’ll need along with orange juice and fresh milk stocked in the fridge. Instructions in her cottage was very easy to follow. The neighborhood felt very safe. Communication was quick, Deanna responded within minutes with whatever questions we had. Definitely would come back to her cottage and stay longer.

    Nancy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna's cottage was absolutely wonderful! It was a great stay and she was an awesome host. Check-in was very easy and smooth and upon arrival there was fruit and freshly baked bread waiting for us! Everything in the cottage was very clean and there is a great kitchen with everything you'd need to cook, if you wanted to. I would most definitely stay here again.

    Erykah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna was extremely hospitable and kind during our one night stay there and we absolutely loved her garden cottage! Everything was perfect - the entire space was very clean and filled with all kinds of amenities that you might need. My husband and i look forward to coming back and we highly recommend you to stay here if you're in the area. Once again thank you Deanna for accommodating to us when we couldn't find a parking space nearby. You have a lovely house and we love everything about it :)

    Jane2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. Sparkling clean, has all needed amenities, very cute and spacious, warm and very convenient. It is located on a lovely street, walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater and the lake. Deanna was very responsive and accommodating.

Traditional Japanese architecture tucked away in a great Berkeley neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet but just a few blocks to UC Berkeley, all the restaurants of the "Gourmet Ghetto", and the North Berkeley Bart station. WE ARE AVAILABLE FOR HOSTING. DUE TO CORONAVIRUS, WE REQUIRE THAT NO MORE THAN 2 GUESTS STAY, WITH NO OHER VISITORS ALLOWED AND WE CAN NOT ACCOMODATE REQUESTS FOR EARLY CHECK IN OR LATE CHECKOUT. Berkeley Short Term Rental Registration # ZCSTR2017-0007
Traditional Japanese building with Tatami mats, organic queen size futon, and an "Ofuro"- a deep and luxurious soaking tub (similar feel to a hot tub). Entering the tub requires agility as it is high and you have to stand on a bench, sit on the edge of the tub, and swing your legs around. If you have any questions about that please ask (and see pictures). Lots of natural light with five skylights. Older wooden building with a somewhat rustic feel. The woven grass tatami mat floors have a noticeable smell of dry grass which we find to be lovely, but may not be for everyone. Comfortably sleeps 2 in new all natural foam mattress. Minimal kitchen with small fridge, tea kettle, and small toaster oven. We use fragrance free and non-toxic cleaning materials and provide Dr. Bronners hand soap. There is a fan available for use.
Peaceful neighborhood just minutes from downtown Berkeley and UC Berkeley. Close to amenities including restaurants, coffee (Philz!), grocery stores, Farmers' market (Thursday afternoons), ice cream parlors, beauty salons, and drugstores.
  • This place is very well designed for its theme. My wife and I only stayed one night and wanted to stay more. The bathtub is uniquely relaxing as well as the skylights through out the place. The moon was so bright that we didn’t use any electricity and let the moonlight shine in. So strongly recommend this place if you’re passing through San Francisco area.

  • Such a cool space! My sister was visiting from Japan so we picked this to give me a bit of a taste, and she really liked it compared to the accommodations like that she has seen in Japan. She said it was basically a bigger version with a more comfortable bed. Check in instructions were very clear and we had a breeze getting in and out.

  • My second stay and it was better than the first. My only complaint is that it really books up fast. 5⭐️ all the way.

  • Helen’s place is by far the best place I have found to meet my needs while staying near my work place in Oakland. Location, cost, and amenities are beyond compare.

    Roger2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Close to the freeway, beautiful view from the hill, easy check-in process.

    River2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location. Comfortable stay. I had everything I needed. Having your own entrance and bathroom is a plus. Place is generally neat and tidy. Good directions and communication by host. The hills are steep in the neighborhood, so unless you like having the workouts of walking up the hills, drive or Uber. People at the house were very helpful when I had a problem with the lock.

    Randy2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable apartment, Helen is a very responsive and discreet host who clearly indicates how to get to airbnb without problems.

    Gouzon2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, well put together. Enjoyed the coffee every morning , felt like a hotel room ! The location wasn’t bad but our Uber drivers GPS would take us to the wrong house on a completely different street.

The tub with the jets and the cd with the birds was even more of a plus, super calming. Smelled like home, loved all of the decor, it was definitely exactly what I was looking for. Come enjoy our comfortable, private, light-filled studio in-law unit. Cook light meals in our fully-stocked kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, sink and stove-top--pots/pans/dishes all included), a full bathroom with tub, wi-fi and cable TV and Netflix (HBO/Roku). Enjoy hill views from the front deck. Stay in a quiet and safe neighborhood in the woodsy hills of Oakland. Close to the Warriors, A's, Oakland Airport, East Bay hiking and all major freeways, and BART. Only 15 miles to downtown SF.
Sunny studio below our family home in a well-established, friendly neighborhood. 2.8 miles to BART. 20-25 minute drive to San Francisco (with no traffic). Perfect for your mother-in-law or visiting family/friends. A bit off the beaten path in the woodsy, Oakland hills, yet close to all the best of the Bay Area! Please note: Since the studio is below our living room, you can hear footsteps above. The house was built in 1924 so creaking and vibrations are unavoidable. We did install a sound-proofing rug pad, have a thick wool rug, and recently added ceiling insulation, but we have young children and, although we are conscientious of our guests below, foot traffic will likely still be heard -- especially in the early mornings. The rest of the neighborhood is very quiet at night and there is little street noise which is rare for Oakland's urban setting.
This is a friendly family neighborhood filled with kids, dogs and long-time residents. We love the neighborhood playground and the park-like feel of the wooded views. It is close to all major transportation needs and minutes away from the best hiking in the Oakland hills!
  • When I think of the Bay Area, this is what I imagine. Perfect location! Perfect instruction. Comfortable bed and lots of places to eat. I hope it’s available next visit for work.

  • Amy’s place is extremely clean, orderly, and attractive. It was ease to check in and out. I appreciated the written guidelines and information.

    Delia2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's studio is cozy, clean and comfortable. All interactions were smooth and timely. The bed was super comfy and the kitchen space had everything we needed for our short stay. The location is close to Joaquin Miller Park, where we had a great time hiking. The family neighborhood was close to markets and fun restaurants. We could hear Amy's family above us but it was not loud or intrusive at all. A sweet space, nicely set up.

    Judie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was easy to communicate with. The check-in was very clear and easy to follow. She briefly greeted me upon arrival, watch was appreciated. And the space overall was perfect for my short stay!

Relax in a private, fully equipped Casita with stunning views of East Oakland and the Bay. This newly constructed one-bedroom guest house in the quiet Eastmont Hills neighborhood has everything you need to work and play. Enjoy lounging in a hammock on the deck or on the couch streaming movies to a 32" television. Brand new stainless steel gas range and full-sized fridge make cooking a breeze, or you can partake in booming Oakland's restaurant scene.
I've created the Casita to host visiting family and the rest of the year, to host the world! It was such a wonderful experience to be a part of designing and building a unique small house with a spacious feel. I would describe the style as eclectic: rustic elements, like an exposed wooden beam; industrial accents in the lighting and fixtures; and the warmth of Talavera tile and vibrant colors paying homage to Mexico. It's a little over 400 square feet, plus a 11x10 foot deck, which basically adds a room! The washer/dryer and kitchen make it totally self-sufficient for a short or longer stay.
Eastmont Hills is a diverse neighborhood of well-kept homes below the 580 freeway and several steep blocks above MacArthur boulevard. I've lived in Oakland since 1985 but only recently moved to this neighborhood, in 2017. I find new things to love about it every day! There is an open space park just a half a block away, great for stretching your legs, watching the sunset and taking in the view of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin, four bridges, and the Oakland and San Francisco Skylines. You can hear the mockingbirds singing and the owls hooting, see hawks hovering above the hillside and enjoy the brilliant magenta of bougainvillea that seems to thrive here. To be transparent, it is East Oakland: you may hear occasional sirens from MacArthur Blvd down the hill or the momentary throb of bass from someone driving by enjoying their music a little loud; and you can't leave stuff in your car in plain view and expect it to be there in the morning. It's also not a super convenient neighborhood: public transit is spotty, no restaurants to walk to, and it is a little further away from downtown. That said, I feel safe, the neighbors are way friendlier than my old neighborhood, the Mediterranean climate is lovely and the views spectacular.
  • Wonderful view and nice house

  • The Casita is a charming apartment in a tranquil setting with spectacular views across the Bay. Melia is the ideal host, responsive and discreet. As we had an extended stay due to the COVID 19 restrictions whilst we waited for a return flight to the U.K. we were grateful for Meila’s understanding and very much hope to stay again in less uncertain times!

  • Beautiful view, wonderful people, amazing experience. I stayed with the host for a month, and could have stayed a whole year. The view is breathtaking and never repeats itself. I walked a two mile look at 5 am every morning finishing at the peak four doors from the house. Amazing, kind and responsive host who understands guests, and provide all the necessary amenities plus more. Thank you so much for sharing your home. And I hope our paths cross someday again. Be well.

    Luise2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, clean and looks great inside. Also very comfortable with a nice TV, work desk, and really nice bed. Just not the best area to be in

    Adan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, comfy, and convenient place. 10 minute walk from the train station which gets you into San Francisco in minutes for super cheap (way less than an Uber). Has fridge and microwave for heating up leftovers or meals. Great desk area with high speed internet as well as ALL the streaming services on a 4K TV. Bed was super comfortable and the place was sparkling clean when we got inside. Came with a blow dryer which my girlfriend was ecstatic about. Light sleepers might have trouble cause the walls are thin so you hear outside traffic, the train, and some of the noise from the other people in the house. But we’re deep sleepers so we had zero problems. Check in and check out were easy and the homeowners were really nice whenever we’d bump into them coming in or out of the house. Don’t count on parking in the drive way unless you have a prius or something that size. I have a pickup truck so I didn’t fit in the driveway but street parking was ridiculously easy to find and right in front of the house. 10/10 overall and will definitely be staying here next time i’m in town! Communication with Gene was also quick and easy!

    Anuar2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My son and My husband had a very satisfying experience with Gene’s Airbnb accommodation. The detailed instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was a little concerned about the safety of this part of town, but there were no issues. We were able to park the rental car inside the fence. We did not need to use the heater. The accommodations are Spartan (party of two or less best), but worked great for us, we just needed to crash somewhere overnight, and continue fresh the next day. I heard people talking during the night in one of the neighboring apartments, but if you use earplugs or have deep sleep, not an issue. Finally, very convenient to get to either the suburbs of Oakland, or SFO airport.

96%+ 5-Star & 98%+ 4-5-Stars! **WORTH IT. READ REVIEWS.** SF Bay views from your well-appointed room. The Guest House (apt) is steps from the beach. As quiet as it comes this close to the city, yet still accessible to SF: Driving or Lyft/BART(train) 30 -45 min; Bus/BART 45-60 min. SFO: 60-90 min. Guests often take the ferry. Free street parking. Check-in & checkout often flexible--check w/host in advance! Car strongly recommended, not required. Also: https://airbnb.com/h/bayviews
Welcome to The Green Dragon Guest House! Frequent AirBnBers who stay at The Green Dragon Guest House often tell me “This is the best AirBnB I’ve ever stayed at.” I also have a number of repeat guests here on business who come back again and again. Now, there are definitely more “posh” AirBnBs out there. The Green Dragon Guest House is not for everyone (check out the photos to get a sense of the decor). But for those who it IS for, it is a gem. Super-comfortable bed, relaxing and peaceful environment, freshly laundered linens, clean spaces, special touches such as an large overhead shower and Qi chargers on the nightstand, organic soaps, shampoo and conditioner, and breakfast essentials included (that you make yourself) with sourdough toast, pasture-raised eggs, organic oatmeal and organic fair trade coffee and teas. [From our wonderful guests] December 2019 "Beautiful, enchanting guest house with great views of the beach. Excellent service. Everything you need within walking distance. Excellent value with all of the amenities anyone could possibly need. All of my needs were met beyond expectation. Could not have asked for more." "Being at the Guest House felt like being home, to me." "It was one of the most restful stays I have ever had while traveling, and I travel a LOT." "Definitely recommend this place. Has all utilities you need for a comfortable stay. Chill and relaxing vibe near the shore. Love all the organic soaps and shampoos. Vibe is great and you have your own space." [Welcome] The Green Dragon Guest House is not for everyone, but for those whom it is for, it may be exactly what you are looking for: A moderate price for a relaxing, gentle place to stay (including organic soaps, bathrobes and a truly comfortable bed) in a neighborhood that has all the amenities you need, plus immediate access to one of the only beaches in the SF Bay Area. Or, as a recent guest put it: "beyond my expectations." This being said, we are not a hotel; we are a guest house. We are also not the cheapest AirBnb on the market. But we also are not even close to being the most expensive--and if you book late and are lucky enough for us to still have availability, then you're in for a low-priced treat. If you are really looking for the right place to stay for a few days to a few weeks, consider studying the photo tour of the guest house, and perhaps take a look at our website: Green Dragon Guest House Dot Info. They can help you decide if the Green Dragon Guest House is the right place for you. Guests sometimes report two “downsides” to staying here. They are 1) that you may have to walk around the corner, or cross a few very short blocks to get to and from your car, as parking immediately near the guest house can fill up in late afternoon or early evening. The walk is typically no more than 3 minutes, and is about the same distance I walk to get to my own car. As long as you don’t leave bags visible in your car, parking here is quite aafe. And 2) the drive to San Francisco can take 30 - 60 minutes, sometimes longer if at the peak of rush hour or if there is an accident on the freeway. During rush hour, the local ferry is often faster and offers a beautiful ride to and from.. For tourists this distance often means choosing between the guest house’s comfort, relaxation, relative quiet and beauty (and a beach!) over “being in the heart of it all” and paying for that privilege (as city prices are often double ours, or more). [And, here are all the basics:] The view and immediate proximity to Crown State Beach make this space truly special. Your bedroom has a view of the Bay, and the large windows off the living room look out at a view that spans the Central Bay Area, from Silicon Valley on up to downtown San Francisco and the Bay Bridge. You are immediately across the street from a nearly mile long state beach, where sunsets are stunning! Your bed is also super comfortable, according to other guests who have stayed here. You have your own room, and the rest of the apartment is shared space, with either your host and/or other guests staying here (there can be up to 5 people in total in the apartment). A stay at the Green Dragon Guest House includes breakfast "essentials" such as french press coffee, tea, cream, sourdough bread, jam, butter and eggs, provided for your use (and your own cooking).
Relatively quiet and suburban, right next to the beach. During the day the street is fairly busy, but it is no freeway by any means. We are an easy 15 minute/one-half mile walk and/or short drive to the nearest mall which includes a 24-hour Safeway, a Trader Joe's open from 8am to 9pm, and a Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant for healthy fast food. Though the street outside does have modest traffic on it during the day, at night it quiets down, making it sometimes difficult to remember that Oakland is only about 7 minutes away. There are also a number of restaurants in walking distance including a Chipotle Mexican Grill and a great sushi restaurant. The Trabacco Restaurant serves elegant rustic Italian, perfect for a special night out followed by a walk home.
  • Great space, beautiful view, thoughtful touches!

    Katherine2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best ‘room’ stay with AIRBNB so far. Robes, organic breakfast, bidet. View of the beach from the room to watch windsurfer and sunset. Completely safe to walk along beach at any hour. Read the extension and thoughtful website Markus put up for convenience and you will have all of your questions answered!

    Katherine2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Markus is the best host I’ve encountered in a ton of traveling, and the kindest human you’ll likely encounter. Also, the master of labeling everything.

    Desire2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Markus was an amazing host and made transitions during my stay easy. The thoughtfulness he put from decor to check-in/check-out is beyond hotel experience. The space was really clean and quiet with a gorgeous view of the beach and San Francisco. The room was spacious and clean. Markus was really quick to respond to any questions I had about the space and any other accommodations that I needed. Highly recommend this host for future stays!

    Debbie2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

Our private and well appointed apartment enjoys a wonderful view and has dedicated access and on-street parking. It is located on the lower level of our Mediterranean styled home, with separate entry, exterior patio and laundry for exclusive guest use. You won’t meet us unless you want to. There is a flight of dedicated exterior stairs to the apartment, lined by gardens. Due to the coronavirus we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
The apartment is located on the lower level of an Architect's beautiful Mediterranean styled home, but has complete privacy with a separate entry and patio. It is like a very nice hotel and has no owner personal belongings. The decor is warm, modern, and welcoming. The windows overlook a sea of California oak and bay trees to an amazing view of the new Bay Bridge tower with the Golden Gate Bridge beyond. The apartment can sleep up to four guests, with a new queen-sized bed in the bedroom and queen-sized Comfort Sleeper sofa bed in the living room. This sofa-bed unfolds to a platform type bed with a good mattress. There are hardwood floors and tasteful furnishings throughout. Fresh ground Peet’s or other craft coffee is provided! The kitchen is fully equipped with granite counter tops, dishwasher, gas oven and cooktop, microwave and large refrigerator. The large elegant bathroom sports a heated marble floor, marble counter, and bathtub with overhead shower. There is a large closet and plenty of dresser drawers for your belongings. The apartment is naturally cool in summer, and has radiant heated floors for cool days in the winter. Your own laundry room with full sized washer and dryer is available for your exclusive use. But the best part is the view...you can watch the sunrise illuminate downtown Oakland and San Francisco, enjoy ever changing sunsets, or perhaps witness a carpet of fog crowned by a clear blue sky. You will delight in the ever-changing view! We are often not home, but love to meet our guests whenever possible. Oakland is centrally located in the Bay area and enjoys great sunny weather year round. Our neighborhood is called Oakmore Highlands and overlooks Dimond Canyon Park, which features a wonderful hiking trail. It's a very nice walking street, with friendly neighbors. Also very popular with bicycle riders. Transportation and parking are very convenient. There is ample on-street free parking on this quiet street with only one immediate neighbor. Freeway access is very quick and easy via highway Highway 13 and I-580. San Francisco is about 20 minutes away, or a convenient commute via BART from its nearby Rockridge Station. We are very near the University of California at Berkeley campus (~18 min.) and major highways 80, 580, 24 and 880, which can whisk you to the vibrant galleries of Sausalito (40 minutes), San Jose (50 minutes), or Santa Cruz (90 minutes). If you are up for a day-long outing, don't miss the grand Muir Woods, wine tours in Napa, or mud baths in Calistoga. Quick access to sunshine on foggy days via the Caldecott Tunnel to points east - Orinda, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Lake Tahoe (~3 1/2 hours.) If you need anything please contact us. We take great pride in our property - we want to hear about anything which is not to your satisfaction or is not working properly.
I love this neighborhood because it is SUNNY, (much warmer than San Francisco) is centrally located to freeways, has quick access to shopping, great restaurants and groceries. The neighbors are very friendly, lots of dog walking. Great hikes just outside the door - about a mile to a lovely redwood forest.
  • Amazing view and spotlessly clean. Bed is extremely comfortable and the outdoor patio is lovely. 10/10 recommend.

    Russ2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment had everything I needed with high end furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout. I loved the location nestled in the hills - it was lovely to fall asleep at night to the hooting of an owl and wake up in the morning to birds chirping. It's such a peaceful location. I especially loved access to the washer/dryer. Since my stay was a full month, that was really important to me. And of course, the view was amazing. The gorgeous sunsets were a show nearly every night.

    Linda2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The space was clean and thoughtfully laid out. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

    Ben2020-03-18T00:00:00Z

  • Fun and funky. When you settle in to the private courtyard you forget you’re in the city. You could be in a mountain cabin in the woods. Ethan and Craig are friendly and pleasant hosts.

Forget those SF prices and relax in a backyard paradise that's only a short commute to downtown SF! The Redwood Retreat is a spectacular in-law suite in our gorgeous backyard! You'll wake up to birds chirping and squirrels chasing each other around the redwoods. You'll look out the window and see vibrant colors, even a tropical palm tree! You'll have as much privacy as you'd like but are welcomed to say "hi!” This is a residential area, so you’ll need to use ride-sharing or drive to get around.
This is a secluded in-law suite with a queen-sized bed, TV (with an Amazon Fire TV Stick for Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Netflix, ESPN, etc.), WiFi, alarm clock / radio, mini-fridge, microwave, cozy dining set, Keurig (with K-cups, sugar / stevia, and creamer), board games, books, a nice bathroom (we have energy efficient tankless hot water, so you do have to let the water run for a minute before it gets really hot), soft towels, and some beautiful house plants.
You're in a safe neighborhood of Oakland only minutes from Lake Merritt, the Dimond District, Downtown Oakland, and even SF. The neighborhood isn't walkable, so having a car or using Uber / Lyft is suggested. Street parking is readily available, as well.
  • The place was clean and neat, and communication with hosts over messenger was good! Instructions provided to get to unit was also clear, we did not have any troubles with arriving and leaving.

  • Great place. I needed a private place where I can take my laptop and work for a couple days, and Ian's place worked out great. It's a small area but perfect for what I needed. Very clean, very private. Its located In the back yard and it's a bit far from the main house. When I stayed up late playing my ps4 online with friends I was a bit loud on the mic but its private enough that I wasn't bothering anyone 👌🏼. Anyways thank you Ian and Tenzing.

Stay in a trendy ‘tiny-home' complete with rooftop deck, full bathroom, and private entry. Kickback your weary legs on the rooftop or enjoy our backyard lounge area and garden after a long day exploring SF and Oakland :)
This is a container home in the backyard of my duplex house. Around 100 sqft with day bed, trundle bed and refrigerator. If you stay 2 people, you can use the trundle bed. But then you'd have to step on each other to get around. No kitchen, No TV, No wifi. But you can use BBQ grill, dining table, patio and wifi in backyard.
Our place is close to Downtown Uptown Oakland, Emeryville, and Jack London Square, as well as the Bay Bridge. Walk to Emeryville shopping ( Nordstrom Rack, Target, Home Depot, Safeway, Best buy, etc...) 10 minute walk.
  • Is what is advertised. Very responsive hosts. Will help you quickly if something isn't right.

Clean and light-filled one bedroom apartment in KONO neighborhood. Less than a mile to BART (0.9 miles) and half a block to the bus, this centrally located apartment is perfect for commuting to downtown Oakland, Berkeley or San Francisco.
This 1906 Victorian home was renovated in 2011 and is split into three separate units. The available unit has beautiful wood floors and a full kitchen. The apartment can comfortably fit two people on a queen sized bed in the bedroom. A futon in the living room could sleep up to two more guests for an additional charge. Towels, sheets and bedding are provided. Parking is on the street and is free. Out back we are experimenting with urban homesteading and have a large garden, chickens and occasionally turkeys! Don't worry, we have no roosters and it's very quiet inside the apartment. Adjacent to the house is the freeway and BART tracks but inside the apartment you do not hear anything. The house has double-pane windows and a gas heater.
The neighborhood is up and coming, situated between downtown Oakland and Berkeley. Within a few blocks are numerous restaurants, coffee shops with wi-fi, bars, a halal market, and public transportation. Downtown Oakland is a vibrant area with music, night life, delicious restaurants and a thriving art scene. We recommend Burma Superstar for dining and visiting the New Parkway Theater for watching particular movies in a comfy couch while being served food. Also Lane Splitter is fantastic for a good pizza and the Scottish pub down the street has amazing beers and a great lamb pie. Going west from the house is a little rough but east along Telegraph Ave is a great street all the way north to Berkeley and south to downtown Oakland.
  • I couldn’t have found a better spot for my son and I, to reconnect and decompress for a couple of days after his arrival home from boarding school due to this current crisis. This Airbnb was cozy, so convenient, spotless, and had every amenity we needed! Everything works as well! The bed in the bedroom is heaven, and the futon is comfortable as a sofa or bed. Perfect size kitchen with all the extras! The location is perfect for getting to Lake Merritt where we spent a lot of time, bus line at the corner, and Bart not to far away, good food everywhere in this part of Oakland. Jade and Joe were very responsive to any requests we had during our stay. Highly recommend

  • The place was perfect for my trip! Exactly what I needed, and everything was smooth as can be. Great location too, I was able to walk to anything I needed.

    Brady2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • For quick business travel and short, fun stays, Joe and Jade's apartment is very conveniently located, quite clean, and was more than comfortable for my colleague and me. While parking on the street is free, a smaller car may work better as parallel parking can get tight. And, while the neighborhood seems to be on the come-up, those intimidated by those less fortunate on the streets might be uncomfortable in the neighborhood. However, we didn't experience any problems and Joe and Jade's property is well secured. We felt safe the entire time and enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.

2nd best stay in the bay! The former home of a music legend, this mountainside villa is the ideal place to get away from it all; close to Downtown Oakland, just across the bridge from San Francisco. Quiet, beautiful, modular space and surroundings fit for 70s era royalty, with some modern touches. If you are interested in recording packages, please inquire through our other listing, "Historic Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp". Otherwise, stay on the line and we'll get right back to you.
The unit is extremely versatile and can transform from a full service music and film studio to an extremely comfortable hillside getaway with some of the greatest amenities. Just to be clear, this is a recording studio (both in the past and presently, however, this listing DOES NOT include "formal studio time, such as full rehearsals and/or recording packages). The live room can be used for meetings or as a large size bedroom/living room combo and the spacious deck can be used to lounge, throw darts or enjoy spectacular dining with view. -The property is secured with multiple cameras around the exterior. If you are a registered guest, these measures have been taken for both your safety and privacy. This unit will fit just about any need, let us know how can we transform the space to fit your needs. Going, going, gone.
This neighborhood is one of the most scenic and quietly reserved the bay area has to offer. Sweeping views of the valley and gorgeous surroundings combine to make this stay magical. Whether it be the wild turkeys squawking about, dear battling the steep terrain, or endless bird watching, this studio retreat is one of a kind. It doesn't get much better than this.

This listing is for one bed in a four-person room. This home operates like a hostel. There are three bedrooms, two rooms that sleep four people each, and a private room occupied by a long-term tenant. There are two shared bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and large back yard. The house is a ten-minute walk from the West Oakland BART station which is just one stop (around 8 minutes) from downtown San Francisco. It is also a quick BART ride to downtown Oakland and the nightlife there.
We started this Airbnb to emulate the hostels found in most of the rest of the world -- inexpensive with few frills, but providing the opportunity to meet fellow travelers from around the world and explore together. Every bed has a shelf, hook, reading lamp, and locker. We will assign you an open bed on the day you arrive, so it doesn't matter which listing you book. The downstairs bedroom has twin-sized two bunk beds; the upstairs bedroom (all the way to the left at the top of the stairs) has two twin beds and one full-sized bunk bed. Please note that because this is a shared room, there there will almost certainly be other people occupying the room. We do not discriminate. There may be people of different sex/race/age/nationality/sexual orientation/political or religious affiliation in the same room, so please don't book if you believe that would be a problem for you. SPECIAL NOTE: We are too small to maintain single-sex rooms, so if you are uncomfortable sleeping in a room with guests of the opposite sex, you should not book with us. It is possible you will be the only person of your gender in a bedroom.
West Oakland is a developing and diverse neighborhood. Some blocks are more dangerous than others. The half-mile route between the BART train and our house is well-lit and safe; but please exercise caution and maintain awareness of your surroundings. A lone traveller might feel more comfortable taking a taxi or uber after dark. The BART train runs by the house 6 am to midnight and can be loud, especially if the windows are open.

Step through the private entrance and into an interior filled with light, original art and all the comforts of home. Set on the ground floor of a newly renovated 1889 home, the many welcoming touches include a snack basket and air diffusers. Fix your own meals in the kitchenette or stroll to dozens of restaurants just blocks away.
The studio has a queen bed, a standing closet, a table for two and a kitchenette. It is accessible through its own entrance. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, two burner stove, tea kettle, coffee press, pots & pans and place settings for two. There is a cozy bathroom with a shower. This space also includes wifi. The ceiling height is 6 feet 3 inches throughout the apartment and slightly less at the entry doorway. We live upstairs and you will likely hear the occasional footstep (it isn't a cottage in the woods). Street parking is usually found within a block of the unit.
Stroll to a choice of dozens of proprietor-owned restaurants, along with bookstores and the historic Alameda Theater. Go half a mile to reach South Shore Center, with Trader Joe's, Safeway, and other big-brand outlets. The beach is a 15-minute walk.

The guest suite is located just off the main street of International Blvd, in a residential/ commercial area near the fruitvale district. Like other developing Oakland kneighborhoods, Fruitvale can seem like a study in contrast. Celebrated for its racial diversity, it is a home to a large immigrant population (predominantly spanish-speaking) and to working-class families and these days people are paying $700K for a 1,000 square foot property here. East Oakland's Urban Suburban mix feel, is a home to people from all walks of life. Some might say, that there is a slight touch of some interesting colorful characters. We are very close to the Coliseum Bart station and the new bus rapid transit line that is currently under construction. We live in a transit hub so our neighborhood is a bit gritty. People generally stay with us because we are close to BART and we are an affordable Bay Area option, not necessarily to hang out in our neighborhood. Though, we love our amenity and culture-rich neighborhood and it is a local, low-key foodie destination with many beloved and celebrated restaurants. Confident travelers who like exposure to different cultures tend to love our neighborhood. If you're looking for a more suburban experience, our neighborhood is not for you. You will see graffiti and litter on the ground and you will see some well-maintained homes and some landlord-neglected homes. You will also see families out shopping together, neighbors walking their dogs, commuters walking to and from BART, and street food vendors selling elote, fresh fruit, churros, and tamales. *The route between our house and BART is lined with businesses, residential homes and some industrial properties. We walk to and from BART at all times of the day without incident. As we would in any city, we exercise caution and maintain awareness of our surroundings and we suggest that to guests. Some travelers feel fine walking to and from BART after dark or late at night and some (like lone travelers) might feel more comfortable taking a taxi or Lyft/Uber. Getting around If you're staying with us and planning to explore the immediate Bay Area, a car is not really necessary. It can be an ordeal to drive to San Francisco as parking is scarce and expensive and traffic is unpredictable. If you do drive, I recommend driving outside of commute times. Monday - Friday 5:00am - 9:30am (at least) going from the East Bay to SF. Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 7:00pm coming from San Francisco to the East Bay. For day trips outside of Oakland, Berkeley, or San Francisco a Gig car share is a great option. Check out Gig for more information. There are usually Gig cars parked somewhere in our neighborhood because we're so close to BART, they can be picked up wherever they are parked (using the Gig app) and returned anywhere in the home zone in the Bay Area (our neighborhood is in the home zone). Super convenient for trips to wine country, Santa Cruz, Stinson Beach, Big Sur, and other day trip destinations. We are a: •5 minute drive to Oracle Arena/Coliseum •5 minute drive to BART •15-20 minute walk to BART •5 minute drive to I-880 onramp •10 minute drive to I-580 onramp BART times: -20 minutes to San Francisco -55 minutes to San Francisco Airport -12 minutes to Downtown Oakland -8 minutes to Lake Merritt station -18 minutes to Downtown Berkeley Driving times: -20 minutes to San Francisco -35 minutes to San Francisco Airport -10 minutes to Oakland Airport -12 minutes to Downtown Oakland -12 Convention Center -20 minutes to Downtown Berkeley -10min Oakland Zoo *Commute times impact car travel and could greatly extend these time frames. Parking: Designated parking space/Shared parking space. NOTE: although the driveway is meant to be shared, as a courtesy to our guests, we almost never park our car in the driveway so that it's easier for our guests to come in and out as you please...in other words the driveway is practically all yours!! Ford bike rentals: There is a rental rack/station at Fruitvale BART. Enter the station plaza at East 12th and turn right after you pass Reem’s. You will see the bike racks. Lyft/Uber: If you don't want to drive, bike, walk, or take public transit Lyft and Uber are a great option, especially when you're coming home late at night. Safer to use Lyft/Uber as a shuttle from BART late at night vs. walking alone. Gig Car Share: Gig cars are great for day trips, overnight rentals, or if you just need a car for a few hours. Check out their website and app for more info. Car Rental: There is an Enterprise Rent-A-Car near us in Oakland. If you rent a car from them, they will come pick you up. What's near us? Nearby markets... Chapala Market -5-minute drive Cardenas Markets -8 minute drive Smart & Final Extra! -10 minutes drive Nearby restaurants & coffee shops... Corner Liquor store - 1 min walk Corner Mexican restaurant - 1 min walk It's a grind coffee House - 3 min drive Jolly Rogers Diner -5 minutes drive Guadalajara restaurant -5 minutes drive Black Bear diner -7 minutes drive Denny's -5 min drive Starbucks-on hegenberger - 7 min drive In N Out Burger - 7 min drive Panda Express - 7 min drive Luis's coffee shop - 3 min drive Little Caesars Pizza - 2 min drive McDonald's - 1 min drive Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - 3 min drive And much much more....
  • Jose and Julia’s private in-law palace is an amazing getaway in the heart of the bay. Their location is super safe, clean, private, relaxing, quiet, and at a value well below what is being provided. Super easy checkin with a lockbox and very clear and easy instructions. Communication is top notch and you feel very welcome and safe which is always a concern, car protected in the driveway : ) Yes you did your due diligence, look further, this is your spot. 5/3/2020

  • Great place! Loved it. Close to the airport and really nice.

    Aj2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cozy place to stay at, clean and up to date. Jose and Julia are great host and make the experience at there place very easy. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the location, it was right in the middle of the ghetto making it hard to walk around and enjoy my surroundings. This however is not Jose or Julia's fault, their service is still overall a 5star.

    Chris2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect! Only a few minutes drive to the coliseum. It was clean and perfect for the an overnight stay.

We are blessed to live in one of the most amazing places on earth. Come join in our cozy downstairs efficiency apartment. Whether you want to just get away, break a sweat in our home gym, or lounge in our backyard; we'd be glad to host you.
Please be aware that this is a basement unit and the ceilings are a little low. The clearance in the overall space is 7' and the shower is 6'3". Our place is lovely and cozy, however if you are Shaquille O'Neal, this is not the ideal spot for you.
The neighborhood is quiet, safe , and culturally diverse. You will easily find street parking near the house. This is a phenomenal town that has over 20 parks, shopping, restaurants, museums and a beautifully maintained Beach that goes on for miles and miles. We moved here years ago and to this day we continue to be amazed at all that we have in this small 6 mile long island. Whether you're a foodie, an athlete, or someone who just wants to enjoy Alameda beach, we have everything you need.
  • Alameda is a lovely town in the spring. Easily walkable great beaches and all shut down during my week long visit. Thankfully I found Gabrielle and Gabriel's bnb at the last second. The basement bedroom , thanks for no torturous flights of stairs, was extremely clean with all the amenities one would expect. Fluffy clean towels, a heavenly soft bed and streaming hi-speed internet were complemented by lots of storage space . There is a lovely fenced back yard filled with succulents and picnic tables and fresh lemons to be plucked and enjoyed with a hot cup of tea at sunset. I am already planning my return !

    Chuck2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Gabriel and Gabriella’s. It was conveniently located, clean, and large enough for all my traveling needs. Gabriella was a gracious hostess and each day I was supplied with a nice breakfast. I would stay at this location again!

    Susan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gabriel and Gabriella’s space is really lovely. It is clean, cozy, affordable, well designed and has lots of thoughtful amenities. The location is great and they are such kind people. I would highly recommend staying with them.

  • Simple, comfortable and quiet.

    Robyn2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome private little space. Parking was not an issue, at most I parked 3-4 houses away on a busy night. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet. It's also surrounded by food just a short trip away. Gabriella/Gabriel was excellent in communication and making me feel welcomed. I am 5'11" and the shower had easily an extra 5-6" of clearance. Place is very clean and very private. Side note, you can sometimes hear footsteps above, which is absolutely not an issue, just worth a mention. It did not disrupt me at all. Great Value place for sure.

Completely remodeled 1 bed room private unit with private entrance in a quiet corner of the residential area. • Impeccably clean and stylish/modern one room unit in the rear of a home. Super comfy bed and fresh/new towels. The host’s are great communicators and strive to be hospitable and polite. Unit is located in a mixed (industrial/residential) area of East Oakland but it was generally quiet and safe. Ample parking. Highly recommend if your on a business trip and want to relax.

    Matt2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dave's place was perfect. Easy check-in and out. It's the perfect size for 1-2 people. Everything was updated, extremely clean, and equipped with everything you need. The neighborhood is pretty quite and there is an outdoor area to drink a coffee, or read a book which was great.

    Leah2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great really enjoyed the stay wish I can move in permanently

    Lakia2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. This private suite is comfortable, clean, and a great deal. Parking was a concern for me before arriving and I was pleasantly surprised to see there was PLENTY of street parking. Dave was a great host, very responsive and accommodating. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook all of my meals. The bed was absolutely comfortable. There was very little noise during the day (normal city noise) and I could hear practically nothing at night, not even Dave! It was like they weren’t even home. I would absolutely stay again and recommend for any short or long term stay.

HISTORY Peralta Hacienda Historical Park is THE place to learn about the history of Native and Mexican Americans in Oakland. It's full of tours, events, youth programs and interactive museum exhibits. The six-acre park is made up of three areas the historic core adobe area, 1870 Peralta House and the Peralta Creek nature area. FOOD One of the most beautiful things about Fruitvale, the taco trucks! Fruitvale is home to quite a few so we suggest sampling all over. A few of our favorites are Taqueria Sinaola, Guadalajara, and Pipirin. ART Hit the streets as Fruitvale boasts some of the best street art/murals in Oakland. The Rue de Merde, (which technically is in the adjacent neighborhood, Jingletown) is a mural wall composed of nearly a dozen murals and mosaics. NEAREST GROCERY Supermercado Mi Tierra, only 3 blocks away. NEAREST LAUNDROMAT Washtime Coin Laundry, also only 3 blocks away.
  • The airbnb was great for my 2nd stay. The hospitality and communication from host was TERRIBLE. Despite me checking in early, I was not giving no support or accommodation throughout my stay. Hospitality would be a rate of 0. But the stay was great

It's a min away from UC BERKELEY and 15 mins walk to downtown Berkeley Bart station. Great place for someone looking for quiet and cozy place. Complimentary tea provided from House Of Curries ( restaurant located downstairs)
The room has attached private bathroom.
Berkeley city is usually student friendly area. It is also one of the safest area I know.
  • Bishal responds extremely fast! The room is what it is! Simple and cheap. Probably best if you just need a place to sleep and head out since the rooms pretty bare!

    Yu2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for Berkeley, very vibrant safe area.Relaxed and friendly, you’re literally minutes and in many cases seconds away from things. The Belgian waffles down the street were awesome ! Bishal was a friendly helpful host. The room was exactly as advertised.Water pressure was great in the shower.A few things that did surprise me.The room was very cool even during those crazy few heatwave days we just had.Secondly It was very quiet in there, and also I had imagined being above a Indian restaurant to be constantly smelling food and spices but that was not the case at all.I would stay at Bishals again it was great value.

    David2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, so many food places nearby. The area is upbeat and safe. Bishal is a great host, he responded to every message in less than 30 mins. The room was clean and sufficient.

A private in-law studio with own entrance close to everything: Ashby Bart (0.6 miles), Bay Bridge on-ramp, Emeryville, Rockridge, Berkeley, Telegraph Ave, and UC Berkeley. It's a cozy, clean, and minimalist space with a queen bed, new modern bathroom, and kitchenette (fridge, kitchen sink, kettle, microwave, and counter space). • This apartment had an easy check-in process and was sparkling clean! my boyfriend really loved the shower (he's weird and always needs to have good shower pressure LOL). we were right where we needed to be near my friends house. if you ever stay here, definitely check out the Wolfhound Bar for drinks and Lois the Pie Queen for breakfast/food!
