Family-friendly vacation rentals in Mission Bay, San Diego

Alain’s house is incredible! It’s perfectly located near the center of Pacific Beach but far enough out you don’t get any of the night life/noise around the Airbnb. Kitchen, BBQ, rooftop lounge with hot tub were all in great condition and very clean. Alain was very friendly and gave great recommendations for local bars, coffee shops, and restaurants in the nearby area. They even left doughnuts and a thank you card for us when we arrived. 10/10 would book this Airbnb again!

Such a great spot! Quiet and peaceful, unbeatable location. Windensea is a stone’s throw away La Jolla is super walkable. Cy lives right there on the property and goes above and beyond. He has thought of everything a guest could need and is there ready to help with anything. Thanks for everything Cy!

Great location, great space! Kid friendly, though I do recommend bringing or renting some kid activities if you’ll be home any. Great communication from Aaron.

Beautiful, spacious, well-appointed home! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone going to San Diego! Neighborhood is convenient to all parts of the city.

We have stayed with Isabella several times. She is a wonderful host. The house is located in a lovely walkable neighborhood. Feel very safe staying there. The neighbors are friendly and we feel very welcome staying there. Lots of local restaurants and stores are within walking distance. The San Diego zoo and balboa park are within 10 minutes driving distance. What we love the most about the house is the beautiful backyard. It has very comfortable patio furniture, picnic table, and a table with an umbrella. We spend many nights out at the fire pit. The house is very comfortable. The house has a wonderful sectional that we have watched many movies and footballs games with our family. We will definitely be back.

This location is a unique mix of the super quiet and secluded back and being a block from balboa park! The home was really great too. Love to stay here again!

We enjoyed our staycation in San Diego, thanks to our beautiful home away from home at Jason’s Air BnB unit. The beach is within walking distance from the house and there are plenty of good restaurants to go to nearby. We appreciate that Jason’s place is dog-friendly as the neighborhood is very dog friendly. There are some good dog-friendly restaurants within walking distance and the dog beach in San Diego is within walking distance too. It’s a perfect place to have a staycation with family and furbabies. Thank you Jason and Keri for all the clear instructions about the house that it made our stay smooth sailing! Definitely booking again if we ever need a staycation in SD in the future.

Beautiful home in a great location! Lisa was responsive and easy to work with throughout our booking, before and after arriving. The only downside was that they have beautiful outdoor living space that can’t be used, even for conversation on weekends after 9pm. Quiet hours were posted, but this is the first private property we’ve ever encountered where “quiet hours” meant you literally were not allowed outside the house. Other than that it was an exceptional property. Quality linens, comfortable beds and pillows, lots of extra blankets, equipment to make any kind of coffee your heart desires. Adequate number of glasses, plates, etc and a quality, large capacity, quiet dishwasher which is greatly appreciated in a house intended for up to 8 people!

We absolutely loved our stay! The home was beautiful, full of character, and perfectly located. The garden was such a peaceful oasis—we spent a lot of time out there. We completely fell in love with the area. It’s a fun, charming place and our daughter especially enjoyed every moment. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

A great wedding weekend. This home made for a much more personal stay for my sister, my dogs and I. Friendly neighbors - close to the city’s venues. Very comfortable beds, well maintained and well stocked for daily needs. Appreciate Rachel’s flexibility in scheduling and her ease of responding to my questions. A great “home” feeling.

Adorable place and great hosts. We came for a long weekend getaway and couldn’t have been happier with Mike and Tania’s place. Great location, close to the beach and restaurants, lots to do. Amazing communication and everything looks just like the pics. Can’t wait to come back again!

Maricela was a great host. The house was very clean and exactly like the pictures. Maricela was very accommodating and proactive. We had a friend come down from LA and Maricela allowed him to stay even though we already had the maximum amount of guests. This was very kind and we appreciated it a lot. If I am ever back in San Diego I will stay here again.

We are so grateful to have been able to stay at Gwynn's place, it is so peaceful and lovely. Like a secret garden getaway. We loved all the small touches, and beauty of the space. Gwynn made us feel very welcome and comfortable! The pool is amazing and the outdoor spaces are delightful. Can't wait to stay here again.

Vanessa’s place was nothing short of amazing! The location is just unbearable. A walk to the beach/boardwalk, 5 min from Seaworld, 20 min from downtown. Near Mission beach and Pacific beach, surrounded by great restaurants. I could go on and on. It fit my family of 4 plus my mom and stepdad perfectly. We enjoyed the pool during the day and hot tub at night. The house has everything you could possibly want or need. We would absolutely stay there again and plan to!

I really enjoyed my time spent there. Not only the scenery was nice, but it was also quiet and peaceful. I also especially appreciated Jeffery’s hospitality and kindness and I would definitely recommend going back!

We had such an amazing week for our party of 7 family reunion!!! The house was exactly as described and so well stocked with amenities, most especially books, toys, and any children’s item you could think of for your young boys. Our family had tons of fun using the pool and hot tub, we definitely utilized the wide assortment pool/beach toys and floaties as well. We had a very good time with the special treasure hunt game which was amusement for all ages. Communication was top notch and the recommendations were much appreciated and spot on. We’re already planning our next vacation here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

If you're currently looking for a place to stay in the San Diego area and have kids, stop looking. This is the place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carrie's property. Kids Paradise was ideal for our young ones, and thanks to Carrie’s thoughtful preparations, we had everything we needed for a comfortable experience. This made it possible for our children to have a wonderful vacation, while also allowing us parents to relax. I highly recommend this accommodation for families with children of all ages. We look forward to the possibility of staying at one of her other properties in the future.

We had a great stay at Tigg’s place. It was easy to get around, very walkable to get food or go to the beach. The studio had everything we needed. Would stay here again. Highly recommend!
