The house is absolutely gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice. Huge living area was amazing for traveling with a group. We had 7 people and never felt cramped. I loved that the dining room table fit all of us. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. One thing to note is that it's about 30 minutes from Hilo, which isn't bad at all but did make the structure of our day different than if we'd been in town. Tony was an excellent host and always responsive. We were all very pleased with the house and amenities. We all ooh-ed and aww-ed over it the entire trip.

Lucky to grab this location for a few days. Accommodations were great for three parties of folks. Especially great one couple could bring their dog. Unfortunately, we missed the volcano eruptions, which started the day we checked out for home. They seemed to have everything you might need and super cozy, including the reclining couch sections were comfortable enough to sleep in!!

We only got to stay at the Jedi Lanai for two nights, but I wish we had had longer! There is SO much Star Wars memorabilia and every time I took a moment to sit down, I saw something I hadn’t noticed before. It was delightful. We also weren’t able to make it in on our check in day until quite late, but the caretaker was still there to greet us with a smile and show us all the features of the house. Thanks for letting us stay, I’ll be recommending it to any of my Star Wars friends who are considering traveling to Big Island!

Great experience staying here, felt like on Bali a bit considering the semi-open house architecture and a garden full of fruit trees. The house is large, spacious and we loved especially the outside part where we spent most of the time exercising in the morning, having meals, reading, taking photos of colourful birds passing by and in the night stargazing accompanied by a symphony of forest noises! Absolutely wonderful. We met also the owners and had a nice chat, learning about the best spots to visit in the area. last the local guide book we found on the table was extremely useful!!! All-in-all we had a great time here! Fully recommended!

We stayed 4 days here with extended family in the smaller home on the same property and it was great. The kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of space for our family of 5 (larger group was 10 total) to spread out. The best part was the beach across the road with good snorkeling (stronger currents so be careful) and lagoon with turtles. Plenty of outdoor gear to borrow- SUP, kayaks, small boogie boards, water shoes and snorkel/fins. Would definitely stay here again.

Conveniently located in Hilo. Easy to find and access rental. Hosts were very fast in communication and very friendly. I would recommend this place if you are staying in Hilo.

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay, it’s here at Kapoho’s Paradise! - totally off-grid and hidden away! Great layout with 3 bedroom en suites downstairs with sliding doors to the outside/pool area. The living, dining, kitchen, half bath and large lanai overlooking the pool and beautiful landscaped yard complete the upstairs. Very spacious and comfortable!! Wayne’s a great host. We thought it was cool to stay in this Japanese style home. Kids loved it. Pool was not deep and fun to play in. Grounds are like a park. Unique place.

Very large 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 decks off the beaten path. Linens and robes were very soft, and slippers included. I appreciated the quintet of coffee brewing methods: French press, drip, percolator, and pour over.

Paradise!!! This house is amazing!!! Tropical Hawaiian paradise! No AC, No problem!!! Had the windows open and listen to the waves and frogs at night! It was amazing!! The hot tub and views were breathtaking. Lots of room for everyone to have a good time! The black sand beach is a 5 minute walk from the house which we love to explore, go swimming, and just relax on the sand! Restaurants and shops were in town about 10-15 minute drive from the house. This area that the house is located is in the most tropical, quiet part of the island. Felt like I was one of the locals! Hilo and waterfalls are an hour drive. Volcano National Park is about 30-45 minute drive. I will definitely stay here again. If you are thinking about this place, do not hesitate and book it. It is a piece of Hawaiian paradise on the East side of the island!

We had a wonderful time staying at Kristen's place in Pahoa. She was such a great host. Very quick to respond to our questions and requests, provided great local tips, and an overall great person to get to know. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home on the east side of the Big Island, either for a few days or for a longer stay. Very comfortable with a big bedroom, fully stocked kitchen, and living room. Jungle living at its finest!

Mike and Kim were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Although they live in the property, they respected our privacy. House was clean and had everything we needed for our 6 week stay. The pool was incredible, which our kids and us frequently enjoyed. It was hard to leave and hope to be back again.

John was a great host! He was super nice and welcoming. The place was clean and nice and spacious. He left us bottled water and made sure we settled in.

Stayed in one of the bungalows for 3 days with my 11yr old. Off-grid made the stay extra special and allowed ample time for us to spend quality time together, discovering all the property has to offer. Robins communications throughout were quick. Loved listening to nighttime wildlife. Location is perfectly located between hot springs and black sand beach. Came here looking for property. This trip reaffirmed my choice. Love. Love. Love.

The host was very attentive. Whenever I asked questions, she quickly replies. When I asked for extra dryer and shampoo, she brought them next morning! There was a small rice cooker and crockpot. I have never seen those in Air B and those were very useful. (microwave, oven as well.) The place is better than photos and feels clean. No funny smell or any kind. There is a garage space which was so great, too. Late check out time was super helpful. We stayed with 5 people and all of them said it feels like staying home. There are two sofa beds in the living room. We took the futon part from living room and made 1 room as 2 single beds room. Just for the info, there was washing machine but no detergent; no cling wrap, tissue-box.(pretty usual for some host so not a complain.) Plenty towels but not many bathmats. To get to Hilo in the morning, it took longer than usual. There are 2 full bathroom(tub and toilet), which made our stay comfortable. Overall, this place was great for gro

This place is a great, unique find just outside of Volcano NP. The cabin has a lot of character and history, while also having all the small touches that shows people have actually lived there and used it. Finally, the location is great for getting into the NP and the host even helpfully informed us when there was an eruption. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay in hilo for family vacations! James is a great host, friendly, and is so flexible! Fairly close to everywhere as well!

Beautiful tiny home. Looked like the pictures. Great to sleep with listening to the birds etc at night. I found it peaceful.
