Vacation rentals with a kayak in Deer Isle

Great location. Woke up to the sounds of birds. very responsive. I would have given it a 5 star all the way, David was amazing and responded in a very timely manner. But, the turn over service could have been much better. The previous guest left a wine bottle in the automatic fridge ice dispenser and it was unfounded until my family found a large peice of glass in their drink, serious hazard to drink glass. Should have been spotted by the turn over service but, who would check the ice maker for a bottle a wine? I understand that. Very uncommon and unfortunate for us. David responded in a very fast manner and gave us options to accommodate the situation. I would have left a 5 star if this was the only thing but everything was so unorganized in the kitchen, they had everything but nothing made sense to why it was there. Sink didn't drain. There were also stains on the sheets and a pizza box left by the fridge that wasn't ours. Little things but the turn over service was a let down.

Seven stars out of five! We have stayed in numerous places in Maine over the years, and given a lot of five star reviews. This one surpasses them all, hence the off the charts grade. It is incredibly well provisioned, spotless, spacious, inviting, and has an enormous porch with a view so lovely it looks fake. You can't even hear your neighbors, let alone see them. We heard loons, crows, and one very belligerent owl, but not once did we hear our neighbors. The only way you will know the tenant is home, is that a car will park opposite on the side of the house from you. The fire pit makes it easy and convenient to host a fire, even if it is only for 45 minutes or so. Kayaks are provided along with life jackets. At night you can see millions of stars. Place is so peaceful and comfortable, we almost didn't make it into the park haha. We will definitely be back!

Sydney’s house was perfect for our family! It was clean, with beautiful views on a quiet, private street. The house had plenty of toiletries, we didn’t need to buy any household items while there. The hot tub was clean and perfect for a breezy afternoon looking out at the water. Sydney was a great host, providing tons of recommendations on places to dine and sites to see. Perfect location to visit both the Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor! Would love to stay here again.

Very pleasant place to stay and the owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Very responsive. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommend.

James’ place was absolutely amazing! The views of the lake are stunning and he graciously accepts dogs in his home. We had access to the canoe and kayaks and fire pit, which could easily be enough for a stay in the house. The house was clean and in a private area. I would recommend this lake house to anyone looking for a quiet retreat. If I were to stay here again, the only thing I would do is probably bring my own pans to cook with.

We were traveling up the east coast for 8 days with many stops along the way. This stay was by far the most like “home.” We were able to fully relax and enjoy the scenery! Beautiful home and very clean.

What an AMAZING stay! We loved staying at the lake house and enjoyed extra that came with it! The bed was comfortable, the rooms were all beautifully decorated and we both loved the hot tub! Although it rained almost the entire time we were able to enjoy the game room and the fire place. We have already told our friends and family how much of a great stay we had!

This was certainly a peaceful oasis. My partner and I do not often have the opportunity to get away together so when we do we hope for the perfect place to escape to. Ani and Gil's place was just that place. Ani was ALWAYS responsive and extremely helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting Gil who was just lovely. The space was clean and had everything someone could need. The outside patio is so nice to sit on in the morning with a cup of coffee and a book. It's so quiet! We loved our stay so much we, spur of the moment, asked for one more night. Thank you and Gil for such a pleasant experience. I recommend 100% that you book this place. It's just dreamy.

The cabin was breathtaking, with a history painted and photographed among her walls. Perfect amount of space to accommodate a family should you have one. The morning sunrise was spiritual, and humbling. Host was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our dog. Arjuna. Will absolutely be returning. Thank you for an amazing and beautiful experience.

good value, a little creepy if you're showing up at night (haunted vibes) a little damp smelling, especially in the bathroom (since it's carpeted) but the view makes up for everything. beds and sheets were all clean and comfortable upon arrival.

Robert was an amazing host! Super kind and helpful from the beginning till the end. The house was just perfect,so cozy, peaceful, and full of thoughtful little touches. Everything was exactly as described (maybe even better!). We felt at home the moment we walked in and didn’t even notice how fast 10 days flew by. It will always be a special memory for us. This is one of the best places we have ever visited. A beautiful setting and very private. The home was fantastic. Very well done and very comfortable. Everything inside was super clean and neat. Very nice bed and fantastic bed linens. A lot of care and time has gone into creating the spot. And let’s not forget the beautiful outdoors, the setting was fantastic. We enjoyed the fire pit way too much. On a clear night you can see the stars without difficulty. We will definitely come back and plan a longer stay.

We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs across the country and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Lydia’s place was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained homes that we’ve been in. The property and scenery are breathtaking. The numbers of birds and chipmunks that entertained us while we sat on the back deck was surprising. We ate all of our meals with the exception of lunches at the cabin and had everything we needed to prep and cook our food. This trip was all about relaxing and Lydia’s home was everything we needed.

Bruce & Susan were so accommodating and gracious hosts. Property was delightful and fully equipped with all you could need.

Walking and sun rises were wonderful. The cabin was clean and welcoming! Very quiet and peaceful. The only detail that would enhance the stay and departure is not having your guest do house keeping ( putting dishes away, stripping beds and starting laundry) though house keeping charges were included.

I loved my stay and Salisbury Camp. I was there in October during peak foliage and the view from every window was just stunning! The interior is beautiful, everything is high-end and well-done. Huge kitchen that had everything I needed. The yard is right on the shore, there’s a solo stove, kayaks and a canoe, and it’s just a peaceful spot to relax. Jenny was very helpful and proactive in all communications, and even provided welcome treats from Stonewall Kitchen, along with a bottle of wine. I had to leave a day early due to a family medical emergency and she was so thoughtful and kind. My only regret is that I didn’t get to use one of the kayaks to explore the pond. Next time! I definitely plan to return, this is such a wonderful spot!

I had a great stay here! it's quiet, the lake is beautiful, the fishing was solid, and Jessica did a great job explaining everything!

Our stay in Sharon’s camp overlooking Halfmoon Pond was wonderful. It was peaceful, the setting beautiful and the camp equipped with everything, and more than, we needed. We had plenty of towels, linens, blankets. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked one to two meals a day and had everything we needed. We never needed or wanted anything that Sharon didn’t have. Sharon was a great host. She checked in with us, quickly offered a solution when mother nature created an issue, offered suggestions on places to eat, shared where we could find the closest grocery store, and, most importantly, created a comfortable home away from home. It’s a little slice of Heaven that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at again, and again and again. [We visited from a small town in East Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains.]

We loved staying at the Little Lodge! Patty was very helpful throughout our stay and the provided maps and recommendations were really nice for navigating the area. The cabin was also so cute and cozily decorated throughout! We went to Acadia national park and it was definitely worth the slightly longer drive. Overall this was a great experience for our group and we would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Downeast Maine!!

Masha's oasis cabin was just what we needed this weekend. It was so peaceful and private. No lights- just stars, no wifi- just connecting with each other. Masha was such a thoughtful host as well and made sure to check in with us to make sure we didn't need anything else. The cabin is also about an hour and a half from Acadia which makes for the perfect day trip!

The cabin was very comfortable, quiet, and just as described. Everything you need for cooking is already there. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, wifi was amazing. We went kayaking one day and it was beautiful. There are tons of rocks just below the surface of the water near the islands but you can see them because the water is so clear. The drive to the cabin is a long gravel road and thankfully we have 4WD because it might have been harder to get up the driveway from the cabin if we didn’t. There were loons on the pond every day and night but they were fun to see and hear. We also had some hummingbirds visit the feeder at the cabin and loved watching them our whole stay. The water from the faucet is from the lake but it’s so clear you almost wouldn’t know it. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet, natural place to relax.

I've stayed in a lot of AirBnBs over the years, and I have my favorites, but I can confidently say that David's cabin has skyrocketed up to the top two in my list after just one stay! The cabin is easy to find, close enough to town to pick up good groceries or access shopping/restaurants, yet private enough to feel like you're getting away. David is super responsive and provided lots of helpful info at checkin and in the guide binder. The cabin and property are GORGEOUS! Beautiful waterfront views and access, super peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is well supplied with everything you could need: cooking supplies, games, karaoke, TV, books, zero gravity chairs, the works! Very thoughtfully appointed and well maintained. Cabin was also spotless and very easy to settle into, and easy to keep clean myself throughout my stay (something that is very important to me). Truly, this property is a gem -- I will definitely book again!

This is such a special place! The cabin is beautifully designed and the views are wonderful! David left perfect instructions as to how to live “off grid” and is quick with responses if needed. So much to explore durning any season- from mountains to coast! Hope to return- maybe during blueberry season!!

we will be returning again for a 3rd time for our honeymoon this has become a very special place to us.
