Beautiful property and home with Mountain View’s and very peaceful neighborhood. Lots to do in close proximity if you are a fan of the outdoors.

We had the most wonderful stay in this peaceful and cozy home! The amenities are amazing and the wood fired sauna was the cherry on top. The host was very responsive throughout our entire stay and provided us with everything we needed. The location is impeccable, in the middle of the forest and surrounded by beauty and quiet. We really didn’t want to leave this place but will definitely be back again soon! The home is so unique and very well equipped. We can’t wait to repeat our trip back here!

Forgive me for waxing poetic about this place but it was inspiring and magical. I have always wanted to live on a steep hill with a view and now I know for sure that I do. We saw owls, a red tailed hawk and beautiful songbirds filled the air with their music. The house itself is decorated so beautifully my partner was crying at every turn as some detail popped out. I could not spend enough time on the porch looking out across the little valley of Elysian Heights at historic houses surrounded by green spaces. Exploring the hills and secret staircases satisfied all of our adventurous needs and just over a mile away was s vibrant area of coffee shops filled with artists and more than enough fun little shops to peruse. Karen was a fantastic host responding quickly and assuaging our fears when we got an earthquake alert on our phones. She helped me find a staircase I was looking for and suggested the best vegan restaurants. The only caveat with this place is the stairs, so just be prepared.

Prior to our stay, we requested a few items that sometimes rentals don’t have. Those items were waiting for us on the kitchen counter as we arrived. We really appreciate the extra attention that was given us.

Nice and peaceful place. It has everything we need. We cooked good meals, stayed warm, took warm shower. We really enjoyed fire place. Sandrine is very responsive. Thank you for hosting this nice cabin. I recommend this place.

Great locate, a perfect place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Greta hikes close by and the cabin is in excellent shape. WE are already planning our next trip and hope to stay here again!

Beautiful A-frame cabin with great views from the top floor! The common spaces (living room, dining area, and kitchen) are much more spacious than they look in the pictures. Kitchen is well stocked with pans and utensils, bedrooms were spotless, and check-in and check-out instructions are clear. The fireplace is tricky to operate (especially if you’ve never built a fire) but the hosts provide a really useful instructional video. In terms of location, it’s an easy drive to the observatory and hiking trails. The one minus is that you can see and hear the neighbors on all sides and, since the property is not fenced, we encountered their off-leash dogs in the front yard a couple of times. The dogs are all friendly but, if you are traveling with your own dogs or children, this is something to keep in mind.

My family and I were pleasantly surprised with the location. The location is located on a farm with an orchard, horses, chickens, and sheep. The location is very quiet and peaceful, especially when we took walks in the morning. Our host was responsive, as well as the caretaker who stays on the large property. We would definitely stay here again.

The view was impeccable and the property and house were very spacious. We enjoyed the individuality of the decor. We were lucky enough to have snow for our visit. Our 4x4 made it possible for us to traverse the road safely but it would have been treacherous without 4x4 or chains. We had a bit of trouble at check-in (our fault) and the host was friendly and prompt to assist us. Fantastic property for our large family gathering. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful place and an excellent stay all around

Purchased a 2-night stay for my parents in celebration of Valentine's weekend. The original cabin I selected had a power outage but Eddie (park manager) quickly found a replacement cabin for my parents. He was very responsive and quickly resolved the issue. My parents enjoyed their weekend and couldn't talk enough about how beautiful and peaceful the park was. They really enjoyed the lake views and surrounding areas with lots of restaurants and bars! Thanks again to Eddie for communicating with me and ensuring my gift was a success!

This place is exactly what you see. You have all the privacy you need, but you're not too far away from the market. Finding the place, getting inside and the amount of things that you can do at the home, makes it worth the stay. The house was spotless, and everything in the house works. No surprises.

Really kind and thoughtful hosts! I felt like I was staying in a bohemian treehouse dream. It was so clean and well taken care of. Lovely hikes in Elysian Park nearby, and excellent coffee shops just a few blocks away. I'll definitely stay here again! Thank you so much!

Emil was absolutely wonderful. Super great communication, with an awesome, clean and beautiful house. Had everything you could want or need while on vacation. Made my stay easy, comfortable and relaxing. I will definitely be staying with Emil again!

Place was adorable!! I will say some of the drive was scary like we were driving through a cloud so just make sure you don’t drive late at night. I’m sure it was just cause the time of year but still! Overall loved the place and are so happy we got to stay here!!

Staying at the Lilac Cabin was like stepping into a warm hug. From the moment we arrived, the charm of the cabin wrapped around us—it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. The decor struck the perfect balance between rustic and refined, with thoughtful touches everywhere, from soft blankets to warm lighting that made every evening feel magical.
