Cabin vacation rentals in Black Hills National Forest

It was the perfect house for me and my friends for spring break! The distance to the ski resort you can’t beat it! Would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and hope to return! Jackie was accommodating, and the cabin had everything we could have needed. Watching the sunset from the hot tub, sitting by the fireplace, walking around the neighborhood, hiking various trails (or attempting due to mud and ice), and taking in the beautiful nearby sights were just a few highlights.

I had a nice time staying at Mary's place to explore Rapid City and the surroundings! The house is about 20 minutes out of town and feels quiet and close to nature while still being convenient to Rapid City and many nearby parks. The hot tub was a great perk!

The house is beautiful, very easy to check in. Location is a little out of the way from things, but definitely manageable. Everything was so comfortable and nice and Bart did a great job of giving us easy instructions and being proactive and checking in incase we needed something. It was a great place to stay. All the games available were a great touch, really nice after a long day of exploring.

We had an amazing stay at this cozy cabin! The space was clean, well-maintained, and had such a warm, inviting atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating, quickly answering any questions we had and ensuring we had everything we needed. The only downside was that the main TV in the basement didn’t work, which was a bit of a bummer for big family movie nights. However, everything else about our stay was fantastic, and we still had a wonderful time. Overall, 10/10—would definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at Timberland Lodge! Our group of 10 found the space to be perfect for our winter getaway. The lodge was spotless and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and the perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes. The location was fantastic—close to Terry Peak for skiing and just a short drive to Lead and Deadwood for dining and entertainment. We loved the foosball table for some friendly competition in the evenings. If you're planning a trip to the Black Hills in the winter, we wholeheartedly recommend Timberland Lodge. It was the perfect home base for our adventure, and we can’t wait to come back!

very beautiful views and very beautiful house! we managed to get a 5th wheel up to it with our side by side but I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you're super skilled with trailers. I have nothing to complain about with this house. Definitely would recommend the place to others to stay at! The hosts were VERY quick at responded which was top tier!!

Place was really cozy and easy to find! Hot tub & sauna worked great and would recommend to anyone. There are a bunch of cool things to do that are within 45 minutes of the house.

Fantastic, fantastic place! The pictures don’t say enough! The house was set up so nice for a large group. Big kitchen, dining room. We loved the fireplace.. And the beautiful valley where the house is located.

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin! It was close to town but also very tucked away with lots of wild life, including big horn sheep, deer, and turkeys. its also a short walk to a local trail that takes you all around the city. plus it has a great fenced in backyard which we used to play fetch with our dog.

Serene and peaceful. Cute place for our overnight stay! Wish we had longer. Apple Maps made it a little hard to find..thank goodness for large billboard! Great communication for our late check in! Highly recommend!!

The cabin in the mountains was absolutely everything we hoped for! Once the snow had melted, and our front wheel drive rental was able to get up the driveway, we were golden. Highly recommend this place!

We just completed our four night stay and it was absolutely wonderful. We were pulling a trailer with two motorcycles so we needed to find a place to stay which could accommodate our trailer. Mackenzie’s place was perfect! It was just a little ways out of town, but so quiet and peaceful. The place was stocked with dishes, microwave, mini fridge, etc - but the fridge was the only thing we used. The bed was comfortable. We opened windows at night and it was really cool and comfortable. Our entire trip was perfect, until five minutes before we were ready to leave this morning at 6a and my boyfriend locked the keys in the car. I would absolutely book Mackenzie’s place again if we return to the area!!

Cozy, comfortable, and surprisingly modern! We ended up arriving late but our host left clear and detailed instructions for check in. Our cabin was so warm and welcoming when we arrived. The bathroom facilities were by far the best I've experienced at similar sites - incredibly clean and temperature controlled. We got to meet a few of the staff on site who were all so friendly and kind. Our puppy also made friends with the German Shepherd pup "Spirit" who is a total sweetheart. Sad that we only stayed for one night as we were on a long road trip. Will absolutely be returning in the future for a longer stay !

The Bunk House was a sweet little getaway. Nicely furnished and spacious. Provided a flavor of the Black Hills. Lots of wildlife at our doorstep, and MILLIONS of stars at night. Matt communicated in advance and throughout our stay. Very clean and comfortable.

This is our second time staying here - it’s just as beautiful in the fall as it is in the winter. My dog and I had a great time exploring, sitting on the deck, observing the wildlife (daily visits from many deer, turkeys, etc). It’s very peaceful. The deck is our favorite place to hang. The addition of the recliner inside is so great - as is the new deck furniture. Truly a little slice of heaven. Will definitely be back again!

It was wonderful place to stay and everything was clean heated. It was a happy night.

We had a wonderful stay at Cindy and Stoney's cabin. Our pups enjoyed hiking around the area and even got to meet the horses! Lots of wild life in the immediate area and a quick drive to the Wildlife Loop to see bison, burros, prong horns, and prairie dogs. The cabin offered everything that we needed. A one of a kind experience in such a beautiful area. Thank you Cindy, Stoney, and Buddy! Hope to visit again!

This rental was outstanding! We’ve stayed at many rental homes and this home had the most well supplied kitchen we’ve ever had. This home is a really long way from town and other homes, so it was very peaceful and quiet. We were there in the winter and the scenery was unbelievable! The hosts were so good at making sure the road and driveway were plowed for us. They had the home very well supplied with extra items so we didn’t feel we had to run into town unnecessarily. They took the time to make the decor very cozy and homey. Lots of nice little touches. We will definitely go back!

This place is EPIC! It felt so peaceful and my family didn't want to leave; because it was so special. If you are thinking about this place to stay, you better or you will be missing out.

Absolutely loved this place. Close to everything in the Black Hills. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. Very quiet, clean and cozy. The animals at the ranch were the cherry on top. Loved everything about the ranch. Definitely will book again when we come back.

Great place to stay. Great instructions, really simple on guests, and not a speck of dust. Amenities within the house are above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen at a property rental.

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. It was very quick & easy to retrieve our key from the lock box with a code Crystal had provided shortly after booking. The 2 bedroom cabin was perfect for 2 couples and in a great location for checking out Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, and driving the Needles Highway. Crystal was very quick to respond to any questions we had and had our cabin equipped with everything we needed. Very clean & cozy!
