“Rich was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The space is both spacious and cozy. Coffee and treats were great touches. We had the most amazing view of the sunrise from the bed and particularly enjoyed having our breakfast and coffee out on the front deck. We saw three deer and other wildlife just peacefully roaming around. What a magic spot!”

“Carrie has a very cute home with a very comfortable living area. It is truly a "home away from home". Carrie is very welcoming and hospitable. She goes out of her way to make your stay meet your expectations. She is very helpful in giving dining suggestions. We would stay again without hesitation.”
The Line Shack is nestled in the heart of the Black Hills on two hundred private acres for biking, hiking, & horse riding. The shack got its name from the cowboys of the 1800s when they were out for weeks fixing fences. The shack is a one room cabin with air, microwave, refrigerator, coffee, no TV. Minutes from Deadwood where Wild Bill Hickok was shot and killed. 5 minutes to Sturgis. A hop and a skip to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Accommodations for horses. Quiet nights around the bonfire.
“Wonderful experience. Hosts are genuine and true ranchers. There are plenty of phony tourist trap places in the hills. This is not one of them. Lots of nice touches throughout. My room had outlets on both sides of the bed, another usb charger outlet, fridge, microwave, cold air conditioning that was already on when I arrived. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic as is the saloon with an original bar dating back before cars were invented. Both Boyce and Cindy were such nice folks that shared their lives and we talked for hours. I didn't just have a nice stay, I made new friends. Looking forward to stopping in again.”
