Family-friendly vacation rentals in Rancho Santa Fe

We had such a lovely stay at Dons! I decided to have a little staycation from San Diego after graduating and his cottage was such a perfect spot for that. The hot tub was an amazing touch for relaxing! The backyard is kid friendly, my 6 year old loved to “explore”. There is a nice fireplace that we didn’t get to use unfortunately. Don was very kind and had great communication. We didn’t see him the whole time, until the end of the trip when my husband was putting the cover back on the hot tub! He came out and gave him a hand. Thank you Don for offering your home to us!

This was such a beautiful guest house in a nice, peaceful, and quiet neighborhood. Everything was really clean and the amenities were amazing! Communication was great and the hosts Zach and Eva were so polite and very friendly with quick response times. There’s a fun Las Vegas theme outdoor area near the pool and their garden is gorgeous. There are stairs in the house that are steep so they might be a little bit difficult for someone with a physical disability or the elderly but this is listed in the description. Overall, I highly recommend this listing to anyone wanting to stay near San Diego!

This was the second time that my family stayed at this AirBnB, and we absolutely love the condo's proximity to the beach. The condo itself is clean with all the basic essentials that you need... boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and cooking supplies. Both of the times that we've stayed here the condo has been very quiet; we've never heard noise from neighbors. The condo community has several pools, hot tubs, and a tennis court plus the spectacular clubhouse with panoramic ocean views. There are lots of little coffee shops and places to walk to near the condo community and it's very family friendly. The mattresses and pillows are dated, but aside from that this condo is truly a gem.

Our stay at Just Beachy totally exceeded our expectations. It was perfection! Lorraine is an incredible host thanks to her responsiveness, kindness, and hospitality. The condo was so well decorated; you could tell Lorraine paid attention to every little detail, down to the paint colour…very serene. The complex itself is truly amazing, we enjoyed many of the amenities on both sides. And then there is the view…WOW! Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was so relaxing (and the bed is SUPER comfy). I highly recommend this condo and Lorraine! We can’t wait to come back! ❤️

Our recent stay at Michelle’s Airbnb in Leucadia, California, was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Michelle has thought of every detail to make her guests feel at home. The property is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, and impeccably maintained, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that rivaled the coziness of our own home. The kitchen was a standout feature, fully stocked with everything needed to whip up almost any meal. From cookware to an impressive array of spices, we had all the tools to enjoy home-cooked dinners, which made our stay even more special. It’s rare to find such a well-equipped kitchen in a vacation rental! The location is perfect for soaking in the local culture. Right on the beach, we loved taking daily walks to explore the vibrant Leucadia community. The highlight, though, was watching the sunset every evening from the living room or deck—pure magic! We canceled our plan to go to the zoo because my kids love this place so much—they just want to stay here and play, and they don’t even want to leave.

This aprtment is a great value. You won't find a better ocean view at a lower price. The ocean-facing wall is all glass. On the extended deck you feel as though you're surrounded by the Pacific. Wonderful. We hope to return.

This beach cottage was perfect for my husband, our 13 month old son, and small dog for the weekend. The house and linens are clean. The house, patio and yard are cute. It is located in a quiet cul-de-sac. They had plenty of beach chairs, towels, wagons, and beach toys for us to use. We had a great weekend here.

Every corner of the space is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. If you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious, and welcoming escape by the sea, look no further. Leanne and Jim’s place is a hidden gem, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic views. Very comfortable and inviting. The outside lounging area was excellent. Everything we wanted. This area of San Diego Metro is very beautiful. This looks to be a very safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood. It is centrally located to all of the main attractions.

What a lovely and relaxing home! It had everything that the listing described but with warmth that is hard to vocalize. We felt right at home as there were tons of thoughtful touches (like a throw blanket for the sofa) and plants. It felt like our vacation home. We may well stay here again the next time we visit relatives in this area. Note, this is a suburban neighborhood that is also conveniently located for visiting tourist sites. Thank you!

Perfectly located on a quiet street with convenient access to the highways and a gorgeous view of a nearby beach. The condo was exactly as described, spacious, clean, fully equipped and the parking garage was an added plus. We were in town for a wedding and did not have a chance to use the pool area but it was an absolute joy to see the ocean each morning from the balcony. It was a great stay and we hope to return!

Enjoyed staying in this basic bungalow. We walked to the beach, to coffee, dinner, shopping, etc. It was really in a great location, and they fit a lot into the small footprint.

Richard is the best! This place never fails to meet all of our expectations! We love coming here and Richard is an excellent host.

We really enjoyed staying at Robyn’s condo! It is in a nice spot close to the beach and there is a beautiful view from the balcony. It was great to be able to access the hot tub and pool, we had it to ourselves both nights! Robyn was very responsive and helpful, we definitely recommend staying here.

Cynthia’s place was perfect, she communicated promptly. Great location and clean bathrooms and kitchen. Loved the washer and dryer, clean and very accessible in the garage. Definitely recommend this place!

Anthony’s apartment was just what I needed for my adult son and me. 2 twin beds in the living room worked well as another bedroom without the cost of a 2 bedroom. The kitchen is small but had all we needed to make bfast in the mornings. Helpful to have a parking spot in back and washer dryer in unit. I really enjoyed the location next to an urban park, pretty neighborhood for walks, and short walk to restaurants and coffee shop. Anthony was super helpful when we arrived.

Teri was a great host. The place was clean, location was good. I traveled with my wife and 4 year old son and this is the first time we visited San Diego. Staying at Teri's place just added extra awesomeness to our trip. Highly recommended and If I visit San Diego again, definitely I will stay here again. All the best to Teri.

I loved the location, we could walk to coffee in the morning. A few great food options are close. The kitchen was fully equipped for anyone wanting to cook, we didn't because the food choices were too good in the area.

Will and Janine see such gracious and mellow hosts. Their place and the surroundings are stunning and the lodging is a wonderful space for relaxation and restoration. The pool area and sunshine were just what we needed. The kitchen area is small but well-appointed. it being a pet friendly space was much appreciated. Don't get us started on the bathroom! While it's a shared wall with their part of the house, we never lacked for privacy. Lastly, the value for what you pay is top tier. Highly recommended and we hope to return next time we're in San Diego!

Kris was very communicative and made sure we had what we need! The neighborhood was very calm. We loved buying farm fresh eggs. Hot tub has jets.

This particular unit is really wonderful, and the location amazing. Being able to see and hear the beach/waves is very important to me. The unit is well laid out, comfortable, and the wagon was very helpful unloading as it was quite a walk. My vehicle cannot fit in the garage it's too tall, so I parked in the open lot near security. Thankfully with construction security gave us permission to park and not have to move the truck every day. Security was absolutely amazing and very helpful! The beach is very easy to access. We did not use the pool, even though it said heated, it did not feel like it. Sadly, the hot tub was closed for renovations, which is my only negative experience as I rented this particular location for the hot tub and the beach access. It would have been nice to have been made aware ahead of time of the construction going on in the condo complex, for informational purposes. Courtney and staff were quick to answer any questions and very pleasant. Will rent here again.
