Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or are in town to explore amazing local trails, this is the perfect place for you. Fall asleep to the sound of frogs croaking alongside a babbling brook. Open the expansive glass doors and enjoy your breakfast basking in the morning sun. Then jump on your bike and ride from the house to the Harmony Ridge Trail network. If hiking is more your thing, it’s a half mile walk/drive to the Snow Mountain Ditch which connects to miles beautiful trails.

Centrally located between Nevada City and Grass Valley - only 5 minutes to each downtown. The space is private, quiet, and comes with all necessities: a full kitchen, ample parking, outdoor seating + coffee! Please note: there is NO PARTYING or outside noise allowed after 9 PM on any night of the week.

Relax and enjoy 5 acres of expansive views of the mountains and treetops! The house is surrounded by pine and oak trees with lots of privacy. Perfect family or couples getaway but still close to town. The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are super comfy! The kitchen is fully equipped. We are about 15 minutes away from downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City. Yuba River, mountain biking, and hiking are about 20 minutes away from the house. Skiing is about 50 miles away.

Sugarloaf Madrone Studio

Sugarloaf Madrone Studio is tucked into the slope of Sugarloaf Mountain, overlooking the 7 hills of Nevada City. It is a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk to downtown restaurants, arts, and nightlife. Despite its proximity, you will feel like you are in the country with pastoral views, local parks, and a quiet neighborhood. You will share the house with a totally separate apartment on the ground level. The Madrone Studio is great for rest, relaxation, and being close to nature.

Just ten minutes from historic Nevada City. The stargazing and tranquility are amazing. 100% privacy on property and at the creek. This studio cabin is perfect for couples or a solo retreat.

New deck: more shade, more privacy. My guests do not do chores. We do appreciate guests who are tidy and keep the house clean. Our home is in walking distance to downtown, hiking trails, and other activities; yet quiet for restful evenings. The large deck for morning coffee or an evening beverage. Off street parking onsite. As of January 1, 2026 I will be closing my house for short term rental. The city's short term rental policies have changed.
