Absolutely loved our stay at this Fredericksburg Airbnb! The place was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The warm pool was such a treat — perfect for relaxing any time of day. It felt completely private, like our own little retreat, yet it was just 10 minutes from town. Everything about it was serene and inviting. Would 100% come back again!

LindsayRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful visit to Fredericksburg and stay at the Riddle Haus. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was walkable to main street which was great. Jordan was very responsive to any questions we had and the riddle was very fun to solve. My two kids really enjoyed it! We would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the area! Thanks again!

Jade Haus - Beautiful 3 bedroom home

BreanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Jade Haus is a super place!! It’s fairly close to Main Street! Although for us mature adults I would suggest a car ride!! The back yard is very large and we enjoyed the birds during the day and the fireflies at night!! A great place for a girls trip!!

The Elegant Casa Agave

CesarRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This really is such a great location. Casa Agave is wonderful. From the agave themed coffee cups to the wall mural and outdoor plants, it’s quite a find. Also, an incredibly short distance to the Old Tunnel State Park and our own Texas-sized bat cave! Seriously, if you want to relax after a good day in Fredericksburg, you can’t go wrong choosing this spot.

Das Aframe at Ghost Oak Ranch

DavidRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is a great “get away” place. Private, clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Our host, Laura, provided us with a list of things to do; and they were great recommendations. Is about 10-15 minutes (driving/uber) from downtown Fredericksburg; so you have the choice to go downtown during the day and have a peaceful evening at this place. It’s relaxing, and you’ll connect with nature. Every day we saw deers, rabbits, and wild life (of course, a little far away from the place). If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the place!!!! 💯 % recommended

SarahRating, 5 stars3 days ago
This is a little slice of Eden! So many birds! I especially liked the hummingbirds! The home is even cuter than the pictures, with so many interesting artifacts from history. We appreciated how well-stocked the little cottage was. We lacked for nothing. She even provided water. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Cabin Sweet Serengeti Safari Ranch

KristinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The ranch was amazing. The animals were free roaming and visited our cabin often. Our family had an absolute blast feeding and petting them. This was an amazing experience and we have already booked our return trip. Myra took us around the ranch to make sure we were able to see all of the animals up close. If you are an animal lover I highly recommend. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Close to town but very private area. Host was so friendly and responsive.

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pecan Treehouse! The space is gorgeous—from the beautifully curated interior design to the ultra-comfy sheets and towels, every detail was thoughtful and high quality. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the shipping container pool one evening and sipping coffee on the deck each morning while taking in the stunning views of the trees and Texas Hill Country. It was the perfect romantic getaway—peaceful, cozy, and still just a quick, easy drive to Main Street in Fredericksburg and nearby vineyards. Riverside Cabin

ClaireRating, 5 stars2 days ago
My family had the most marvelous time! The cabin was just perfect. The directions were so accurate as was the listing description. The cabin was well stocked and when we messaged a query it was fulfilled quickly. I just adored being out in the country on and in the river plus it is near hill country attractions.

The Riley’s Hitchin’ Post

JoseLuisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The room is very cozy. Nice seating to talk. Walking distance to most places we wanted to be. Dog Friendly. Bed was comfy for my bad back, I like softer, plush mattresses. Nice pillows as well. Quiet neighborhood, easy to find and park. Timothy always was great at answering my messages relatively quickly. The restroom has a fan but is not very cool in the summer. We propped the fan Timothy left in the eating area on the bed in front of the ac unit to circulate the cold air and it made a huge difference for us. The bathroom was stocked with great tp, nice towels, bath mat, soap, lotion, and hand soap, shower is a little small for me I’m 5’10 237. You have to use the key to close the front door, the door knob will not latch. The tv had Netflix while we relaxed before bed. It was a great experience. We are grateful we found this place and it was available. My wife and I enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it and would return.

Amazing water view cabin with new cowboy pool

KarenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
I decided to splurge on my family visit & this didn’t disappoint. My brother lives only an hour away but we were seeing Willie at the Whitewater Ampitheater (both phenomenal) and I wanted to treat us all. Brownie points all around for my choice that are still going strong! Driving up the little hill into the driveway, we found the house nestled in among the trees with a view to the lake. Clean, stylish, roomy on the inside, my 6’4” brother was delighted with the king size bed, my daughter was delighted with the little balcony off her bedroom so she could read and watch for wildlife and we loved our big bed overlooking the front where the herd of deer gathered waiting for their corn! But the weather was perfect and we spent most of our time gathered outside in the comfy Adirondack chairs or in the screened in porch. The only sad thing about the entire time was how low the water in Canyon Lake has gotten. Pray for rain soon! Thank you, Richard. My brother will be back with his clan!

Duck Inn, walk Downtown, fenced yard w/ fire pit.

ScottRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My wife and I have stayed in several Airbnbs over the years, and this was by far the best experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we booked, Karen went above and beyond to ensure our stay would be exceptional. She was proactive in reaching out with local recommendations and even offered us an early check-in, which was a huge help. When we arrived, there was a thunderstorm rolling in, and Karen checked in on us right away to make sure we made it safely and to let us know she was available if we needed anything. That level of attentiveness and care made a big impression on us. The house itself was beautiful—immaculately clean, thoughtfully set up, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was exactly as described, if not better. It felt more like staying at a high-end boutique hotel than a rental home. We felt completely at ease and appreciated all the small touches that made the space feel warm and welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely return. Karen

Your guide to Fredericksburg

All About Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg is the gem of Texas Hill Country, which is known for its picturesque rolling hills, but also dramatic rock formations, lakes and rivers, and transformative blankets of wildflowers that bloom every spring. Founded by German immigrants, Fredericksburg is proud of its heritage, and is home to a robust brewpub culture and a rollicking three-day-long Oktoberfest. Its charming main street is lined with German signage, historic structures, and wine-tasting rooms fed by surrounding vineyards. The town is also known for a bustling local food scene, and is especially famous for its delicious peaches, first planted by a high school science teacher in 1921.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg enjoys warm weather nearly all year long. The winter is mild, with temperatures in the mid-50 degrees Fahrenheit from November to February, and the low 60s in March. During summer, the temperature can spike into the 100s, but typically hovers in the upper 70s and low 80s. April through May and September through October offer balmy temperatures in the high 60s through low 80s. It’s not uncommon to get caught in a rain shower, especially from April through June, so it’s a good idea to pack an umbrella.

Top things to do in Fredericksburg

National Historic District

You can’t throw a bratwurst without hitting a historic building in Fredericksburg. The town’s historic district encompasses 40 blocks of architecturally significant structures, many made in classic Germanic timber framing style, with heavy posts and beams and whitewashed limestone. The Pioneer Museum, operated by the local historical society, offers a two-hour evening walking tour for a fee, or you can simply stroll along Main Street, which is lined with lovingly cared-for examples of 19th-century architecture.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

The star of this park, located 17 miles from downtown Fredericksburg, is its namesake, a 425-foot-high pink granite dome that towers over the landscape like a giant piece of cotton candy. A steep climb to the top rewards hikers with jaw-dropping views. Enchanted Rock is also an International Dark Sky Park, where you can spot the Milky Way on inky-black nights.

Wild Seed Farms

Texas Hill Country is famous for its annual explosion of wildflower blooms, and Fredericksburg is home to the nation’s largest wildflower farm. Visitors to Wild Seed Farm can traverse trails in the more than 200 acres of flower fields — which include vibrant red corn poppies, bobbing sunflowers, and bright azure Texas bluebonnets — which bloom March through October. Admission is free, although you will probably be tempted to open your wallet at the Brewbonnet Biergarten, or spring for a glass of wine made from grapes grown on site.
