My place is in the most charming location in NYC, next to great coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, galleries and bars. Subway is only 1 block away. Walking distance to Soho. Room has a private bathroom, oversized windows, it’s spacious and quiet. Living room has dining and relaxing area. Washer and dryer in the building. Elevator, so you don’t need to carry your suitcases up. Beautiful common rooftop with the view of the city where you can enjoy your coffee or a glass of wine at night.
Feel free to use dining and living area, rooftop, washer dryer in the building. Elevator building, so don’t worry about carrying your heavy suitcases up the stairs. Fast wifi.
Lower East Side is full of best coffee-shops, restaurants, galleries, boutiques and bars. Soho, Little Italy, Nolita, East Village and Chinatown is walking distance away. Very charming and safe area. Some of my favourite places around is Dudleys, Dimes, Kiki's, Metrograph, Bario Chino, An Choi, The Fat Radish, Forgetmenot and Bar Belly. Great coffeeshop across the street. Market every Saturday round the corner with vintage and new designer clothing and food vendors.
  • This is definetely worth it. The appartment is really bright and really clean. The street is quiet. Everything You need is near by. And the views from the rooftop are amazing. Nora is calm and helpful person. Just perfect.

  • Nora's place was great for my business trip to NYC! Quaint, stylish, with all the accouterments you'll need for a short trip. Would definitely recommend!

    Shelby2019-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nora offers a nice place to stay! It is a perfect spot for everyone who wants to explore the city as East Broadway subway station is just around the corner. The room and bathroom was clean and the space is enough if you just need a place to sleep and shower :) Nora was very kind and provided tips for good restaurants and bars in the neighborhood.

    Anja2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nora was a great host. And the LES was a great place to stay. Lively and hip. I'd stay there again.

  • I was impressed with this place, it's charming with plenty of space for two people. The bathroom and shower are later out nice for getting ready, etc. Jackie was thoughtful and made checking in hassle free. The neighborhood is inviting with great food options, a winner in my book. Thanks for sharing your home!!

  • Jackie's apartment was fantastic. Bed was very comfortable and warm. Bathroom was clean, shower has great water pressure and hot water gets hot quickly. Really fast communication from Jackie was well appreciated. Gave me prompt answers to my questions, and provided in depth info about things to do and eat. Location was excellent. Very close to subway stations. And walking distance to a number of sights and restaurants. Overall, I had a great stay, and would recommend it willingly.

    Rocky2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish and cute place to stay! Jackie was so quick to respond to my questions and he gave us so tips/places to visit during our stay. Highly would recommend this place!

    Karin2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was incredibly helpful in suggesting things to do in the area as well as accommodations that we may need (things like laundromats). He suggested wonderful places to eat and the apartment was beautiful. It is a safe and secure place to stay and having a shared bathroom was not a problem. Thank you Jackie for the great stay!

  • Simple, easy place to rest on the lower east side!

    Abby2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, close to everything. Very nice bed with air conditioning. Smaller, but still very functional bedroom. Kitchen was fully stocked. Bathroom was awesome. Pro tip, the bathroom mirror slides open to add extra storage during your stay. We had a lovely roommate. We definitely recommend for a real local NYC experience.

Quiet, spacious, light-filled, newly renovated loft-like apartment with 14 windows. Full kitchen, full dining, full living room. Surrounded by amazing restaurants at every price range, art galleries, and only a block away from the subway. Apartment in this area, at this price, with this much light and space is super rare.
This apartment is unusually large for the neighborhood, and features 14 windows wrapping around on all walls (southern, western, and norther exposure). There's a full windowed-kitchen with new appliances; a bright and large dining are with a Restoration Hardware dining table, and a bright and large living room with a new West Elm couch and huge TV. It's on the back of the building so street/city noise is rare. Everything is freshly painted and bathroom and kitchen are newly renovated.
The location straddles the lower east side and chinatown, and his largely considered one of the coolest/hippest areas in Manhattan. It's super safe, and there are tons of restaurants ranging from cheap good eats, to fine dining, all within a 2 block radius. As well as bars and art galleries.
  • I and my 15 yr old had a great stay at Jake's apartment. The apartment is simple but lovely in one of my favorite areas of NYC, the Lower East Side. The apartment is just down the street from a great art movie house (The Metrograph) and around the corner from classic LES establishments (Kossar's, The Pickle Guys, Doughnut Plant) as well as near the slew of newer restaurants, galleries, coffee shops and more. Jake was hospitable and nice to deal with. He was communicative and quickly responsive. He was also kindly flexible about both our checkin and checkout. I recommend his apartment to anyone looking for an affordable way to spend time in a historic and vibrant NYC neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again.

    Benjamin2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy bed, clean and cute apartment, cosy and warm (it’s December!), great location (if only I had more time to explore!), kind and helpful host.

    Kate2018-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • I'm a business traveler and was in town for a convention. Hotel prices were outrageous so I decided to go with Airbnb. Having lived in NYC for 10+ years I was familiar with the neighborhood and found Jake's rental to be priced quite well. Check-in was effortless and I found Jake to be friendly and available when needed. After a long day at the convention, the bed was an absolute dream to come home to. Very comfortable and the room/entire apartment was spotless. Plan on staying again during my next NYC trip.

    David2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay again! Incredibly comfy bed, pretty quite place for nyc and good location for getting around Manhattan.

    Sarah2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Jake's was perfect for two days in the town. It is close to Soho, Lower East Side and a Subway ride to Brooklyn. Close to the Subway and Chinatown. A great location with an affordable price. The apartment is modern and cool. The room is small but perfect if you are planning to be out and about. The is a nice dinning room area and TV if you want to stay in at night! Jake is nice and considerate, he offered me tips and helped me with what I needed. He even helped me bring my luggage upstairs!

    Martina2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend. Not only is the place nice and in a good location, Jake was super great at communicating and working with our less than ideal plans. He was a great host! And we were able to find street parking not far from his place which was a nice (and lucky) addition.

    Kelley2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jake's place was perfect for my business trip. The Location on the lower east side was super easy to access the subway and close to a ton of great spots. The space was newly remodeled, everything was clean, and Jake had great suggestions for places to eat close by. The best airbnb experience I've had in NYC, hands down!

    Bob2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is small and cozy room in apartment in old building that’s located in Chinatown and close to different subway lines. Hadn’t had a chance to talk to Jake much, but he was happy to help on my checkin date and while I was staying there.

A bright two-bedroom apartment where the host lives on and off. Perfect for up to 4 friends or two couples. Amazing location, 10 minutes walk to Soho area and only 4 minutes walk to East Broadway subway station. Elevator. Note: please be aware that NY is a loud city and that apartments here might not be as isolated in comparison with Scandinavian or other north European countries.
  • Great stay. Stylish apartment. Minimalist but has everything you need. Quite large (especially the bathroom) for New York standards. Cleaning supplies, iron, hair dryer, extra toiletries. Very close to train line, bikes for hire right outside your door, very central location. You are on the 5th floor but there is an elevator. Apartment is a little noisy being on a main road and the back room is quite noisy with the trains but bearable. Very kindly accommodated early check in. Overall fantastic stay, and would stay again.

    Sierra2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent privacy and clean place. Not a place you really want to prepare large meals in but clean. Good location for downtown. Good for those under 40 or like me (67) like good reasonable choices for food and coffee.

    Bob2018-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Can be a bit noisy because of the lively area, but we brought ear plugs and eye masks so wasn’t an issue. Thanks again :)

    Renee2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place was as expected. New York is a loud place and you should have something with you to get a quiet night. Location suits for four to sleep. Rest and relaxing is a bit difficult due to limited sitting and relaxing locations in the apartment. Same goes for Breakfast, lunching or dinning. The place was clean when we arrived, yet a bit dusty but ok. Location is excellent to experience NY.

    Carsten2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in an excellent location and there was plenty of room for the two of us. I did have some issues about having to collect the keys but I have raised them with the host. The apartment was clean and tidy. Easy walking distance to Little Italy and lots of places to eat nearby including the Essex Market.

    Elizabeth2019-06-06T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely apartment in a nice part of town, very cool little neighborhoods all around the apartment. very close to Chinatown and little Italy, as well as only 4/5 blocks to a good subway that gets most places you'll need to go! Really enjoyed my stay in the apartment and would definitely come back

  • Miguel has a great place. It’s close to the subway and in a great location in the city. The apartment has everything you need. I’ll definitely come back and stay at Miguel’s place next time I’m in NYC!

    Maninda2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Miguel's! Especially the location is great. It's close to Brooklyn Bridge, the metro station and had a good choice of restaurants and bars near by. The room was quiet even though it was very much in the center. Moreover, it was clean and tidy and the private bathroom was nice to have. The communication with Miguel was easy fast and very friendly. We would definitely come back!

    Wibke2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Better then a hotel. The room is big, private and clean, with a private bathroom in the room; all of the amenities of a hotel were there. Absolute privacy yet Miguel has always been available. Nice and safe neighborhood, steps away from the subway, very well connected (direct train from JFK). Recommended

    Lorenzo2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Miguel is an ideal host with a terrific apartment. Miguel is warm, accommodating, and lightning-quick in his responses. His apartment is beautiful, comfortable, secure, and in an excellent location. This is a really wonderful spot.

    Jeff2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first experience with Airbnb so I really don't have anything to compare it to. Miguel's place is clean and Miguel truly is a great person. The place has an elevator. I've read other reviews where other places don't have elevators. Room is spacious and bright. Location is very close to the F line. There's a cafe across the street and taco places nearby. Bar is nearby if you want a quick drink. You are still in Manhattan so that's a plus. First time in NYC so great value overall. Room is comfortable and Miguel is very respectful. Hot water in shower. Separate private bathroom is a plus. Overall great place and am very satisfied.

    Gordon2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Miguel was nice and a very responsive. Convenient location. The building was nice, and the elevator was a lifesaver when I was carrying my luggage. The room was clean, spacious, and well-heated (in winter). Internet was fast (I suggest using the 5Ghz network if your devices support it, the 2.4Ghz seemed slower).

    Mathew2019-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean flat with a spacious bedroom with private bathroom, at walking distance from Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 Memorial, the vibrant area around Bleecker Str, ...and metro stations to go uptown.

    Renilde2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My parents came to visit me in NYC and they stayed here throughout their trip. Host is nice and always reachable, communication was not an issue at all. Miguel kindly allowed them to drop off their luggages before the check-in time. The apartment was clean and comfortable. A short walk to the subway.

  • Fabulous! Tunji couldn't have been nicer or more hospitable - he and his little dog made our stay.

    Melanie/Geoff2013-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tunji is absolutely wonderful. Warm and inviting, he makes you feel like family immediately and this is reflected in the space (which is clean, spacious, and comfortable). As well, the lower lower east side is a great neighborhood, there's so much going on. I will definitely be staying with Tunji next time I'm in town!

    Alex2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tunji is almost reason enough to stay at this place. He's such a lovely guy. Welcoming, generous, respectful and great energy. Also, you can't get, in my opinion, a better spot in the les. I stayed in the room with private bathroom. The photos are an honest representation. It's a good option when you want your own space but don't want to spend the money on a private studio.

    Stephen2013-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! I loved my time with Tunji and Dao! So warm and welcoming and always cheerful, Tunji is a superb host. I would highly recommend anyone interested in staying in the Lower East Side to consider time with these two. The location is right down the street from cool shops, galleries, and restaurants. Easy access to Soho, the Village and Brooklyn! I will be back!

    Denise2014-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in the perfect Lower East Side location and Tunji is the best host possible. The room is very large and has its own bathroom which is very convenient. Everything is clean and comfortable. And Tunji really is a genuinely nice guy and super accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Simon2012-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Tunji´s place!! The room/bathroom was perfectly clean. Tunji is a cool character and very good host. The location is also perfect with subways getting you in 1 stop to Dumbo or Williamsburg and Chinatown,Soho, Nolita in walking distance!! All in all i can only recomend Tunji as a host!!!

    Jan2013-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay by Tunji was really great! He is an incredible host and I'd like to recommend an everybody to stay by him in NYC. The room and its bathrooom was perfect. The area is quiet, safe, near subway. Tunji was very helpful and gave us a few adresses to have breakfast or go out. We had a dinner with him and also had the opportunity to know him better and discover his positiv way of life. And his dog Dao is very funny :-))))

  • Brilliant flat in a quiet block on the LES, super close to everything. Marc was friendly & easygoing and I will definitely be staying again.

    Marc2014-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Marc was a great host. He was very easy to get in touch with and worked with us on our check-in time, which was much later than we had originally anticipated. The apartment was clean overall, aside from some of the clutter that appeared to be there as a means of storage. I must note, the memory foam bed was SO comfortable. Thumbs up for that! All-in-all, it was a very convenient, quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended host :)

    Tatia2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect for me staying by myself, check in was easy and very through in explaining everything, location was perfect

    Emily2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Check this very carefully before renting. It is cluttered, and stressful to be in because of someone else's 'stuff' It is not really a one-bedroom, but a studio with a parapet divider and no door or wall between the kitchen and bed area. Be aware that there is no TV (see photo). Amenities like toilet paper, and bin liners were not provided when we arrived. There was no working kettle. The couch is very old, the cover grotty and very uncomfortable. There is no table and chairs to sit at. Make sure that the loose and open electric plugs have been fixed. It is a good location, but then let's face i, so are most places in NYC. Do not expect deep cleaniless, nor any 'extras'. Marc's stuff is everywhere, and you live on top of his things (eg a fridge with his stuff pushed to one side.) Yes, NYC is expensive, but you can do better.

    Josephine2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Offering check-ins until 2am sealed the deal for us as we were flying in late. Lataya Got us checked in and was really communicative during the stay. The apartment was spacious with great art & design! The street came alive at night and the location was perfect for easy access everywhere. Hopefully will get to return soon!

    Gabriella2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Marc was great. I arrived 45 minutes early and he was available a bit early to let me in. A couple of times, I had a question later at night and he still responded on time. The neighborhood couldn't be better. Close to everything but not too busy so I can get a sleep at night. Not a luxury but well setup apartment so you aren't missing anything

    Byba2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Marc’s place is in the perfect location! Marc was there when needed, and available via text. This place is perfect for solo travelers- and large compared to hotels! Thank you!

Live like a true New Yorker in a Lower East Side's best street corner! Amazing neighborhood full of history. Great location for fun activities: Bars, restaurants, clubs, cafés, shopping, galleries, museums, walks, parks, gyms, free swimming-pool.
Typical Lower East Side apartment. Great set-up for foreigners doing an internship or just visiting New York. Kitchen, bathroom, living-room. I am happy to help out if you have any questions or concerns. I know New York very very well. I like to share food, and I'm a great cook. I also love learning about other cultures. The Lower East Side is one of the best in New York. I feel very lucky to live in its center. Subways and buses available near apartment. I keep the apartment very green and chemical-free. I'm vegetarian. Clean sheets and towels provided.

  • Great stay. Veronique is a great conversationalist and host, the check-in was smooth and easy, and her place is cozy and has everything you need. Close to bars, restaurants, cafes. Would definitely recommend!

    Christian2017-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Veronique is a really nice host and she made sure my stay was very comfortable. The place is small, but the room has everything you might need and the bed is very comfy. Might get noisy at night, so take earplugs. The appartment is conveniently located close to the metro and to lots of restaurants and cafes. Be prepared to see a few cockroaches, though - that's a minus of an old building in Manhattan...

    Marta2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Veronique gives you the unique experience of actually living like a New Yorker. The Lower East Side is a very historic neighborhood and there's plenty of restaurants and bars throughout the area. Veronique was very hospitable and provided us with all the amenities that we could have wanted. I would definitely recommend staying with her in order to get an authentic New York experience. You can definitely fit two people on the bed and it was very comfortable.

  • My stay was great! The room is so nice, quiet and has a big bed. I haven't been to much at home, but every time I did my relation with Véronique was so nice. Véronique and Réglisse (cat) are great hosts!

    Sara2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Véronique was a great host! I only made it to her place at 11.30pm but she stayed up to welcome me even though she had an early start next morning. The place itself is not the newest but Véronique kept it tidy and clean. There are a few things to consider before booking, all of which are clearly mentioned in the description, but to me none of them were a problem. Pleasant stay overall!

    Tim2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect. I actually walked downstairs, found a restaurant/bar within 30ft and ended up hanging out literally on the same street until 4am (when most bars close). Parking in the neighborhood was tricky, but I figured it out. The apartment is "NY small", but cozy. Veronique made sure to have the room nice and tidy for when I showed up. Overall, it was a great place to stay. The locals told me that I lucked out for finding an Airbnb in that part of town.

    Will2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Veronique is extremely nice and accommodating, and her apartment is well located for Lower East Side explorations. You feel very much like a local here. The apartment itself is small, but covered all the bases, felt safe and has a comfortable bed. It is a good option for budget accommodations with a lot of local flare.

    Megan2014-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Veronique's place was awesome, close to a lot of cool restaurants and bars, and the price was very reasonable. Even though, the apartment is tiny, the bedroom is spacious and is exactly like in the pictures. Veronique is a very accommodating host and very helpful. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

Full size bed in a cozy room in an amazing neighborhood. Literally down the street from the historic tenement museum, upstairs from an Austrian/German restaurant, a dozen art galleries, and the Lower East Side bars.
Amazing location on Historic Orchard Street! There are 5 art gallaries on the block, countless bars, and food places!
Lower East Side is the most artsy Brooklyn like neighbourhood in Manhattan. Home to 5 art galleries just on this block and 50+ in the neighbourhood.
  • Great location in Manhattan close to the subway on the F line. Small apartment and even smaller shower! But very clean and a great base to use to explore New York.

    Steve2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Room is in great location. Step outside and you’re a short walk to great food in Chinatown, many train lines, and most everything in downtown. Host was accommodating (thanks for extra towel) and great communicator. Anytime check-in was a life saver. Recommended place to stay!

    Richard2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, super easy check in and check out, and comfortable space. Highly recommend.

  • Super clean and friendly. It was an amazing stay for me. Gave a quick tour and everything. I felt comfortable and at home. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It was great!

    Brittany2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is just what I needed, clean, nice location, and close to two different subway lines. A lot of very good eating choices nearby. Dorian was very responsive with communication. Bathroom is quite cramped but typical of NYC apartments.

    Andrew2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Alexander2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The neighbor's AC that is right next to the room window was on and off whole night and made huge noise. No way for me to sleep. Everything else was fine.

    Christina2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • D’s place is in a great location! Not much room in the bedroom and the walls were dirty/scuffed up. Bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen were not very clean, but if you are okay with just needing a place to sleep, not bad.

Cozy apartment in a convenient location in the Lower East Side. Walk-up building (4th floor). Queen sized memory mattress with pop-up desk and TV (Chrome connected). Shared common space and bathroom. Enjoy some coffee or tea before heading out, and feel free to explore the diverse cuisine of the LES and beyond in your own kitchen during your stay.
Master bedroom of a 2BD/1BA walk-up (4th floor) in a convenient location in the LES. Queen sized memory mattress with tv and pop-up desk. Common spaces are kitchen and bathroom. The price is right. Please be respectful of the neighbors. We certainly try to be.
Let's face it, the price is right for the room and the convenience. And hey, we're pretty cool too if you want to kick it at a local Chinese karaoke bar or eat at an Iron Chef's restaurant. We're at the border of the LES and Chinatown, but anything you need is conveniently located. You can walk the downtown bridges to go sightseeing, there are CitiBike docks all around us, a CitiBank and Chase in walking distance, a Rite Aid that is 24 hours, and Kossar's, Pickle Guys, and Doughtnut Plant all right there. The bars are plentiful, including an open mic stand-up bar two doors down and a craft beer shop downstairs.
  • We had a great time staying in Natalie's place. Excellent location for the lower east side and would highly recommend.

    Niall2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Very considerate and helpful. I really feel they went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable.

    Jacob2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very good place to stay. Natalie and Tim were very helpful. Accomodations were just like described, very comfortable and clean. Only bad thing are the stairs to get to the apartment but even that did not bother me that much.

    Jakeline2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Tim are such fun, cool people to begin with, and they are so hospitable!! Their place is really clean, very comfortable, and Tim and Natalie make sure you are taken care of. They offered food and baked goods almost every day, as well as very good tips for traveling in NYC. The location of their place is also awesome- close to shopping (Soho) and so many cool restaurants and bars! Natalie and Tim, thank you!!

    Grace2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is clean and comfortable, the hosts are responsive and the location is perfect. Definitely try out the bagel shop on the corner of Grand and Essex. I’d definitely book again.

  • Great host, really considerate and attentive. Thanks for the stay, Jack.

  • I could speak ad nauseum about my superior weekend at Jackie’s - but instead I’ll just leave this right here: When can I move in permanently?! 💙

    Gracie2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jack's place is an awesome deal and great value for money. Grab it before it's gone. The location is very close to both Times square and Brooklyn. The room is very nicely decorated clean. The room is bit on the smaller side but that's alright as it's NYC. The building looks a little worn out but once you enter the apartment, you don't feel it that way. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. My only complaint would be that the bathroom could have been a little cleaner as you are sharing it with other guests but still nothing bad. Jack is always very quick with his responses and is always there to help with any of your query. All in all, great place to stay!

    Tanya2019-09-15T00:00:00Z

    Jeffrey2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The space is really nice and clean! The location is also great, since it’s close to a lot of great Lower East Side finds. The check-in process was definitely a highlight since Jack made it super easy to be flexible with our time.

  • Jacks Hospitality was fantastic and a very well located place to stay in NYC.

    Christopher2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very nice and comfortable. Jack was very responsive. Check-in was easy. For the rest- the description and the photos don't give the right idea about the whole place, especially common areas: bathroom and kitchen, entrance to the building. It was a bit of disturbing. In general it was ok, but it should have been communicated better.

Limited time offer! Going on vacation and renting my beautiful room for 3 weeks only! My room has good vibes:) and is located in the most exciting and hip New York neighborhood- Lower East Side with plenty of restaurants, bars, clubs, galleries and so on. The bed that you see on the picture is actually a full size sofa-bed, but pretty comfy to sleep at. The apartment is a 3 bedroom duplex, all rooms are being rented on airbnb. Hope it all works for you! Best of luck!
  • The room was clean and well kept. Location is convenient for Chinatown, Little Italy, and Soho. Communication was perfectly clear and there were no issues. Angie even let us store our bags at the apartment until our bus departure on the last day. Would definitely recommend.

  • Great location near Chinatown and a block away from subway. Kate gave great info for the check-in and the whole process went very smoothly. Full kitchen is available for use and a dining table to sit at as well. Someone came to clean the main areas every few days. Not fancy and sometimes have to wait for the bathroom since there can be 6 or more staying at one time. But a great value and convenient.

Cool artist's studio apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Surrounded by galleries, and delicious restaurants and bars. Independent movie theater Metrograph on the next block. Walking distance to 3 major subway lines to take you anywhere in the city or Brooklyn.
  • Was a bit worried at first when reading the check in procedures but the instructions were spot on and I had no difficulty. The studio is a great size in an amazing location. You simply could not ask for anything better in that area.

    Hermin2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting from Minneapolis, MN. When we checked in the place looked exactly like the pictures posted online. The place was a decent size for a studio apartment, but we weren't coming to NYC to sit and hangout at our Airbnb, so staying in a studio apartment was no big deal to us. The air conditioning was on when we got there and the place was nice and cool (it was 97° out when we stayed). That was hugely appreciated. The bed was nicely made with extra pillows and blankets if needed. The bed was also comfortable. Towels for showering were provided and although we didn't use the kitchen, there were plenty of dishes/pots and pans if you wanted to stay in and cook - but why would you? If you're in NYC you should be out exploring and eating food you don't typically get back home. The place is walking distance from China town and little Italy where we had some amazing meals. We randomly stumbled across a small bar/comedy club that only had 15 bar stools which is right around the block from the apartment. They have comedy 5 nights a week and a one drink minimum to hangout and watch some free comedy for a couple hours. It was a great find so close to the apartment. There is also small convenient store about a block away where you can buy beer, snacks, etc. which was a nice little find as well. If you haven't been to NYC or if you haven't been to the lower east side, China town, or little Italy - I would definitely recommend this place, as there is a lot to do and see within walking distance of the apartment.

    Jay2019-08-14T00:00:00Z

  • Fresh and clean! We liked the room and fresh toilets. Only bad thing was the check in time it Said 11 but she didnt let us check in at that time! • Great location, very clean. Plenty of delicious cafes and Chinatown eateries nearby. I booked a Queen room, but they gave me a King when I checked-in, so that was a nice treat! Staff was very nice and great value for a hotel-like experience in Manhattan. Overall the noise was not bad, but since there are shared bunkbed rooms and common areas in the building, it can get noisy at times. This was my experience on the 3rd floor, not sure if it is better on different floors. Will definitely stay again.

Very clean and quiet one bed room apartment with bathroom and kitchen. Very convenient for tourists. Near Chinatown and Little Italy in Manhattan. Within 5 minutes walk to subway stations (B,D,F,J,M,Z trains) and many restaurants and bars. Sorry, no WiFi in the apartment (could be an issue for those of you from foreign countries), but you can get WiFi access in a nearby Starbucks and a public library.
Location, location and location. Nothing fancy, but very quiet and cozy, especially the bedroom. If you're ok with staying in a no frills and simple apartment but are looking for good value and a clean and cozy place to have a good night sleep after a long day exploring the city, then this is the place for you ! • Albert was very communicative and detailed with check-in/check-out and making sure I had everything I needed. The location is walking distance to many great locations including SoHo and Little Italy and is a short walk to the J train. I would highly recommend.

    Nathan2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a simple place to sleep and shower with the amenities you need this is the place. Location is great. Little Italy and Chinatown are just a few blocks away and subway stops are nearby. Easy to get to Brooklyn and anywhere in Manhattan. Albert was very helpful and everything couldn't possibly have gone smoother. Highly recommended!!

    Johnny2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place, perfect location!! Ideal for getting out and seeing NYC. Albert was very helpful I would stay again if I were to visit NYC in the future

    Mike2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Albert was very accommodating and his notes were very helpful! Location was perfect, walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay again!

    Annabel2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as described... no frills/nothing fancy/no wifi.... You will feel like a starving artist trying to make it in NY. Hosts were great about communication and access even though they were out of town when we checked in they took steps to take care of us and were proactive in checking in that we had everything we needed. The "occasional" smell from the Chinese food restaurant downstairs was a constant for 5 night stay. The bathroom is super tiny without a working sink (as described) and the bedroom has not much space around the bed (only accessible from one side and the foot) so accessing your luggage can also be a challenge. But the big apple is expensive and this was a great way to stay longer for less. Convenient access to multiple subway lines.

    David2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very good location and even better host! I highly recommend. No wifi is not a big deal at all— chill and relax.

    Audrey2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Albert was the perfect host! His location was AMAZING and made my trip so so easy and fun. Most things were in walking distance and he was so so so helpful.

The Bedroom: Bedroom is spacious and very bright with west facing windows that get tons of nice light all day. A comfortable queen bed makes this room cozy & enjoyable for two people. The Kitchen: Alcove kitchen with classic NYC fire escape window. New appliances, including gas range, stainless steel refrigerator and sink (but no microwave!). Cabinets are fully stocked for cooking at home, a nice way to off set costs on a longer trip. Queen sized air-mattress can be set up in living room to accommodate 2 additional guests. The Bathroom: Average sized NYC bathroom with shower/tub with good water pressure. Hairdryer is under the sink, please be sure to use the fan when showering.
This is Manhattan's most exciting neighborhood! The ground floor of the building houses two galleries with rotating shows. On the block you have a great coffee shop, 3 amazing restaurants and 2 bars. Wander a few more blocks and you'll find a variety of food from Italian, Greek, farm to table, etc. Not to mention some of the best Chinese food on the continent! 10 minute walk to Soho, 20 minute walk to West Village, 40 min walk to Williamsburg (across the bridge).
  • Excellent location! This small but very clean and stylish apartment served us well on our trip. Close to the subway as well as endless awesome bars/restaurants. Some visitors may need to know: it's a walk-up -no elevator! My husband and I would stay here again.

    Georgia2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as pictured. Great lively location. Small but clean. Nice touches. Great communication and availability of the host. Very noisy at night but it’s NYC. It doesn’t bother me but definitely something to consider. Otherwise everything was accurate and smooth. Thanks

  • Amazing apartment, spacious & clean, and an excellent location. We really enjoyed our stay here in Peter’s apartment. Great communication & easy key pick up. Would definitely like to stay here again!

    Rachel2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was super accommodating to a late check in for me and was super responsive when I needed help checking in. The place was in a great location and very clean and the perfect base for my trip. Thanks peter!

    Catherine2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place was excellent! Great location with lots of great food and cocktail bars next door.

    Wit2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Just what Peter indicated - nice clean simple apt in LES. Peter communicated clearly and efficiently w me, all worked well.

    Daryl2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was a great host and his apartment exceeded my expectations. Very sunny (windows face east), huge windows and bigger than I was expecting for the location - you're on the west LES near Chinatown. The street is busy and there's a ton of restaurants and bars within blocks. Watch out, there's no TV or microwave and it's a fourth floor walk up, but the space and location are worth it. Apartment was clean and spartan with working heat and AC. Peter was very communicative and went out of his way to help me when I had a booking issue. Would definitely stay again!

    Emma2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing location if you want to be in the heart of the east village. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes and a fabulous neighbourhood vibe. The place is basic but all you need and it is very clean. The bed is comfortable and once I managed to turn the heat off and open the windows I had great sleeps. There is road construction and it's a busy urban neighbourhood so if noise is an issue for you bring your earplugs.

Freshly renovated room in our place in THE BEST neighborhood in Manhattan. All you could possibly want in an awesome New York City stay- right at your fingertips! Great apartment, great neighborhood, great amenities.
This apartment is a 3-minute walk from 3 major subway lines, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown - offering easy access to most of NYC’s tourist attractions. It is situated on the border between the young and stylish East Village and Lower East Side neighborhoods, surrounded by affordable restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. The room features a full size bed with 8 inch Innerspring Hybrid Mattresses
We are lucky to live in a great neighborhood. We are located on Henry Street, close to all tourists attractions so you won't even need to take a train to see the city's best. It is: 30mins subway to Times Square, 25mins train to Herald Square, 20mins walk to Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty Ferry and 20mins walk from SoHo with tons of shops and boutiques (shopaholics - stay away!). You will never need to go back to the same place to eat, because this area is loaded with restaurants, bars and clubs. This is the part of city where New York's history started, glorious and famous. It is not Carrie Bradshaw's New York. It is rather artistic and informal than glamorous. It is rapidly changing too. This is the place where you will feel a real New York atmosphere. They say New York is the city that never sleeps so don't miss it's nightlife. It's happening just a couple blocks away. On Friday and Saturday you can be bar hopping all night and not even leave the neighborhood. There are places to dance as well. Just go out and feel the transformation. P.S. I spent some time to add a Guidebook to my profile so don't forget to check it out for some suggestions. I hope it will help you to plan your visit.
  • Jackie’s place is amazing! I used to live in NYC not too long ago, coming back to the city this time for a birthday trip. Jackie’s place is super nice in his neighborhood, and it’s really spacious in New York standard. Very unique local designs. Even though we didn't stay for too long, I like the feeling of living in a real New Yorker’s place which make my trip much more fulfilled.

    Zhuoxi2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is very quick in responding to your questions. We had a very pleasant stay. Only advise would be to provide some clean towels after a few days.

    Lotte2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was amazing! His place was lovely though a bit small. His place was in close proximity to Chinatown and was very quaint. Instructions to get into his place and also his help while leaving the apartment was clear and very easy to understand. My next day will definitely be at his place again if he’ll have us. Thanks!

  • All in all a great place to stay. Jackie is very kind and helpful. The communication was great.

    Nils2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very calm room and pleasant area. Convinient metro right near by. We felt very much like at home and Jackie was available for any question. I recommand.

    Anne-Laure2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie’s a great guy and he’s created a pretty nice place. I also felt very safe in his neighborhood and like the proximity from Soho where I spend most of my days. I ended up walking it most days. The East Broadway F station is just two blocks away. As Jackie works from home, checking is really easy (though he also has a lockbox with great instructions) and it also makes it a more genuine experience. I mean in contrast with many airbnbs nowadays that are basically just anonymous hotels. Ah and I slept pretty well. I think it was a pretty quiet place (for NYC). Would definitely stay again!

  • Chris's place was exactly what my husband and I were looking for! The space was clean, quiet, and just steps away from the F train. She is very thoughtful to her guests and provided us with information of the nearest hospital and another contact in case of emergencies. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Chris's place and would definitely stay again during our next visit to New York!

  • Central location, stylish spot, attentive host, bathroom is very small and moldering, could be improved.

    Dillon2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Phenomenal room with great location near one of the best subway lines in the city and right by some of my very favorite neighborhoods NYC has to offer. One extra thing I found in his list is that his mattress is really good, it’s something between hard and soft, super comfortable !

    Maren2019-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Good location and money valued.

    Xin2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice Airbnb, well located in the Chinatown area - close to several subway stations, many coffees and shops, even some nice bars. The appartment is small but functionnal - two small bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a kitchen/living room where you can store some food and cook your meals if you want to. As the description says, the street is always loud in New York, and windows are very thin, so do not hesitate to use the earplugs in the night table. I would definately recommend the place for people who are looking for something cheaper than an hotel but still comfy.

  • The place is exactly as described and we got exactly what we expected/paid for. The check-in process is very easy as he even created a step by step guide for you to follow. The room has a queen bed which was very comfortable and the pillows were soft as well. The futon could easily be turned into a bed but was told by my friend it is a bit uncomfortable to sleep in due to a metal support bar right down the middle of the futon. Maybe if you are able to either sleep in the left or right if the support bar and not on top of it then it would be better. The room has AC and works pretty well even for an old unit. The building itself is run down on the outside but inside of Jackie’a place is very modernized. The owner himself does live in the complex as well but you would only catch him if he’s cooking. He reminds me of an Uber driver where they would talk to you if you talk to them but if not then he will stay out of your way. 5/5 stars any day of the week for this place either than the location. The location itself wasn’t bad since it was only roughly 5min walk from one of the subway stops, so if you intend to use the subway a lot then this would be a good place to be. Good value for the price and you get exactly what is pictured. Would I stay here again? Without hesitation. Thanks Jackie.

    Peter2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Jack’s place. It is a short 5 minute walk from the F train and so it was very easy to get to Brooklyn or venture uptown manhattan. There is also a deli and a cute coffee shop nearby with great coffee. You only get the room and bathroom, so no real space to sit and relax other than on the bed. The kitchen was not clean but I guess you won’t be using a kitchen in NYC anyways. Would recommend for people who only plan on sleeping in the Airbnb.

    Lisa2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apt is owesome. It is quiet, clean, and the neighborhood is safe. The stairs of the building is a little bit old, so be careful not to make too much noise when going up or downstairs.

  • Great stay in New York. Location good for lower Manhattan and Jack had good tips for area

    Isaac2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The decor was very nice and the room was spacious. Everything was well decorated and very clean. Jack was very helpful upon check-in and check-out, and provided a nice guide around the area. Jack’s cat also is very friendly and made me feel even more welcomed. I definitely recommend this place when visiting New York!

    Raven2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • As promised in the ad on Airbnb, great for southern tip of Manhattan. Jackie really welcoming and helpful. 5mins from Metro to get back uptown. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

  • Jack's place is great for anyone visiting New York. It's very close to East Village and a number of great eating places. He also has some recommendations for good places at walking distance and is helpful and quick in responding to your queries. The room is well lit and sparkling clean.

Our new large and modern 2 bedroom apt has heaps of light and a large open living area. Amazing lower east side location near the best restaurants and bars and a great roof with city vistas. Its a genuine two bedroom apt with large kitchen. 800 sq ft
Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment available only when we go on holiday and want to cover some of the bills. This is an awesome apartment - you will love it. We keep the price low because we aren't trying to make a profit. This apt is much better than most other apts in the Lower East Side advertised at much higher prices. It has 2 bedrooms. Nice light and new apartment – large living room – open living style – wooden floors. It has a big brand new kitchen with granite counter tops. Modern and big bathroom. Flat screen TV, new appliances, central heating controlled by thermostat and in-built air conditioning. Two large bedrooms with windows and lots of light and built in wardrobes. Queen bed in one room. Queen size futon on the floor in the other room if you need. Washing machines and dryers in building. Great rooftop terrace with amazing views of manhattan. Spotlessly clean apt. Very quick and unlimited free wifi. 800 Square Feet. Noise eliminating windows ensures that the apt is a quiet haven - very rare for New York. Cost: As per calendar and only available according to calendar. Sleeps up to 3 people (max). Location: New building in lower east side. Elevator in building. Rooftop terrace. This is the quiet part of Lower East Side but still only a couple of blocks to the cities best bars and restaurants. Safe neighborhood. Very close to B, D (at Grand) and F, J, M (at Delancey).

  • Andrew was very friendly from the beginning on and answered always quickly. It was easy to communicate. As he could not be there to welcome us he organised everything so well (to pick up the keys, what we can find where, what we can find in the area, etc.), it was as if he would have been present. About the apartment: it was clean, new, lovely decorated and even has an AC in every room. We loved it! It even has a rooftop (top floor) from where you have a great view on the Uptown, Brooklyn and a part of Downtown. It is located in the Lower East Side, in a great, vibrant and safe neighbourhood. Many people live around there, so we really felt in the middle of NYC (like in the movies). The house itself and the street in front of it are very quite. There are a lot of shops, restaurant and bars near the apartment. We found everything we could imagine (lots of Chinese food, even Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian Restaurants, Small interesting restaurants, vegan, vegetarian and organic department stores, big department stores, Asian stores, Museums and many other things. There are 3 subway stations and different bus lines close by. We found a large number of guide books about NYC. Andrew even wrote a small guide about what you can find in the neighbourhood, such as recommended restaurants and shops. We loved everything from the moment we stepped into the apartment and felt like at home.

    Heidi2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Di were great hosts: it was very easy to communicate with Andrew and there was a manual available that had all the information we needed. The apartment is well-equipped and very conveniently located, a few minutes' walk to several different subway lines. To Nolita and Soho about 15 to 20 minutes' walk. We had a great time there and would definitely come back!

    Hans2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was great and we'd definitely stay there again. The place was exactly as advertised and Andrew went the extra mile to make us feel totally welcome.

    Scott2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a 5-star host. Quick responses if you ever need to reach him. Apartment has everything you’ll need. And the 12th floor roof top is absolutely spectacular with views of both downtown (Freedom Tower, Brooklyn bridge, and the Manhattan bridge) and uptown (Empire State Building). Location was also amazing. Quiet at night, and plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Overall great experience — would recommend.

    Travis2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was an incredible host. He made me feel welcomed at his home and was responsive to any queries I had during my stay. The apartment was an accurate description to what was posted online and a very beautiful space. The location was perect with great restaurants and bars nearby, and easily accessible public transport. I would highly recommend staying at Andrew's place.

    Judy2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was an excellent host, very friendly and accommodating. The apartment itself is great, very clean and spacious and in a prime location on the Lower East Side close to Chinatown and lots of nice bars and restaurants. Easy walk to Nolita, Soho and Greenwich Village as well. East River Park is also closeby which is great for running/cycling. I cannot recommend the apartment/location highly enough!

    Enrique2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time in New York staying at Andrew & Di's sweet apartment. It was just a really nice place to come back to after a busy day's sightseeing! Clean, tidy, quiet, spacious, very secure, and in such a great spot that's super close to several subway lines, all the necessary conveniences, and with all of the cool bars and good food you'd expect on the Lower East Side (and a fun, short walk to the surrounding neighbourhoods as well). It was also really special to be able to have our morning coffee (and Kossar's bagels - yum) on the rooftop - what a view! I had lots of good communication with both Andrew and Di prior to our arrival, and they checked in during and after our stay as well to make sure that everything was going well (which it was, of course!). No complaints. I would hands-down recommend this apartment, and these guys as hosts.

    Lauren2013-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnB experience and it went very smoothly. Andrew was very good responding to our questions and getting us information we needed. He provided some good area information in the apartment and the place was actually a little nicer than the pictures. This was a great location for our vacation, close to subways, buses and local restaurants. The block the apartment is on looks a little dodgy at first but we never had any problems. We loved the roof top terraces. We would definitely stay at Andrew's place again.

Located in a trendy, art filled neighborhood, on the boarder of Lower east side and Chinatown, surrounded by tons of cozy bars, delicious restaurants (Dimes is literally across the street), boutique shops and galleries. This is by far the best neighborhood in Manhattan! Neighborhood is very safe, quiet- with your occasional sirens or honking. I can share more local necessities if requested!
My two bedroom apartment is cozy, light filled (windows in every room) and clean. Kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking essentials (pots, pants, dishes, glasses, etc.) and utensils. Living room has the most comfortable couch, Apple TV with access to Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime, Showtime. Wifi is included. Guests will have access to everything in the apartment besides my room. Apartment is located on the 4th floor of a walk up building! The bedroom has a double closet for your things, a large window so there is a lot of natural light, full size bed with full sheet set, pillows, blankets, set of towels, mirror and lamp. Female guest preferred. 1 person Max. Clean and respectful. I provide sheets and towels but it is your responsibility to clean them if need be. This is a long term rental, not a hotel. I would really appreciate that you treat my home like you would want yours to be treated!
So many great restaurants in just a short walk. Some of the local favorites are Kik's (Greek) super cute environment with great food (always a wait.) Trendy, Dimes is right across the street that has great breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorite coffee shop is Little Canal, located next to the subway station for a good grab and go cup. Bar Belly has great cocktails and live music on the weekends. Also take advantage of Chinatown! There are some great Dim Sum places. I can provide a full map/list upon your arrival.

  • May and her co-host were exceptionally helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage before check-in and patiently helped with my technological questions (how does the a/c work, and how do I get on WiFi?) late at night. May always responded very quickly! The apartment is beautiful, clean, and serene. There is a washer/dryer available in the unit, an elevator, comfortable bed, and clean, lovely bathroom. They provided great-smelling soap, too. The area is great too. I’m traveling with my 11 year old, and there’s a playground literally around the corner. A yummy and inexpensive Tex-mex place on the corner (it was pretty good, and I’m from Texas) was so convenient. It’s close to the subway and a short walk to Target and Trader Joe’s. If you have a car as we did, and you can find overnight street parking any distance away you can walk or uber back to the apartment, take it! The uber or taxi fare will be way less than the $75 a night to park in a garage! The rate for the room with all these amenities right in Manhattan was amazing. Thanks for a great stay!

Live like a New Yorker instead of staying in a overpriced hotel/hostel. Share my small, cozy one bedroom apt. nestled in the historic lower east side, steps to the subway and walking distance to the coolest neighborhoods. Sofa sleeper in living room
Don't stay at a hostel! Stay with me in my lower east side apartment. ( Before reading description, PLEASE NOTE: do not automatically book with out messaging me first.) Cute, cozy, 1 bdrm apt in hip lower east side of Manhattan to share for short term stays - 1 person only for this particular listing (possible 2nd person (***no couples, see below***) Good situation for tourist looking for cheap place to stay that is more private and homey than a hostel or someone moving to NY and looking for a home base while you look for something more permanent or someone here in NYC for short term work/business. I have a new comfy sofa sleeper in living room. The apartment is small with separate rooms for bedroom and living room. I would stay in bedroom, guest on sofa sleeper in living room. The rooms are adjoined and I would have to walk through living room to get to kitchen and bathroom, so not 100% private. I have plenty of towels, linens, blankets, etc. Sometimes there may be a 3rd person staying on couch in bedroom - either a friend visiting or a 3rd guest. Please be ok with that possibility. If a 3rd person will be staying, I will certainly let you know. You would still have living area to yourself at night. ***As I mentioned above, you will be staying in living room on sofa sleeper, I will be staying in bedroom, sleeping on my bed. You will have the living room space to yourself at night, but during the day everyone shares the whole place. This is also an option for 2 friends traveling together. The price for two people (no couples) is $40 each person. You would be sharing a full sized sofa sleeper in living room. No couples. This has worked out great many times for me and have met some great people from the all over the world (see reviews). The apartment is steps to the F train, East Broadway stop and very close, 5 minutes to "hip Lower East Side", Canal/Delancey/Houston streets, where there are many hip bars, restaurants and shops. Apt is clean, has a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV/ A/C, heat, and wireless internet. Apartment is located on 2nd floor of well maintained walk up building. Walking distance to Soho, East Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and very close to Dumbo and Willliamsburg, Brooklyn - one stop on subway. You will have your own keys and open to come and go as you please. Very laid back, open minded, liberal and creative environment. Prefer guests who are the same. Not a great fit for those who are early to bed or homebodies. Guest has access to whole apartment. $40/ a night (for one person), depending on time of year. As described above, if two friends (no couples) are traveling, price would be $35 per person, per night. No deposit needed. Open to stays from 1 night to 4 weeks, possibly longer, pending availability. Also, no smoking in apartment, though outside or on roof of building is ok. Not ideal for bringing guests, especially overnight, considering the size of apartment and that I would also be there also. ***PLEASE NOTE - If you prefer to not have a profile, please also send me information about yourself in initial inquiry. I'm more inclined to accept reservations from potential guests that have clear pictures and profiles on Airbnb.***
Historically, the Lower East Side was a stopping ground for immigrants who just arrived in NYC and was filled with tenements. There is an awesome Tenement Museum now on Orchard street, not far from my apartment. The Lower East Side has, in my opinion, two identities. The eastern side is very residential. The western, more in part is a hip, night time destinations with many bars, restaurants, galleries, cafes, independent shops, etc. My apartment is a couple of minutes from the hip part. My particular street is very much in transition definitely going through gentrification. My block has now three renovated buildings, including mine and I suspect in a few years, will be completely different. My immediate neighborhood is a mix of people - a real reflection of NYC diversity - Asian, Latin, Jewish, Black, young professionals, hipsters, artists, etc. It's a cool mix. The street is urban for sure but very safe. My building is filled with young professionals, creative types - one married couple, a lawyer and hipsters and me.
  • Stayed one night. Ben was very easy to communicate with! He was hosting a film festival - wish I could stay longer and attend!

  • It was great time in NYC, Ben is great host. Helped me in everything, told me about all places that I need to see and how to get there. The apartment is in a good location, 1 min. to subway. Take care Ben!

  • Stayed for just one night - Ben was a great host. He was very accommodating with both a very late check in time and early check out due to my odd travel itinerary. There was a small mix up with booking, so I ended up staying at his friend's place, which was very clean and easy to get to via subway. Overall, the experience was very smooth and Ben was very clear about details every step of the booking. I highly recommend him as a host.

    Sarah2014-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a perfect stay at Ben's. Location is ideal, the subway is around the corner. Apartment is clean and comfortable. Ben is cool and relax. I would stay again at Ben's. Actually i'm thinking about it!

  • While I stayed at Bens appartment for a week he went in and out, sometimes sleeping there as well, sometimes not. In general he is a nice guy that is open to conversation and knows NYC very well. I enjoyed my time staying in his living room. There were no problems.

    Philipp2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything worked out well! Was a good place to stay, easy to get to.

    Anders2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • First time in NYC and first time with Airbnb. NY is a great city, but staying with Ben was even better. The appartment was clean and in a great location. I had the chance to have a beer with him and watch a movie in Bryant park (Ben saved a spot for me during 3 hours while I was doing tourism). He is simply a fantastic guy.

  • Guys if you want to stay in NYC stay with Ben. It's such a great place, the neighborhood is great and very conveniently situated for a Manhattan trip and Ben is the best host You can imagine. Hope to stay with you again next time in NYC, Ben!! :-)))

This apartment is a 1-minute walk from 3 major subway lines, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown - offering easy access to most of NYC’s tourist attractions. It is situated on the border between the young and stylish East Village and Lower East Side neighborhoods, surrounded by inexpensive restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. The room features a memory-foam bed, TV with Netflix, and a street-facing window. The rest of the apartment is yours to enjoy as well, welcome!
    * To book, please send me an inquiry and tell me a little bit about yourself and your arrival/departure. I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Tim * Situated in a recently-renovated two-bedroom apartment (shared with me), your private room is furnished with brand-new amenities, including a desk, ultra-comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress, soft towels and a 26" flat screen TV with Netflix. A renovated bathroom is shared with me. Your room has a south-facing window with lots of light and a blackout shade. It overlooks a lively corner, which can sometimes be a little noisy (mostly on the weekends). I am happy to provide earplugs for your comfort. You will have access to the roof and its fantastic view of the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building and more. The room has its own air conditioning during the summer and its own heater during winter.
One of the New York City’s liveliest and trendiest neighborhoods, the Lower East Side offers countless restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and performance venues for you to enjoy. (Pianos, Spitzer's, Schiller's, Beauty and Essex, Arlene's Grocery, The Box and GalleryBar are just a few nightlife examples). The neighborhood is dynamic, safe and has a lot to offer historically - in the past it served as home to so many of the city's immigrants that it even has its own museum (The Tenement Museum). Staying in the Lower East Side is easy, with food, other supplies and laundry readily available and close by. There is a laundromat less than one block from the apartment where you can wash or have your clothing washed, and a grocery store in the building next door. The subway (about a minute's walk from the apartment) offers easy transportation all over the city, though it's also possible to walk to many of the city's sites if you enjoy walking. When you are ready to explore further, you can check out other stylish neighborhoods nearby, including SOHO, Greenwich Village, the East Village, NOHO and more.
  • good place smaller than I expected from the picture but makes sense when you live in Manhattan

  • We had a wonderful time at Tim's. Tim was extremely helpful before we arrived and when we were in New York. Tim gave us the privacy we needed and had a few catch up with Tim over the 4 days we were there. The room is as described, the most comfortable bed, excellent location and easy to travel around New York. I would stay at Tim's again and recommend the flat!

    Tacielle2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is absolutely amazing! He has this beautiful, peaceful vibe that makes you feel calm and joyful in his presence. His apartment is perfectly located with the subway a block away and bars/restaurants galore around. I had a late check in due to a late flight and Tim was extremely flexible, helped carry our bags up and then again down when we left. Everything was immaculately clean and tidy to top it all off. My heart left NYC happy!

    Tatiana2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is a super nice host who understands about NY and can give you a lot of guidance and information if being asked. He kindly helped is with the luggage carrying. THANKS! The apartment is located in the heart of the downtown with many good restaurants, bars and gloceries store. It would be perfect if the street is less noisy during the weekend’s nights.

    Nguyen2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tim 's apartment was the perfect place to stay! It's central, you have a very cool environment with all kind of restaurants, bars and shops. Tim is a very friendly, polite and relaxed host. He gave us some very good recommendations for food and sightseeing. The apartment is clean, we slept very good in the bed and felt very comfortable while we stayed there (1 week). We would definitely come back and recommend this place!!

2nd floor New York style pre-war walk up apartment 3-minute walk from F train subway line, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown - offering easy access to most of NYC’s tourist attractions. It is situated on the border between the young and stylish East Village and Lower East Side neighborhoods, surrounded by affordable restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. 2th floor New York style pre-war walk up apartment with hardwood floors, exposed brick and a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, full size bed & optional second futon bed. And we are equipped with Rain-head shower, Air Condition, and Steam Heater. It is clean and well kept and I'll be able to help you find anything you need in the city.
  • Jackie and his roommate Andrew were seriously the nicest guys I've met in a long time. Both were super helpful and accommodating. The place works - you get your own room with a locking door and the neighborhood is great for the east side. It was a bit noisy with all the units in the building being so close to each other but that's NYC life and, I'm a light sleeper.

    Vaughn2015-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here - check in was very easy and being close to the subway was awesome!! Quiet for sleeping at night which was a bonus as well! Thanks!

    Gabriella2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is an attentive host and this is a great room at a great location at the lower east side...I would highly recommend this spot!

    shiva2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie’s place was central to where I was working in LES, bed was comfortable and the corner store is AMAZING.

    Jessica2019-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is really sweet - printed out a map for me to find AT&T nearby, where I needed to buy a SIM card. The room and flat are very clean and tidy. The bed and pillows super comfortable; the room private. The hot water in the shower is super. The building itself looks a little shabby from the outside but ignore that as it's nice and quiet and the location of this place is amazing - safe, and in Manhattan near East Broadway subway so very easy to get around and back and forth.

    Kelly2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was such a gracious host. We were exhausted each and every day and having the room to go back to was wonderful. It was definitely a NY apartment so don't expect tons of room, but it was in a great neighborhood where we felt completely safe, even when walking home late at night. It's close proximity to the F train made getting around quite easy. Jackie even arranged a car for us to get to the airport which was considerably cheaper than a cab! We would definitely recommend staying with Jackie.

    J Preston2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was a very good host, sweet and helpful with anything we needed. The neighbourhood is a great one to stay in, especially for accessing 'tourist-y' things in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Lots of tasty, relatively inexpensive eateries within a 10-minute walk, including a Chinese vegetarian/vegan restaurant. Even though the flat is in a vibrant and noisy neighbourhood, the room was a quiet retreat. We would definitely stay with Jackie again.

    Anna2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is a great host! I felt welcome and at home for my entire stay. Jackie had to work when I was arriving so arranged for a friend to meet me to help me in to the apartment. Jackie's room mate was very welcoming and overall it is a great place to stay. Transport, food, shopping etc. are all within close distance.

Private no-frills room in prime Lower East Side / East Village border - this is the "hippest" part of town formerly known as an artist enclave after years of urban blight. Now home to some of the best restaurants and nightlife scene in NYC, this is NOT a quiet, luxury location. Rather, this is a full immersion into gritty NYC LES living. There is no lock on the door. I personally live here and would not have it any other way as this is truly my favorite part of town.
  • Comfortable room in the heart of the Lower East Side with a view of the Empire State Building. Thanks for hosting me last week, hope your potted plants are thriving.

  • Exactly what you pay for. Overall good experience

  • Small room and bed, but overall a good experience.

    Marcos2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The staff at the desk were very friendly. The provided guide to the area was very helpful. It was exactly what I was looking for: a place to sleep and lock up my stuff. Considering that the ceiling was open and there were a lot of people on my floor, it was quiet and I wasn't disturbed by anyone. The bathing facilities were acceptable. I'm 6'4" so I was actually taller than the room is long, which wasn't a huge concern but it's worth noting. If you're staying here it's because you're getting a good price to be in one of the best parts of town and you intend on being out all day.

    Sophia2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
