Beach house vacation rentals in Big Sur

Honestly can't fault it, it is a lovely place and was perfect for what we wanted.

Anchors Away was a perfect get away for our family. It was exactly how Holly described and even better. They left a welcome gift which was so thoughtful and the house was right across from the beach and had everything we needed. We will definitely come back!

Guys golf outing trip. Was our second time staying at the home. Great location near the water. Plenty of room to layout throughout. House is well kept up. Jennifer answered quickly to provide assistance when the smoke detector went off for no reason? Will stay again when in the area.

Beautiful place. The home fit all of our needs and was in the perfect location. Unfortunate we were told last minute about the construction to the rock wall on the ocean side, so we were not able to experience a true “beach front” vacation. Construction started right at 6:30am. The host was however very accommodating and did offer a last minute cancellation or 25% off our stay. We chose the 25% discount due to it being our spring break and did not want to cancel on our kids. I’m sure as soon as the construction is done it’ll be a perfect spot again. Would love to go back!

We love this beach house because of the location with a patio and lawn in the front and down a few steps to a beautiful beach. We had lovely weather and spent most of our time outside, watching the dogs run, our grandson play, and the waves break. The kitchen is great if you like to cook or bbq, and there is big table for gathering in the dining room. Living room furniture seemed new and big tv in the smaller family room. The only place for improvement would be some newer patio furniture and pillows on the beds. But we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at Theresa’s place. Great location and very well maintained. We’d love to stay there again.

7 adults spent Mother's Day weekend here celebrating a close friend who's moving back to Ireland. Can accomodate up to eight if you're willing to share a bed. We had four more friends for dinner one night and there was more than enough space for everyone. The house is a little dated but that was not why we picked this place. Access to the beach, 180 degree view of the Bay from majority of the house, and conveniently located to restaurants and cafe was our reason for this place. Spent less than $15 one way to uber to nearby restaurants and harbors. We spent Mother's Day wishing all the moms and furry moms walking by a wonderful Mothers Day while having champagne on the 2nd floor balcony. Waking up to surfers as early as 6am was icing on the cake 😄. Hot tub and the electric bikes were a big hit. Thanks Evans! Definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay! Great location, you can hear the ocean right outside from the patio. A short 5 minute walk takes you to stairs that go down to the beach - lots of tidepools and a cool rock cave our kids loved to explore in the mornings. Inside the place has plenty of space and a well stocked kitchen. We didn’t get a chance to use the bikes or kayaks with our short time here, but would love to try that out if we get a chance to stay here again! Only thing I would note is some of the furnishings were different from the pictures, if that’s important to you. No hammock outside, different furniture in some places, etc.

This one is truly a gem and exactly as described. Great space, great view and balcony, hear the waves from the living room. They equipped it as they live there, we lacked nothing. Also managed by very reaponsive team, so this is a great combo. Would definitely stay again! One thing not listed in the instrux was where the not so easy to find designated parking space for the unit is and the need to go down the driveway from the street to get to the building.

The heated pool and hot tub were the focus of this very successful vacation. There were 8 of us: a family of 4 from Oakland, (Mama, Papa, girl 7, girl 3), from Chicago - a couple 37 & 40, and from Martha's Vineyard, us, 75 & 79. The 3 bathrooms were great, and the kitchen was well equipped. We ordered out mostly, from Hawaiian and Mexican restaurants. We spent a day on the boardwalk, and another on the trail at Wilder Ranch, where cliffs overlook ledges with MANY sunning sea lions, The house is easy walking distance from a couple of beaches. During our winter stay, there were high tides, wind and surf warnings. The views were spectacular. Also instructive. The father took his daughters an early morning walk; they saw a woman swept from the beach across the pavement. She had bloody knees, but was otherwise fine, but she and her two equally insane friends came off the beach. I hope the girls will remember this vivid lesson when they grow up to be invulnerable teenagers. Doubt it.

Fantastic location and home for a family get-away. Much to see and do on site and in the local area. The home is very comfortable and welcoming with all the amenities you might need and more. Can’t wait to book again!

Our family had a great time staying here! The condo was beautiful, clean, spacious and stocked with all the supplies we needed! The bedrooms were comfortable and clean with plenty of space, the kitchen was great and we appreciated the coffee bar and pans for cooking. The living room is a fun place to chill and the condo is super close to the pool and tennis courts and the beach! Vincent was friendly and easy to communicate with and check in and check out was very easy. Hoping to stay again in the future!

We had a lovely weekend with our family celebrating a birthday. The place was perfect for hosting 6 of us, walking to the beach and then driving up to Capitola and other towns very close by for celebration dinners. We enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend others to consider for a beach getaway.

I liked the property. Nice views of the ocean and vacant lots on either side, providing plenty of privacy. Walking distance from Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. Christy is a thorough host, who is proactive and responsive. I would recommend staying at this property.

We had a lovely stay at Windrush Inn - Harbor House! The location is perfect and the house is beautiful! It was well-appointed and spotless. It truly felt like a hotel, but better! Mike was very responsive during the booking process when I had questions. The check in process was clear. All in all, a perfect stay! 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to come back and stay at Windrush.

From the welcome mat message “Yay! You’re here!” to a smooth check in, Tracy and Randy’s place made a fabulous first impression. And that impression lasted throughout our entire stay. Their home was spotless and beautifully appointed. They thought of everything that you might need in the kitchen from a Keurig (with complementary pods!) to pots and silverware and glasses and servingware. There was also a wine fridge and toaster. TVs in every room where we streamed all our favorites. The beds were so comfortable! Bathrooms were beautiful with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The location was perfect - close to the beach and the pier and lots of fabulous restaurants. While close to everything, it still felt like an oasis with a breathtaking rooftop view! Tracy (whose breathtaking photography is on display throughout the home) and Randy were very responsive and had great recommendations! Easy access to SLO. Highly recommend and plan to stay there again soon!!

We felt right at home and had everything we needed for the best weekend. Our favorite part about the house was being able to walk to the beach in just 3 minutes with coffee, pizza and pie right there on her fingertips beautiful location

Wonderful space! Comfy, charming, well appointed, clean. Specifically, an extremely comfortable bed. Perfect for a single person or couple, with walking distance to the beach. Andrew and Teyara were flexible and communicative. We’d definitely come back!

Joyce’s place was clean and had a really great location. We thought we were right on the Cliff so that was kind of a bummer to have a house in front of our ocean view. But the place was really nice, and very clean! The space was really cool and had great decoration. Beds were comfortable. Kids were happy. We loved playing in the hot tub and in the garden in the backyard.

We absolutely LOVED our stay!! Everything was perfect. It was exactly as described…actually it was better! The house was spacious, clean, cozy, and super close to the beach! We loved getting coffee in the morning and walking the beach, pizza by the slice for lunch and delicious restaurants close by for dinner. We will never stay anywhere else when we visit the area. Thank you so much for being such an incredible host!

I booked Raquel’s home last minute. Raquel was very friendly and responsive and gave very clear instructions! Unfortunately, we did not end up getting to stay due to medical issues. Because of Raquels’s great communication and sympathy for our situation, I plan to look for her homes to book for future stays. I gave good ratings based on my interaction with Raquel.
