Farmstay vacation rentals in Albemarle County

We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

This was a perfect two night getaway with our family. The house is very clean. The views are beautiful. There are lots of things to do in the area not far from the house. We enjoyed taking the short path to the brewery for a couple of meals. The food is great! We sat by the fire and soaked in the hot tub. Martha’s instructions were very easy to follow to check in and checkout. She was very responsive. We appreciate that she also offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. Fantastic spot to enjoy a weekend in Charlottesville. There is a place to sit outside underneath two large holly trees, and the location is right next to a wonderful winery. It was well situated to wineries in the area, grocery stores in Charlottesville (Wegmans is 5 minutes down the road), and also near Monticello-Saunders Trails (5 minutes down the road). My only complaint is some of the dishes/utensils weren't cleaned, presumably by previous renters.

The cabin was warm and welcoming. We loved listening to William’s record collection and playing games as a family around the kitchen table. We used the comfortable upstairs lounge area to binge watch a little during the late nights. The rain showers were great! Setting was beautiful & peaceful. It was a great weekend escape. Highly recommend!

Ruthann is responsive and lovely. Her place was clean and the property is beautiful. She gives you space if you desire so you can enjoy the place. There were little snacks out that were helpful and the kitchen had everything you need. What a lovely and serene spot!

Our stay at Patricia’s cottage was absolutely wonderful! Patricia kept in touch with us the day of arrival to make sure we got there without issues and From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by her sweet golden retriever, Daisy, who made us feel instantly at home. The cottage itself was cozy, spotless, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. When we arrived Patricia was sweet enough to have the wood burning fire place started so when we got to the cottage it was warm and cozy ! She even showed us how to keep the fire going. One of the highlights was enjoying fresh eggs from the chickens on the property (as well as the chickens) — such a thoughtful touch! Patricia’s hospitality and attention to detail truly made our stay special. We can’t wait to return!

Jonathan and Sibylle were wonderful hosts and very responsive. They were very thoughtful leaving fruit and chocolates for us and very kind in giving local recommendations. The area itself is very peaceful and beautiful and the apartment is very comfortable.

We had a great stay at Patty's guest house. She had a printed list of recommendations that was super helpful. The space was cozy and we enjoyed walking the grounds and feeding the sheep. We will definitely recommend it to friends.

We had a great time staying at Sarah’s house for an extended winter weekend! The house has been outfitted with modern amenities with a cozy home feel. It was clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed the Record player and vinyl collection. Sarah was very responsive and provided a great recommendation for a local bakery for a delicious birthday cake. Would love to come back during the summer to use the pool and outdoor space!

We had a wedding to go to in Louisa, VA and we were so happy with how close Apryl’s place was to cute coffee shops, downtown Gordonsville, winery’s and Charlottesville. It was in the perfect location for us. Apryl was fast in her responses which I appreciated and was quick to help us when our key code had run out, she fixed it in minutes so we were back in the cozy studio asap. It was fun to wake up in the morning and see chickens running around and hearing the stirring of the farm first thing in the morning. Don’t worry though if listening to the rooster crow in the morning isn’t your thing there is a sound machine in the room which was an added bonus. It is a spacious place for a few nights, just remember it is a working farm so Apryl’s children and others will be out and about during the day. But they were so kind but not overbearing either. I will be recommending Apryl’s place to anyone looking for a place that’s close to everything but peaceful.

Trish was very friendly and accommodating. The space was very quiet, cozy and exactly as shown. Everywhere we wanted to go to was a convenient drive away.

Though brief, we loved our stay on the farm. Spring was just beginning to peep through and the drive and property were stunning. The inside was just as lovely as the outside: Molly's design and decor are exquisite, the apartment is well-lit, and though it's attached to a family home, it feels very private. Goose and Ernie are just as friendly and fun as everyone says they are. We hope to come back soon!

Wonderful stay with a beautiful view right off the deck!! Plenty of wineries to visit nearby as well. All around a great stay!

Our family had a great stay! Everything was clean, cozy, and perfectly stocked. The view was very peaceful. Plenty of places to relax inside and out. My kids loved reading in the hammock. We visited nearby Monticello. The Batesville Market is a great spot to pick up food and drinks.

Our group was 3 couples for a wedding at nearby Keswick. It was extremely convenient to the celebration. Everything we needed was on hand in the kitchen including coffee. There was also a bottle of wine to welcome us! We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely pool and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed in the Doctor’s Cottage. It had a king bed; generous living room and was quaint and cozy. The couple in the Smokehouse felt the Air conditioning system could have been better and the couple in the Tavern thought it was overall a little dark inside. We could not have been happier with the accommodations and location was key!

Our stay at Bloomingdale was wonderful! You could feel the history of the house. It was well appointed with a beautiful kitchen looking over the fields and an open living and dining room. There was also a large den and another parlor on the main level for get away spaces. Upstairs beds were comfortable and bathrooms were plentiful. We had a great stay and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend.

Susan’s farm house was perfect for enjoying a relaxing getaway with plenty of space for multiple families and kids. All of the spices are very large and honestly it’s better in person than in the pictures. We would recommend it to anyone and return again! The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you could need. And it was great being right on the winery.

We very much enjoyed our stay. David's place is located near great wineries and some good resturants. Very quiet with beautiful views. David communicated very well and attended to any issues right away.

We loved our Christmas holiday stay. It was so easy to come and go and not trouble Bianca and her husband, due to the well lighted, private entrance. Like all other reviewers, we were so very pleased with the extra touches she provided: croissants, wine, snacks, breakfast foods of cereal/oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit. There were helpful signs throughout to let us know exactly how the facility should be treated. The furnniture was comfortable and the kitchen just right for our needs. I was appreciative of the nice hot water for shower and great water pressure. So relaxing. Most of all was Bianca herself, always offering to help (she even helped me load luggage into my car at the end of our stay). A very gracious and giving host. We recommend this accommodation for anyone desiring a comfortable suite and extra T.L.C.

Sue did a fantastic job with communication. Not only did she make us feel at ease with answering our questions, but she also made sure to let us know she got our messages. Lastly, she went above and beyond to try and accommodate one of our requests. The place was overflowing with towels (which we loved), and the place itself was very cozy. Would love to visit again.

This was an unbelievable find! This was one of the few places on Air BnB where the hosts undersold their property. Our original plan was just to explore Shenandoah and only use their place for sleep. Once we arrived, we immediately changed course and spent the weekend entirely on their property. The farm animals were a delight and made wonderful memories for our kids. We made s’mores on the fire pit and later fed the alpacas. My daughter gathered fresh eggs from the hens which we use for breakfast. It was truly epic!

The surroundings are peaceful and lovely, the cottage too, but what makes this place stand out is the chance to engage with the animals fortunate to live in this sanctuary. They are obviously extremely well cared for and it is healing and nurturing to be in a place where all is right with the world. The owners too are stand out hosts, providing special extras for a comfortable and memorable experience, including being very generous with their time for a farm tour, and keeping the bird feeder just off the deck filled with seed. Watching a bevy of birds fly to and fro at eye level was pure magic. I am an old woman, and I count this as one of the most heartwarming stays of my lifetime.

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

My stay in Tranquil Cottage was magical! I had everything I needed and Cynthia made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable. I woke up each morning to the sweet chickens, pups and horses greeting me, and went to bed with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the mountains and then a sky full of bright clear stars. What a beautiful gift! Thank you Cynthia for sharing this beautiful place.
