Family-friendly vacation rentals in Shelby County

Our family of 6 stayed between Christmas and New Years. Like Alicia and Glenn, we also homeschool our four kids (ages 12-6). We were worn down from the holidays and daily life, so were looking for a refreshing time away from home. Our stay was exactly that. The home and property were extremely peaceful being out in the woods. We did several trail walks and explored the creeks around the property. The kids thought the circular nature of the home, and hot tub were fun too. I appreciated the various Christian decor in the home, it gave me some things to think about as we hung out. But even more than all of that, we had a wonderful chat with Alicia and Glenn that was very refreshing to our spirits. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway that is focused on Jesus and the holy spirt this is the place for you. We loved staying here and it was the perfect location for our family Easter! I truly can’t say enough great things about this cabin and the owners! It was very clean and well appointed with anything you need and the owners were very accommodating and kind! They helped with a couple requests, including a pack and play and high chair. We were able to cook a large Easter dinner with the stocked kitchen appliances and cookware. The property is very serene with plenty of privacy and great options for hiking around. The location is also not too far to get to the grocery store and restaurants. Lastly, the pool table and hot tub were a hit! We highly recommend to stay here and know we will definitely be back for another stay!

This house is in a very nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. There's plenty of room for a big family/group. I had another Airbnb host cancel my reservation only 2hr before check in. I was already on the highway with my family and Barksdale management moved this property up on their cleaning list as it had just been vacated around noon in order to accommodate us. I can't say enough for how much we appreciated that. Thank you so much for saving our weekend!!!

This was our second stay and we will def be back. The property is beautiful and peaceful and has gorgeous porch views. The house was cozy and kitchen fully stocked.

Within walking distance of several restaurants and a quick drive to a lot of greats bars and other things to do.

The home is down several dirt roads .. very excluded. The views make it worth the Trip. Plenty of areas to cook with multiple living spaces.

One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in! Lots of extra little amenities, the decor was unique and well thought out, and the location was perfect. We travel to the area often and would definitely book again.

I stayed at Benjamin’s place for the Derby this year with friends, and we had an amazing time! The house is beautiful and so well decorated. We really enjoyed our stay! This place is FANTASTIC! The interior is really, really well done - very clean, comfortable and inviting. Loved the tall ceilings, great master bath shower, and large well-appointed kitchen. Also enjoyed sitting on the porches - both front and back, and the fenced yard was great for our dog. Wonderful accommodations with many generous amenities, including a little coffee bar with lots of coffees, many spices for cooking, and everything you need in the bathroom, including body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hairdryer. A perfect accommodation for those who love to travel light. The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood and has its own private entrance, up some outside stairs. It was clean and spacious. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to return.

From booking to the end of our visit this was a great experience and lovely home for what we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with an assortment of cookware and utensils. The water pressure in the showers was wonderful. The various sitting areas in the downstairs allowed people to spread out when needed. Coffee, restaurants, and grocery all with in a 5 minute drive.

Beautiful place - even better than the photos! The backyard is so peaceful and we enjoyed a dip in the pool. The 2 bedrooms and common area were very spacious and great accommodations for my family of 4. Keegan was very helpful leading up to and during our stay.

Went to the Kentucky Derby with a group of friends. He graciously left us a derby care package at check-in. This place was perfect for 8 guys who just were looking for a place to sleep and have a BBQ in the driveway. Pillows could use an upgrade, and the closet in the bunk bed room had games and toys thrown about, but overall a good place to stay and worth the money of the rental.

Such a beautiful home! So calm and peaceful. The waterfall feature and sitting areas are perfect!! The grounds have trails to walk, a playhouse for kids, a pool, and hot tub. It accommodated our large family and we can’t wait to come back and stay again!! We highly recommend this place. 😃

Ramona and Steve were fantastic hosts. They made us feel right at home. Their location is beautiful and peaceful and just good for the soul! If my family and I are ever in the area again we will definitely love to visit again!

We loved staying at Annika’s place during our visit to Kentucky for Keeneland. It reminded us of our historic sorority house, had everything we needed, and kept our men folk occupied in the pool room watching football while we sisters caught up all night! We had the best time! Thank you for having us!

This house is absolutely fantastic. Super clean, super comfortable. The beds and pillows are amazing. I would highly recommend this house for any gathering. We were a group of four men doing bourbon trail related things, and relaxing at night next to the fire pit and in the hot tub.

Lovely few days in a great city. The accommodation was excellent and we enjoyed mornings, and nights in the pool. Will be back.

The place was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was hot and ready for us and we could see the lake from the house. We enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen, soaking in the hot tub, and making our way to the lake to fish. We ate at Cattlemans Roadhouse nearby which was great as well. Great weekend getaway.
