Yucca Valley Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Yucca Valley

Moon Camp is a one of a kind desert retreat. The home is modern, airy, powered by solar panels, and surrounded by Joshua Trees. Guests have access to the main house, a unique guest house, and a small gym. See the full description for details. This is a place for relaxation, exploration, and innovation. Between the guest house and the main home is a peaceful outdoor area, complete with a fire-pit, hammock, and director chairs. Please reach out to us with any questions. All guests welcome!
The Moon Camp is a truly one-of-a-kind, fully off-grid property. The home is powered entirely by solar panels and the filtered water tastes great stored in concrete as opposed to plastic or metal tanks. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and an untouched, Joshua tree filled landscape for as far as the eye can see, the property is a perfect home base for a trip to the park or just as a place to decompress. Moon camp consists of two primary structures, the main house and a cozy and unique guest house. Between these two structures you will find a private outdoor space, with a hammock, comfortable and colorful director's chairs, and a fire-pit. If you would like to use the fire-pit, let us know. We are happy to pick up firewood on your behalf (for a small fee). •SURROUNDING AREA• While Moon Camp may feel miles away, it is conveniently close to most anything you might need, as a Yucca Valley shopping center (complete with Walmart, Home Depot, fast food restaurants, Petco, and other vendors) is located just a 5 minute drive away. Additionally, you can hike or drive directly into the Covington Flats area of the national park, which is just 5 miles from the property down the road. Moon Camp is located within the town of Joshua Tree and is a 7 minute drive to Park Boulevard, where you can find local favorites like Joshua Tree Coffee Company, Pie for the People, and Natural Sisters Cafe. From Park Boulevard, you can drive just 5 minutes to the formal entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Additionally, if you plan to have dinner at Pappy & Harriet's (a 17 minute drive from Moon Camp), we strongly recommend making an advance reservation. •AMENITIES• • Private gym with weight rack, pull-up bar, punching bags, boxing gloves, and yoga mats. • Outdoor seating and hammock • Outdoor fire-pit • High power telescope • Wi-fi • 55" Amazon Fire TV with Netflix and the ability to log-on to Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO • King bed and four twin beds (daybed and loft in the main house and two in the studio that can be combined) • Full kitchen with highly efficient appliances (refrigerator uses around as much energy as a lightbulb), stocked utensils, cookware and prep tools • Stocked towels, shampoo and conditioner, and hand soap • Various books (many about off-grid living and cook books) and games (chess, checkers, monopoly, scrabble) in the main house • Adjustable swamp cooler A/C in the main house and a propane fireplace for chilly nights • Working vintage bike located in the gym and open for guest use • Washing machine available for use for a small fee (our water is more expensive because we have it specially delivered from a drinking water facility) •INTERACTION WITH GUESTS• We live in a separate structure (with its own driveway and outdoor space) adjacent to Moon Camp. We value your privacy and ours but are free and able to assist if anything comes up or if you just want some suggestions on what to do during your stay. Additionally, if we happen to be out of town during your stay, we are available by phone, email, or text at all times. •EVENTS• If you're interested in having a small event or photo shoot at Moon Camp please let us know, as it would only be possible with written permission. •FOLLOW/LIKE/SHARE• If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, keep us in the loop! We love seeing photos and getting feedback on your stay: @themooncamp on lnstagram or select "The Moon Camp" as your location!

Joshua Tree, CA, United States

Mid-century-style architectural project turned cozy retreat. A dramatic setting high-up above the desert floor that offers privacy and breathtaking views as far as the San Joaquin Mountains. 30 mins to Palm Springs & 20 mins to Joshua Tree. The house is pet-friendly, but I ask that you let me know if you intend to bring your pet, because my cleaner will charge me an adtl. $25 for pet hair removal, which has become a bit of an issue lately.
This is a 1000 Sq. foot modern house in a dramatic setting. It was a design prototype showcasing a unique metal canopy system, that once boasted canvas curtains closing off the house all the way around. It is very private w/its own driveway shared only by a similarly unique architectural house, whose owner lives out-of-state. The house boasts incredible 360 degree views as far as San Jacinto Mountain above Palm Springs. You will not find many other houses this dramatically located and uniquely decorated.
There is plenty to do. Check out Pioneertown, roughly 15 mins drive. Specifically Pappi & Harriet's, a cherished, Bar/Music Venue/destination. Great food & the most unique atmosphere. You should also check out the Integratron in Landers, about 30 mins drive: totally whacko science project dating from the 50ies. Fabulous experience, but you need a reservation, unless you get lucky driving up. Also check out 29 Palms Inn in 29 Palms, a natural Oasis/Restaurant/Inn where the rat-pack used to stay that's very special also... otherwise eat @ MaRouge in Yucca Valley, especially b/fast & I love the authentic Thai Food @ Royal Siam Thai in Joshua Tree. Natural Sisters' Cafe in Joshua Tree just dwn the road from the Thai place is great for veggie fare, fresh shakes etc. La Copine is a great new breakfast & lunch only spot that is a jummy addition to the local restaurant scene. The Joshua Tree Saloon is a fun local hang-out w/bands playing, karaoke nights and such. There is a locally flavored swap meet every Sat & Sun mornings in Yucca Valley bhd the Food4Less. Very cool. Lot's of thrifting everywhere as well...
  • We loved everything about Simone's house. Better than the pictures and very unique and special. Clean and comfortable. Communication was fast and easy. Thanks for a nice visit to Joshua Tree!!

    linda2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 120 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    jane2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Simone's place for a weekend getaway and loved it. The property is beautiful and the house is very cute. We will be back.

    Justin2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Simones's house is fantastic! Our best experience so far in Joshua Tree. Clean, well equiped and very comfortable. The view is just breathtaking. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. One minor point is that we can hear the highway down below, making this desert house not as quiet as expected. We had a great time and can't wait to come back.

    Patrice2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Simones' home is wonderful- the house is roomy and the space is perfectly connected to the hillside. Beautiful views..well appointed home...very easy to work with Simone at every step..she even checked on us during a freaky desert rainstorm.

    Michael2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most incredible weekend ever. Getting to spend time between Joshua Tree and this amazing home it was a dream. Getting up the hill made me a teensy nervous in my Prius but we took it slow and made it happen. The house itself is perfect. It allowed for cozy hanging, playing board games and cooking in the kitchen. It was great. Not to mention the view outside. I loved watching the sunset from the top of the hill! Simone was super easy to communicate with and was an amazing host. I cannot cannot wait to come back!

    Becca2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were here for Coachella weekend, such a great time. This place is very unique, its very relaxing and quiet. The road that goes to the house on the hill is really cool. The view is amazing. Simone was in contact with us till late night to make sure we have what we need. Tips: There is no internet here but cellphone network coverage is ok, we had Sprint and ATT, with no problems checking emails, making calls, streaming music etc. There is a nice bluetooth speaker for music. Make sure you get everything (food , etc) before getting to the house because stores are kind of far. There is a cool fire place, couple of AC systems and a kitchen full of accessories.

    Arash2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the mountain side with no neighbors every morning was a treat! The house is clean & funky cool. Loved staying here!

Purty Yurty is your ultimate desert glamping escape. It's the ideal place for anyone who wants to take a break from the stresses of daily life, watch stunning sunrises and sunsets, stargaze and enjoy some peace and quiet. Situated on 5 acres of land, Purty Yurt is a little heaven on earth.
If you have more than 2 guests, friends can camp on the land for an additional $10 per person per night. Send me a message and I'll send you an offer for it.
  • This purty yurty definitely lived up to the expectations. The inside of the yurt is clean and gorgeous, just as the pictures portray it to be. It was also well equipped with trash bags, hand sanitizer, lights and even some extra smore sticks. There is not a lot to see or do in the area, but Austin and I still had fun exploring, lighting up a fire, watching the millions of stars sprinkle the sky throughout the night and spending time inside the yurt. It's such a peaceful and quiet environment, which is perfect for meditating, reading and writing. It gets really cold at night, so bring an extra blanket and long sleeves to warm yourself up. Overall -- I highly recommend this yurt if you want to retreat and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Will definitely come back again!

    Janna2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the yurt was great! I was a little nervous about the sandy road but it was fine for my sedan, just bumpy. You can really see the stars around 3 am. Would definetly do again :)

    Emi2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely getaway in a magical location! Nothing can beat looking at the countless stars above while still having a nice bed to lounge on when you're done. Our experience was serene and I couldn't have asked for more.

    Rand2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay in Ione's yurt! It was the perfect weekend getaway to just relax and unwind in the desert. Glamping was so much fun in her chic yurt and the location was perfect for star gazing. We saw 8 shooting stars and a comet! Will be definitely be back when we go to Joshua Tree.

    Wendy2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect 1 night getaway spot I was looking for to get out of LA. Whoever loves camping but does not necessarily like to not deal with a tent should consider this place. The yurt was clean and comfortable. Finding it and getting in was easy. The night sky is amazing. I would definitely come back for a longer stay when we have more time too.

    Tommy2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little hideaway, and what a beautiful structure!

    Arshia2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. If you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city this is the place for you. Very Quiet. The yurt is exactly as pictured. The directions were perfect. The stars put on a show as well. Definitely going to make it back soon.

    Ade2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time, the yurt looks just like the pictures and has camping chairs so you can sit outside and look at the phenomenal stars

Stunning location with sweeping views. Park-like setting with hiking and rock climbing access directly from our back yard. Perfect location close to Joshua Tree Park and Pioneer town. The Nest is clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated with an eclectic twist and totally private. Perfect nature immersion for hikers, a romantic retreat for couples or just a sweet little week-end getaway for anyone in need of some evening chill time under the stars, sipping a glass of wine on the back patio.
The guesthouse has is own private Jacuzzi. The kitchen is fully equipped and you will find coffee and some basic seasonings and condiments for cooking.
Beautiful neighborhood is dotted with homes located on 2-5 acre parcels each. Pristine natural setting is brimming with wildlife. Sweeping views with giant boulder formations, gorgeous desert-scapes and a view of Yucca Village below. It is essential that all guests respect our good neighbors' privacy at all times.
  • Bjorn's house was breath taking. My boy friend and I love Joshua Tree so we decided to plan a last minute spontaneous trip to watch the meteor showers and found this stunning place! I booked it the night before and I told Bjorn my plans of watching the showers. He is the sweetest host in the world! We showed up to a brand new hammock set up in his backyard with breathtaking views! He told my boyfriend that he wanted to put it up because starring at the stars would hurt our neck. I feel like the pictures don't do justice here! You have to see this location in person! The property is absolutely gorgeous!! The house is so well kept, the linens and everything here are so clean! We had the best time! Thank you Bjorn

    Binuri2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bjorn was such a great host! He was so quick to respond to all of our questions. His recommendations were great. He even came to find us when our GPS got us lost in the nearby neighborhood. (We should have read his detailed instructions instead of listening to our GPS). The home was so nice and views were just incredible!! It was so relaxing, we wished we had several more days to stay. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone thinking of a trip to Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree/Pioneertown.

    Megan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Bjorn was a GREAT host and the property was really the BEST attraction for our weekend family gate away to Joshua Tree in the hot labor day long weekend. The location is in close proximity to the shopping area where you get pretty much any name brand chains and also a good collection of local culinary offerings. The park entrance is about a 20 minutes drive, although it's debatable if the views that this house offers should really be called an attraction by itself :) The pictures really do not do justice to the house and its surroundings. We loved our stay, and would certainly be back to Joshua Tree, especially to "The Nest"!

    Kaushik2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this home is absolutely incredible. Close to town, but remote enough that you feel removed from it. Photos give you an idea, but this truly needs to be seen to fully experience it.

    Dylan2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bjorn's place is spectacular. I stayed with 2 other people and there was an abundance of room. Bjorn was a perfect host and greeted us on arrival. He was also completely flexible on check in times. The place itself is very beautiful. It is the last house on the road with amazing views, from the panoramic windows within to the various seating areas outside. We used the BBQ in the evening and gazed at the stars, the first experience for us doing this in the desert, and I now understand why people reccomend this very unique experience. All the facilities and furnishings were of high quality and couldn't have asked for more. We only stayed for one night, but could happily spend much longer, observing the array of wild life such as road runners and kayotes. The landscape around is as picturesque as the park itself

    Neil2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have been more pleased with "the Nest". Bjorn was greeted us warmly and was the consummate host making himself available for anything we needed and guiding us through the area. His house was clean and tastefully decorated. We loved drinking our coffee outside and watching the roadrunner, bunny and lizards bound across the rocks. The stargazing is amazing and it's so quiet you can hear the flap of birds' wings as they pass overhead. We couldn't recommend Bjorn and his guest house any higher and plan to visit again. Thank you Bjorn!

    Christina2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing!! We didn't make it until night time for our one day trip, but we are already trying to come back for another stay! Bjorn kept his airbnb incredibly clean. He was very friendly, showing us all around the unit when we arrived, but was also gave us our space until it was our time to check out! I can't begin to explain the paradise that we lived in for a night, but thank you Bjorn!

    Jackson2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The nest is super nesty! Bjorn is the ultimate host, he's just so sweet, cool and casual, you feel right at home. The house is perfect, killer AC, killer views, and Joshua Tree National park is just, 20 minutes away! This is the best AirBnB experience we have had. I highly recommend staying here :) Oh, and there are a couple of great vegetarian/vegan delicious options in JT!!!

Juniper Moon Sanctuary is a sacred place covered in ancient Joshua and Juniper trees backed up onto a pristine mountain of protected land. About 1 acre of untouched desert environment to explore with the rest of the land created for comfort and healing. Less than 5 min from Frontier cafe and Highway 62 and 10 min to Pappy & Harriets & Joshua Tree National Park. Take a warm bath under the stars in the womb of a juniper. Queer and female safe. No discrimination welcome. Dog friendly (w/approval)
The Cosmos Cabin is cozy hand-built room located on the south side of the property. A cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee and tea is provided for your convenience. It has a queen size bed and a desk area for your convenience. It is the perfect writing shack. It's a work in progress and still rugged. Although all creature comforts are available, this is the first time I have rented and it was a total fixer upper when I bought it in April. We invite you to be a part of the experience of making this place come alive with us.the portable toilet gets cleaned once a week internally and the outside after each guest.
Juniper Terrace is one of the best kept secrets of all of the high desert residential neighborhoods. When Sinatra was making Palm Springs infamous, rogues, artists, and free spirits created a little corner of yucca valley into Joshua tree lined driveways adorned with art and expansive panoramic views. Despite being 5 min from the main highway, the unpaved streets and location next to BLM land allows you to enjoy the feeling of being deep in nature with all of creatures comforts at hand.

We really appreciate that Kevin was very responsive and accommodating during our stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Kevin's place was clean, comfortable and walkable from the Saturday and Sunday outdooor markets. It was great to walk to the Joshua Tree Saloon and then walk back to the house and unwind with some Netflix on the tv. The grill was the favorite part of our stay. Everything made for a fun and easy Memorial Day weekend. Thanks Kevin for the easy communication and warm welcome.

One of the best locations in Joshua Tree! Gorgeous, modern, light and airy geodesic studio with high ceilings with a private patio, bocce ball court, and other little hangout areas. 5 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree, restaurants, and the Noah Purifoy Art Site, and 8 minutes to the west entrance for Joshua Tree National Park. An easy 10 minute drive to the Integratron. The perfect way to experience the desert in style!
Please note: the soaking pool will be down and out of commission until spring
Super close to downtown, the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, Noah Purifoy's Outdoor Art Site, and an easy drive to the Integratron, the Orchid Farm, and La Copine. Groceries and food are very accessible from The Geodome and there is a corner store about 1.5 miles away.
  • Tienlyn and Nikko's Geodome is an absolute GEM!! It's central to the park, restaurants and grocery stores, and Starbucks. The space was cozy, clean, and a perfect size for me and my husband. Not to mention the decor is on point!! It was our first time visiting Joshua Tree, so I had emailed Tienlyn for some recommendations. She was super fast to respond and even sent a detailed document on local restaurants and shops her and Nikko recommended. I would definitely stay here again when I revisit Joshua Tree. Thank you again Tienlyn and Nikko!

    Clara2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at The Geodome! It was clean, open, great light coming in through the patio door, and the outdoor space is incredible! It had everything we needed to feel at home and relaxed.

    Laura2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay at Tienlyn and Nikko's place. Tienlyn was extremely helpful when I had questions and the place itself was amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    John2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and prime location! The perfect spot for a small getaway. The place was decorated exactly as shown and very clean and bright. There was a slight problem with the electricity because of the storm, but when I contacted Tienlyn, they were so quick to respond and helped out right away. Would definitely recommend, and will be coming again soon. The coffee there is a huge plus as well :)

    Michelle2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated little oasis just 20 minutes or so from the park. Tienlyn and Nikko were great hosts- communication was prompt and they provided great tips for things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend!

    Ivy2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • What better way to stay overnight at Joshua Tree, a place attracting artistic vagabonds from afar, than staying in a sweet, impeccably-decorated geodesic dome? The bed was super comfortable, and the design seemed professionally-decorated! Tienlyn was very accommodating to my disabled mother! Communication was quick, friendly, and easy. Their guide was professional quality and helped me find out which hikes to do and where to eat!

    Mira2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Tienlyn and Nikko's geodome in the desert! Tastefully decorated and my favorite was the shower, which had cool lighting and Bluetooth stereo. A perfect getaway, thank you!

    Regina2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great quiet space to get your creative juices flowing or just to relax for a couple of days! The location is perfect if you plan on doing any hiking at the Joshua Tree National Park. My favorite part about the Geodome was the shower! There was a built-in speaker that you could connect your device to via Bluetooth. Our hosts were very accommodating and informative! As first time visitors to Joshua Tree, we really appreciated the information on restaurant suggestions, hiking options, nearby markets, & nearest hospitals! Also, bring your guitars -- the acoustics are pretty amazing in the Geodome! Overall, would love to stay here again in the future!

Serrano is the name of the Native Americans that once had a camp in the canyon where Serrano, my vacation, is located. It's remote but 20 minutes from amenities, 10 minutes from Pappy and Harriet's. Come enjoy the night sky filled with stars. We live on 5 acres, as do our neighbors. We are very neighbor conscientious and friendly. Houses are spread apart but noise carries far. As for the area you will experience is some of the Deserts finest. Beautiful Joshua Trees, Gorgeous Sunsets and Sunrises and lots of wide open areas. Welcome to Coyote Cove, a 1950s bungalow style home situated in a quiet neighborhood overlooking boulders just outside of Joshua Tree National Park. We have 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, and it is an is ideal accommodation for 2-4 people, or if needed we can fit up to 6 on our futon, floor mattress or air mattress (there are 3 different sleeping options for those additional guests)
Our living room is spacious and a good place to stretch out and play a game after a day of hiking, or we have a TV with Roku where you can stream just about anything. Our kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals, complete with coffee maker (pour over or drip) oven, fridge, toaster, blender etc. Outside we have a yard with plenty of seating for dining or lounging, along with a firepit and bbq!
  • I highly recommend to stay here! Very close to the park and also to cute shops and Laura was a great host with communication.

  • Place is amazing, Laura was very quick in responding. Everything there was better then you could imagine. Stars at night are incredible. Hot tub was awesome along with the bbq. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely go back!

  • A boho desert bungalow dream! Laura's place is impeccably decorated, cozy, and CLEAN. Bummed I didn't get a chance to use the outdoor firepits or jacuzzz, but I really appreciated the fully enclosed yards for my pup's adventuring. I even got some laundry done for rejoining the work week. Unfortunately, I could not stay the second night I booked, so I let Laura know when I left, and she unexpectedly refunded me the night! Amazing host, amazing place. Look forward to booking again soon.

  • Gorgeously decorated. Easy access to park and eats. Very comfortable beds. Highly recommend and hope to return.

    Heather2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Laura's house. This house is the perfect Joshua Tree location, centrally located close to both the village and park. The outdoor fire pit and hot tub were highlights and our dog liked chasing the desert bunnies and quail in the fenced in yard. It was super clean, and Laura was very quick to respond, accommodating and welcoming!

    Mike2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Coyote Cove is perfect! Laura's place is scrupulously clean, delightfully comfortable, and embraces an Instagram aesthetic (you know what I mean) without being insincere. You know a good person takes care of the place when the shelves are fully stocked with a variety of wonderful books - I want to read them all! Unfortunately the hot tub was temporarily out of order when we visited but we enjoyed the fire pits and grill and spacious yard area. Laura has all the tools you need for grilling and serving! Pro tip: If you're driving and grilling, plan some recipes in advance and bring firewood, seasoning and groceries! A big bonus is all the appliances in the kitchen which came in handy from a blender to cookie trays to a toaster oven. Beds were comfortable - two very different mattresses to choose from plusavailable extra bedding. We walked to the saloon for karaoke and dinner and to the coffee shop in the mornings, and it's less than a ten minute drive up the road to J-Tree's best(west) entrance. We live in LA so are definitely hoping to utilize Laura's place on our next weekend excursion.

  • We loved staying at Coyote Cove! It was very clean and as Instagram-worthy in person as it is in the pictures. There were lots of plates, bowls and cups to use, as well as a baking sheet, a couple of pans and pots, colanders, spatulas, tongs and silverware. It was very well insulated and the swamp cooler cooled the house down very fast. We had a very comfortable stay overall and would recommend this to groups looking for a low-key getaway!

  • The place was beautiful, I loved the location and am definitely interested in coming back.

    David2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • It would have been the perfect jump off point for a few days with friends in Joshua Tree but for the fact that the property didn't seem to have been cleaned (fruit fly infestation in a bathroom, dirty dishes in cabinets and dirty fridge and utensil drawers, unemptied garbage cans, dirty sheets in the washing machine and damp towels in the dryer, just to name a few), and that it was rather difficult for me and my friends to cook real meals with the limited tools and dishes available in the kitchen. That all said, the location is good for access to the park and town, the beds were comfortable and we were able to grill and use the fire pit in the evenings, and that was nice.

    Mikaela2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's place was exactly as publicized. Super clean and convenient. Nothing negative to say about the place.

    franck2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's clubhouse was a nice place for home-away chilling vacation. We spent one night there and were able to spend amazing time there. The clubhouse has comfy beds, spacious rooms, full kitchen that is equipped with utensils, and large patio. We cooked barbecue out in the patio while enjoying the fresh air. There is also a hammock and fireplace outside for outdoor activities. The most awesome thing that we enjoyed was that it was very quiet. Very nice place to spend during the weekends. We hoped to stay longer but this place was fully booked. I give a 10/10 for this clubhouse. Thanks Ryan.

  • Great house and location.

    Aisha2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for my larger group of eight! At first I thought it might be a bit snug for all of us, but it was actually perfect. The rooms are well sized and the beds so comfy; all eight of us knocked out within five minutes of getting in the beds! The photos of the backyard do NOT do the real-life view justice. It was beyond gorgeous and peaceful. The house is closer into town, but the only indication of such was seeing another house about 40 feet away. I do tend to prefer the further out houses, but this was perfect for the occasion since we kept forgetting things and the market was just a few short minutes away. Unfortunately, the night we went was insanely cold and windy so we did not get a chance to maximize usage and enjoyment of the wonderful backyard and hot tub. This was a spectacular last minute rental, especially considering that it was newly listed. There was a slight blip with the cleaning crew's scheduling, however Ryan called me within seconds and addressed it IMMEDIATELY (within fifteen or so minutes), gave us a small discount on the rental fees, and allowed us to check-out later than standard the next day. Super quick responses were much appreciated and good to know in case anything happened. I highly recommend this house and I would love to be a guest again!

    Monica2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really great overall. The garage/Jbar was a little bit less than I expected but nothing to be upset over. I had a blast and communication was perfect.

    Lilac2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in Joshua Tree! The backyard overlooks a field of Joshua tree and you can view them from the hot tub too. This is a lovely rental. The host Ryan was great and the house is newly renovated inside. A+++

  • Sometimes things are better on paper than in reality. Well, the Coyote House is the opposite. Things are spot-on from the photos and it gets even better in person. If you're looking for tasteful aesthetics, good vibes, good tunes, and a place for some good R&R — Coyote House is a good option. Tim was very helpful from start to finish. The place is very well kept, safe, and not too far off the main road for easy access. It was a mellow drive to the National Park and into town. Definitely an enjoyable stay; fitting for those Joshua Tree vibes.

  • This place is adorable and everything you could want in a desert escape. We appreciated the clean, chill vibes of the place. The decor was thoughtful and the space was so relaxing. Tim was a great host and readily available for questions with prompt replies. It was perfect to have him offsite - it gave us the privacy we were looking for in our vacation escape. We came just for the seclusion and hot tub, and it was perfect!

    Jordan2017-09-26T00:00:00Z

The Desert Gemini House is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath home located on 5 acres in Yucca Valley. With a mixture of modern and stylish retro flare, we made this home a special place of healing and relaxation for our guests. Desert Gemini is a unique experience located amongst the wild, magical desert landscape. Whether you're coming to watch your favorite band under the desert stars or getaway to a quiet place to reflect, this is your spot!
The house sits on 5 acres of desert land on the Yucca Valley mesa surrounded by beautiful mountains, underneath the desert constellations. Hints of astrological themes make this a cool sanctuary that calls in that unique vibe of the 1970's desert experience when artists and musicians looked to the desert to get inspiration and be revived by the healing elements this land provides! What you'll get: Beautiful living room with record player, ample seating, oracle and tarot cards by local artist Spirit Speak Tarot, and lots of natural light. The house features mostly cement and Spanish tile flooring which keeps cool on hot desert days. Two full bedrooms, both with AC located on the left wing of the house that allows for privacy and quiet from the lounge areas. The bedrooms: the Sunset Room and Sunrise Room features a King and Queen bed respectively, both with foam and down topped mattress and 600 thread count sheets that will make you never want to leave. The Sunrise room is bold colorful with a beautiful woven rug and separate seating area to read and relax in between events. The Sunset room is very neutral and calming with Indian inspired accent pieces throughout. Both rooms have full closets and great lighting. Main bathroom has a full shower/tub combo, sink and toilet. The second bathroom is located in the back of the house privately located away from the main spaces, it has a toilet and sink; it's very important to note that this house runs on a septic tank as most desert houses do and therefore has sensitive plumbing so please be extremely mindful of what you flush please! There is a full walkthrough kitchen that has a stove/oven and full sized refrigerator and plenty of cabinet and counter space along with a coffee grinder, french press and traditional coffee maker for all your coffee drinking needs. Through the kitchen you will be lead to the dining and bar room. This area has beautiful wooden floors and a large 6 seating dining room table and the bar has an assortment of tea offerings from the local herbal apothecary Grateful Desert, feel free to try and enjoy! To the right of the dining room is a lovely lounge space that we call The Stevie Nicks room. This space has a beautiful wooden carved bench and custom Instagram worthy floral wall paper. The back of the house has a rustic fire pit surrounded by seating for everyone with a gorgeous view of the desert mountains and endless sky. There is plenty of parking directly in front of the home.
We are located just a little over 15 minutes from Pappy and Harriet's and Joshua Tree National Park, 10 minutes from the Integratron and just a few blocks from the incredible new restaurant La Copine which serves the best brunch and coffee in town! On your way to La Copine make sure to check out Moonwind Trading Company and tell them you're staying at The Desert Gemini House. There is a HERO/Valero gas station and large store a few blocks away accompanied by a diner type restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. For coffee closer to town, get to Frontier Coffee shop and enjoy a cold brew while you stop and with local neighbors, The Promised Land and the Instagram star store The End. A great local thrift store to check out is the local newcomer This N' That located right off the highway.
  • Zohn's house is truly lovely, the backyard is gorgeous, just the perfect place for some star gazing. It is a short distance to amenities and to Joshua Tree (about a 20 min drive) but far enough to have that nice secluded feel. The main living area does get rather hot during the midday heat in the summer (its hard to fight 105 degree weather) but the AC units in the bedroom offer a welcome respite from the sun. I'm also absolutely in love with the diffuser and lavender essential oil in the main bedroom... The beds truly are as amazing as described (yay 600 ct. sheets!) and the decoration throughout the house is on pointe. Zohn is a very responsive and helpful host, definitely easy to communicate with as well.

  • The perfect place to getaway from the busy city life, Desert Gemini is everything we needed to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the desert. Located on a huge secluded lot with beautiful interiors, comfy beds, and an outdoor space one can only dream of.. We were visiting the desert to see JT national park which was only a 20 minute drive from the house. Having cute coffee shops and vintage stores a short drive away was a plus :) I would definitely book again !

  • Great views and outdoor seating. Got to watch the meteor shower without clouds or lights which was great! There's a fire pit outside too that we didn't use but it's great if we come back for s'mores. Zohn has the place well equipped with essentials and is very kind!

Unique land, all to yourselves. We recently completed the renovations of this very special place and are proud to share it with you :)
The house was built in 1958, making it one of the original structures out here. We’ve spent the last 4 months fixing the place up, and are really proud to have it ready for action! The house has an interesting layout - a large main room, with a ton of windows looking out on a view of boulders, Joshua Trees, and more wildlife than anywhere I've seen in the Morongo Basin - including in the National Park. There's an open plan between the dining room and the kitchen. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, like separate wings, and each have their own bathroom. The house has a cowboy pool or cowboy cool dip, that is not heated, and typically its season is from May-October. There's tons of acreage to explore, and really adorable animals that will great you from your doorstep :)
  • We had an incredible time at Land of the Lost Boulders! It was the perfect amount of space for our group, plus lots of lounging around places in the living room. The house definitely needs a few lounge chairs outside on the empty patios. We spent most of our time cooking in the spacious kitchen and talking at the big kitchen table. The cowboy pool is quite small. Only enough room for two to sit & soak. If you go on a short hike around the property there are some awesome rock formations and Joshua trees to see. Try to get a picture of the many wild animals; like roadrunnders...meep meep! I could go on and on. Ryan was super helpful and the house is all around fantastic! I will definitely be back!

    Ashunda2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cool place! From the very first interaction (excellent host communication), Ryan made our experience welcoming and comfortable. His home and property at 'Land of the Los Boulders' are exactly as pictured and described. I love places off the beaten path and with Ryan's home I was pleasantly surprised how far removed yet close to town we were. City lights and sounds are not an issue at all giving us a full view of the stars at night, truly fantastic. With only a few neighbors around and no houses behind you, it's fun and easy to take a walk in the desert right from the back door! The beds are clean and comfy, the kitchen is big and has what you need and the living room is one funky hang. Thanks Ryan for creating such a great getaway location!

    Jon2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan was an excellent host! From the very beginning, everything I wanted and needed for the trip was laid out in an email. The place is in a great location for hiking in Joshua Tree and also getting to the towns around the area.

    Blake2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's place was the perfect getaway from our hectic lives. My boyfriend and I loved every minute we spent. From the wildlife right in the backyard, to the cozy and well decorated interior, everything was perfect and even better than what we expected.

    Simona2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. This place is Amazing! Words can do no justice. Great Location, very clean, kitchen and bathroom with all the amenities, books, games. Views for days. The Decor is so special. We stayed one night and it was hard to leave. Our host Ryan was very nice, communicative and accommodating. Thanks for sharing the magic Ryan!

    Everet 2017-02-11T00:00:00Z

    Josh2017-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan was a great host. He responded promptly and provided a detailed description of restaurants and activities to do around the area. His home was clean and the interior was recently updated. We had a beautiful view of the sunset in the morning. It was a nice stay.

The Zeppelin is a 1954 vintage 33-foot trailer home which features original beautifully restored wood interior and amazing views to the south of Joshua Tree National Park. With a wood deck and shade structure, the Zeppelin also has A/C and heater and it is located within The Buzzards Roost, our 5-acre parcel. In addition to the Zeppelin, we also host the Red Rocket and the Shasta. *The Red Rocket - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2560927 *The Shasta - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/9211356
My second rescue from Quartzsite, Arizona where it had been enclosed by a building for over fifty years, the deal was to remove the Schult from the structure without tearing down the building. Others told Taffy and Dave Force that it couldn't be done and that it would have to be cut into pieces and hauled away to the dump. Short story; I got it out with the help of my good friends Matt and Gregory and it was transported to Joshua Tree and is now ready for guests to enjoy. It will be surrounded by a large permaculture and yoga view deck over the next year (work in process now!) where we will educate interested parties on a wide scope of regenerative ideas. Buck talks and property tours are available on many subjects such as solar, grey water and water harvesting, healthcare for all super-funding , unnecessary huge infrastructure un-funding ,if you are seeking answers to these and other topics stay a few days and arrange a time for a Bucktalk ,Note : Donation of six pack of good beer Rogue Hazelnut for example is requested for mindful thought motivation. It has a rear bedroom with a full comfy new mattress. The Zeppelin sleeps four. Note: very compact bathroom and shower. May not be a good fit for larger folks. A lot of storage, big refrigerator, electric stove, electric heaters in living room and bedroom. Nice kitchen well stocked for cooking and everything else you might need. Also, a wagon wheel sleeper sofa in living room and small table and chairs, so can sleep four but could be crowded for some if they need the wide-open space. We are not liable for accidents or damages you cause. Be respectful of our property and most of all have fun!! Strict No Pet’s policy here, please don't ask, we love animals, but we are open range with coyotes passing thru and trailers are not suitable for pets. Also as part of our energy descent plan we do not allow burning of any kind, for any reason, as an edge dweller we are enlightened with the knowledge that father sun can provide for all our energy needs. We have installed a twenty-four panel PV solar array on our property main house which generates all our power and heater needs. So, we are solars, not burners and do not allow any burning including smudging, incense or candles, camp or bonfires or firearms on our property! Furthermore, we would prefer you not smoke during your stay, as these choices are harming this planet we all share and for your own health. If you must smoke it is allowed outdoors only and we expect you to pick up and empty your butts, clean and empty your ashtray etc. into the trash can provided. Please do not flick your cigarette butts onto the property. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We are in a unique area with spectacular views and illumination of the park rock piles, dark night skies, star gazing, wildlife corridors, jack/cottontail rabbits, coyote, roadrunners, desert tortoise, quail, squirrels, migratory buzzards, sunsets, and sunrises, and amazing blue clean clear skies with bizarre cloud formations all playing and working together to surprise your senses. All kinds of birds for the bird watchers, nature will find you here if you slow down below 40 mph and pay attention. At the very least you will see bunny's, lizards, and quail. I guarantee it. Buck
  • This place is awesome! The location is great, not far from the park or places to eat. You're far enough out though that is really dark at night so its perfect for star gazing at night on that patio. Would highly recommend!

    Melissa2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect getaway. My friend and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot. So gorgeous and buck was so kind and informative. I'll definitely stay again. What a unique and wonderful experience

    Hayley2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was on par with Joshua Tree's spectacular sense of expansion and wonder. The 1950's era trailer is like a museum piece with so many original details left in pristine condition and representing the retro-glamour-fun Buck and Julia like to design and decorate with. All the fun details keep catching your eye and the great view window in the living room always reminds you that you are overlooking one of the most beautiful national parks. The immense deck provided sunrises and sunsets that were pure magic and provided much needed shade at just the right time of day. However, I found the golden hour in late afternoon to be my favorite as you look out over Joshua Tree's mountain ridge line being lit up with golden light against the contrast of the landscape as it takes on shadows. Highly recommend this stay as not only being a unique and comfortable stay but a full out genuine high-desert experience. Be sure to ask Buck about how he is developing the land in a regenerative fashion based on permaculture, he is a wealth of knowledge. Will definitely come back to see how this "work in progress", progresses and to stay in the other three unique 50's era trailers also on the land.

    Tim2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome. We had never stayed in a trailer before, but were happily surprised how cozy and comfortable it was. Buck and Patricia were great hosts and were very helpful throughout the entire visit. Buck was very friendly and showed us around the work he has done to make his property have less of an impact on the world. It was very cool to see somebody actually using renewable, sustainable practices to teach and make the world a cleaner and livable place. As you can see in the photos, this trailer is lofted above the ground quite a bit. This is great for privacy and seclusion. Overall we had a great stay in the desert, had a couple awesome hikes in JT, saw Pioneer town, local desert art, and saw some amazing sunsets. We will be recommending and coming back!

  • The place was ideally located on my way back to LA from Grand Canyon. It was comfy, nicely decorated and they were really nice people. Everything you need is close by. The only little note was that I could hear their TV.

  • Krystle is awesome and welcoming. We only stayed one night but felt totally at home. We dug the flamingo decor and the coffee in the morning. Also the rain shower head was a huge plus. You definitely get a bang for your buck with this place. It's clean, comfortable and safe.

    Angela 2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved Krystle's place. It was very clean, it has a nice bathroom (and a great shower!!) and they thought of all little details. They were extremely kind and gave us great suggestions for restaurants in the neighbourhood. Very close to Joshua Tree. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely recommend!

  • My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful stay at Krystle and Paul's place! Our room and the rest of the house was super clean & decorated so cutely. They were very warm & friendly people and we would most definitely stay here again!

  • Cute, clean and comfortable room. Excellent shower and bathroom. Hosts were also super friendly. Great place to stay when visiting Joshua tree

    stephanie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Krystle and Paul are amazing people, i've never met such nice hosts, ever. The room and place is exactly as nice and beautiful as you see on the pictures. The bathroom is better then 95% of the hotels, and everything is very clean. On top of it all everything you want to know about restaurants, things to do, just ask paul or crystle and they will name like a 100 things. Long story short; an awesome stay for a great price!

    Rimmer2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Super friendly military couple. They communicated great and even came by to let me in, show me the house and greet me. Nice digs with own private bathroom and very colorful guestroom. Great location close to two horse rescues and a bunch of restaurants and shopping. Very big backyard with amazing views. Very nice stay, will book again when I am back in the area. Super friendly

This is a five bed private room with private bathroom and 360 degree patio. Access to kitchen, family room, pool, sauna. 5 acres, hikes rite out back. It would be a great place for young adults going to music festivals or national monument. dog friendly, minutes from town and park. • Every once in awhile you come across a gem of a property. Of the many AirBnb cabins in Joshua Tree I have rented there is nothing quite like this in all of Joshua Tree. Magick is super laid back, easily available for questions, and took great care in decorating this phenomenal property. He is very kind and highly spiritual and is one of those rare people you meet that you are instantly connected too. Here is all the reasons why this is the BEST cabin in Joshua Tree. 1. His property is the last house on the street and is surrounded by amazing rock formations. You can hike to the top of a 700 ft mountain from his backyard. 2. You can actually camp out in multiple areas surrounding the property. There is a massive firepit next to the mountain with stargazing all night. Or you can sleep on the circular patio on the top floor of the dome. The dome has 5 single beds with amazing skylights if you'd rather sleep indoors. 3. There is a vortex, art pieces, sweatlodge, paintings, horseshoes, abandoned sheds, etc perfect for Photoshoots, or Music Videos. (note his production rates are higher but extremely low comparatively to other Air Bnbs which charge an outrageous amount for commercial photography or film) You won't get a better deal for what this property has to offer. 4. Note only does he have a huge lap pool but this pool is indoors! Pool Room has window views of the desert and amazing skylights. Sauna Room. Stereo System. Big bathroom, Kitchen is massive with commercial size fridge. Hot plate stove and propane or charcoal bbq right outside. 5. Property sits only a couple miles from Quail Rd which turns into Park blvd which is the main entrance to the park. You can see the ranger station from his backyard. 6. Less than 10 minutes from town where you can get groceries and firewood. 7. Privacy. Insanely quiet as he is the last house on the street. No other cabin within 100 yards of his property. 8. Small gym and yoga studio with mats inside his garage. Overall this place is ideal for small photoshoots. Writers retreat. Editing. Hiking. And everything you need right on his property. (Did I mention indoor pool?) Thank you guys so much for the amazing weekend out there!

  • Travis was an exceptional host. He communicated throughout the entire experience, offering suggestions for dining and shopping. The home is a great value. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies. We had a minor issue that Travis resolved quickly and professionally. I would recommend this property for a great location and price. Thanks Travis!

  • Great communication from the host and a very convenient location. Close to everything.

    Katie2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Travis was a very communicative host. He provided snacks and plenty of towels/linens, as well as some great suggestions for attractions in the area. The house is spacious and close to Joshua Tree National Park. We had plenty of room as four adults traveling together. The beds were all large and comfortable, as well.

    Anne2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Travis's house was great and we enjoyed our stay very much. The pool table in the house and the games that were set up in the backyard are great, especially if you book the house for several people like we did. Travis clearly put a lot of thought into creating a very hospitable and welcoming home and was regularly in touch with us, inquiring about our wellbeing and proposing things to do and see. We can only recommend this beautiful home! Thanks

  • This place was fantastic! It was just as described in the info. The air conditioning worked great and cooled down the house very fast. The beds were very comfy and cozy. Gorgeous desert landscapes surround this 1950's homestead cabin. The property, on 5+ acres is surrounded by an additional 15 acres of BLM land. This creates an amazing opportunity to feel the desert, see the stars and unplug from city life. While maintaining the original feeling of the homestead a few things have been added for convenience: AC is wonderful in the summer, a ceramic heater for winter nights. Regardless the season, you will enjoy the striking desert boutique outdoor shower.
The house is small and quaint on the north side of Joshua Tree were residences meet open sky and desert landscape. The property is two buildings, the 1950 homestead cabin plus a 1950 trailer, fully restored. The property can accommodate 3 people comfortably, 2 in the house on the custom built double bed, plus one in the trailer on a bed that is called a double short. Since we kept to the original lay out as much as possible, you will find the bathroom and shower are accessed from outside. The kitchen is equipped with hot plate, toaster oven, electric kettle which means there is no stove.
North Joshua Tree is the least populated. This affords you a deep desert experience.
  • Great place to get away from the commotion of the city.

    Jonathan2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were a looking for a place of solitude to give thanks during the Equinox. We felt very much welcomed while we were there and of course, "The Shower". Thank you,

  • I've been very excited to write a review for Sati. Her home is a true gem! The home is decorated with a lot of detail and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The trailer is an additional touch! Spent a few hours there, relaxing and enjoying the desert. The best experience was the outdoor shower! Home is in a great location, secluded but a 20 min drive to the city and close to Joshua Tree National Park. I highly recommend this beautiful home.

Up the hill from the Joshua Tree Retreat Center and a 12 minute drive to Joshua Tree Park Drive. Large suite of rooms, private entrance, kitchenette/dining, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. New hot tub with suite; views of Pipes Canyon. Quiet 10 acre gracious property, near Pappy and Harriet's. We host one guest or guest couple at a time.
Fully contained, private suite, adjacent to hot tub and outdoor Weber grill. Relaxed and well appointed, the space is done in a pleasant, unassuming manner, with high end, comfortable easy chairs and period antiques.
  • We had a great two night stay at starry ranch. The place was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we could have desired. Hot tub was well maintained. Short drive to all attractions. Booking, check in/out was very easy. Virginia was warm and helpful.

    guthrie2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Virginia's place was great. The location was very convenient to Joshua Tree Park. Checkin was easy, and the place is very well appointed. Virginia has anticipated her guests needs, and the suite is equipped with anything a traveler might need. Stargazing from the hottub was wonderful too!

    Emily2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place definitely exceeded our expectations. I took my partner (and our dog) here for a little birthday getaway from Los Angeles. Virginia made us all feel more than welcome and comfortable in her home. We loved how secluded it was, especially because we took advantage of the hot tub on more than one occasion--which is absolutely amazing. The coffee and cereal for the morning were also a big plus! We really liked her dog Kinny as well, he got along great with our dog and they had TONS of space to romp around together. I would definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks Virginia!! P.S. Make sure you check out Pappy and Harriet's!

    Kenna2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Virginina's bnb is a gem! She is a wonderful host, and very knowledgeable about Joshua Tree Park. The room is way better than the pictures, very spacious and she left many small amenities for us to ensure a comfortable stay. Her accommodations were very clean the bed and pillows were super comfy, and the view of the stars and mountains from the hot tub can't be beat. Such a wonderful and appreciated touch after a long day of hiking the park! I can't say enough what a wonderful stay we had at her bnb, if we are beck in the area we will absolutely stay here again!

    Megan2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Virginia was the best host I've had with AirBnb. Just so nice. The space is well thought out, well equipped, and spacious. We loved the breakfast cereal with raisins and almond milk too:) lots to like about her place. Jacuzzi and binoculars you'll love.

    andrea2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Virginias home was very cool. The home is exactly as described and everything was as you can see on the pictures. The very special experience was the hot tub at night where we could watch the stars. We absolutely recommend Virginias home.

    Tobi2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the third time I've stayed at Star E. Ranch. I was curious to see if Virginia was still as enthusiastic as she was when she first started or if she would eventually grow wearisome of keeping up with all the prestine details that set her apart from the average. I must say it was even NICER than the last visit if that was even possible. She provides all the last minute items you may have left behind, wine opener, nail file, q-tips, binoculars.. So gracious and lovely. P.S., dog lovers encouraged. Her pups will come great you, Kennedy is very vocal but super friendly and handsome. Just give him a knee and he will quiet down and be all yours ♡

    Danielle2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was so wonderful. The home is secluded, quiet, and peaceful. It's close to Joshua Tree National Park, so we were able to go on morning and evening hikes and come home for a nap during the hottest park of the day. We enjoyed watching the stars from the hottub. The bed was comfy, and the place was set up with everything we needed. Thank you so much Virginia!

Luxurious vintage airstream at The Whole compound, 2 miles up a dirt road, surrounded by nature, hikes, other great trailers. Shared kitchen and bathroom in main house, otherwise super private and lovely. Airstream recently purchased from a 97-year-old woman who bought it new & kept the interior in showroom condition. It's really like stepping back in time. Communal vibe on the compound, but plenty of space to retreat. See reviews for other trailers on same property to get an idea of the vibe!
  • Tao was very communicative and awesome! Was there to greet me as soon as I pulled up. I stayed in the 1975 Airstream and it's fantastic, like stepping back in time and very clean. The area itself is beautiful and secluded, so if that's what you're looking for, you've found the right place. Thankful for this space and its serenity, will be back!

  • Tao's property was spectacularly picturesque and extremely peaceful. Access to the main house on the property was nice for any of the modern conveniences needed (kitchen, wifi, bathroom, white piano, etc). My trailer was very airy and breezy at night and the AC was great during the day. Location was slightly adventurous for my tiny car but still very convenient to virtually anything in Joshua Tree. Would definitely stay here again.

    Keith2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay in the airstream was above and beyond, however, the real gem is Tao himself. A joy of a human being, he has created a space for others to gather, reflect, retreat or come together. The main house, put together with a tastefully unique vintage/creative aesthetic, gives way to enjoy all of the luxuries of a full home: a shower/ restroom, a full kitchen with a large family table for dining, and living room space for lounging. The vintage airstream is in impeccable original condition, providing all the necessary comforts and a travel back in time. The views are stunning, nuzzled on top of a desert hill in a private property. We drank great wine, cooked exceptional food, had invigorating laughs and slipped off the weight of city life for the two days of our stay. All of the other couples/ individuals staying on the property were exceptional people who contributed to the wonderful energy of the space. Tao is a unique, shining human and I'm blessed to now call him a friend.

    Lynn2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tao was a most gracious host. I came there for solitude and seclusion and that is exactly what I got. I stayed in the AirStream, but the air conditioning kept tripping the breaker in the peak hours of day. Tao, the gracious host that he was, remidied the situation by going out and buying a bigger cable for the power consumption. The cable cost him more than my 2 nights stay. A very graciuos host and I would like to come again.

    Paul2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tao's place is simply magical. In such a stunning setting, the airstreams and RV's couldn't be more comfortable. Tao is the host with the most, his welcoming and generous spirit made for the perfect, memorable trip. I can't wait to return.

    Lauren2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place and supportive host!

    Corinne2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tao is an excellent host and his space is incredible. His property has a few different campers on it and the view is so beautiful, it felt really inclusive and communal, but also refreshing and removed - would fit whatever you're looking for. The best retreat spot. You're only about three miles away from town, so the location is great as well. Tao was accommodating with our check-in time, really hospitable, and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Take a drive down a winding dirt road and come relax at a secluded spot in Joshua Tree! This funky homestead offers an authentic desert scene within the comfort of a lofted style cabin, with a classic twist on a glamping experience. We are located just 7 minutes away from downtown Joshua Tree and the Visitor’s Center, and 15 minutes from the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.
The simplicity and serenity of the large 20 acre property provides the perfect place for a get-away, complete with a front porch swing for taking in the beautiful views. This homestead is totally off of the grid (so there is no running water or electricity), but we hope that you will feel that you have all of the amenities you need to have a luxurious camping adventure. Eclectic and bright, our space should make you feel right at home. Queen sized mattress nestled into a cozy alcove is the primary sleeping accommodation, which is ideal for a romantic weekend. Although there is no running water on the property, there is a charming traditional outhouse which is well-kept and sanitary. In addition, we have ensured there is plenty of filtered water for drinking and washing during your stay. Please use what you need, while keeping our precious environment in mind. A washing basin, basic toiletries, and cloths are provided for sponge-bathing. Our friends at Coyote Corner have coin operated showers; take a rinse off on us! We’ll leave some coins in the brown jar in the window for you. During the summer season, we ask that you use the outdoor fire pit and chairs that are included as a part of your stay. We ask that until the winter season, the indoor wood burning stove be simply a part of the aesthetic. -Lighting is universally battery powered, and we do not currently have any sources for plugging in electronics. If you need to charge a cell phone or laptop, please visit our friends at Frontier for a coffee and a plug-in.

  • Brooke and Kyle were the kindest hosts I've met with clear communication and easy check-in. Every detail was thought of for their small cabin in the desert to make it homey and comfortable. I'll definitely be staying again.

  • Brooke and Kyle have created a beautiful home perfect for taking time away from reality/the world. The bed is extremely comfortable and the small kitchenette comes with plates, utensils, cups, etc. They have provided more than enough battery operated light sources and have set up a fun fire pit to hang out at. I've already shared this Airbnb opportunity with my friends and highly recommend it!

  • My boyfriend and two dogs stayed 4 nights at Brian's place and it was absolutely perfect. Location was close to the local bars and restaurants, space was cozy and my dogs had plenty of landscape to roam around outside. I would advise being with your dogs while outside because the house doesn't have a fence and right after I came inside with the dogs after sunrise, I saw a coyote walk right through the property in broad day light. Definitely really cool to see up close, but not so much for my pups! I highly recommend this place for a quiet getaway and will definitely be returning!

  • Sarah's place was nothing short of amazing! We rented the main cabin and the twin cabin. Sleeping areas were super comfy (my husband is very picky) and exceptionally clean. The common areas were cute, comfortable and so peaceful. We loved this place so much and are looking forward to going back!

  • This little desert oasis was the perfect last minute getaway. Sarah was super quick to respond and made it a breeze to check in. The studio was quiet, clean and a great place to relax. Would definitely come back!

  • This is a little desert gem. It's close enough to other homes so you don't feel too isolated, but far enough away from everything to see all the stars at night. It's perfectly situated to watch the sunrise, and it has just the right seating options to do so (chairs, a hammock, etc.). The kitchen and bathroom are well supplied and the AC kept the tiny cabin cool quickly and easily. My girlfriend and I are already making plans to stay here again. Highly recommended.

  • This cabin is everything we were looking for- simple, but cute. Central but private. Every detail of the cabin's design was so clever and functional, and we loved the location. It was a quick drive to the store or the park entrance, but being up the hill a bit gave us great views of the valley and mountains. Sarah was quick to reply and provided clear instructions, as well as many guide books in the cabin to help us plan our days. Couldn't have asked for a better home-base to explore the area!

  • What a perfect little oasis in the desert! We had a wonderful time watching shooting stars from the hot tub, roasting marshmallows and enjoying our meals outside. Would highly recommend this spot to everyone!

  • Sun Mesa cottage is a sweet and comfortable cottage to stay while visiting Joshua Tree and its surroundings. I found it to be the perfect spot for my solo trip to the desert. Quiet, clean, great location, and super cute! Especially loved the outside patio, to just chill out on, and take in the surroundings. Sarah was an awesome host, responding quickly to any questions. This trip ended up being better than I even imagined!!! Truly a gem in the desert!

  • The place was very clean, tidy, and perfectly decorated! I loved the big hammock and couch in the back which were perfect for reading and making plans for our day. We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and relaxing in the comforts of Sarah's place. Sarah was amazing as well. She was quick to reply when we had questions and had left coloring books, movies, as well as books/pamphlets about Joshua Tree and the surrounding towns. There was a severe wind/dust storm while we were there so check the weather and bring ear plugs accordingly. The only reason for that being that we could hear the gate banging during the storm, otherwise it was quiet. This house was better insulated than mine is. We barely heard anything that was happening outside once the wind stopped and I was surprised that I didn't feel a single draft during the wind storm or feel the place shake or something. We were so sad to leave by the end of our trip. The place felt very homey but trendy and with Sarah's quick response to any questions we had, I never wanted for anything during our stay.

Sage Desert House is a magical mystical adult playground set on 5 acres of private land. Star gaze or watch the sunset from the all natural Cedar Hot tub. There are many unique spaces for you to explore. There's a main house, a yurt and a trailer, a hot tub an outside bath.... in front of the house there are endless acres of land to hike and explore. The location is at the mid point between the Park and Pioneer Town, so the location is perfect for exploring all of the wonders of the area.
  • Sage Desert House and it’s surroundings are truly stunning. We had such a wonderful weekend exploring and relaxing. Integratron, Joshua National Park and Pioneertown are all great to visit and reasonably close by. Leslie was very helpful, giving us plenty of recommendations and instructions for the house. Four of us stayed and we would all really recommend it, we may also be back!

  • We had an amazing time watching the meteor shower! This house has some unbelievable stargazing. Beautiful desert scenery. The outdoor bathtub was especially magical. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

  • This is a true gem. Leslie was communicative and the entire property is totally incredible. You can tell the owners have a real keen sense of design. Lots of great places to relax and take in the beautiful views.

  • The Sage Desert House is magical! Every detail of Leslie's property is thoughtfully laid out. My husband and I stayed for four wonderful nights and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. We slept in the yurt under the stars, watched the sunset from the soaking pool, read books from the hammock or under the lanai. There are so many spots to relax and unwind. The location was great. Minutes from Yucca Valley haunts, but far enough away to feel remote while at the house. This is a true AirBnB gem. I highly recommend it.
