I had the absolute pleasure of staying in a beautiful cabin in La Honda, CA last weekend, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. The cabin itself was cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the redwoods — the perfect escape from the city. What made the stay even more special were the incredible hosts. Devora and her husband who own the property were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their hospitality was genuine and heartfelt, and it really made all the difference. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat in nature or just a memorable weekend getaway, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. I left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to coming back!

Montara Beach Mountain Escape

SamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
It's a very nice place to stay, away from the city but a quick drive away. The house itself feels very roomy and the outside is beautiful with open fields and Alpacas. The stunning beaches are just minutes away! The beds aren't the best, but workable. The booking process is through a different site which feels corporate-y with every request having a price and needing to sign additional waivers and identity verifications required. The floodlight camera in the backyard is facing the sliding glass door which doesn't have any curtains and feels like I could be watched sleeping on the sofa bed in the loving room. If you can get past all that, this is a great location!

Was a great option for close proximity to the Google campus which is where we needed to be. Neighborhood seemed to be safe and walkable. It’s evident they are very involved with the beautiful landscaping and gardening on/around the property therefore notable tree pollen/allergens during the spring time. Overall a cute, cozy, and darling stay!

I highly recommend this sweet home away from home. I offer 5 Michelin Stars, it is truly a hidden gem! Eric and Barbara share their charming studio with a welcoming southern hospitality and zest for life; and all of the proceeds go to an organization that cares for pediatric patients, Global Healing. I enjoyed our stay in every way! John Mayer, "Room for Squares" playing on the Roku; the beautiful handwritten welcome message; the basket of treats, fruit; popcorn; cookies, coffee, teas, and chocolates; the fridge filled with an amazing selection of drinks, Bubbly Waters; Tea; Spring Water; Lagunitas Brews for every mood The natural light; high ceilings; ample windows, the best crosswinds; the fenced private patio; the basket with Dog Toys; morning greetings of banana pancakes; brochette french toast; enchanting Victorians, landscaped with pungent lantana, fragrant verbena, and jasmine; towering trees Barbara's Chocolate Chip Cookies and Eric's peppermint cookies!

Delightful Tiny Home in the Redwoods !

It's even difficult to talk about this place. It's one of the best Airbnb we got ever. Every single detail were a way better than we expected. If you're looking for peace of mind, silence, tons of walkable spots there's no chance you don't like it. All the instructions are very clear and the host is very helpful with quickly answers as well. I could keep typing forever and wouldn't be enough to show how nice this place is. So try it. I really recommend and hope to come back soon.

We loved the location because the house was very cool, had a fantastic view and the grounds were great. We liked walking our dog in the neighborhood. We live in Southern California in a similar neighborhood but some might find the drive to the house a little challenging but well worth it when you get there! We hope to stay again next time we visit our daughter.

My partner and I were looking for a quiet spot near the city, and happened upon this listing. It ended up being an incredibly restful stay! The room was clean and the backyard was incredibly spacious. We were able to spend time in the jacuzzi and even made s’mores on one of the fire pits. The views were amazing, and reading outside in the morning was a great way to start our day. The owners were incredibly responsive and gave us a tour of the grounds as soon as we checked in. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with gracious hosts!

Tim and Margo’s home was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay. The space was exactly as described, and even better in person! Everything was spotless, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the check-in/checkout process was clear and easy to follow. They were incredibly responsive and kind throughout our stay, making us feel truly welcomed. We appreciated all the little touches and how much care was put into making the home inviting. We only used a portion of the home, but everything we experienced was top-notch. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxing and seamless getaway. Thank you again, Tim and Margo!

Your guide to Pleasanton

All About Pleasanton

Pleasanton is an East Bay suburb tucked between the rolling greenery of Morgan Territory Regional Preserve an hour east of San Francisco and around 45 minutes east of Oakland. The city’s perennial Mediterranean climate brings people outdoors throughout the year here, whether that’s for mountain biking along the 9,090-acre Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park — where peaks exceed heights of 1,600 feet, providing spectacular vistas for miles around — or enjoying a round of golf at a local course.

Downtown, you’ll find brightly colored storefronts, restaurants, and cafes in historic buildings, some of which were once connected through underground tunnels that ran below Main Street. You can learn more about the architecture, which spans Victorian, Italianate, and Richardson Romanesque, among other styles, and the stories behind the famous people who populated these buildings, on self-led cellphone walking tours from the Museum on Main.

Pleasanton is also host to the popular Alameda County Fair, one of the largest fairs in the Bay Area.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Pleasanton

Conditions are balmy and days are warm in Pleasanton no matter the season. You’ll be able to hike, trek, and explore the nearby parks without fear of being rained on. If you book a Pleasanton vacation rental in the fall or winter, you can check out the area’s biggest annual events. The Alameda County Fair at the end of October is one of the Bay Area’s largest fairs and features food stalls, trucks, and rides. In November, the Holiday Train of Lights is a festive 1.5-hour round trip aboard antique coaches and open cars through Niles Canyon.
