Lake Shelbyville fishing places to stay

My family rented the house for a couple of days for a quick family reunion. The house was great, had plenty of space for all of us. It had everything you could need and was well equipped. We are hoping to make this an annual event and this is our house of choice.

We found ourselves in Shelbyville for a wedding and Lauren’s place was perfect! It is conveniently located just off the main strip so minutes to everything. The local restaurants were great. We also explored the local parks and dam area which the kids loved! The house worked perfectly for us too. Three rooms housed our kids, us as well as my father. The character of the space and decor were charming. It is an older, original house so the floors creak, but otherwise it was fully functional and perfect to make breakfast and relax after the park.

A few employees and I stood here instead of getting a hotel. Pricing was comparable but having a beautiful home with a lake was not. We didn't even use all the amenities, but to know they were available was nice. If I'm back working in the area, I definitely would come back.

We had a great time. The kids fished most of the day. The back porch was a great place to hang out and eat dinner. Nice place to stay.

Renee was a great host with quick response time and provided added resources for what shelbyville had to offer. The house exceeded our expectations and we appreciated all the amenities that the house had to offer- will be recommending to other organizations to use for retreats!

The place continues to be a peaceful retreat while visiting a chaotic family. We always check for this location first when planning a trip to the area.

Worked perfect for us for a family wedding event! Beautiful location on point with great lake views! Accommodations were great and as described. Living room furniture was new and very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bedding and towels were very comfortable. Patio swing is fantastic! Patio table and fire pit got lots of use! Home included Pack-n-Play, which we needed. Two shortcomings, 1) no bath tub, two showers were very tight, and 2) decor needs some updating. Owner was very responsive and very flexible accommodating our early arrival.

My son and I were in the area for my daughter’s high school graduation. After spending 2 days in downtown Chicago, it was such a divine transition to the serene and tranquil lake house. The house was immaculate, just as the photos and description presented it would be. We were able to unwind from the graduation activities and have a restful sleep both nights we were there. Tara was a superb host, providing clear and informative information throughout the stay. Definitely recommend this place and will stay here if available on our next visit!

I would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to Lake Mattoon marina and the small beach they have. Yard is a great relaxing area. Plenty of parking. Beds were comfortable, shower had plenty of water pressure and plenty of hot water.

Very nice accommodations. Beautiful and peaceful settings with very nice amenities. We had everything we needed and it was clean and property is situated on a peninsula which is lovely from every view. Highly recommended for a peaceful retreat.

Wow! Beautiful house! Our group was made up of three moms and four teenagers. We were in town for a concert and were only able to stay one night. The house has an outstanding view in a peaceful setting. We wished we had more time to enjoy it. It rained our entire stay so we missed out on the amazing outdoor amenities. The kitchen was huge and we wished we had time to make a meal in it. I did heat up milk on the wonderful range and we used the coffee maker. The beds upstairs were wonderful and the teens loved the basement. Truly a fabulous stay.

We had a great time on our girl's trip. I was on a knee scooter due to surgery and was pleasantly surprised to see a true walk-in shower in the master bedroom. That was tremendously helpful for me. The house was great - we especially loved the sunroom.

We had a wonderful stay! This was perfect for us because we had some DJ gigs in the area. Perfect location, beautiful scenery.

Charles was a great host, friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay, especially the deck and backyard, including the fun game room downstairs. The house was spacious enough for our family of 8. We would recommend his place to other guests.

Lovely, peaceful location. Spacious and well furnished home. Comfy beds and bedding, plush bathroom towels. Erin was an accomodating host and replied quickly to our messages. Will definitely stay again.

We were a last minute booking because the previous place we booked was not fit to stay at. We were stressed and the owners immediately put us at ease. They were responsive with our questions. The house was beautiful and clean and looked just like the pictures. This place saved our weekend. Highly recommend this place!!

The house is an older place that has been brought up to date in a great way. Lots of the older features are still there and really add to the charm. Very spacious and comfortable. We all liked the place very much. I was pleased with how quiet it was for sleeping. The children (4 & 2 year olds) enjoyed the spacious back yard, the front porch and living room. We're hoping to stay there next year!

We really enjoyed this house. The view of the lake was amazing. Very clean and interesting layout of rooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. Know that there are lots of steps down to the house and stairway from upstairs to downstairs is very narrow. Happy with the location and accommodations while here for family visit. Thank you. 😊

Updated and tasteful decorations. Quiet neighborhood but close to shopping and restaurants. Excellent value.

Abagail’s place is very cute and cozy. Her decor is very original with awesome atmosphere. Her place is very clean, with comfortable couch, and we enjoyed the private back deck. Nice neighborhood, easy to find, and fun places to shop. We will definitely stay there again when in Illinois.

This was the perfect spot. Plenty of space for our family and beautiful accommodations. A little country retreat.

A gentleman was there as we arrived. He made sure we had everything we needed and told us to get a hold of them if everything was not available to us. Very friendly to deal with. The place was quiet in the country. Plenty of room for us and comfortable arrangements. Checking in and out was very easy and clear instructions.

Spent 2 nights here with my wife & 5 yr old grandson.we enjoyed our stay. It was nice having two beds in one room. The place was clean & decorated nicely. It’s was also a short drive to the attractions in Casey. I would stay here again. It was great value compared to other places in the area.
