The Market Street House was built in 1860 by Lambert Merklin and his wife. Lamberts was a German baker and confectioner who operated a bakery just a few blocks away from here on Fifth Street. It would be ideal for the visiting travel nurse or doctor or someone wanted to see the Lincoln sites.
