Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Fern Acres

hidden gem on lovely grounds with his own honey bees making scrumptious honey. Dennis was so sweet and friendly and his dog and cat were so sweet too. loved how close and convenient it was to the volcano national park. The property is set in a simply gorgeous subtropical plot.

Everything was as described and we enjoyed our stay at the property - it was between Hilo and Volcanoes which worked well for us. Cooling the bedroom down does take some time, as the A/C is only in the living room and the cool air doesn't get into the bedrooms very easily, combined with the slat windows not sealing so some of the cool air leaks out of the house. However, the house was very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Absolutely beautiful home, exactly as the photos show and as described. Located in a lovely neighborhood and a great place to unplug and unwind. Spotty cell service (as expected for the location) but WiFi was excellent and allowed us to make calls if needed, plus there is a landline if needed. All amenities a traveler could need, including beach towels, toiletries, and spices/cooking supplies. Loved the nightlife (literal nightlife like frogs singing the song of their people at night). We felt safe and comfortable in this luxurious hideaway! Would definitely stay again! Yvette was also a great cohost who offered lots of tips for restaurants and sightseeing! We found them very useful and her local insight made our trip even better!

The bathroom outside is to die for, it was one of the most relaxing things about my trip. Thank you so much !

Amazing stay in a beautiful setting! Can’t say enough good things about how helpful Stephen was. We had a flat tire on our car two minutes away from the cabin, and it was almost midnight. Stephen immediately jumped into action and came to pick us up to take us back. Even though it was late for him, he was extremely helpful and patient with us. His place was beautiful and exactly as the photos look. Actually, the place is even more beautiful than the photos. He also gave us great instructions to go see Volcano National Park! Highly recommend!

Gorgeous home that was spacious and welcoming. I was here visiting my family and attending my niece's graduation. Of course other family came to have dinner at the AirBnb and it had everything we needed, minus the rice cooker- but that's an easy fix for a local family (bought our own). The outdoor lanai was spacious enough for us to make all our lei with the leaves and flowers we hauled in from Honolulu, and it also gave our family a large area to gather, eat, and catch up. It is private and literally off the beaten path but we loved it like our own household, taking the time to sweep and even hauling the trash to the refuse center ourselves upon leaving. Mahalo, Tisiphone, for listing such a beautiful space for others to experience. You, your 'ohana, and your place is lovely.

John was lovely and gracious, had lots of tips and tricks to share, the pets were also wonderful! The place itself is very serene, accessible to both Hilo and the national Park. Would highly recommend!

Our stay with 2 young boys was fantastic. The location was perfect for all the day trips that we wanted to do on this side of the island. The place is very private and comfortable, we would definitely stay again. Gina brought us fresh fruit from her yard as well.

I could really use a studio so cozy like this one that fit our vibe 100%. The only flaw would be at night, if it’s hot, the termites are out to get yahhh! The host Hal, upon check in felt like I was staying with blood family. Easygoing and fulfilled our needs. Mahalo Nui

Really loved our stay. It was raining pretty heavily but her place was perfect for it. Windows looked out into the forest with beautiful plants and orchids. The rain sounded beautiful rolling off the roof. This made for the most cozy of stays.

Super clean, excellent and pristine furniture. The garden and the surrounding were fascinating. I was surprised to learn that we're allowed to use the barbecue grill and the bon fire but unfortunately had little time to use as there are a lot of things to do at the Big Island. Truly an oasis! Dana and Gregory are wonderful hosts and Rivendell was one of our favorite Air BnB stays. The apartment was spotless and well-stocked, the bed was so comfortable, and the hot tub was very well-maintained and heated quickly. Now for the best part! The landscaped property and waterfall made for peaceful mornings and restful evenings. We wished we were staying longer. Mahalo for the perfect weekend stay! We will be back!

This place is great. It is surrounded by trees so very quiet except for sound of the nature. Very spacious for 2 people. The location is not very far from the volcano (~40min drive) and Hilo, so I would recommend it to anyone waiting for the volcano eruption.

Really quaint little place, exactly as described. Richard was a great host and provided everything we needed. It is slightly off the main road and down a gravel lane but the instructions were very clear and precise. We would come back.

Staying here was the best decision. The hosts are sooo nice, we didn’t get to meet Jeannie but John is an absolute legend. The place is much bigger than it looks in pictures and has such a nice vibe. The fresh fruit in the garden is amazing, fresh orange juice in the morning and the soursop were so good. The place was clean and smelt really nice. I honestly feel like they need to be charging more as you get so much more than what you pay for. Thanks for a sensational stay, 10/10 would recommend!

I was there with my boyfriend for the week. The location was great! Within walking distance g distance to great restaurants and the best farmers market I’ve ever been to. The views are absolutely stunning. Watching the sunrise in the morning was so beautiful. We felt right at home. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you so much Carla and Joe! It was a little slice of heaven there.

LOVED this location and the unit! Gorgeous views of the adjacent park from the lanais and a great place for morning walks or runs. I also really appreciated the extra touches — the welcome basket, yoga mats, well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Great value. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Great location. Very walkable. Minutes to Hawaiian Style Cafe and 30 min walk to downtown Hilo. The lanai is great for bird lovers. Lots of local birds in the trees and the canal below the lanai. The place is very clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to the Hilo area.

We had a wonderful time at Carrie’s place. The deck with comfy chairs, a wonderful hammock and Kitty were lovely. We spent a long time there hanging out. We had everything we needed available there. No complaints at all 😊

We really enjoyed our stay here. The unit was just as pictured and was really beautiful, clean, and modern. It was conveniently located within a short drive to the downtown Hilo area where there are plenty of shopping and dining options. We were also short drives to several beaches. Our host, Linda, provided clear instructions on how to reach and access the condo and was very responsive with any questions we had. I would definitely recommend staying here if you plan to visit Hilo.

Ryan’s Condo Unit is the perfect place to stay on the east side of the Big Island. It’s nearby the main road, easily accessible to get your vacation plans going, but also secluded away so that you have some privacy, some needed peace and you won’t hear the sounds of rushing cars. We paid extra for AC which was perfect because after our first long day of touristing it up and arriving later than expected, we walked in to a very cool room. I highly recommend adding this when booking. The pool was also an added bonus and their instructions were easy to follow. We swam laps, admired the different types of surrounding trees and lounged around by the lounge chairs. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ryan and Gina for posting this beautiful hale for us to enjoy. (;

Staying here was my home away from home. We enjoyed the peace, sort of away from the busy roads. It was in the middle of a lot of places. They provided everything that we needed. Other than that, we will definitely return on our next trip here to Hilo.
