Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Cave Run Lake

The Mail House was a perfect couples getaway spot for us. Stephanie and Ben provided clear instructions for getting there and check-in, as well as a wonderful list of places to visit in the area. This was our first visit to the area, and it was a very central location to what we wanted to do. The Mail House is so quaint and had everything we needed. We highly recommend staying at The Mail House!

A very peaceful place with a beautiful view. David was very responsive, quick to attend any questions and issues we had while we were there. He provided recommendations and went above and beyond helping me on my search for an uncommon tres leches cake. We felt right at home and had everything we needed!

A change in plans led us to go out of town for Thanksgiving this year. We were looking for a homey place to celebrate and relax, and loved the proximity of this airbnb to Red River Gorge. It was private and beautiful, and was even nicer than the photos made it look. There was plenty of room, a stocked kitchen (pots and pans and basic spices: salt and pepper etc) that made cooking a simple Thanksgiving dinner easy. We loved the open kitchen/living room space so that we could spend time with family while watching football and cooking. I even took a kayak out on Thanksgiving morning! It was a little chilly while we were there, but imagine the deck and pond would be incredible with warmer temperatures. There were tons of towels, blankets, shower items and a hairdryer. The appliances all worked great. We did a lot of hiking while in the area and Wyatt & Savannah's place was an amazing retreat.

Review for The Muir Valley Overlook House, Campton, KY I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Muir Valley Overlook house, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! Nestled in a beautifully serene setting, this spacious and impeccably clean house provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of my stay was the fabulous hot tub, which was nothing short of a blissful retreat after a day of hiking adventures in the breathtaking surroundings. There’s something incredibly relaxing about soaking in a hot tub under the stars, and this one did not disappoint. The expansive living space was perfect for unwinding and enjoying some downtime. An unexpected bonus was the selection of video games, which added an extra layer of fun to our evenings. As described. It’s an older place, but comfortable and relaxing, and a very nice home base for the Red, especially the southern crags. We’d be happy to stay here again.

The house was very clean, cutely decorated and perfect size for our family. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone.

We came to The Red just to enjoy the outdoors and the sport of climbing. The weather almost made us miss out on the whole week but Jim helped us make the decision of coming anyways. Since he lives close by to give us a better weather and area report. The house provided activities too for the kids. They loved the pool table and hot tub.

I came here with my sister to shop for my wedding dress at Renee’s Bridal. Needless to say, we loved our stay! Graham was super kind, responsive, and made us feel right at home. The beds were super comfortable and we had more than enough space. Would definitely stay again!

What an adorable and cozy apartment. Ellen was kind enough to accommodate a very late check-in and even left lights on so we didn’t have to enter a dark apartment. That was very much appreciated. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Super comfortable beds, hot water and good water pressure, safe neighborhood. My daughter and I took a walk around the area and downtown and felt very safe. Her gardens make it feel like you are in this little oasis away from everything. Very peaceful and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Ellen’s place.

We enjoyed our stay here as we were visiting MSU. Lisa was extremely accommodating and responsive to any questions or needs. Definitely will look to stay here again when we visit. The barn cats are so friendly but respectful of not trying to enter cabin. Enjoyed feeding the horses.

Ms Kaye was the sweetest host, from meeting us out at the pool to the sweet bottle of wine. Her Airbnb was more than we expected and was super cozy too. We enjoyed listening to the rain come down from our own private covered porch as well. Our only regret was forgetting to bring/buy steak on this trip so we could have taken advantage of the covered grill area.

We were so happy to find this sweet place!!!! Had a wonderful time visiting my brother! Such a cute and comfortable space. Would definitely stay here again! John was easy to communicate with and made us feel right at home!

The Lady Slipper apartment was the perfect base for all of my hiking adventures in the Red River Gorge...located right in the middle of it all. Had everything I needed for a comfortable stay for myself and my dog.

My stay at Clifton’s place was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I booked, Clifton was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The check-in process was simple and seamless, which made arrival stress-free. The space itself was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I truly appreciated how attentive and communicative Clifton was throughout my stay, always quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a smooth, top-notch Airbnb experience. 5 stars all the way! We booked both Airbnb’s and it was seamless.
