Cottage vacation rentals in Carolina Beach

I decided last minute to do a solo trip to oak island for the weekend and I don’t think I could’ve picked a better place! The location was perfect, it was conveniently located to restaurants and a nice Publix for groceries. The walk to the beach was very manageable and actually enjoyable since you go over a beautiful scenic walkway. The cottage itself was cozy and quiet, the screened in porch was perfect for reading. Plus the hosts were so friendly and helpful! I am already looking at my calendar to see when I can squeeze in another stay this summer!

Caroline was an amazing host and was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The airbnb was adorable, clean, well stocked, and in a great location! It was nice being so close to everything but still far enough to have a private get away. The porch swing was a nice touch. Would absolutely stay here again if visiting Holden!

You could not ask for a more convenient location in the heart of surf city. Amy was an excellent host, extremely helpful. There are a ton of shared items you can use for fun on the beach. Amy even provided surf boards for me and my son to enjoy. We enjoyed the walkable location and plan to return in the future. Also of note, we felt the location was sufficiently private despite being so centrally located.

The place and stay were fantastic. The kitchen had everything that we needed, which is what I was worried about. Would stay here again 100%!

Great location and lovely house! Perfect for our long weekend!

This cozy cottage was exactly what my daughter and I needed for a weekend away in a secluded setting on their property. Charlene was a gracious host and the amenities in this cozy cottage were impeccable! It was super inviting, modern, and had all the things that you needed including very appreciated basket of snacks upon arrival. My daughter and I really enjoyed using the gym next-door and then headed out toward Wrightsville Beach the next day. We enjoyed the fire pit at night with provided firewood on the cute patio with the string lights and peaceful sounds of nature. Grocery stores were easily 5 to 10 minutes away and Wilmington was a good 15-20 minute ride. Topsail was 25 minutes in the other direction and we loved visiting there as well. The property is huge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage! Great stay overall!

The Captains Cottage was probably the nicest airbnb we’ve ever stayed at! The industrial kitchen, high ceilings, beautiful porches, large windows throughout the house overlooking the park with the beautiful pavilion and live oaks across the street - everything made it feel so luxurious yet also so homey. We loved being close to the shops and the waterfront. Also very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Host is very responsive and helpful as well!

Perfect place for a week at the beach! The house is right around the corner from a beach access and can hear the waves from the house. The inside is super cute and clean. The beds are really comfy too. We are from out of state and flew in so we just shipped all of our bedding, towels, pillows and then shipped them home after check out at the local UPS store. We look forward to staying here again in the future!!!

The location was great and it worked out fine for the weekend. Was close to various shops and the Kure pier. Was great value considering how close to the beach the cottage is located.

We consider Barney's our little hidden gem at Holden! This is our second time out at Barney's and it never disappoints! Check in was super easy, the house was immaculate, and the pool was pristine! Holden Beach is about 10 minutes from the front door and there's lots of local stuff to do. We brought our two dogs as well and they loved the beach after 6pm! We had a couple of rainy days, but Barney's place had plenty of things to entertain my 9, 11, and 13 year old boys. I would highly recommend to anyone, but especially families that are looking for the perfect beach vacation getaway!

Beautiful location and cottage! It was great that the pool was open before Memorial Day, so we got to enjoy everything available. The cottage was clean, well furnished, and easy to find. We loved walking to the pier, and enjoyed the restaurants and parks there.

Such a cool place , the kids loved the hang out spot downstairs with ping pong tables and a tv like a cool hang out! The beach is right across the street so easy!!!! The pool is a major game changer and the charm inside the house is amazing! Can’t wait to come back

Location was perfect for us!

The house was gorgeous and just as described. The host was very responsive to anything we needed. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants. We couldn’t have found a better place to stay for our girls trip!

Our family loved this house and location - plenty of room, easy walk to the beach, tennis courts out back, friendly neighbors, easy access to restaurants and stores. Jim was responded quickly when we asked for help with supplies. The spring pollen factor was high - so be ready! We washed the decks and chairs and that improved things. We will return!

This was a very clean, comfortable and attractive place to stay. The location was very convenient to all the wonderful things Wilmington has to offer. The owners were very helpful with check in and provided a lovely place.

Staying at this Airbnb felt like a true escape. The location couldn't have been better – being mere steps from the beach was such a treat, allowing for spontaneous walks and the calming sound of the waves. It was wonderful to find such a genuinely dog-friendly place; my pups absolutely loved it, which made the stay even more enjoyable for me. The entire atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and I found the off-season to be a particularly lovely time to visit, with beautiful weather and a sense of peacefulness. The property itself had everything I could possibly need, making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable. Amy was fantastic – always communicative and helpful, ensuring a smooth and easy stay. While there were plenty of options for things to do in the area, I also appreciated the opportunity to simply unwind and work remotely in such a serene setting. The upper deck was my favorite spot for getting sun many hours of the day. I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is a favorite!

I absolutely adore this cute little beach house. It was a perfect best friend get away. I felt like I was staging in a beach cottage straight off hgtv. My only suggestion is a full length mirror for the females! Definitely would stay here again.

Excellent place - very clean and spacious with great amenities. We enjoyed the use of the grill, hot tub, cornhole set, beach chairs, beach cart, boogie board, stove, and Jenga set. Plenty of space to park and walk around the property. Close enough to Wrightsville beach that we were able to Uber/Lyft easily.

This was an absolutely perfect Topsail vacation home! We loved every minute of our stay. The location is absolutely fantastic. So close to the little local shops and restaurants as well as super close to the bridge going over to the mainland.. The house itself was spotless and quite comfortable. Had everything we needed to cook full meals. Plenty of kitchenware for our group of seven. Proximity to the beach is by far the most fantastic detail of this house! The little private sandy beach *yard* attached to the deck is awesome for kids and the beach itself just down a few steps is so amazing. We could even sit in bed and see the ocean waves! This is the best house with beach access and views we've stayed at in Topsail. Also positive to note, the entire property being fenced in felt incredibly safe for kids and was fantastic for our dog. We realized the apartment was a part of the rental unit and we were so pleasantly surprised! It was a great separate space! Overall highly recommend!

Beautiful, clean and comfortable home. Jim was a great host. Tons of room and a good location. The pond next door was cool.
