Modern Private cabin | WiFi| | Hot Tub | Fire Pit

VickyRating, 5 stars3 days ago
I had a little trouble getting in with the keypad, but that is probably more about my lack of knowledge with keypad entries. 😂 The home was spotless when we arrived and we filled it with lots of laughter and fun! The back deck was amazing - even in a gentle rain. And, our last night there we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. Mike and Cate were INCREDIBLY helpful and communicative. They answered every question within minutes and made us feel well taken care of. Departure was easy and they requested minimal prep for departure. They made staying at their home easy and comfortable. 👍

Comfy Asheville Cottage with Private Fenced Yard

KyleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Smithson's place was very clean and had all the amenities you could hope for. fully stocked with linens, cleaning supplies, cooking and dining supplies, the whole nine yards. The yard was great for our dogs, fenced in, private and maintained. The place was full of modern amenities, including the bathroom and kitchen which can make or break a stay for me. Smithson promptly responded to every message I sent and was proactive about check in details, suggestions for hiking, and other good to knows for the stay. I'll definitely be back!

The Cozy Cottage with the Illusion of Seclusion

JimRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shannon’s place. We could have easily parked ourselves on the deck for the entirety of our 3-day stay and been very happy, but it was easy to come down off the hill and visit restaurants in Arden or Asheville. Shannon has done a very nice job of working updates to the home, especially to the kitchen and bathrooms. She deserves a special shout-out for going above and beyond to ensure the gas supply for the fire pit was quickly replenished when it unexpectedly ran out. As advertised, this was a great combination of peace, solitude, privacy, mountain views, with surprisingly good access to all that the greater Asheville area has to offer.

17 Degrees North Mountain Cabin

BonnieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
When I saw that Catherine’s place was rated a 5, I was a little suspect considering it’s really tough to get 5 stars. Oh my goodness, 5 stars plus!!! What a magical oasis! Catherine was super kind and helpful. All the animals were such a treat to connect with and the areas to walk and wonder were all so, so beautiful. The river on the property was an added bonus and super soothing. This is a place that will provide me many more sessions of relaxation and restoration. I also got away without purchasing some of the meats for sale- next time. Yes, next time. Can’t wait to return. The location was just right! We felt far away from all the bustle yet, only minutes from the highway. If you are a birdy nerd like us, this is the spot. The cabin itself was so super sweet and romantic with all the nice lighting. The outdoor in-porch hammock was also a treat. We sunbathed and read in the chaise loungers which are so nice. I could go on and on….you will not regret booking!

This was an amazing experience! Cheryl’s home was the perfect place for us this long weekend. The house felt like a true home and had everything you would need in it. The backyard was perfect for our golden and to relax after a day out. It is very close to downtown and montford. The bed and couch were both very comfortable and it has a spacious bathroom with washer/dryer. She also provided a list of recommendations which we utilized quite a bit. We’ve been to Asheville a lot but it was nice to learn about other restaurants, hikes and coffee shops we hadn’t tired yet. Cheryl’s response time is FAST! Check in was easy. We would love to stay here again!

Houz Zen: A Pet Friendly Private Suite

GuinevereRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Corey and Cheryl were lovely hosts. Their airbnb had everything we (including our dog Ridge) needed! They were incredibly kind and thoughtful. The fenced in backyard is totally private and Ridge lived his best life with an abundance of tennis balls provided by Corey and Cheryl. While Corey and Cheryl live upstairs, we never heard noise and they were extremely respectful of our time whenever they saw us outside (but I always wanted to chat :) Wonderful airbnb, so cozy and Ridge is already asking to go back!

Dog Friendly - Stargazer Cabin at Farmside Village

KristiRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My stay was lovely. It’s very peaceful up at the cabins. For the first portion of my stay I was the only one up there. Later, the other cabins were filled. However, I hardly noticed anybody else, the cabin is very well insulated from sound. All the basic amenities are provided. And it’s a very comfortable set up they have created. The space was kept very tidy and clean and anything I needed was provided. I would definitely rent again from these folks. It’s a very easy drive into Asheville for events, food and shopping. Thanks so much for making you space available to others.

Highland House - Near Asheville

CourtneyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We were absolutely thrilled with our stay here! The view from the living room is spectacular on its own - not to mention the layout of the home is one of envy. I was taking notes on the tasteful and charming decor. We were lucky enough to be here on an evening when a storm was rolling in. Watching it approach from the porch was so incredibly relaxing. The only downside is there aren't really trails or anything close by, but I think the serenity and privacy you achieve on this property is second-to-none. We will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful hosts with a beautiful sheep farm. The view from the High House is stunning and deservedly so! It's quite an ascent to the house but worth it - like a holler all to yourself. The furnishings and amenities are everything we could ask for, the kitchen was stocked full of everything a cook would need. The bedrooms were comfortable and the layout allowed us to stretch out. Make sure your vehicle is capable of getting up the road, we have a truck and it wasn't an issue.

Your guide to Asheville

Introduction

Tucked into North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville is surrounded by old-growth forests, tumbling waterfalls, and a handsome stretch of the Appalachian Trail. But beyond its world-class wilderness, the city is known for its enduring Gilded Age architecture and bluegrass musical traditions, as well as a thriving art scene. And if that’s not enough, have a beer: Asheville boasts a staggering number of craft breweries, many within walking distance of the music venues and art galleries of the up-and-coming South Slope and River Arts districts. These formerly industrial neighborhoods have breathed new life into the city, and are excellent places to hang out in between trips to the mountains.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Asheville

Asheville has a subtropical climate, which means that the summer months are warm and humid while winters are comparatively mild. From June through August, temperatures peak in the mid-to-high 80s, while December through February they range from the high 20s to the high 40s, with occasional snowfall on the city’s surrounding peaks. From March to May and September through early November, Asheville’s temperatures typically hover between the high 50s and the mid-70s, ideal for staying in one of the local cabins and exploring the area’s picturesque wildflower blooms in spring and foliage during fall. However, precipitation is regular throughout the year—so pack accordingly.

Top things to do in Asheville

Biltmore Estate

Among Asheville’s most prominent landmarks is this 250-room mansion built for George Washington Vanderbilt II during the height of the Gilded Age. The opulent 19th-century chateau (which is the largest privately owned home in the United States) sits on 8,000 acres and comprises sprawling grounds designed by a famous landscape architect. Visitors can tour the historic manor and massive estate, which includes a rose garden, farm, shop-filled village, and an award-winning winery.

The Asheville Urban Trail

This 1.7-mile walking trail pieces together 30 stops around downtown Asheville that celebrate an important person or moment in the city’s history—each marked with a public sculpture. The self-guided tour takes about two hours to complete, and begins at Pack Square Park. Printed maps are available at the information center.

The North Carolina Arboretum

Located about 20 minutes by car from downtown Asheville, these 434 acres of botanically diverse gardens pack in more than 10 miles of pet-friendly hiking trails. The outdoor attraction sits within the Pisgah National Forest, which includes more than half a million acres of wilderness, with forested mountains, whitewater rivers, and photo-worthy waterfalls.
