We loved our stay! The week flew by. Great location.

Our stay in this home was such a treat! We enjoyed utilizing the kayaks to boat around in Chesapeake Bay. The hot tub was an absolute delight, perfect for evening stargazing, saw lots of shooting stars, and could see the water of the bay from the hot tub. We also enjoyed doing November cold plunges from the hot tub to the pool. While the living room is not expansive, it fit our needs for family game & movie nights. The bed linens were so comfortable, and Lori was beautifully responsive & friendly when we would reach out with a question. We also enjoyed the nearby Sandy beaches.

We had a great time staying here! Clean, modern, fully stocked home just as described in the listing and photos. The sunsets over the water are indescribable. Relaxing hot tub, wonderful outdoor space, lovely campfires, and comfortable bed and bath rooms made our trip stress free and extremely enjoyable. We barely left the property - we felt right at home. Our point of contact host, Ana, was very responsive and communicative. Would definitely recommend! Look forward to booking again in the future! Thank you for a vibey holiday weekend!

We stayed five nights at this adorable, cozy yet spacious beach cottage. Everything was as described. John was incredibly responsive and helpful with any questions. The grounds were well maintained and many different activities if you enjoy those things. The walk to the beach was less than a minute, unless you stop to take in all the garden spaces and various seating on the way. The outdoor shower was perfect for washing off the beach sand. Beach was clean and offered a lovely view. The cottage space itself was well laid out. Beds were very comfortable. The shower space was a little tight for my companion which I suppose is to be expected in a 100 year old cottage. The porch was absolutely wonderful in the evening, sitting outside in the cooler air and the breeze, but it also offered shade during the day. It is clear that John has a passion for hosting. We caught glimpses of him and his crew regularly stopping by to maintain the property. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Enjoyed the stay. Comfy beds with wonderful cotton linens. Cute interior. Nice, quiet off season experience. John’s recommendations for smaller local favorite restaurants were good choices. Nearby recreation centers offer day passes and lots of indoor activities for cold or rainy days. Just right for our family trip. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing.... We had an awesome family vacation!!

John’s place was great. He’s easy to get ahold of if necessary. Good communication through the app prior to our arrival. The carriage house was easy to find and clean. The property is right on the beach and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed having our coffee under the pergola right at the dunes. There are bird feeders right there and it’s very peaceful. We watched the ships come in from the ocean and did some beach combing too. We’d definitely recommend this spot. We’d stay again if coming back to Norfolk.

We absolutely loved staying here! It was the perfect distance from Cape Charles where we visited during the day. It was the perfect little getaway!

Fabulous stay at the Ladybug! Host was outstanding with communication and responsiveness. House was exactly as described if not better. Location was not far from places to go yet so secluded and peaceful. Wish we could have had more time there and looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you!!

Wow! We had such a wonderful time at Mr. Roger’s place! The house was just beautiful and clean. The weather caused us not to be able to enjoy the pool and beach, but thats no fault of Mr. Roger! We will definitely book here again. Thanks again!

What a perfect cottage! Beautifully (but comfortably) furnished, right on the water, incredibly well-stocked. Arranged so families can spread out, or gather together. Everything you could possibly require or desire for a vacation or getaway was there. And the area is full of things to do--walks, birdwatching, antiquing, or, if you're an architecture geek like me, historic sites and buildings. You're also a 3-minute walk from the best restaurant on the Northern Neck, Merroir Tasting Room. Can't wait to come back.

Had a great stay! Chuck was really nice and super responsive. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Chuck really went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. He even made sure my pup had toys and treats. 😎 I will definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for a great place to stay for an excellent price, you should 100% stay here!

This was the perfect find for exactly what we needed- a peaceful and quiet few days to escape our hectic everyday. The home was cozy and lovely and exactly as described. Cape Charles is a gem of a town and we look forward to coming back!

This was my second stay at Kathy’s and it was great. The location is perfect. Within easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants and a local brewery. And the fenced in yard was perfect for my pups.

Great location for visiting historical Williamsburg and surrounding locations with historical significance. The porch and back deck are very relaxing for coffee or cold beverages. The inside is comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. The entire house was fantastically CLEAN, well decorated and maintained. We hope we will be back! Thank you for a great stay!

Our stay at The Cottage at Elm Bank exceeded our expectations. We traveled to Virginia from New Jersey. A single mom, her two big boys and her little pup. We were in town for a little getaway for Easter weekend. I was looking for some peace and tranquility. When we arrived, we were greeted by Susan and George. They were kind and welcoming. The property is absolutely breathtaking. Our accommodations were cozy and super clean. What stood out the most was all of the personal touches that Susan and George provided. We had a welcome basket waiting for us with many thoughtful things for us to snack on. It was as if they knew exactly what we liked. Susan was very responsive and George was very helpful, he even allowed the boys to use the kayaks and helped them set things up to get into the water. We were able to use the pickleball court and the basketball hoop. They set up wood for a wonderful fire and provided the marshmallows and sticks! It’s a beautiful property with wonderful hosts!

This was the perfect home for our family trip to Virginia Beach! From check-in to check-out it was an extremely easy/smoothe process with great response from our host! We loved the coziness of the home. The beds were comfortable, and the couches comfy. The backyard was perfect for hanging out and bbq'ing! The best part for us - all the sand toys, beach chairs, umbrella and wagon to haul everything to the beach! We loved the close proximity to the beach (especially with little kids!) Highly recommend this home and will be booking again in the future!

This was our 4th stay at Gwynn Island so we were well familiar with the house. We will likely return again in the fall for some more fishing from the pier, relaxation on the porch and the sunroom. The place is well appointed including both a "normal" coffee pot and a Keurig, a large gas grill with side burner and multiple gas bottles, a separate crab pot gas cookers. Lot's of comfortable seating available for a sofa snooze or reading. We really enjoy the pier the most. We were a bit to early for crabs in the traps but tried. Fishing however was a ball, lots of small spot with a few larger ones on the ultralight. This year I tried a larger, stouter rod (small surf rod w/large reel and 40lb test and steel bottom rig using chunks of spot for bait and caught several nice bluefish dinners, a couple dozen skates from 3-10 lbs and maybe a half dozen bigger Cownose rays. One I to the rocks after a 30 minute fight and got photos. It was 3-1/2 feet wide and maybe 40 lbs. Great time!

We can’t express how much we enjoyed our stay . It was more than we expected ! Rose was so accommodating . And she makes the best Belgium waffle with fresh organic fruit and granola we have ever had . It’s worth every penny !! And the coffee was approved by my husband that’s a Veteran that loves his coffee . Thank you Rose for making our two short days there a great memory . And I’m going to get that outside shower I’ve been wanting for years !!

Great clean place. Only a minutes walk to the beach. Neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in VA Beach.

Such a great location - just a short walk from the beach. Front porch is a great place in the mornings and evenings. The dining room and living room fit our group well and we squeezed in the bedrooms (4 couples + 6 kids all 3 and under) but it was perfect since we spent most time outside anyways! Adam was super helpful and quick to respond when we needed a few items. Would definitely visit again!

Excellent place to stay, Kathryn was available for any issues and the location was so close to the town everything was walkable. Loved sitting on the front porch watching the world go by and drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The house was comfortable and well stocked. Loved the Polar Springs water dispenser. Would recommend this place and come back again. Thanks Kathryn.
