Perched high on a granite ledge, you will find this cabin overlooking a rushing river that weaves its way through the dense, lush forest of the North Cascade mountains. The unique asymmetrical A-frame structure is both unexpected and familiar, with its wood-clad walls, exposed beams, and large geometric windows. Whether you are playing whiskey-fueled card game by the fire, or lounging in the hottub while listening to the nearby rushing creek, this cabin offers the ultimate cabin experience.
“Forest and Andy’s place was superb, from the design of the cabin to the sound of the stream flowing by next to the house. It was a great getaway from everything. As well as all the amenities that’s provided are very thoughtful and nice! I would definitely come back again! I would just recommend taking a picture of the instructions to get to the place as well as the WiFi password, because there is no service. So just be worry about that! But besides that, everything was outstanding!”
::::::::::::UPDATE FOR THE YUBA RIVER RETREAT COTTAGE:::::::::::: Please read the following update and our full listing description in the 'Read more about 'The Space' section below. SPREAD THE LOVE! SHARE THE GOOD! Clearly, it's up to each one of us as individuals to make good choices for the health and vitality of your families and for each other in the greater human collective. The following is our plan for managing the Yuba River Retreat Cottage during the pandemic.
“My wife and I went here to unplug and unwind, and we got so much more out of it than that. It is a quiet place, where you have all of the home amenities provided to you; a full kitchen, a comfortable bed, and a view that will likely beat whatever you stare out towards at home. You are close to Grass Valley and Nevada City both, so you have plenty of city for your trip in case you don't like being too far from grocery stores or restaurants. The full kitchen has everything we needed and more, so we were able to make food for ourselves each night and eat comfortably at the provided seating area. We also brought our dogs, and their two dogs Moose and Charlie were so friendly and kind to them! I hope to return here whenever the wife and I get the need to unplug again, it wasn't a far drive from Sacramento, but it felt worlds away.”
Our cozy guest cabin is nestled in the forest a five minute walk to the beach and near mountain biking trails. There is a large patio ideal for dining al fresco! Access to an outdoor jaccuzi. The kitchen is well equipped including a full size fridge, convection oven, stove top, toaster, grinder, coffee maker and outdoor propane BBQ. Indoor shower. Eco friendly Sun-Mar composting toilet in a separate building.
“Ekta and Peter were amazing hosts. They went over and above for us.. they built us a fire pit as we miss camping, brought us more comfortable chairs, and were there with any information we needed. The cabin is cozy and rustic and has EVERYTHING you could need (I needed tape and we even found that in a drawer). The hot tub is fabulous annnnnnd we absolutely ADORED the chickens who act like dogs! They came running excitedly whenever they heard us out and about and even slept outside the door waiting for us to finish lunch or a game of cards We also recommend taking a pottery lesson.. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Thanks for everything! Cheers, Debra and Brent”
