It is a great location for wildlife observations, hiking, stargazing, and general exploring of miles of adjacent public lands. Bosque del Apache NWR is about 20 minutes south, San Antonio is nearby, and Socorro is 20 minutes north for shopping. Birding is great here. It's quiet and peaceful, with plenty of room to spread out. There is basic wifi at the house limited to browsing and email.
