This home is so charming, dripping in history, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. It feels so off the beaten path but Charlottesville is within easy reach. You feel a real sense of peacefulness and calm here, and Virginia is a very responsive host.

The house is fantastic, even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Loads of space to spread out, kids loved the many games and toys, adults loved the porch and kitchen.

Had a lovely stay at this horse farm Airbnb! The property was beautiful and the horses were stunning. Great experience overall. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature and lovely animals.

My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating our honeymoon at Wolftrap farm! The hosts were incredibly welcoming , professional, and responsive! They were available and willing to answer any questions we had! The view was breathtaking. Our pups enjoyed seeing the horses and the daily walks around the farm. The house was well kept and had everything we needed. We loved the amount of space for our family of 5! The patio, deck with grill and fire pit were wonderful additions. The area and yard were beautiful. Such a wonderful getaway!

This is hands down my favorite airbnb rental ever. It's also the only one I've ever returned to. We so enjoyed our time in Rapidan! We brought pretty much all our food, so i only left the property once in 5 days. Heaven!! (though the rooster was quite talkative, the cows went serenely on their way!)

This rental has great potential, but it needs some major updates. IMO it is not a vacation suitable rental currently, but it worked for our horse show exhausted bodies. Book this now! This little cottage is absolutely stunning inside. The hosts were amazing - so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and just plain good people that we felt like we could sit and chat with for hours. The main manor house was so gorgeous inside, and the grounds were beautiful, tranquil, and super fun to explore. I’ve stayed in tons of AirBNBs, and this was a standout experience. Well worth every penny. We left feeling rested and restored, and we’ll definitely be back again.

John and Gaby are excellent hosts. They were so flexible and kind that I felt as if I were communicating with family. It put me at ease and I was able to concentrate on all of the logistics that come with Mother of the Bride biz. I would definitely return for a weekend away and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring our dog with us. I had also rented two other locations in the vicinity and Maple Crest stood out, by far, as the most enjoyable experience and most personable interactions. We had the time of our lives and are very grateful that John and Gaby generously share their beautiful home!

What an amazing sanctuary to relax between graduation events. Directions were perfect and the horses, they make the stay truly special.

Wonderful to have the whole top floor, spacious bedrooms, very clean I felt good walking barefoot. The only thing I could hear was the spring peepers, very quiet and peaceful. No AC is something to consider.

I'm so happy we found this restored greenhouse! My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway to a peaceful place that was dog-friendly. John's greenhouse checked all the boxes!! The stone greenhouse is charming and sits on a huge property with stunning views. Our dog loved running around outside! John was very communicative and he even accommodated our very late check-in time! He gave us great recommendations in town and we didn't have to drive more than 10 mins to eat or do something fun. We absolutely loved staying here and would definitely do it again!

My kids and I loved this homestead retreat in a beautiful and unique natural setting. The host family was very welcoming, and the farm animals made this a fun escape from city life. The room is quiet, the bed is comfortable, and every amenity you might need is covered thoughtfully.

A Home Away was such a great find for my family. The main floor alone was more than needed to accommodate 4 adults and 1 child. We loved having our own bathrooms off the bedrooms (water pressure was great), a big kitchen with all the supplies we needed, plus a deck for eating dinner with the view of the lake. We did need a lighter to get the grill lit and foil for over the grate, but once we bought one that stuff the grill got the job done for burgers and dogs. The location is further from some of the food/drink spots but it was worth it for the peace and lake access. The dock was perfect for fishing and we were able to utilize the kayaks. The listing didn’t mention life vests, but they were in a closet and plenty to choose from. The hill to the dock is steep so be ready for a leg workout! I’d certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

After years of over scheduled vacations, we decided to select a laid back, play it by ear vacation. This may be the first vacation that’s we’ve had that we don’t feel like we need another week to recoup! We opted to stay home every other day and go somewhere every other day. The house was beautiful and the only thing we didn’t have was local TV which turned out to be the best thing for relaxing. Thank you David and Norma for opening your beautiful home to us!

The Clifton House was the perfect place to celebrate our grandson's Law School Graduation from UVA. There was plenty of room for the family to spread out and all the beds were extremely comfortable! The large dining room was perfect for family dinners. The best part was the gorgeous setting and the beautiful horses! We loved it!!!
