Family-friendly vacation rentals in Old Forge

Everything was fantastic! The house was very clean and the amenities were great. The local town and the surrounding areas were beautiful as well. Chris was always in touch incase we needed anything and was very helpful when we had any questions. 10/10 would recommend visiting.

We had a great time here, perfect for family get togethers. We had kids ranging 11-1 years and found it safe and functional (though we did bring our own gate for the stairs on the main floor). The place was clean and cozy. Would definitely stay again.

Love the spaciousness and having 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (plus a massive basement!). Kitchen is well stocked. The new hot tub and refrigerator are great. It is a great location near Loon Lake and is the perfect place to stay for multiple families! A few things to note - the pullout couch in the basement is not really usable (but plenty of space for air mattresses); the bunkbeds upstairs are twin beds (not full as stated in the listing); wish the basement had a TV and better dehumidifiers; upstairs needs some fans or AC because it gets very hot; the grill is falling apart but is usable; and animals often get in the dumpster despite the bar on top. All in all, it is a HUGE, nice house and worth the stay. The few imperfections are easily livable for a week in the Adirondacks!

The cabin was absolutely fabulous from the furnishings to the lighting n the hottub n the beds .perfect getaway..

We ate most meals on the deck admiring the lake and scenery. Most hot days at the lake, jumping off the floating dock, swimming and kayaking the beautiful lake. Most cool nights in the hot tub. Beautiful lake and close to many places (Saratoga, Lake George). Kids really enjoyed the lake, floating dock and hot tub as well as playing darts on the deck. Tinney’s Tavern nearby had great food and was an easy walk. Nice hiking trail nearby. Joan was easily accessible for any questions that arose.

We had a lovely time here -- make sure to check out the trails right out back of the house! It's a really beautiful area. We also really appreciated the hosts. We had to change our plans at last minute due to a health situation and they very kindly refunded the night we missed, even though they were not obligated to. They also stocked up the fridge with seltzer, which was a nice gesture! One note of caution for families with young kids: the ladder/stairs to the loft area is accessible from everywhere in the cabin (there are no separate rooms), so it might be a little dangerous for young-but-mobile kids. (Or be prepared to keep a close eye on them.)

Our stay was very nice. The cabin was beautiful and very peaceful. Todd offered all amenities. Upon arrival we noticed wild animals must have gotten into garbage pails out by the road. I called to reach out to Todd to let him know we arrived at the cabin and to introduce my self and asked to please call me and never heard from him. Other than no communication everything with our stay went smoothly and we would definitely consider staying at Todd’s cabin again. Thank you kindly, Gary and Lynn

What a wonderful stay. ‎Location is great. Near crossroads for many of the scenic route and trailheads. The home was very welcoming. The mosquito net enclosed porch right alongside the creek was amazing. The propane, barbecue lit right up and had excellent control of the temperature. We all enjoyed the house and ‎Location. Would absolutely stay here again

A really awesome place, ideal for relaxing and get energized without external distractions ! Limited network depending on your carrier, which was exactly what we were looking for! A bit chilly in mid October - as advertised - but Pam made everything to make sure we were comfortable ! I am pretty sure I will come back! Lots to do in terms of hiking, and activities in the cities nearby

The cottage and property was well maintained. You definitely feel like you’re staying at a person’s home. The books, games, open floor plan, soaking tub, all make you feel cozy and if your staying at a friends cabin without the guilt of being an intrusive guest. The bugs deterred us from being outside at night, but that is to be expected with the view. The kayaks were easy to use and not far from a sandy shore and lake. We stuck to the middle tiny island and floated. It is not deep. The private beaches are not necessary but there is a small area near the painted frog rock where you can place your kayak if you are alone and want to swim. I was told by the renter’s it was fine but you want to ask because I don’t know if it’s technically private shoreline. Sitting in the living room playing trivia and hiking Auger Falls was our family’s highlight and bringing our dog made him so happy. He is still tired! It was the perfect combination of rustic charm with excellent amenities.

Perfect place to stay for a weekend get away.

Just what we were looking for locationally! Great value for the price. It was quiet, peaceful and a dogs heaven! our lab loved swimming in the water then drying off by the camefire. The stars are amazing out here too!

This was without a doubt the best & nicest Airbnb I have personally stayed at. The house is absolutely gorgeous, very well kept, is in such a nice private & remote location - perfect for a weekend away from the hectic real world, stocked with everything you could need (toilet paper, paper towel, soaps, crock pot, waffle maker, etc.) The host was very friendly & easy to get in touch with when needed and went above and beyond to make our stay great. I would recommend this house to anyone and would love to stay again someday. Thank you for such a great weekend!

The Baker Brook lodge was a perfect place to spend relaxing and unwinding after some long days out exploring the many nearby wilderness areas. Matt and Justine were fantastic hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge — would highly recommend!

I couldn’t recommend staying here enough. Close enough to town if needed but quiet and clean. If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you

Beautiful home on a beautiful piece of property. Lots of room inside and outside. It has an excellent common area for family gatherings. Great home for families with children. Owner is very communicative and helpful. He ensured that we have enough baby gates and a pack n play for our stay. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked this Airbnb for a geology class trip, and had a great experience. Kevin is a great host who was incredibly responsive and answered all of my questions promptly. The place was clean and matched the descriptions and photos well. Great place for a geology class to stay!

This home is super spacious and totally what one would need to be with nature. A 15 min drive gets you to a small town at the bottom of the mountain. Lake George is about 25-30 min drive. The inside of the house was really clean and nice. The pool wasn’t as clean as I would expect it to be, it needed a really good cleaning before we jumped in. Also the pools filtering systems is connected to the home and attracts tons of unwanted flies and insects so bring plenty of bug spray and citronella candles,that helped somewhat. I would recommend for a large group. Also tents can be set up in the back yard with the amount of land that’s available.

Melissa’s home was absolutely perfect for our family! The place was clean, spacious, and had an incredible backyard and pool. This Airbnb truly felt like our home for 5 days. Melissa was prompt in answering questions and always made herself available if we needed something. We would absolutely stay again!

Our stay was fantastic! We enjoyed the pool and roasting marshmallows in our own fire pit. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The property manager was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The only quirk was that we needed to move one of the twin beds in the room our children were sleeping in because the door wouldn’t close. The beds were comfortable. The living room furniture could use an update. But overall, we were really pleased with the cabin and enjoyed our stay. We would come back again.

We had a wonderful stay at Darrel & Sara’s for a long holiday weekend. So nice to have the pool and backyard available on the summer days. And a nice cozy fire pit with chairs and a table and lighting for hanging later at night. Darrel & Sara were open and communicative with us from the start. I have severe cat allergies, but for this trip we were traveling with friends who had a dog. When I inquired ahead of time about the specifics of the kind of pet friendly space I can stay in, I received a thoughtful and understanding response from the hosts. We were attending a couple of shows at SPAC and the proximity to the park was truly a gift.

We had a beautiful stay, the cabin was clean and welcoming. The location is perfect and Dick, the onsite property manager was wonderful.
