5-Star Beachfront Condo #1917 Pelican Beach Resort

RayRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We stayed in 1917 at Pelican Beach Resort with our 2 year old and it was a great family trip. We like PBR for the multiple pools and cafe on site. We don’t have to go back to the room if we forget a drink or need a snack. The condo was very nice and well appointed. The power was out in the whole building when we arrived but was quickly restored and Barry and Katherine kept us up to speed the whole time. Plenty of towels and a full spice rack which we needed for cooking in. Coffee pods and creamer were nice. There were beach chairs and an umbrella on the spare room closet which were nice to have just incase. We opted to rent the set up from the provider on the beach since we already had the wagon full of toys and what not. We could not locate a drying rack for dishes and when we asked Barry and Katherine about it they immediately had a rack, drying mats, dish towels, and extra pot holders sent over, thanks! Reminder-Elevators can get congested around check out time. We loved our stay!

Great place! Really cute and homey. Super walkable and right next to the beach and two of our favorite restaurants, which was so nice. Our hosts were really nice to speak with and were super quick to respond to a problem we had during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Beachfront! Newly remodeled! Right on the beach!

DorthyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great stay at Aaron & Ingrid’s place. It was beautifully decorated and exactly as described. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, snacks and bottle water. The beds were very comfortable had plenty of extra pillows. Aaron was extremely responsive and friendly. We loved the beach and it is very walkable. Beautiful sunset and caught a dolphin swimming by. They offered chair service which is a very nice touch, but we did not need it. We also visited The Sand Flea for cocktails and burgers. It was really nice to have a place just a few steps away from our room. I highly recommend Aaron’s place and will stay again in the future. Cheers!!

Our Beach Getaway at Miramar Beach - Destin

BeckyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stay in Airbnb units all over from Hawaii to Florida, this unit is our favorite to date. For one, it's just steps to the beach, two pools are a mere elevator ride away and a great little breakfast place in the next building. But what really stands out for us is the cleanliness! Warm locals tend to have bugs, outside the surrounding area, in the walkways, sometimes (we found out last year) inside the units. This place was absolutely spotless! Each and every corner of this unit is CLEAN. Secondly, we were able to cook most meals in out unit. Because of food allergies eating out just isn't safe. The kitchen is fully equipped; we were lacking no pot/pan or utensil to prepare some wonderful local fresh catch. If we continue to attend music fests at this location, we will seek out this particular unit again. Cannot recommend enough!

The Destin Bungalow was spectacular! More than we could have asked for. It was gorgeous, clean, and had the perfect homey yet vacay getaway feeling. Lindsey was very communicative and friendly, and helped perfect our trip by giving us recommendations of the area. Would definitely book with her again!!! :)

One Block to Crystal Beach + Pool + King Bed + Convenient Location

LarisaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a wonderful stay in Destin! The cottage was beautiful and tastefully decorated, making it feel very cozy and welcoming. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, which we really appreciated. One of the best parts was how close it was to the beach – just a short walk away! The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and overall very pleasant. We truly enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back again!

Beach Cottage South of 30a -Steps to Beach & More!

EmilyRating, 5 stars1 day ago
This is our second time to stay at Saltwater and it was just as perfect as the first. Jenny is super responsive & easy to communicate with. She is an excellent host; the surprise welcome package really made us feel special! The home is perfectly located and so welcoming. Beds are comfy and kitchen has everything you need so you’re not running out to Publix every night for random condiments. There is every beach accessory you can think of available for use. I cannot wait to bring my family back again and again!

Charming Beach Cottage- with beach service

CherylRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My husband and I enjoyed our month long stay at Maravilla (March 2025). We had a condo (building 1) last year and chose the cottage this year….more privacy, less noise. We had several guests throughout the month and there was plenty of room/space for all. Beautiful kitchen for cooking our meals. Large table to accommodate our guests. Enjoyed time on the back patio as well. Easy walk to pool, pickleball courts and beach. Beach umbrellas and chairs, which are included, are great. Bernadette was quick to respond if we had any concerns or questions throughout our stay. Thank you Bernadette for renting your cottage to us. We’ll be back because we love this area of Florida.

Nature's Nest Cottage on the Sound - Pets Welcome!

JoelRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
My family had 3 wonderful days at the "Nest". The house was stocked with nearly everything we needed and we felt at home right away. The highlight was the location, with the spacious back yard on the bay - perfect for a morning walk or to relax in the evening on the provided deck chairs.

It’s Just Darling

JulieRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Julie’s house is just as described…”Just Darling”. It was immaculate and clean, cozy beds and sheets, everything we needed. We liked the neighborhood feel especially coming back to a quiet home after crazy, busy visits to Rosemary and Alys Beaches and a drive up to Destin during a busy holiday week. Our dog loved it so much, she didn’t want to leave. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants a cozy home with a classy beach feel. We also loved the little porch in the back. Sugar loved the new smells out there. We’d love to return if we get up that way again!

Your guide to Okaloosa Island

Introduction

If you’re visiting Okaloosa Island, don’t forget to pack a swimsuit. The three-mile-long barrier island, just south of Fort Walton Beach, is between the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s Emerald Coast. You practically live at the beach here, spending days pedaling around on a cruiser, stretching out on powder-soft white sands, and sitting down to a seafood dinner fresh from the turquoise gulf waters. But while the beaches here are beautiful — much of the island is protected land — there’s plenty to do besides relax. Kayak or paddleboard on the bay or boat over to Crab Island, a sandbar with a festive atmosphere. Shop and dine on the boardwalk, or visit the area’s theme parks, water parks, and museums. Then cap off the day by enjoying a brilliant sunset on the beach.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Okaloosa Island

It’s almost always beach weather on Okaloosa Island. Summer is hot, humid, and the most popular time to book one of the condos here, with daytime temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit and nights only slightly cooler. But repeat visitors tend to agree that spring and fall are the best times to visit, when the crowds are thinner and temperatures are in the mid-70s and upper 80s — you may even want to pack a light jacket for evenings. Expect an isolated thunderstorm or two, especially during hurricane season, which starts in June and lasts through late October or November. Winter is sunny but cooler, with temperatures in the mid-60s. However, it doesn’t last long, and the 70-degree days usually return in the middle of March.

Top things to do in Okaloosa Island

Okaloosa Island Pier

Anglers come to the Okaloosa Island Pier, which juts 1,262 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, to sight-cast in the clear waters. There’s gear rental here, and, for a small license fee, you can fish for Spanish mackerel, whiting, tuna, and bluefish. The pier also draws birders and is a lovely place for a stroll or to watch the summer fireworks displays.

The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island

The oceanfront boardwalk features beach access, picnic pavilions, shops selling beach apparel and water toys, ice cream and candy stores, and several large, open-air seafood shacks and burger bars.

Gulf Island National Seashore

A national treasure, the Gulf Island National Seashore stretches 160 miles from Cat Island, MS, to Okaloosa Island and is split into 12 areas. The final section, just west of the Okaloosa Island hub, is a beautiful small beach on the Choctawhatchee Bay with calm waters that are great for swimming and water sports.
