The Ocean Luxe in Waikiki, 1 Parking

DarrenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We were very pleased with our stay! Charlie and his team were attentive from the start, answering all our questions promptly. The only downside was the slow elevator situation and the construction in the building, but that was out of their hands. We strongly recommend this space and would be excited to stay at Charlie's again in the future!

Peaceful cozy comfortable apartment

ShimranRating, 5 stars6 days ago
This space is excellent! Peaceful with your own private patio, pool, and view of waikiki, diamond head, and the ocean as the house sits up on a hill. Very clean, has every thing you need. Note that the Airbnb lists the address of the office which is downtown. The Airbnb is actually 14 min drive from Waikiki Beach. Still an excellent location! Just not walkable to the beach if that's what you're looking for. Would absolutely stay again!

THE GRAND EXPERIENCE

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was our first visit to Honolulu and staying at Kurts place made our stay that much more special. Allowing us to have an early check in when we realised we had to be off our cruise ship very early that morning made our first day much easier. The apartment has stunning views of Waikiki - waking up to them each morning was very special. The apartment is across from the zoo where you can see flamingos from the window of the apartment which we loved. The apartment has beach gear provided making days at the beach a breeze and there are plenty of fabulous restaurants nearby. Our favorites were Lulu's Waikiki and Hawaiian Aroma!

()(Upgraded June.2021!)() 1 Bedroom oceanview

GeraldineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My first time visiting Hawaii, and our stay at Ricks was exceptional. We wanted something private, with a beautiful view and away from the extremely busy hotel setting yet close to local food, and things to do. The view was beautiful, we had everything we needed, and it was private. We were only minutes from the beach, and parking was available at a walking distance. We highly recommend, prime location is vital.

Parking was included too which was an even bigger deal than we thought. Danica was a great host, always polite and responsive to messages through the Airbnb app. Would 100% recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here- we had a everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The space can heat up a bit during the day, but there are beautiful beaches to sit in the shade and cool off nearby. There are also some great food trucks close by as well. Don was very kind and lives nearby if anything is needed. It’s a good place to chill!!

Sunset Hale

Our family of four ( including a 3 & 5 y/o) had a wonderful stay! The home had everything we needed and the location was amazing! A great reef to snorkel right out front of the unit while the kiddos rested. Our favorite beaches were less than a 5 minutes drive west of the unit and had no tourists, lots of trees for shade and opportunities to snorkel with turtles. Would highly recommend for those wanting a more quiet vacation spot.

Kailua Beach Park - 1 BR Cottage

AndyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Wow. This spot is the perfect location for three beaches: Kailua, Kalama, and Lanikai. Each one offers amazing views and sandy areas. You can do some snorkeling at Kailua or Lanikai. The Lanikai Pillbox Trail is a good one. The cottage had everything that I could need. The beach towel, cooler, and laundry were particularly valuable amenities for me. Thank you!

Lanikai Ohana Hale: Tropical Cottage w/Pool, Lanai

KelseyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved this place! It was definitely one of the more reasonable cost rentals in the Lanikai neighborhood but it didn’t disappoint. A few things of note: - the appliances are high end KitchenAide and Bosch. The cooktop is a two burner induction that you can put away when not in use. Toaster oven as well. Compact dishwasher and fridge is a one drawer fridge/ one drawer freezer that fits under counter - ample beach towels. Also beach chairs and umbrellas. - the pool was wonderful - less than 10 min walk to Lanikai Beach - do the pillbox hike up the ridge behind you if you want a good workout! We loved our week here. Always planned to cook out on the Weber grill but didn’t end up doing so. The patio was awesome at the end of each day and for morning coffee. Neighborhood was safe. Met the pest control guy and the pool guy while we were here- both really friendly. Would definitely choose this place again.

Large Kailua Beach Home - Steps To The Beach!

SarahRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a great stay in Kailua! The house is very comfortable, and it’s only a couple minutes walk to the Kalamas beach access. When not at the beach (with the chairs, towels, boogie boards, and toys provided) or eating Island Snow, the kids loved playing in the yard and the play room, and watching movies in the living room. We ended up staying mostly in Kailua and Lanikai for beaches, shopping, and restaurants, with one morning at the botanical gardens in Kaneohe and one at Haunama Bay, and an afternoon at Bishop Museum after check-out. We’d love to stay here again, in this well-appointed and clean house with hosts who responded to our questions and provided clear guidance on the check-in and check-out process.

Your guide to O‘ahu

Introduction

Home to the state capital of Honolulu, the iconic stretch of Waikiki Beach, the somber history of the Pearl Harbor Memorial, and the awe-inspiring power of North Shore breaks, Oahu remains a popular destination on the Hawaiian Islands. The most populated of the islands, Oahu still retains much of Hawaii’s traditional culture and iconic tropical beauty while also being the epicenter of new local talent and culture. Shopping options are numerous, the dining scene perpetually evolving. Oahu’s diversity, combined with the island’s laid-back attitude and more than enough majestic natural beauty, makes this a getaway destination where you can still feel connected to the world.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in O‘ahu

Most of Oahu is graced with pleasant temperatures that have made the Hawaiian Islands the definition of paradise, typically hovering between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, so there isn’t a bad time to book one of the island’s vacation rentals. The western Leeward Coast is drier, while the greener Windward Coast on the eastern side receives more precipitation. Waikiki is mostly dry and sunny, but the sudden appearance of intermittent drizzle or light rain is not uncommon, so bringing a lightweight jacket while exploring the island is never a bad idea.

Top things to do in O‘ahu

Diamond Head State Monument

Besides the highly developed strip of Waikiki Beach, there’s no more iconic site on Oahu than the 300,000-year-old Diamond Head volcanic cone standing over the city. The park’s small fee (for Hawaii nonresidents) allows visitors to trek up scenic trails and a series of stairs along the exterior slope of the crater, rising to a panoramic view of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean below. The journey up can become crowded, so plan to arrive early before the tour buses, and remember to bring cash for the walk-in entry fee.

Pearl Harbor National Memorial

A short boat ride brings visitors from the shore right up to the remnants of the USS Arizona, the site where 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines perished during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This place of solemn remembrance which includes the USS Arizona Memorial program, the visitor center, and museums, is free to all visitors.

Banzai Pipeline

In winter the Banzai Pipeline (or Pipe, as it’s colloquially known) along the island’s North Shore regularly produces titanic waves that break to form equally epic tubes for surfers to brave. Even if you’re not a fan of surfing, the majestic power of these waves is sure to impress.
