I wish I could give this stay 10/5 stars! First of all, the directions to get up the mountain and locate this stay were extremely helpful and proactive. We travel a lot and you’d be surprised at the lack of this more often than not! The property itself is absolutely STUNNING. The views are immaculate and not to mention, every detail has been thought of - thank you Talia! From robes and slippers, all the kitchen necessities, to the “forgotten things” bathroom drawer, all the personal touches really made it feel like home. We cooked multiple meals in the kitchen and had everything we needed. The house is clean and the outdoor spaces were perfection. We enjoyed evening campfires roasting marshmallows, stargazing, and the hot tub was amazing! Would absolutely recommend this stay, and hope to be back in the future! Incredible getaway for couples, friends, or a family. Just book it!

Place was exactly as advertised and host helped with recommendations, and was responsive to any questions / issues. Lovely place to stay near several great hikes!

First I will say that getting up to this property felt treacherous, especially at night. Highly recommend an AWD vehicle if you’re coming up here. Otherwise, the place was very private, clean, and beautiful! Cynthia was an exceptional host - she made sure we arrived safely and was proactive in her communication.

Happy well-appointed cottage just a short 10 minute drive to downtown Highlands. We loved the hot tub, which was sparking clean. Very happy with out stay and would absolutely come back in the future.

10/10! Our two families had a wonderful time! The outdoor activities kept the kids entertained and the screened porch was perfect for the adults. The house is cozy and had everything we needed.

We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing river cottage! It was cozy, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The host, Tiffany, was incredibly responsive and helpful from beginning to end, making our stay even more enjoyable. The views, scenery, landscaping, and atmosphere was breathtaking. We absolutely loved the variety of outdoor areas and definitely suggest sunsets in the hot tub! The upstairs balcony was the perfect spot to watch the stars and sip coffee in the morning. The location was convenient and we enjoyed spending time by the beautiful river. Seamless check-in and out process. We look forward to coming back and recommending to friends and family!

I can’t express how nice this cabin is, it’s beautiful. Very nice decor and comfortable beds & furniture. The upstairs loft is so cozy! The deck was spacious and well maintained, the views of the mountains from the covered porch were pretty. Parking is easygoing, no steep driveway. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming! This cabin is not far from the main highway, makes travel easy to navigate the area and explore. The cabin is a few minutes drive from WCU, which is very convenient for anyone in town visiting their college kid. I enjoyed my stay, and I recommend this place a 100%.

Highlands, NC is a can’t-miss retreat. On top of that, the hidden bear cottage provided a peaceful, quiet, quaint stay. Staying nearly two weeks in the cottage provided much opportunity to utilize their fire pit, kitchen, hot showers, puzzles, neighborhood walks, etc. We would happily stay there again.

We loved the place and the surrounding, The house is very close to town, and many waterfall in the area are in short distance. you need to remember that you in the middle of the forest almost so take with you some bug repellent and don’t be surprised for any wildlife visits 😁, the place is beautiful and clean and got everything you need to feel comfortable and welcome.

The cottage was wonderful, peaceful, uncluttered, suited our needs perfectly. The trails on the property were an added bonus that the pup and I enjoyed. Eric has thought of everything you may need for your stay. We really enjoyed the layout, the screened in front porch was great to enjoy or meals on. We would definitely stay here again.

Elizabeth was very thoughtful in how she furnished and decorated the space. It had everything we needed for a mini 2-night getaway. Beautiful indoors and out, quiet and peaceful, games and solitude, we didn’t need to leave the guesthouse for anything. We would absolutely come again and hopefully for a longer visit!

Had a great stay! While a bit remote, the house was really nice and exactly as pictured. It’s in a quiet and peaceful location on the lake. Bob was responsive and has the house well stocked. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and getting out on and exploring the lake.

Great place and great value for an ideal location. We loved the space and clean accommodations. The beds are more comfortable than what you have at home. Access is super easy and the back porch is a great wind down spot to view the wildlife. Highly recommend!!

We loved Tracy’s cabin! It was close enough to town yet far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. The place itself was pleasantly decorated and had cozy touches everywhere. It was also equipped with all the basics and essentials you could need. Tracy and her husband were proactive with helpful information before our stay and very responsive during the stay when we had a question. Would definitely stay again! We stayed at Edwin’s place right after Christmas. We arrived at night to a clean, comfortable place and woke up to the daylight of a magical looking atmosphere. The large windows had beautiful views of Whiteside Mountain, and Edwin was very kind to check in with us and give us tips for hiking trails and places to eat. It was a great time to enjoy the surroundings and Edwin was a friendly, caring host. It was the perfect getaway!

One of the most charming cabins we have stayed in during visits to the Highlands & Cashiers, NC area. Easy to get to. Away from the traffic and business. Very private, peaceful place to stay. Pictures don’t do it justice. Has a farmhouse cabin vibe and stocked with everything we could possibly need and more. Highly recommend!! Olga was great and pleasant to book with!!
