Vacation rentals in Kukuihaele

We had a wonderful stay in the Hale e Komo Mai. It was our second attempt to stay here as we had to cancel last year...and we did not regret for a second booking again! Frank and Loki were amazing hosts caring, friendly, and attentive. The tiny house is...well tiny, but this is what we were looking for and we had everything we needed in a very enjoyable environment - both inside and outside. It is extremely quiet at night so we slept very well. We also really enjoyed Waimea's vibe, its restaurants and the nice places to run in the area.

This place is amazing! Beautifully decorated, super clean, and full of unexpected delightful amenities (first aid kit, aloe, coffee grinder, local honey, snorkeling gear, fabulous library, etc). The view is out of this world. We flew into Kona, and spent a lot of time driving around on the Hilo side of the island, so this place was perfectly centrally located. Honokaa (the nearest town) has great quick breakfast and coffee, as well as a pub for later evening food. It was a little hard to find at first, but Karen gave us excellent directions as well as photos. Highly recommended!

Our stay was amazing! We felt right at home. It was in such a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood in Honoka’a. Would definitely recommend!

Place was very peaceful & private. There are nice baskets with fresh eggs & fruits & small sample of chocolate etc which you can order & we enjoyed some new fruit & food which we never ate before & we all enjoyed very much. The host was very kind and friendly & we had everything we needed. Thank you for letting us stay.

Staying in this little home nestled in the forest is truly a unique experience. The trail that winds about 100’ from the gate to the house is lined with flowers and twinkling lights. The frogs and geckos sing an incredible chorus in the evening! Surrounded by nature, it is very peaceful. I highly recommend a short stay here. A few things to note. First, the directions are accurate, but not easy to follow. The “Rd 5” sign is not visible until after you turn onto the road. It is the 5th road, which would be easier to find if that’s how it was given in the directions. The tiny gate to the pathway has a Private Property sign and no welcome sign or address, so it’s not super clear that’s the right spot until walking up the path. It also would have been nice to know earlier that there’s a cooler, but no ice, and that if it’s rainy, everything outside the bedroom gets damp/splattered and the trail gets muddy. All just details FYI - there were many lovely details that made up for them!

Our host's were wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay. ( it was just to short ) I especially enjoyed showering under the stars and the fruit trees. We went to see Hawaii, not the inside of a room. These accomidations had everything we needed and more, and were very comfortable. The yard and surrounding area is beautiful!

Lovely place to stay in Waimea area. Val’s place was clean and new with a lovely deck area. We appreciated the beach equipment and use of the laundry too. Just a note that it is a ways out of town and not possible to walk anywhere. Must have a car.
