Spacious Coastal Apartment in a Colorful Community

We had a wonderful one—day, one—night stay. The beach and some great restaurants are within walking distance. This is the perfect place if you have a cruise the following day; it's less than a 10-minute drive to the Carnival terminal.

Downtown 2BR rental- walking to beach, shops, eats

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place was perfect for our family! My husband always has a difficult time sleeping away from home, but he didn’t have trouble sleeping here! The beds are super comfortable, along with the linens, pillows, etc. We were able to get great use out of the wagon and boogie boards. I loved the location; we walked to the beach in under 10min, walked to the grocery store, and of course my husband enjoyed his morning walk to Starbucks every morning. The kitchen had a beautiful gas stove where we enjoyed cooking every night. Greg, I can’t thank you enough for our best family trip yet!!!

Absolutely beautiful apartment right in the heart of Corona del Mar, close to a great range of restaurants ( highly recommend Gina’s Pizza - right across the road) plus a lovely local grocery store. Close to Corona del Mar state beach, just a 8 minute walk / 4 min drive. The apartment is super comfortable & the small outside balcony is a great. Highly recommend this apartment. Just perfect.

Sharon’s Newport Airbnb was the perfect getaway with stunning views and a comfortable family vibe… perfect for the 6 of us… The beds made for a great night’s rest, and the place had everything we needed. Being able to easily park 2 vehicles was a huge plus. And, place is within walking distance of many conveniences including a deli and pharmacy.

Affordable Vacation Home 4 miles fr DisneyLand

TriciaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Overall, the stay was great! The house is spacious and very clean, and the location was close to the Convention Center, which is what we needed. The only issue we had is that the smoke detector battery started going off at 5 AM in one of the bedrooms. I messaged right away to see if someone could change it. About 30 minutes of not hearing back, I grabbed a ladder from the garage and took the smoke detector down. I messaged again and did not hear back. Eventually I messaged again and was told someone would come fix it that day but it did not get fixed during the stay. Not a huge problem at all and I got the beeping to stop, but thankfully there were no issues where the smoke detector was needed. Overall, a great stay and host!

Keeping It Beachy

TreenaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
AMAZING! AMAZING! Did I mention it was amazing? I just can’t say enough about my visit. I have had a slew of not so good Air BNB’s as of late. Ones that didn’t match descriptions, no basics like coffee, laundry but being your own tide pods, and like a 5 page checkout….NOT here…it was perfect. Coffee, creamer, great bed, beautiful bathroom and that was the fanciest potty I have ever used….thank you Tori! I am super bummed my work won’t be bringing me back but if I come to visit on my own you’ll be hearing from me again. Thank you so much for renewing my faith in good air bnb’s!

We had a great stay! It really felt so comfy and had more than enough space for me and my family. It was also in a peaceful neighborhood so we enjoyed sitting on the porch surrounded by the beautiful garden. There was also enough parking space for all of cars so that was a plus. Would recommend and stay here again! (:

The location is great. It is a few minutes to Marine Ave with many shops and restaurants. It is about a 15 minute walk to the ferry. The furnishings are basic but, the accommodations are clean and spacious. Having a parking spot in the carport is very convenient. The host is responsive.

Your guide to Huntington Beach

Introduction

Huntington Beach has gone by a few names over the years, including Shell Beach, Pacific City, and even the nickname Gospel Swamp for a period in the 1900s when it was home to rollicking tent revivals. But the name that stuck was Surf City USA. (And that’s official — the Huntington Beach visitors bureau owns the trademark.) Home to some of the best surf breaks in California, Huntington Beach’s reputation was cemented in 1925 when a Hawaiian surf legend first dipped his board in the waters there. Today Huntington Beach is home to the US Open of Surfing, the largest surfing competition in the world, and the International Surfing Museum. Resorts and upscale dining have sprung up here, but Surf City USA remains unpretentious and is still best enjoyed sans shoes.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach enjoys warm days in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit year-round, which means there’s hardly a bad time to stay in one of the area’s vacation rentals. November through February can bring cooler temperatures in the 50s, and July and August can occasionally spike into the 90s, but generally you will be greeted by weather befitting the city’s beachy reputation. Pack layers anyway, as nights can be cooler, and you may want a cozy wrap for those evening bonfires.

Top things to do in Huntington Beach

Huntington City Beach

The city’s five beaches spread along 10 miles of uninterrupted Pacific coast shoreline. At Huntington City Beach — where it's not uncommon to see professional surfers showing off their chops in the waves — there’s something for everybody. The beach is loaded with such amenities as public volleyball courts, outdoor showers, and restrooms, making it easy to camp out all day. You can break up an afternoon of lounging and swimming with a walk along the historic 1,850-foot-long pier (which boasts a combo burger joint and tiki bar at its tip). In the evening, cozy up around one of the first-come-first-serve bonfire pits.

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

Over 200 species of bird call this 1,300-acre coastal estuary home, including peregrine falcons, burrowing owls, and white-faced ibis, wading birds with a dramatic, sword-like beak perfect for probing salty marshlands for prey. Even American bald eagles put in guest appearances here. There are four miles of hiking trails in the park, punctuated by scenic outlooks. A small interpretive center hosts exhibits on the ecology of the park.

International Surfing Museum

Run by an enthusiastic volunteer team, this museum chronicling surf culture has a funky, homegrown feel. The museum’s holdings include a surfboard that belonged to a famous Hawaiian surfer, the world’s longest surfboard (according to the Guinness World Records), and a surf-rock legend’s guitar — which was stolen and then returned in 1989. The museum also hosts classic surf movie nights.
