Outdoor gas grill (& older charcoal) and fire bowl (bring own firewood). WiFi not available & cell service is marginal. There is a queen sz bed downstairs, & a sofa bed (w/sm defect), the loft has a futon that flattens into small double bed, and there are 2 twin beds. No large, loud parties that go on into the night as there are neighbors, including the owners.

Our LOTR themed treehouse, along with our LOTR Wizard's Cottage, have been described as a "love letter to Tolkien himself." We have been featured on PBS and WJON radio. Joan and I live on the acreage, about 200 ft. from the Wizard's Cottage and very far from the treehouse, which is located on the back part of the acreage. It has a fenced-in portion that makes up the Shire Garden. Down the hill is our nod to Mordor. Feel free to visit and dare to open the "Mor Do(o)r." Diversity is welcome.

It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

What an absolutely beautiful and gorgeous home! The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s even better in person. Plenty of room for multiple families. My family and I stayed here for my graduation from the University of Minnesota. The home was beautiful, clean, and truly a gem. It’s about 35 minutes from the downtown area. Lynnell was an amazing and responsive host! I would definitely book again.

The house was incredibly comfortable with multiple outdoor options from the front porch to the back porch, garage with pool table and other games, dock, swing, and fire pit. The beds were all comfortable and there were extra sitting areas inside that made it seamless to have the whole family there for the weekend.

Beautiful getaway in north central MN. The fall colors over the lake were breathtaking and the cabin was the perfect retreat for a group of friends. Spent nights around the bonfire swapping stories. Would definitely recommend. Ev was so responsive and very pleasant to communicate with, too.
