Stay downtown Halifax for a fraction of the cost! Our apartment is a charming and cozy historic home close to everything you need for the perfect city getaway. Steps away from a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars on the popular Spring Garden Road. Close to Citadel Hill and a short walk to the Halifax waterfront. It’s a great base for exploring all that Halifax has to offer. We love our home and we look forward to sharing it with you!
Our apartment is a cozy flat on the top floor of a beautiful Heritage home built in the 1870’s. The guest room has a comfortable double bed with a memory foam mattress, small desk, dresser, and a spacious closet. Our favourite part of the room is the sunny and private deck that is right off the bedroom for you to enjoy. The rest of the apartment is shared access, (with my boyfriend and I) including our fully equipped kitchen where you can feel free to cook any of your meals. (We are very close to multiple grocery stores). The living room has a large TV with access to Netflix and we welcome you to make yourself comfortable. The apartment is a two floor walkup, but we are always happy to help with your luggage. Also included in your stay: Good quality, fresh towels and sheets Shower gel, Shampoo and Conditioner High Speed Wifi Coffee and tea Washing and drying machine Parking: There is free street parking after 6pm in the neighbourhood as well as paid underground parking just up the street. --- We volunteer as puppy-raisers for future service dogs so we occasionally have a dog in the home. Currently we have Tetley, a very friendly black lab puppy who is excited to be your new best friend. We do make sure to keep him out of the guest bedroom to ensure the space is kept pet-hair free for our guests.
With a walkability score of 99 you can't go wrong. There are multiple cafe's and restaurants in the neighbourhood and a grocery store a 5 min walk away. The neighbourhood is a protected heritage site called Schmidtville and was the very first "suburb" of Halifax. Many of the homes in the neighbourhood were built in the 1800's and have been lovingly kept up or restored.

Cozy downtown apartment with everything you need for a good sleep, rest from exploring downtown's dining & entertainment at your doorstep. This is all about location and convenience at a very affordable competitive rate for the heart of Halifax. It is literally right downtown so keep this in mind as there is bustle and noise especially as our little city is bursting at the seams right now!
In the pictures you see the library and the gardens building across the street. A lovely wine store is kitty corner. There is a fine Japanese restaurant across the street and very close by are the theatres (movie and stage), coffee shops, live entertainment and the famous modern library is kitty corner. A 15 min walk to Point Pleasant park and a few minutes to the public gardens. The beach is 30 away 15 for lakeside swimming and attractions. The steps on entry are cement, awkward and require a careful step so this apt is unfortunately not suitable for people with limited mobility.

You’ll love my place because the location is downtown and minutes to all Halifax has to offer-including the waterfront, the Convention Centre 11 min, parks, library, culture, restaurants, shopping, theatre and cinemas and pubs. The property offers a shared driveway. Halifax's premiere shopping district at Spring Garden Road is 5 minutes away. Many fine restaurants and two grocery stores are a five minute walk each. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Welcome!
This space is a cozy, private self contained bachelor apt. with kitchen and a bathroom featuring a new tiled shower. The house has a flat upstairs and an apt in the back with quiet respectful guests. You access the apt through the locked front door to your own locked door, Apt#2. Once inside you will find a newly renovated warm space with original hardwood floors, 10 foot ceilings and three large new windows with heavy curtains for sound sleeping. A new full mattress 54" and boxspring with fresh clean sheets await. All linens, towels are provided. The kitchen is all new and equipped with all you'll need for dining in, including complimentary tea, coffee, milk, cream, soup and snacks. If you would like to go out, you are minutes to dozens of dining establishments to suit all budgets and tastes. The shared driveway is available for your vehicle. On occasion you may have to share the driveway with another guest or myself. Contacts will be exchanged through myself and shuffling will be as quick and painless as possible. Parking on the street is also available and you may park for free during the day but should move the car a few feet every couple hours. The enforcement is quite spotty. Street parking is free after 5 pm until 9 am weekdays and all weekend. Careful about street cleaning nights and winter snow ban. In the warmer months feel free to enjoy the back garden for coffee, suntanning or an evening glass of wine. Feel free to ask any questions! Check in is flexible though usually not before 2pm. Check out is 12 pm. Thanks! David.
Our neighbourhood is known as the Old South End and is a mix of heritage properties, Victorian houses, university and commercial properties located directly next to downtown Halifax. Barrington St is one street below and Queen St. the next above- You are very central to Universities, parks and the harbour front. Basically, in compass terms, travel East ( down the hill ) to the waterfront; travel South ( turning right out the door ) to the two grocery/ liquor stores and Point Pleasant Park beyond; travel North ( turning left out the door ) to Spring Garden Road and the downtown; Travel West ( up the hill ) to Dalhousie University. You are in the ideal location to all the amenities of the city. Questions welcome!

Perfect location directly in front of the breathtaking waterfront and boardwalk. Wake up every day to large bay windows with a great view of the harbor! Take a walk along the beautiful Halifax boardwalk and enjoy the farmer's market. Stroll inland to the center of downtown (Barrington and Spring Garden) where you can find many of Halifax's best restaurants, shops, and bars. Or, simply stay in and enjoy the courtyard, pool, or gym!
This is a great chance to relax and recharge. Imagine yourself walking the boardwalk at sunset, listening to the sounds of the harbor, and taking in the sea breeze. Take a dip in the pool to cool off on a hot sunny day or maybe just read a book at the nearby espresso bar. I've recently added an air conditioner, new queen bed, fresh linens, and comfy pillows to make your stay more comfortable. Discover Halifax from my waterfront home. The boardwalk awaits!
My place is directly across from Bishop’s Landing on the Halifax boardwalk. Within a block radius there are several good restaurants (Bicycle Thief, Ristoranate a Mano, Sea Smoke) or you could walk a few more blocks to Barrington Street or Spring Garden Road, where there are many great shops, restaurants, and bars. It is also only a few blocks from the popular Seaport Farmer's Market at Pier 21.

Imagine waking up in the heart of Halifax and walking to the best bakeries and cafes for breakfast. Or stay in enjoying the comfort of this newly renovated flat: hardwood floors, new furniture, trendy finishes, cable TV and Netflix. If you want to go out at night, you won't have to cab since you can walk to all the best restaurants and bars that downtown Halifax has to offer. And just a 10 minute walk to the new convention centre. This is the best way to experience the city like a true Haligonian, from the centre of it all. You can walk in any direction to find something exciting and unique to Halifax. Stunning oceanfront parks, heritage buildings, excellent markets. You're within a kilometre of the Halifax waterfront; museums and markets, cafes and restaurants, breweries and nightlife, historic architecture and fantastic shopping. This is a modern flat; simple and stylish, convenient and classy. This space is great for anyone looking for a comfy place to socialize and relax, or as we like to call it, a “home away from home.” Perfect for couples or business travellers. Sleep comfortably in the bedroom with a queen sized bed and ensuite bath. There’s also a pullout couch available in the living room for an extra guest or two. The open concept living area has a couch and comfy chair. There is bar style table with seating for two but no formal dining room table. This home is professionally managed by HostOften and has been set up by Haligonians; with traveller's in mind. Use #hostoften to share your trip experiences with our network of guests.
Walk straight out the front door and you will be at the Halifax waterfront; only 4 blocks away. Less than a 10 minute walk East from the apartment and you'll be at Pier 21, the main arrival point for over 1 million immigrants in the early 1900's. Now it's home to a wonderful museum and the Seaport Farmer's Market on the harbour. Enjoy stunning views of George's Island, directly off the shore. Walk another block up the waterfront to Bicycle Thief - my favourite Italian restaurant. You'll want to get a reservation for dinner service! Keep walking down the waterfront to Bishop's Landing and all of the shops and attractions. There will be plenty of places to get seafood and drinks on the waterfront. If you're looking for something affordable to do as a tourist, take the ferry across the harbour to Dartmouth. It is part of the transit system so it only costs $2.50 and runs year round! It's a fun time for anyone who's not from from a port city. Grab a transfer and you can keep going back and fourth. Locals are so friendly that you can bug other people on the ferry to be your tour guide. Walk 10 minutes North of the apartment and you'll be at Citadel Hill. Become a soldier for a day at thisNational Historic Site with stunning views of the city and harbour. Walk all the way south to the tip of the Halifax Peninsula and go through a stroll in Point Pleasant Park. Check out remnants of the old forts that protected the Halifax Harbour in this beautiful protected park. Looking for a fun night out? Just a block away is the Board Room Cafe, a great family friendly spot with hundreds of games to play all night. Or Bearly's House of Blues and Ribs. Live music every night with cheap cover. Uncommon Grounds is a local coffee shop only a block away and is right next to Cafe Chianti which is an upscale Italian restaurant. There is also a Korean restaurant and a Thai restaurant on the same block. Another fun tour just a couple blocks away is at the original Alexander Keith’s Brewery built in 1863. Learn how beer was made and the history of this former mayor of Halifax.
