Vacation rentals in Carnes

Audrey and her husband were awesome hosts! I was not sure how long we needed to stay and when our reservation ran out we were able to stay without any interuption until we were able to close on our home. They allowed us to park our Uhaul on site (a big deal!) which saved us time trying to find storage. The day after we arrived, they came over to meet us and tell us about the area. The cottage was clean, equipped and safe. The antique furnishings in the cottage are fabulous...i cant imagine the stories they have to tell! The wildlife is abundant along with the farm life; cattle, geese, chickens, cats, fish, etc. You'll never have a dull moment at the Ranch Hand Cottage! We were blessed to have 2 new calfs born while we were there. If you want to get out of the city or share the country with your city friends, this is THE place! Poplarville is such a cute town, like a step back in time. I will be recommending Audrey and her cottage to anyone that wants to stay in the area.

This is our second stay at Pond View, and it was just as great as our first stay. Our dogs are so happy to walk the trails and sniff everything this beautiful spot has to offer. This time (it’s spring, and not winter, like our first stay), we heard geese honking, and watched as they splash landed into the pond. We heard more bird calls than we could count, and thoroughly enjoyed the late night thunderstorm from the comfort of a wonderful bed. If you’re looking for peace and serenity, this is the place.

This beautiful rustic cabin on a horse farm has all the modern amenities and a super comfortable king bed. It is my top BNB rental of all time. I loved rocking on the covered front and back porches, enjoying the peaceful serenity surrounded by nature. I also made some new friends with Copper, Cisco, Jack, and Jeffery. It will be my future go-to place to stay. Rob

Great location near Hattiesburg and next to the highway. Very easy to find and check in. Clean and beautiful surroundings and comfortable/private cabin. The cleaning fee is a bit steep ($75) especially if looking to stay for a single night, but otherwise the property was great and I would highly recommend.

The cabin was spotless—truly one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the craftsmanship of the cabin itself was so fun to admire. There’s a lot of heart in this place, and you can feel it. One of the most special moments for me was watching my son’s black lab enjoy the creek. I lost my son in 2020, and seeing her so happy brought a little light to my heart. Everything was thoughtfully prepared—clear instructions, no need to reach out for anything. Laura had it all taken care of. I’m already looking forward to coming back for another soul-soothing getaway close to home.

Such an awesome place to stay! Fantastic responsive host who got me everything I wanted and knew the local area. Extremely friendly and professional. The place was super quiet. Much of the nearby town has train noise but not here. It was a few miles outside of town, super peaceful, in a great nature setting near a pond. Outdoor seating available. My best stay anywhere. Super comfortable bed as well. Highly recommend!

This adorable cottage is exactly what you see in the pictures. The kitchen has updated appliances and the bathrooms are updated as well. Very cute and very comfortable. The little enclosed courtyard was perfect for enjoying a nice evening. We were very relaxed staying here. The *only downside was the train tracks being about a block away and the frequency of the trains coming through blowing their horns repeatedly at night. This is not a reflection on the host nor something that the host can rectify. Guests should be aware that there are trains that come through during the night and this could be noisy, or not, depends upon your tolerance to noise. All in all, a great place to stay and I recommend it to anyone not intolerant to noise.

The guest house is a true gem! It has a charming interior and is located in a peaceful setting. Cindy, the hostess, is friendly and responsive. She lives nearby, which I find comforting because I usually travel to Poplarville alone. However, she allows her guests privacy. This is a wonderful place to stay.
