Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Calumet Township

This cottage was perfect! It had the most impressive views out of anywhere we’ve stayed. The wall of windows in the living room allowed for the perfect view of the harbor. In the kitchen, there was everything we needed. Really, the whole house had everything we needed. It was a great location, easy to find (use Ross’ directions!). We loved that the house was in walking distance of several really great trails. Finally, Ross is a great host. He’s quick to respond, gave wonderful recommendations for good restaurants in Eagle Harbor and for hiking trails. And finally, we loved the art work and decorations in the house! Ross’ photography decorated many walls (he’s really good), and some included historical details on them (the little photos of ships on Lake Superior were labeled with the name of the ship and some fascinating details). We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay during our trip to Houghton! The location was perfectly located for our UTV adventures - central to all our destinations. The house was well-stocked with every amenity we could’ve asked for, making it incredibly comfortable and convenient. The beds were super cozy, and we all slept great. We especially enjoyed using the grill and relaxing by the outdoor fire pit in the evening. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic place. Had all the space we needed. Kitchen had the necessities to cook on site too. Easy access to get to the snowmobile trail. Loved the circle driveway as it made it really easy to navigate and park truck and trailer. Will plan to stay again.

A beautiful, spacious home tucked away surrounded by woods yet within a short distance to town. This house felt safe and private. We enjoyed the sound of the babbling brook in the distance and the occasional deer walking around the back yard. A great chance to unplug, unwind, and leave the electronics alone. The sauna, ping pong table, and expansive back porch with swing added to the charm.

Pretty private area, all the advertised amenities were present and functional. There was a mouse that had been dead for quite a while in one of the closets, but the rest of the space seemed clean. The house is pretty close to the road, but hardly anyone travels on it. We didn’t see any wildlife during our stay but it backs right up to a densely wooded area and we heard a lot of different birds and there were some animal tracks in a dirt patch in the backyard. Towels seemed to be brand new. Overall positive experience.

Great space. Comfy beds, nice seating and a little kitchenette if you want to make food! Appreciated coffee being provided and thee amenities in the bathroom. Quite a nice touch! I will definitely be recommending to others looking for a place in the Hancock/Houghton area!!

I hope that Vern’s place will be our place to stay. They allow pets without extra charges and it was very easy to feel at home and comfortable. The location was about 5 miles from where we needed to be but it was so worth it

Located just 10 minutes from the university, it was an easy drive. One of the best AirBnb’s I’ve been in. Every detail was well thought through and it had great amenities. We were very pleased and would definitely visit again.

The apartment was exactly as described. Great place for two travelers or parents with one to two children. It has a nice view good location to what Houghton has to offer.

Great, cute, clean and brand new looking place! Everything seemed so clean! I was a bit surprised it was inside a pole barn, but it was extremely quiet, peaceful and a quick drive to Houghton for Michigan Tech move out weekend. Great restaurants and bars there! Close to beautiful nature trails, a sweet historic dam, and waterfalls. Very responsive host 😊

Wow! This place was spotless, bed was comfy with lots of pillows, cute coffee bar, huge TV and really hot shower with lots of pressure (soap, shampoo and conditioner provided). Loved the cellphone holder on the wall by the shower!! The fenced in back patio and yard area were a bonus for us. Frederick sent very clear instructions to access the unit and checked on us after our first night. I reached out ahead of our arrival with a few questions, he was very responsive! Rizzo (my dog) and I came up to Michigan to hunt for rocks. The location was great for a home base for day trips. We visited Agate Beach park, Calumet Waterworks beach, Sand Point Lighthouse, Gratiot River County beach, F.J. McLain State Park, Eagle River Beach, Champion Mine Dump, Marquette, Presque Isle park, Nara Nature Park, Little Girls Point and the Champion mine ruins. If you’re looking for quiet, clean and comfortable, this is it!
