The Bunk House

The Bunk House is an 8 by 12 foot shed with 3-4 bunks. There is a twin sized bed across the back, a bunk sized bed on each side and a plank to pull out to accommodate a fourth person in the middle over the walkway. With this adaptation, you have an 8 by 10 foot bed. We provide foam mattresses, sheets, blankets and pillows. There is an air-conditioner and a heater. Bucket toilet behind the bunkhouse. Fire ring available. No pets. The water is from our deep well - tested, certified and delicious!

Our house is the perfect getaway for a family, group of friends or a couple. The lake and gardens around the house provide the quiet and peace of a retreat place, away from the busyness and distractions of the city. It's a very pretty drive to Columbia, MO (about 30 minutes), and 20 minutes to Rocheport, a very cute historical town by the Missouri River. A beautiful attraction that is close to our property is the Warm Springs Ranch. The Clydesdale breeding farm. This is a great place to visit.

Our stay was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the host was very responsive when we needed anything. The only cons with our stay were not the fault of the host, so they deserve 5 stars. This location is within walking distance to some local party bars, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this place is it. That’s not what we were there for, so we did notice the noise level and the unit above us coming in in the middle of the night. However, after the weekend was over, we had a few nights that were calm and peaceful. We would stay again if we needed a week night stay in the area. It had everything we needed. Thank you again to the hosts!

This was a great cabin. It was clean and quiet in March. We enjoyed the pellet grill and the patio. Be aware they let the water out of the lake in March and the boat ramp and dock are unusable. Brown Bend access (30 min) is the closes boat launch we found. Overall, a great stay!

This is the second time we have rented this house. Our whole family loves it! It’s clean and comfortable with plenty of space for all of us. It’s in a calm quiet cove that’s very relaxing. Very nice boat slip and dock.

Shawn’s place was exactly like it was pictured on the listing! Quiet cove and well cleaned. The location was fairly close to everything we needed (no more than 15-20 mins). The beds were all very comfortable. We had an issue with the thermostat and he sent someone out immediately (on a Sunday!) and it was resolved. The house had everything we needed to cook for a large group all week long. Overall our stay was great.
