Looking for some quiet and solitude our cabin is located in the country sitting on 20 acres of wooded land with walking trails, wildlife, and solitude. But we are still just a short drive to nearby communities for numerous activities to enjoy. We have kayaks and a canoe for rent enjoy an evening on a nearby lake watching the sunset and listening to the loons or enjoy some fishing from the kayak. In the winter enjoy our Outdoor Sauna, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, or ice fishing.

The Maynard Cabin, a Civil War era log cabin

The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

We had a wonderful stay at Stephanie’s place! We stayed here as a little weekend get away and it was the perfect place for relaxation. The cabin was cozy, clean, simple and elegant and had a beautiful view of the lake. We will definitely be coming back to stay in the future!

We had a great stay in Park Rapids celebrating a family wedding in town. Our only issue was finding the place — the address needs to be corrected for Google maps to take you to the right place. Easily fixed. Other than that, we had everything we needed and we enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend for a large group. Thank you!

Hickory is absolutely beautiful. Everyone felt comfortable and so much room. Beautiful scenery just look out the window and take it all in. The place is just like the pictures.
