Great work-from-home alternative or staycation during these challenging times! Conveniently located near the Island's village & Seattle ferry, this 200sq ft architecturally-designed, eco-friendly backyard guesthouse is the perfect getaway. Ride into town on the bikes, enjoy the hot tub, garden patio, fire-pit and High-speed wifi!
This is a 200 sq ft guesthouse located next to our main house in the backyard. It has its own bathroom and shower, and kitchenette - a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea selection. A mini-fridge, microwave, electric tea kettle complete the kitchenette. The guesthouse is flooded with natural light and a full suite of blinds on lower windows provides complete privacy should you desire that. Like the unit, the hot water heater is small so short showers (6 mins) are recommended (unless you like them cold). If you like long showers this is probably not the place for you. If the water begins to lose heat, it only takes about 30min to recharge. We also have a pack-n-play available upon request for a baby. Just keep in mind that the space gets pretty tight when it is in there. The guesthouse does not have a TV but you'll find a delightful patio garden with a fire-pit, gas grill and hot tub to enjoy instead. And of course high-speed wifi for streaming on your device. The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential neighborhood near to our little town of Winslow and all its amenities, and close to the Bainbridge/Seattle ferry. While not in the country it has a delightful mix of deep green, moss, and natural sunlight. We think it's perfect. We might have a slight bias, but still. **Please scroll down this page (below the reviews) to read more details on our location and how to get around. NOTE: Due to the current health crisis, we’re taking extra care with our cleaning and to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
Our Island guesthouse is just under a mile (.9), about a 15 minute walk from the Seattle ferry, a 25 minute (1 mile) walk to the quaint village of Bainbridge Island (Winslow) and only a 5 minute walk, through the back of our neighborhood, to our up-town shopping area: Ace Hardware, McDonalds, Walgreens, Safeway, Family Restaurants & of course a Starbucks. In a car or on a bike, it's all moments away. Our residential neighborhood is full of kind, working families and it's quiet. The place has a unique blend of being close in, while feeling a bit further out.
  • A great place to stay while in Bainbridge Island. Very cozy and comfortable and central to the main part of town. Ben & Deb were great hosts and friendly and warm and helpful in every way. Hope to return someday soon!

  • Snug, quiet cottage close to town with a really comfortable bed. Quiet residential neighborhood near ferry. East to get to. Had a good night's sleep.

  • Our stay at this little getaway was so relaxing! The space was slightly smaller than we thought based on the pictures but was the perfect place to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! We never got to meet either of our hosts but they were so sweet and helpful in our messages back and forth! There were some minor cleaning oversights but once we mentioned something to them, they remedied that immediately! One of the chilly days we were there, my husband started a smoky little campfire and roasted some veggie dogs before we hopped into the small hot tub cocooned in bamboo to chat with each other and just look up at the beautiful, twinkling stars. The atmosphere radiated relaxation and the outdoor string lights added charm and whimsy to the backyard entertaining area. One thing to note: We realized very quickly that the water temperature in the shower could shift immediately from the Misty Mountains to Mount Doom in the Black Land of Mordor. Be careful if you’re sudsing up and singing out heart out like Anna Kendrick without a care in the world and accidentally bump the water handle. I may have burned my backside slightly before I realized what happened. Definitely take short showers to preserve the hot water of more than one person is hoping to get squeaky clean but we’re used to that at home so that wasn’t any sort of adjustment for us. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay! Even in February, there were still some things to see and do and we had wonderful hosts!

    Ember2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great backyard hideaway. Check in was a breeze and communication was on point. We really enjoyed using the hot tub. We take short showers so the lack of hot water wasn't an issue for us. Would stay again.

  • A wonderful space! Deb was great at communicating and extremely kind! They had some great local tips as well! I would highly recommend!

  • We had the best time here! Just far enough away from the main house so that you feel like you’re on your own, the hot tub was great and it was the cutest little space!

    Katelyn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin couldn’t be more perfect for a quick getaway. Already hoping to return for a longer retreat!

    Laura2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The coziest lil cabin! Perfect for a quick overnight trip. Felt nice, private and quiet. Dogs were cute too!

    Courtney2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tonia’s place is a lovely place to stay if you’re looking to get out into nature. It very much feels as if it’s in the middle of the woods. The cabin itself is very comfy, with great ammenities. If you’re looking to relax and kickback in the woods this really is the place.

    Elisabeth2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was in such a beautiful place. The hot tub was awesome! And the local suggestions were great too!

    Matthew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin!

    Robert2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cabin that packs a lot into a small space. The location is close to Bloedel reserve, and also Hood canal bridge and the gateway to Olympic peninsula.

    Jeremy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tonia was very communicative! I was expecting for a little more privacy but overall had a great stay. The hot tub was a nice touch. I’d say one couple is perfect and if more than two people are coming along it would be about right if you hang out a lot at the house. I’d stay here again :)

Spend lazy days on the deck as boats, seals, and herons pass by, or watch a film by the light of the wood-burning stove. Flowers, ferns, and a sparkling Tiffany lampshade add to the fresh vintage charm of this tranquil retreat with a pretty garden.
The cottage features great western views of the mountains and water with spectacular sunsets, passing boats and wildlife watching. We see lots of birds including eagles, Great Blue Herons, kingfishers and hummingbirds as well as seals and otters who often play in the waters out front. Large windows and high ceilings create a light filled space that is both cozy and inviting.
This Tolo Road home is at the end of a dead-end street in a very quiet neighborhood. Bainbridge Island — a 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle — has great museums, shopping, and dining, plus lots of hiking trails and parks with beach access.
  • This cozy rental cottage has it all — wonderful views, a secluded location right on the bay, and super-friendly hosts including Jan, Greg, a coup full of chickens, and the welcoming neighbor’s dog, Olga. It’s a magical place to stay. Highly recommended!

    Erik2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were great and readily available if we needed anything. Enjoyed the cottage very much.

    Isac2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our weekend at Jan's place! The cottage is very cozy and clean, with a lovely view of the water. The bed is super comfy, and there are lots of extra blankets if you stay up late by the fire. Also we loved our welcome cookies! Highly recommended.

    Katrina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Greg and Jan’s place. Super cute with a beautiful view and easy proximity to everything you need on the rest of the island. We really liked the woodstove, kitchen and amazing deck. Jan and Greg were also easy to communicate with. Would definitely return.

    Stephie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage on a beautiful island! We loved it.

    Ryan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable garage apartment with a view. Very helpful hosts. Be sure to visit the chickens!

    Tracey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are headed to Bainbridge Island, this is the best spot for a stay. It is a small cottage over a double garage looking out at Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, all the wildlife in the area, dozens of birds and hummingbirds, sea life, and the house chickens, Marilyn, Dot, and Joyce. Jan has made this a cozy, clean, attractive place to stay. The wood stove saved me when the power went out during a winter snow storm. Your will need a car or be willing to use a taxi service to get into downtown Winslow where the main shops, art museum, gallery, grocery, bakeries, and restaurants are located. Lynwood Center is 10 minute drive and offers food and a classic movie theater. Jan had homemade granola and oatmeal cookies for my arrival and was ready to answer any questions I had.

    Marcia2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jan’s place was truly amazing, we felt so at home and welcomed in this beautiful cottage. The views were amazing and it was super close by to everything we needed to do around Bainbridge. We hope to stay again.

Steps from the water - and a beachside hot tub - our studio is a great place to recharge. Take a pleasant walk or bike ride to restaurants and shops - or head to nearby swimming beaches if it’s hot, or go for a hike in the Olympics (45 minutes away).
The Studio at Frog Palace is our recently remodeled guest space on Appletree Cove, a mile outside of Downtown Kingston. With a luxurious, adjustable-firmness queen bed, new kitchen and bathroom, and adjacent shared washer and drier, it can comfortably accommodate up to 2 adults (air bed and outside tent spaces can be arranged). Kitchen essentials include pots/pans, dishes, electric kettle, microwave, dishwasher, and stocked coffee and half-and-half.
Although Frog Palace is secluded, there's lots to do. Along with shops, restaurants, and a movie theater all within a 5 minutes by bike or a 20-minute walk on great sidewalks, the property fronts onto more than a mile of walkable beaches, and is near great swimming spots. Outings to nearby trailheads are easily arranged (the Quinalt, Duckabush, Skokomish, and Hamma Hamma rivers are popular, along with Mt. Townsend and Mt Zion), and we can help you plan a dayhike and get weather reports/maps. Kayak and Stand-up paddleboards are also available for rent in Kingston.
  • Beautiful, quiet, rustic

    Stuart2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Kingston and it was a great escape from the city. The views from the hot tub down were great at all times of day. We enjoyed drinking our fresh coffee every morning (thanks Jimmy!), bundled up on the chairs down on the dock. The studio stayed warm and cozy. Mary provided all the information we needed to be comfortable. :)

    Kaysi2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place is so cozy. It’s a great spot for getting away and unplugging for a while. The hot tub was nice and hot, and private. It was great looking out on the sound both day an night. We took a day trip into Seattle. Mary made the great suggestion to take the Bainbridge Island walk on passenger ferry to downtown Seattle, rather than taking our car on the Kingston/Edmonds ferry. We had a much more enjoyable time that way. Thanks Mary!

    Rachel2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space. Our weekend getaway was wonderfully romantic! The hot tub on the waterfront blew our minds! You will love this place!!

    Miles2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent view, especially from the hot tub! Space was very clean, Mary was very friendly and allowed us our privacy while also letting us know if anything was needed she would help. Had an amazing stay and will stay again in future travels.

    Taylor2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This a phenomenal stay, definitely recommend!

    Olivia2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was a delightful place to stay. The place was as advertised. It was close to downtown Kingston and had a great view of Appletree Cove and the Ferry. Mary was quick to respond to communications and was very accommodating. We appreciated the cleanliness of the space and it was very comfortable. We would stay here again.

  • We had an amazing weekend at Phyllis and Troy's! Bex is just as sweet as has been mentioned in every other review. We brought our dog Remy along, and he's usually pretty nervous around dogs, but he got along swimmingly with Bex. My partner and I would definitely be interested in coming back.

    Israel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and relaxing weekend at Phyllis & Troy's Cabin. It's a remote location that is great for escaping the city. Troy checked us in upon arrival and showed us around the cabin. He was helpful, brief and very welcoming. They even let us spend time with their adorable pup, Bex. Would recommend for a weekend getaway!

    Molly 2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Phyllis and Troy were wonderful hosts! Super responsive and informative. The space is absolutely adorable! So cozy and relaxing. We loved everything about it!

  • A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a quiet restful getaway. Top notch! Great hosts! Would stay there again and again.

    Maggie2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cabin was perfect for our “weekend in the woods”! Much closer to the Bainbridge Ferry dock than we’d expected which was a pleasant surprise. Phyllis and Troy were great hosts who showed us around the cabin and took time to meet our dogs. Can’t wait to stay here again!

    Jess2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay!

    Karen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this beautiful cabin highly enough! The hosts and amenities were amazing, the location was perfect for secluded relaxation (but still close enough to anything you may want in town), and the library was absolutely TO DIE FOR. We will definitely be back for another stay.

After a relaxing stroll around this leafy, coastal area, get cozy on the outdoor sectional with a book and soak up the ocean air under the festoon lights. A soft gray color palette and wood and copper accents create a homey studio sanctuary.
The studio has everything you need for your stay, including a fully stocked kitchen. The space accommodates two adults. However, if you have a little one with you, we can make the space for a co-sleeper or pack n' play!
The cottage sits behind the main house in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by 80-year-old evergreen trees and near tons of great coffee shops and restaurants. Just blocks away, there is a staircase that leads to Golden Gardens Beach.
  • Awesome hidden place. Real cozzy and great for a stay-cation

  • Great location and perfect for a small family.

    Megan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Cozy space and beautiful views with a fun (older) kid loft. Anne was pleasant and we enjoyed our quick time in the guest house.

    Jessica2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely space and beautiful view!!! That alone makes this place the perfect retreat. Anne & Scott's attention to detail -- delicious coffee, cozy bedding, a well stocked kitchen, high quality bath products, floss, tampons(!!!) -- really take this place to the next level. We are brainstorming excuses to return to Bainbridge just to stay here. Perhaps, here is excuse enough!

    Steph2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was a wonderful and accomodating host. The studio was beautiful, spotlessly clean and well appointed with numerous thoughtful touches ranging from local coffee to a sweet xylophone we enjoyed taking turns playing. The bunk loft was a huge hit with our kids who wanted to move in permanently!

    Kyle2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a getaway.

    Marylynn2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great time on Bainbridge Island. Anne & Scott’s place was perfect for us and our little doggy. The views were great and the location was ideal. We walked to restaurants/cafes and down to the beach. Everything else (hikes, ferry, shops) was a short drive away. Fives stars! Super cozy. Loved the high ceilings and open layout. Anne and Scott were great hosts and made sure everything went smoothly. And our dog loved playing with their sweet pooch Hank.

    Eric2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was unique and cozy with a gorgeous view to the Puget Sound and within walking distance of the beach and local eateries. Sweet little touches were scattered throughout showing the effort of the hosts in making their place stand out (local coffee, fresh milk, recommendations for interesting places to visit on the island). The bed was ridiculously comfortable and the gas stove warmed up the place nicely. My husband, pup, and I were very happy with the experience and would stay again.

Our bright and airy studio cottage is a great place for a get away. The queen size bed with new pillow top mattress offers a good night sleep. Spend a lazy morning with complimentary coffee or tea and muffins on the deck overlooking lawns and gardens surrounded by towering cedar trees. The cottage is a short walk to the beach and grocery store. Walking trails abound. White Horse Golf Course is just a short drive away. Plenty to do, or not.
The cottage is detached from our home with private entrance. A small kitchen is equipped with mini fridge, microwave and hotpot for making coffee and tea which are both provided. There are dishes, glassware and utensils, as well.
Indianola is a rural, quiet waterfront village at the end of the road on the Kitsap Peninsula. A short walk from the cottage will take you to the Indianola Country Store where Rob and his crew serve up great soups and sandwiches from the deli. Fred's favorite is the Ruben. You can get your lunch to go and walk just half a block to the historic Mosquito Fleet dock and community beach. There are also miles of trails to explore in the area. Eighteen hole White Horse golf club is very close by.
  • Always a pleasure! Thanks again!

  • Cute little guest house. I would have loved blackout curtains but otherwise it was a lovely space. About 10 min walk to the water but the beach says it's for residents only, so I'm not actually sure I was allowed to go down to the beach or use the pier.

Beautiful custom home located in Kingston that accentuates the panoramic view of the Puget Sound from each room!
High-bank water-front property located 6 miles away from the Kingston-Edmonds Ferry. This house is the perfect place to get away from it all. Take a seabatical and unwind - enjoy panoramic views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and downtown Seattle. Curl up with a book in the observation room, grill or play games in the backyard, or sit in any room and experience the constantly changing scenery. Watch as the sailboats, cruise ships, and barges make their way in and out of the port of Seattle. Witness eagles gracefully dive for fish or hover at the edge of the bluff when it is windy. Look through the binoculars to see if you can spot whales, seals, or otters. Sit in the hot tub or around the fire pit at night and view the lights of the city twinkle and planes taking off and landing at Sea-Tac airport. This home is equipped with a keyless entry lock that creates guest specific door codes for your security and convenience. Kitchen is stocked with basic cookware for your use. Coffee provided! Smart TV allows you to access your streaming accounts and local channels. ~ 6 miles from the Kingston/Edmonds Ferry Terminal. ~ Beach access is only a 10 minute walk away. ~ Playground only 5 minute walk away. ~ Located on a dead-end street, so local traffic only ~ There are no fences in the backyards of this neighborhood, our neighbors (and their dogs) are very friendly and will say hello when they see you.
  • The house was beyond our wildest dreams. So many thoughtful touches from the hosts - we had everything we needed (and then some).

    Rae2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our family gathered here for my son's wedding and activities surrounding the wedding. At first we thought it was a bit farther out than we thought, but it is actually very handy to many locations. This house is amazing! There are views of the Sound from every room! Very cool design! I loved the "nook" by the master bedroom and also the loft with the hammock chair. Fun place to have morning coffee! There was plenty of space for all of us, the amenities were great; nice brands of shampoo and hand lotions, extra toothpaste/brushes if you needed as well as contact lens supplies. There are coffee beans and a grinder so we had wonderful fresh coffee every morning. Plenty of cooking utensils, huge refrigerator (we ate lots of meals here) and pantry. The living room couch was so comfortable and great place to gather. The BEDS!! Oh! They were SO comfortable!! We all enjoyed the hot tub at various times, the showers in the bathrooms were great and there were ample towels on hand. There are binoculars to use which were really handy identifying boats and there is an eagle family nearby as we saw them fishing every morning. They fly low just beyond the edge of the cliff/bank, at eye level. It was awesome! Any questions we had were answered very quickly by Justin and Lauren; they were great hosts! We hope to stay here again when we return to the area!

    Cynthia2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fun house with outstanding views and every detail thought out. It was a great place to spend Christmas!

    Jeanne2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend the peaceful, large "Seabattical Escape" in Kingston for couples or groups up to 8! The incredible views, the impeccable cleanliness, the abundance of towels / toiletries / super-soft blankets / kitchen tools / other necessities, the stylish comfort, and the extra special touches made us feel welcome and relaxed. What a perfect place to go for healing and rejuvenating! You will like the body-hugging hammock chair in the sun/view room that is up the ladder and on the 3rd level! From up there, from the huge kitchen, and from the big comfy living room sectional couch, you would enjoy watching so many birds and boats pass by. You will also enjoy the master bedroom's walk-in closet with lots of hangers and racks! Bring your own favorite foods and sauces! Lots of fridge and freezer space as well as a large pantry of shelves and some basics (e.g. salt, pepper, cooking oil, plastic wrap, foil, wax paper)! If we weren't cooking, we were out enjoying delicious meals and attentive service at the family-friendly Kingston Ale House. The Albertson's and marketplace grocery store are within 12 to 15 minutes. In this house, you feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life. But if you want to visit the city/enjoy some nightlife, you can hop on the nearby ferry to Seattle ( a 40-minute trip ) then come back and relax again! :-)

Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms are excellent. Location is also incredible. Indianola is a charming and family-friendly small town. Most importantly, it’s a place you can get away from the busy city life and immerse yourself in the feelings of peacefulness. We would rate this place as one of the nicest, and real value of all the places we have stayed in. Totally recommend it! Thanks for making our Christmas such a jolly one. We will be back!

SPACE: This is a separate studio apartment in a custom-built New England saltbox style home. You have your own entrance, parking, laundry, morning kitchen, bathroom, and 2 closets. Your queen-size bed has a new Beautyrest Silver extra firm mattress topped with 2-inch memory foam and a pilllow topper. This is a tranquil, modern, airy space with custom-milled hardwood floors.
This is a mother-in-law style apartment built into the back of our house. It used to be connected to our house with two doors, which have been sealed and soundproofed. You'll enjoy custom milled Douglas fir floors, an electric fireplace, and a whole backyard to yourself in this quiet, forested beach community. On rainy days, enjoy the 32" smart TV with digital antenna. The kitchen is small scale - microwave, refrigerator, sink, toaster oven, and single burner induction cooktop. Washer and dryer are in your unit.
This guest home is in Indianola, a tiny, quiet, town on the beach, surrounded by forest. Indianola lies within the boundaries of the Port Madison Reservation. In 1916, it was a summer/weekend community only reached by steamboat. Today, it is a small, friendly rural village known as a haven for artists. The 900-foot Indianola Dock was built when the Mosquito Fleet provided the majority of transportation on Puget Sound. Jutting hundreds of feet out into the water, the dock is considered one of the best places in the area to watch the stars or any major celestial event. No moorage, but you can pull up your kayak or canoe.

Welcome to the bright and cheerful Hazel Studio! This airy space is stylishly appointed and ready to become your home base as you visit our beautiful part of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Peninsula, and the quaint town of Poulsbo.
The Hazel Studio is one of two rental units on our property, and is located upstairs, above our garage. You'll have your own entrance, with an easy keypad lock, that will usher you into the interior stairwell. Soft glowing step lights will guide you up the stairs, even if you arrive late into the night. With vaulted ceilings, ten windows, and a clean, neutral color palette, the space is radiant regardless of the conditions outside. The ductless mini split system is super quiet, energy efficient, and will heat or cool to keep the temperature just right. If you require total darkness to get a good night’s sleep, fear not! Our custom blackout shades pull down easily to provide a dark sleep environment. If you prefer to wake naturally with the daylight, the east-facing bed nook will provide an energetic way to greet the day. The queen-sized, all-natural and certified organic latex mattress is firm, with a plush top layer to alleviate pressure points. The feather down comforter and pillows, along with the OEKO-TEX certified 100% linen bedding are thermo-regulating, high-quality, and so beautiful. *Please keep in mind that the bed is positioned up against two walls, and there is a sloped ceiling on the entry side, so this may not be the ideal space for those who are mobility challenged. The kitchenette provides you with a retro-style mini fridge, a portable, single induction burner, a convection microwave oven, and an electric kettle. As natives of the coffee-obsessed Pacific Northwest, we know it is a very personal ritual, and with that in mind we provide a few of the most classic brew methods; a Chemex pour-over carafe, and a French press. Ground coffee will be available for the Chemex carafe. We also stock a variety of teas. Our kitchenette contains the basic tools for simple meal preparation, and some staple pantry items. Lovingly collected and curated pieces furnish the Studio, and every effort has been made to maximize the small space while maintaining a gracious, open feel. Reducing our environmental impact, while providing the best possible guest experience, is a high priority for us, and we are continually seeking out ways to further this goal. You will find these efforts throughout the Studio space; from the use of natural materials in the furnishings, to compostable trash bags, and plastic-free bamboo toilet paper and laundry detergent. We clean the space using natural products and ingredients, and we prioritize zero-waste packaging. A few things to note: *This is our full-time home, and we really live here! We have help in managing our spaces when we travel ourselves, but this is a business and a lifestyle that we find incredibly fulfilling and for which we take great pride. As such, you will see us working around our yard and property, as it is a constant work in progress. We have many interests and hobbies, and so those may also be visible at times. We are always cognizant of not disturbing our guests, so noise-generating activity will typically not take place during generally observed quiet hours. *The opening of the garage doors is slightly audible, but the openers are the smoothest and quietest available, and we won’t be using them earlier than about 8:00am. *Because we live here, we also have friends and family over, and while we entertain our own guests in the private portion of our house and yard, it may at times be visible and/or audible. *We also have another guest suite listed on AirBnB, and those guests will also be accessing their own private entrance on the back side of the main house. *At this time, there is no dedicated outdoor space for Hazel Studio guests, however we hope to change this in the near future! *While there is no parking on our property itself at this time, the adjacent street parking is plentiful.
Our neighborhood is the heart of "Old Town" Poulsbo, and is perfectly positioned for so many activities! It's a pleasant, 6 minute walk to Historic Downtown Poulsbo, with its wonderful shops, restaurants, and the gorgeous waterfront park. Starbucks is a five minute walk away. There is a bus stop just two blocks from our house, from which you can catch the #390 bus to the Bainbridge ferry, and hop over to Seattle.

  • This place had a large ceiling which made it feel like a cozy cabin - all the kitchen amenities you need and a few incidentals were a nice touch. Excellent responses and a great escape from the city

  • It is very nice and quiet. Close to a lot of places. Our family lives in a city nearby so it worked very well for our stay. The small courtyard was perfect. If it hadn't rained so much, we would've used the fire pit.

  • This is a nice, cozy location which is very private and quiet.

    Dan2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ronen and Lori have curated a calm oasis in the woods near the beach. The guest house was secluded and private, with many thoughtful touches. Ronen pointed out the flashlight in the event of a power outage (I thought we might need it the second night). The kitchen was well-appointed, and if we'd been there longer, the washer-dryer would have been practical. We came here to unplug and connect with both nature and with each other, and the guest house fit the bill. We went for walks to the beach, saw a seal, greeted the neighbors' chickens, played board games, and read books. We slept so deeply and woke feeling rested. It was the perfect getaway from the city.

  • Very good host, I had a rough day and came several hours after my check in time and he said it was no problem and showed me to my room and it was very cozy but not to little just perfect, felt like I was staying in a cabin. He wasn't loud at all upstairs and didn't disrupt me or anyting because he knew I needed to study. He even went out of his way and printed out some stuff for me which was awesome. Bed is comfortable. I like the privacy there is a door with a chain lock on your side and a chair in front of it so you can feel safe someone not barging in as well as two locks on the main entry door. You have your own bathroom that has a steam shower if you want to relax or you can just have a regular shower, shampoo if you forget and body wash, even television like not just a couple of channels and Wi-Fi worked great. This was my first experience using Airbnb and it was a great first experience.

  • Such a wonderful stay! The small touches, homemade goodies, and wonderful hospitality made this weekend fantastic. Thanks again for hosting us!

  • When we first saw the cottage among the cedars on Airbnb we were immediately attracted to it and booked it for a long weekend / birthday getaway celebration. So glad we did! It was a perfect, thoroughly delightful stay. The cottage is situated so well among the cedars you see them wherever you look; and the cottage itself is truly elegant with beautiful natural light, and smart nice touches here, there, and everywhere! Their family history really shines through. And all the delicious homemade treats were delightful and appreciated. Such beautiful grounds and gardens to enjoy from within the cottage and while cooling off from the sauna, which, since we visited in January was a very special treat. Bonus: there is a lot of good information to help newbies like us enjoy it in the traditional Finnish manner. It was a fun experience. Nancy and Duane are such warm, gracious and welcoming hosts. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and are so thankful to them for sharing this. We hope to be back!

    Alyssa2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a place! Nancy and Duane are such warm and welcoming hosts and this little cabin is a relaxing slice of solitude. Their whole property is so beautiful and serene. The cabin is very well outfitted with all sorts of thoughtful touches and the bread/cookies/breakfast items are really above and beyond. It was super clean. I loved the sauna and used it all three days - such a nice little bonus. It was the perfect place to ring in the New Year - thanks Nancy and Duane for such a perfect stay!

    Emma2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Duane and Nancy's place it's beautiful and the perfect weekend getaway from Seattle. Duane and Nancy were very thoughtful and enquired about what we'd like to eat before we even got there. We had freshly baked bread and cookies and fresh blueberry jam when we got there. They greeted us when we got there and told us a few things worth doing around the area. Nancy also showed us some of the art she picked up in India. The cottage itself is gorgeous with beautiful wood finishings and very tastefully decorated. It is well lit had everything for a comfortable stay. There's some light road noise that really didn't bother us too much. We really enjoyed the detached sauna and took contrast showers everyday we stayed there. It's close enough to visit many places in Bainbridge and one place we'd easily recommend is the Bloedel reserve. We had a great stay there and we would like to thank Duane and Nancy for their hospitality.

    Abhiram2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a cozy retreat under the big cedars on a cloudy day in the Pacific Northwest (we were there in the winter) and it would be delightful to sit outside on the patio on a sunny day to enjoy the lovely garden. The sauna is an added treat! Duane and Nancy are wonderful hosts and thoughtful, among other things providing homemade breads and jams for breakfast, and home-baked cookies. The cottage and sauna are impeccably clean. It's a good location for further exploring the area. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Indianola!

  • What a wonderful sanctuary in the woods. We will for sure be returning guests!!!

    Kathleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Duane were so kind and welcoming, making our visit feel so personal. The garden was refreshing to walk through to the cottage, and the cottage itself was so cozy and well stocked with toiletries. The sauna was a wonderful addition that really was the cherry on top of the whole stay!

  • Such a wonderful stay! A great fall refresher with reflective relaxation. Perfect scenery, easy directions, delightful touches, a truly luxury stay with a touch of Nordic history/culture sprinkled on top. Hope to stay again soon!

A 5-minute walk to the beach, this beautiful home has everything you need for a sun-soaked, relaxation-filled getaway. Lounge in the sunny nook, sunbathe on the deck, take a walk along the Sound. Great for families and small group events.
This getaway home includes two bedrooms on the main floor, both with full size beds. There is a sleeping loft accessible by ship's ladder, which sleeps up to five people, with two full beds and one twin bed in separate nooks. Beach essentials provided: towels, beach chairs, wagon, and more. Want to try catching some crab? Crab pots are included. Bring or rent your own rowboat. Use at your own risk. You will need to get a fishing license. We can provide bait if given a few days notice. You'll want to know how to handle the crab once you've caught it - they're alive and they pinch! It's not for the faint of heart.
Indianola is its own kind of place. Cozy, surrounded by evergreens and water views. The people are warm, and welcome a wave and hello. A small goods/produce market opens up on Saturday mornings. There are public tennis courts, a boat launch, and a public library. You just might end up moving here...
  • A great location in a peaceful neighborhood , just up the street from the beach. Excellent communication with host and a very tidy space. This a quaint place to relax , unwind and explore the surrounding areas.

  • Beautiful location and clean living space. Indianola is a quaint, quirky town with a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier and the sound. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a bit without having to drive too far!

  • We asked to stay at VeraEves place for a wedding event in Indianola. Although we didn't personally stay there 8 of our friends did. They said that the place was clean, accurate and inviting. These two couldn't be better ambassadors to the Indianola community. If you're a group of friends or a family looking for a place to stay in Indianola and want to discover the true spirt of this place I would encourage you to stay here. Communication and flexibility A++!

    Ryan2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • A group of us stayed for a weekend while visiting for a wedding in Kingston (quick 15 min drive). The house is simple, but also really cozy. I can imagine it being a great place to host friends, or have a weekend away, any time of the year, with its great patio (summer) and fireplace (winter). Indianola is super cute, not much beyond the pier and General Store, but inviting and beautiful. We spent our day enjoying the beach, checking out a local brewery and bakery, and playing frisbee golf in the backyard. The house has everything you need, and Vera goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. If I lived closer, this house would be in my regular rotation for weekend away spots.

    Brooke2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived very late and had no difficulty accessing the home. We found it to be very clean and the description was as promised. The neighbors were friendly - particularly the staff at the convenience store down the street!! Our vehicle broke down and we had it towed to a shop down the street for repair. We found that this was the perfect home to have chosen as we were forced to homestead for 2 days/nights and the neighborhood offered us the ability to do that in comfort with no regrets!!! Thank you VeraEve for an AMAZING vacation!!!

  • The cabin was nothing less than an amazing...just like Lizbeth. Her touches and personal feel to the space made it far more enjoyable for us. It was spotless, convenient and we had no complaints at all. Close to stores and walks around the area. And the neighborhood, and neighbors, were great. Friendly folks in a friendly area. Sully’s a few blocks away was great to. Only note I have is if you’re taller watch your head in the bathroom. That shelf had some teeth. 🤕 A great stay for us and an amazing host. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Thank you.

  • A delightful retreat in a quiet garden setting. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to make a big brunch the next morning. We loved all the coffee options available to sample, and the guide book with local tips and suggestions was very well done. Everything you would need for a wonderful Pacific NW getaway. The floors do get a little cold in the winter so maybe pack your cozy slippers!

**Formerly called Harrison Street Guest Suite in Downtown Poulsbo** Welcome to our cozy guest suite! Our apartment is stylishly furnished and ready to become your home base as you visit our beautiful part of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Peninsula, and the quaint town of Poulsbo.
Hawthorn Suite is one of two guest spaces on our property. The guest suite is attached to our home, but is accessed by a private entrance at the back of our house, and is on the ground level. The space is quiet, and cozy, with a bit of a rustic vintage vibe. In the bedroom, you’ll find a queen size bed with feather down comforter, and plenty of storage space for clothes. The living room sofa is extra deep and very comfortable, and will sleep one person, like a twin size bed. Extra bedding will be supplied if necessary. The eat-in kitchen is stocked with the basic tools and dishes, but please feel free to ask if there's anything specific you're hoping to find, and we will do our best to accommodate it! **We recently added a small Smart TV to our guest suite, but some of the older photos of the space do not reflect this. The TV is currently set up for Netflix streaming using a guest profile**
  • Britt's place was beyond ideal. I was in the area for a sports weekend and coming back to this inviting and warm place each night was exactly what I needed. Location is close enough to the main part of the very charming town to walk to one of the local breweries in the evening. I'm already planning my next weekend visit and if Britt's place is available I won't even bother looking for other places to stay.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • My Husband and I had so much fun staying here. Britt, really thinks of the little things which was nice. The bed was AMAZING, pillows great, so comfortable. Plus she provided a fan in the bedroom! So nice. Didn't need to go hunting for anything, everything we needed was right there for our use. Very cute place, homey and inviting. We'd definitely stay again if given the opportunity.

  • We stayed for 2 nights. Our stay was so comfortable. It was nice having a full kitchen to have relaxed meals in, especially since we got a good amount of snow during our stay. The puzzles and games were such a good touch and allowed us to fully enjoy our snowy evening in. Check in was very easy, the location was incredibly close to the downtown areas and a main road but still very quiet! Amazing stay!

  • I don't think I can say enough about how amazing our stay was. Maureen and Molly provide such a personal and thoughtful stay. First of all, the house is amazing. The photos don't due it justice. Wonderful furniture, comfy beds, lots of natural light and lots of spaces for people to gather or spaces for some quiet time. The views are wonderful and we took lots of walks along the water. The kitchen is set up so well and we were able to prepare some tasty meals. Molly and Maureen gave us great suggestions as far as grocery stores and fun things to do. We travel a lot and stay mostly in vacation rentals. This was our best ever experience in a vacation rental and I cannot wait to come back.

    Penny2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a home to rent in Kitsap or Bainbridge areas, you need to check out this house! Molly was an amazing host and the house is incredible. Cozy, quiet and private but close to Bainbridge ferry and town as well as a reasonable drive to hiking in Olympic National Park. I cannot say enough about this place. We are sure to return.

    Curtis2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 4 days here with another family and our dogs. The location simply couldn't be better, it is right on the beach and the dogs loved swimming and chasing other dogs. Our kids loved beach combing when the tide went out. Close to some amazing shops (15 mins away) or big box stores if that's your preference (30 mins). In terms of the house, it's simply perfect. Super clean, everything you need and more, great beds/linens, amazing view, high end appliances. Dealing with Molly was super easy, she was responsive, helpful with local information, all around a great experience. If we could give this place more than 5 stars, we would.

    Phyllis2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of eight friends rented this house for a weekend. Every August we rent a home somewhere on the Sound for one weekend, and this house in Indianola is by far the best one we've rented to date. The home was built in the 1990s and is both charming and has been meticulously maintained. It is the only house I've rented in Western Washington that truly feels like a home I would want to live in. The house easily accommodated eight people and is located on the beach, so views of the Sound, Bainbridge Island, and the mainland are unobstructed. Molly was a very gracious host-we had some questions for her during our stay and she responded immediately. Also, when we arrived, it was obvious that the house had been thoroughly cleaned for our arrival. I absolutely recommend renting this home, and as long as it is available on Airbnb, I will certainly be renting it again.

    Matthew2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home was so dreamy...one of those places that makes you think "how can I make this happen for our family one day." We enjoyed every meal outside looking out on the water. There is no better way to wake up than to sunrise on the water, sitting with a cup of coffee hearing the water lap up on shore. Molly was an incredible hostess. The propane tank ran out on the grill and she ran one down to us in minutes. She is so incredibly responsive! There was everything we needed and more to make some great meals. Molly told us where to get the best seafood to grill and it was delicious! She knew we had children with the group and she had gotten out tons of toys and offered a pack and play for the baby which was so thoughtful. There are also beach toys for days. I could go on and on. In short, this was the perfect restorative and wholesome vacation home to spend time with family and dear friends and we would come back without hesitation!

    Java2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This home is phenomenal! It has a historic charm, but has been kept in such amazing condition! It is sparkling clean, with every amenity you could possibly need. The hosts are kind and welcoming, and available for any questions. The peace and joy that comes from having the beach literally out your back door can not be overstated. When the tide went out in the morning, the dogs had the time of their lives running up and down the beach, running in to other pups and kind neighbors along the way. It is a wonderful get-away from the city, but still so close that it’s not an exhausting trip.

  • Lily and Cam were gracious host who have put together such a a stunning / cozy space. The space is great for a couple. Situated in a quiet, wooded area on Bainbridge Island. During nights you you can hear the rain falling on the roof and the occasional frogs croaking. Well curated decor and materials. Lily and Cam are responsive and all around great people. 5/5

    Souk2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lily’s place exceeded our expectations! It is an absolutely beautiful cabin, super stylish, but exceedingly comfortable. Clean, pretty, every little detail added to the magic of the space. Lily has thought of everything (slippers! a flashlight by the door should you need it to get to your car! fresh eggs in the fridge!). We have stayed at a lot of Airbnb places, but this one was a real standout. As it’s new, I’m sure it will book up fast once people know about it! We will be back.

  • This place is beautifully designed and gorgeously furnished by the owners themselves! We noticed lots of extra touches and thoughtful inclusions. The bedroom and bathroom are both A+ (the bed, in particular, is fabulous). While it’s not quite a full kitchen (no full size oven), it was enough for our needs. It was the basement of the house but it really feels like a separate space. The outside areas are another highlight, as renters have their own patio areas, including a grill, hammock, and a fabulous view of the surroundings. There’s a lovely stone walkway around the house to the door, just make sure you are sure footed. There’s a chance to have two private enclosed areas to rest, work or read since there’s a long hallway dining room separating. It was nice for us when we both had different plans of what to do. The longer we spent time inside the more we adored this gorgeous place. Last but not least, the owners upstairs are a) pretty quiet and b) incredibly friendly. Very responsive to questions and needs. Would absolutely stay here again!

  • WOW! The. View. Holy smokes. We absolutely love every moment at Rebeccas place. The view and accommodations were outstanding. She was there to welcome us and gave lots of great local tips. We were absolutely shattered to have to leave! If you're looking for a quiet, charming, well decorated place with a stunning view and lots of wildlife around this is it. I hope to come back again and again!!

  • Beautiful views, comfortable space and a nice place to relax!

    Dakota2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts Wonderful private space

    Louis2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sublime. Absolutely wonderful, all around! Our hosts are some of the most thoughtful, welcoming, genuinely friendly people we have met thru AirB&B! You're first met with a peaceful set of stone steps, a stroll up thru a gorgeous arbor of grape vines...thru a garden with water features, a zen pathway past a breathtaking country view, and down a few other steps to a cozy seating area with a firepit for the evening or plenty of dappled shade from the afternoon sun. As gorgeous as the property is, we should not have been surprised by the suite itself! Pictures do not quite capture how well things are put together with artistic focal points throughout. We spent the 1st 30min there just admiring the decor! The King bed in the bedroom was quite comfy and the sofa bed in the living room was nice and comfortable as well. The kitchenette had all the basics and more! It's obvious that they spent quite a bit of time considering their guest's comfort. The giant jetted tub was a big family favorite for us, as we rarely get to relax at home with the kids. There's not an actual shower, per say, but it was not missed. After a quiet night's sleep, we woke up to birds chirping and explored the walking trails to see a lot of local wildlife. Their KOI POND is well worth the visit alone. So peaceful and unique. If you're looking for a private retreat away from the hustle and bustle that will let you ACTUALLY relax...this is it. We highly recommend this listing: it exceeded all of our expectations! 10/10 will visit again ♡

  • Atop Ola was enchanting. The drive there reminded us of Norwegian forests, fjords and tidy farms. Once we arrived, the scene transformed into a sun drenched Tuscan hilltop with a short stone path that took us past a wood worker's shop, bubbling fountains, many plants and flowers, to a trellised patio. We sat there that evening by the camp fire (wood and fire pit were waiting for us) reading novels and sipping Washington state wine. Unbelievably, stepping inside this lovely space brought just as much joy as the view to Puget Sound outside. There the many memories and art from Rebecca's world travels gave the entire suite a cultural richness we rarely encounter. ( I had to ask. Rebecca is an artist and interior designer.) And then there were the amenities! Well stocked kitchenette, refrigerator full of food for a satisfying continental breakfast, tall king-size bed, a beautiful fresh flower arrangement, jacuzzi , soaps and lotions from, I assume, the lavender fields nearby. All this and gracious hosts besides. It doesn't get any better than this. Thank you, Rebecca and Gale, for the wonder of it all.

This historic cabin is located right on the beach, just a few feet from the high tide mark. It's the only cabin immediately on the beach for miles either direction; all other houses are above at street level. Just 90 minutes from downtown Seattle via the Seattle / Bainbridge Island ferry.
This historic cabin is located right on the beach, just a few feet from the high tide mark. It's the only cabin immediately on the beach for miles either direction; all other houses are above at street level. The area is rich in Dungeness and Red Rock Crab (during open crab season). During the late Summer & Fall, salmon may be caught fishing right from shore. Or, just enjoy storm watching from the covered porch, with the wood burning nearby stove inside. Views of Mt Rainier, Puget Sound, the shipping lanes and North Seattle. Just 90 minutes from downtown Seattle via the Seattle / Bainbridge Island ferry. Also within 15-30 minutes of Kingston, Poulsbo and the Suquamish Clearwater Casino and the Point Hotel and Casino. This property is unique because it's the only cabin literally on the beach for miles either direction. The Puget Sound is immediately beyond the lawn covered bulkhead and covered porch. You may enjoy beach fires at night, with the Puget Sound on one side of you and the covered porch on the other. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The cabin is accessible from the street above via a private beach trail. The trail starts as a gravel path and later becomes a custom boardwalk, 80 feet long and 5 feet wide. While this provides a unique secluded experience right on the beach, the walk to the beach may be challenging for senior citizens or physically impaired individuals, or those with mobility challenges. Be sure to find the Blue Heron House on Instagram (@theblueheronhouse) and Facebook! A live web cam of the beach is available online; search for Indianola Web Cam. (Blue Heron House is on the far beach, on the far right; the lights are visible at night.)
  • A wonderful place to stay! I love being so close to the water.

    Jared2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really beautiful, modern, yet rustic, restful and private. My friends and I stayed there and recorded music all day. All the wood in the cabin made for great acoustics and the living room was a perfect place for us to spread out and get creative. Being so close to the water is just so incredible, very thought provoking and calming. The perfect place to get creative, write a novel, make an album or just spend quality, rejuvenating time by yourself or with family and friends. Joseph was also very accommodating with all the questions I asked him and was very quick to respond. Highly recommend this place!

  • The cabin was spectacular. You can’t beat the view or ambiance. I took so many beautiful pictures. It was clean and well-kept. There were so many nice touches: tea and coffee, snacks, wood and starter logs for the fireplace, extra blankets and towels. It is also one of the most dog friendly places we have found. We all loved it. We are only sad we couldn’t stay longer. If you want a beautiful place right on the water for a relaxing stay (but places to go and things to do all around), this is it!

    Alison2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great small cabin right on the water. So close to the city but still such an escape. You can see the city over the hill across the water. It helps to make a fire to heat the place up, but there are a few space heaters working. Communication was easy and getting in a breeze. There is a fairly steep walk down a well lit and wooded path to the cabin.

    Brian2019-12-27T00:00:00Z

  • Such a cute comfy space! It’s small with two rooms but a good size for 2 people. Bed was very comfy. It was pretty cold at first but the space heater provided really did the trick. They also provided lots of comfy blankets. Best part was the cute decorations and the snacks, coffee, water bottles, and wine (w/ handwritten note for my birthday). There is a door to the main house but it is locked and was always dark on the other side so there was no lock of privacy. We would definitely stay here again!

There are two sets of bunkbeds meaning the suite can sleep four and there's a desk if you have some work to do on the fly. Luggage can be stored easily in the hallway closet.
The Bloedel Bunkhouse is located on the north end of Bainbridge Island. The stunning Bloedel Reserve is just down the street and there are a handful of public beach accesses in the area. Venturing to the north you'll find the charming town of Poulsbo and easy access to the Olympic Pinninsula. Venturing south (on the Island) you'll find the Grand Forest, golf courses, quaint downtown Bainbridge Island and the new and highly acclaimed Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. And of course, Seattle is only a 35 minute ferry ride away!

  • The Bunkhouse on Bainbridge is a super comfortable, cozy, immaculate hideaway for those loving being in the peaceful, quiet woods while having amenities close by. It has four single beds, perfect for friends or a family. It is furnished with metal, wood, cozy cotton blankets and wonderful mattresses. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this.

  • This retreat is perfect for a group. We had two but you could sleep up to 5 in this beautiful spot in the woods. It was like stepping into a scene from Twilight. The hosts were quick to respond to our needs. Overall I would recommend this spot to spend a few days. PS I have never had such a great sleep experience on a bunk bed. The mattress was super comfy as were the bed linens.

  • The space is large, clean, private, and comfortable so I could read a book when I wasn't working.

  • Loved this place...nothing like walking out in the morning to my car settled beneath the trees. The peacefulness of the BnB was greatly appreciated!
