"Ocean view retreat with beach access and kayaks"

AnneRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Nice house, accurately described, great location! One thing the description doesn't mention is that there are DINOSAURS (made out of driftwood) along the beach, which was a super cool surprise. One thing to note is that the house is close to the refinery, so there are lights at night and some smells, although low tide accounts for some of that and can't be avoided.

Sandy Hook Vista

StuartRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We all have a great time at Sandy Hook. Very unique community, with fantastic views. The whole island lost power after a major wind storm on Friday night. We were without power on Saturday, but Darrell made sure we stayed comfortable by delivering firewood, instructions for generator and helping, troubleshooting and navigating our needs.

Oceanfront Black Otter Cove w/hot tub

ClaireRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay. We spent a lot of time looking at the view of the Sooke basin. The kitchen was very well equipped- there was a good selection of condiments, even mayo. The beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets and comforters. We loved the hot tub when it was dark. And just a short drive to East Sooke park :)

Beachfront Cabin, 2BR on absolutely stunning beach

JjRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We loved West Beach Resort. The little cabins are enough for two to four people. Ours was right on the water, car was parked right outside. Easy access to East Sound if you want to sit at a restaurant, or you have a full (but small) kitchen and charcoal grill on the cabins front porch. plus, they have a little store and restaurant on the property. We are definitely coming back again! The beds are firm, which wasn't bad, the cabins have a wood stove or electric heaters and the shower water is hot (if you don't try to take a shower when everyone else is as it is a shared boiler) View is spectacular! Wifi is spotty at best, so a working vacation or watching your favorite streaming program is on/off, but I was able to get full service from the living room. very cozy, very peaceful, staff is wonderful with great recommendations.

NEW Remodel I Beachfront | HotTub I DogsOK I Car

LisaRating, 5 starstoday
It was such a wonderful stay. We had a cousins reunion here and everyone was very pleased. It’s a peaceful location, and despite being near the ferry, it’s actually pretty quiet. The amenities were great - beautiful views, everything was well stocked including kitchen utensils, spices, coffee supplies, extra linens and toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. We can’t wait to experience this place again during other times of the year! Also, Kristen is an excellent host. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend booking with her!

The Beach Place | Beachfront, Pet-Friendly, Views

DavidRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed at Wanderers Choice LLC house for 4 days, and it was a fantastic experience! The location is excellent, with a direct path to the beach, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The fully fenced backyard was a great addition, providing privacy and security. While there were a few minor issues, like an empty gas tank, the host was quick to resolve them in a timely and professional manner. Their attentiveness really stood out. Overall, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some beach time. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time. Every hour we are amazed at the change in landscape, tides and wildlife. The view from the cottage surpassed our high expectations. Truly breathtaking vistas are very nearby, like Ebey''s Landing and Deception Pass. The cottage was perfect. Memories we will never forget.

Luxe Beach House, exceptional waterfront retreat

AmyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Sherri and her place were wonderful! We had such a relaxing time and hardly left the house because it was so tranquil. The space was very clean but cozy and our favorite thing to do was relax on the couches with our coffee in the morning watching the water outside. Would highly recommend and will return again. Sherri was also quick to respond to any questions and with local recommendations. We felt very at home. A lot of reviews here said the street was very noisy but we wanted to say we hardly noticed this at all! Not loud and did not bother us at all.

Tranquil Lake Front Cabin

MarcRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Spent 10 nights as a solo writing retreat (with my wife joining me on the weekend). Perfect for this even in mid-November. Super livable small home, south-facing right on the lake, two lakeside wall almost all windows, so daylight was beautiful. Thought it might be cold inside in November but the house is snug; heats up nicely and there are no drafts. Brad and Lisa are excellent hosts: quick to respond, helpful and friendly. It’s abundantly clear how much they love the place. Lots of small but nice touches. And then there’s the lake. We stayed here in warm weather before and enjoyed swimming, paddle boarding and rowing. But even in cold weather the lake is a treat. Ducks, loons, sunrise sparkles, evening sunsets. I have only good things to say.

Unique Lake Goodwin Waterfront Cabin

JedRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved staying here! The big picture windows looked out onto the water which was fantastic (and they were clean :) The entire home was very clean and beautiful. So many details had been thought about (bathrobes to use when going out to the hot tub, etc). Surround sound when watching a movie (wired in to the house speakers). Games to play, very comfortable bedding, amazing hot tub with beautiful view of the lake. Too many to list. We were very appreciative of Wayne calling us the day of our check in to help us navigate a last minute change. He was accommodating and kind. Highly recommend this place!

Lakefront Cabin with Water View & Hot Tub

KimRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a wonderful place to stay! Just lake house, matches all the descriptions and photos. So many little extras… Firewood, for the outdoor fireplaces, kayaks, paddleboard, canoes, extra towels, extra pillows, extra blankets, all the stuff you would need to cook and clean. Makes you feel right at home Lily is very responsive and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to stay in the Seattle area. The latest small, but peaceful and picturesque. Loved having my coffee out on the dock and listening to the wildlife. . This will definitely be a do over

Lake Ketchum "Get Away"

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Steve's place is even better than the pics showed! It's gorgeous, super clean, and way more updated. There's a sofa bed, a kids' sofa bed, and tons of extra blankets. No Wi-Fi, like advertised, but there are a bunch of board games, DVDs, and a pool table! It's also very toddler-friendly, with a baby gate, kids' sofa/sofa bed, high chairs, kids cutlery and non-slip mats in the shower! Plus, so much to do outside: amazing views, a big lawn, cute animals, life jackets for everyone, and the pontoon boat was a blast! Thanks so much for making our last-minute trip so awesome❤️

Artistic timberframe in the heart of the City

BobRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Nick’s place is one of our favorite AirBnB finds. It is so thoughtfully designed and utterly serene. We loved sipping coffee, reading books, watching movies on the projector/screen combo, and walking or driving the few minutes to downtown. We also played some of the guitars on the wall, which are in pretty good shape! Nick was very accommodating, allowed us to check out late so we didn’t have to spend hours waiting for a flight at the airport. We had a great week in Bellingham and this house was a big part of it. Hope to be back.

Modern Townhome with Space Needle View

JoAnneRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Great place!!! Because of a problem at other accommodations that I booked, I had to book Zihao's place at the very last minute. He responded immediately and allowed an immediate check in! The place is adorable, great furnishings, sparkling clean and has a spectacular view of the Space Needle and neighborhood. Private, no noise from neighbors, a garage--really great. Best part is how responsive Zihao was--always responded to any questions within moments. He also kindly allowed a late check out. Wonderful place and wonderful host! Keep in mind that there are lots of stairs between each floor---which we didn't mind at all--great exercise! Highly recommended!

Hood Canal Private Beach House

StacyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our group of four moms and our four teenage boys rented the Holly House for our annual three day getaway. Even before booking, Paige was exceptionally communicative and helped to clarify questions that I had about bedroom layout. The house itself is *absolutely* stunning and the location on Hood Canal with a gorgeous view of the beloved Olympic Mountains, made this annual trip all the more special. Paige was incredibly responsive on the occasions where questions came up and was a delight to interact with. As a group who loves the cook, the big open kitchen looking out onto the water was so perfect. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. The upstairs bunk “great room” was like a palace for our boys and they indicated that this was their favorite place we’ve stayed locally (we all live in Kitsap). Definitely hope to return again soon!

Your guide to San Juan Islands

All About San Juan Islands

Tucked between Washington State’s northwestern coast and Canada’s Vancouver Island lies the San Juan Islands — a breathtaking archipelago comprising more than 170 scenic enclaves, some visible only during low tide. The three largest islands, San Juan Island, Orcas Island, and Lopez Island, are geographically unique and offer distinct ways to experience the island chain. San Juan Island is home to two architectural gems — the Lime Kiln Lighthouse, poised atop a rocky bluff on the west side, and Cattle Point Lighthouse, which sits perched atop a windswept precipice at the island’s southern tip.

Friday Harbor, San Juan Islands’ vibrant town and marina, is buzzing with waterfront restaurants that take advantage of fresh seafood, island-grown produce, and local wines. Orcas Island is full of hiking trails that pass through rocky hills and dense, cliffside rainforests with spectacular views at every turn. For some of the best sandy beaches, you’ll want to check out Lopez Island, home to Shark Reef Sanctuary and Iceberg Point. And beyond this island’s rugged coastline, the deep blue waters of the Salish Sea are teeming with diverse marine life, including seals, sea lions, otters, and its most notable resident, the orca whale.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in San Juan Islands

The spring and summer months boast idyllic conditions for outdoor recreation. Vibrant wildflowers, including fawn lilies, blue camas, and Indian paintbrush, embellish the mountain tops during the spring. From July through August, brilliant shades of purple blanket a private 25-acre lavender farm as the flowers reach peak bloom. Though whales can be spotted year-round, mid-June through early September is the peak season for spying orcas, humpbacks, and minke whales. Outdoor recreation is still possible during the winter months, though it may be best to pack extra layers to stay warm. The colder months are also an excellent time to explore museums, including The San Juan Islands Museum of Art, San Juan Historical Museum, and The Whale Museum, one of the country’s first museums dedicated to a living wild species.

Top things to do in San Juan Islands

Turtleback Mountain Preserve

Visible throughout the San Juan Archipelago, Turtle Mountain offers scenic panoramas in every direction. The north and south trailheads connect via an eight-mile trail network that winds over rugged ridges, through wildflower-filled meadows, verdant wetlands, and lush temperate rainforest. This trail network links to the Turtlehead Trail, which takes you to a soaring bluff with sweeping views of Vancouver Island, the Olympic Mountains, and beyond. On clear days, you may even be able to spot the summit of Mount Rainier in the distance.

Lime Kiln Point State Park

Also known as Whale Watch Park, Lime Kiln Point State Park is a premier spot for checking out the planet’s largest mammals. Perched atop a rocky cliff, against the backdrop of deep blue waters, is the Lime Kiln Point Lighthouse, which still assists ships navigating the Haro Strait. The park offers almost two miles of hiking trails, tide pools, and historic lime kilns dating back to the 19th century.

San Juan Islands Sculpture Park

Located on the north end of San Juan Island, at the entrance to Roche Harbor, you’ll find Sculpture Park, a lush 20-acre park that’s home to more than 150 art sculptures bearing unique and striking designs from global sculptors. The park features various trails twisting through the gardens, Frog Pond, and Westcott Bay.
