Places to stay in Elk Park
Close to skiing/hiking/horseback! Apartment style living that is separate from the main part of the house. Complete with queen bed/bedroom, full bathroom, bathtub, shower, full kitchen, free wireless internet, free HD DirecTV. Fully stocked kitchen.
Full kitchen/laundry/queen size bed/soaking tub/custom glass shower/large sofa/HDTV/wireless internet. The space was recently updated and everything is new! This is your home away from home. Comfortably sleeps 3-4. The sofa is big enough for two people. Complimentary coffee is provided each morning for each guest (self-serve Keurig machine). You will also have some breakfast items already in the fridge when you arrive. There is a Sonos speaker in the bedroom that is accessible only via an app for both Android or iPhone. You can listen to music while winding down your evening. Or, if you're feeling a little playful, there is also an Xbox 360 in the living room with a few games. This space is adjacent to a separate living area/apartment all under one roof. You will have your own controls for heating and air, however. There is a bit of hiking to do behind our house to explore a little nature. There is also a river located about a mile from us if you'd like to bring your fishing gear. There's even a few perfect spots to bring a tent and set up a camp fire above or around the apartment. Also, enjoy the recently built fire pit! Although we are located in a fairly remote area, you will be nearly equidistant from most of the reasons people come to Western NC! We are close to Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Resort (40 minutes to either one, although only around 25 miles in distance). It's only a short 25-30 minute drive to Grandfather Mountain and an even shorter drive to beautiful Linville Falls (plenty of hiking/easy walking). You could also hang out in charming Spruce Pine, North Carolina which is only 15 minutes away or head over to the most interesting city in the world; that is, Asheville, NC which is only around an hour away. You can also stick around and enjoy a drink on the deck, pitch a tent and camp, do some exploring by hiking, or fish! Plenty of parking available on-site (grassy area). Airport pickup and drop off from nearby airport up to 3 hours away for a fee. This is a duplex arrangement. Although you will have full access to the apartment, the other side of the house is inhabited as well. There are only walls so keep in mind there may be some noise, but nothing that should disturb your stay. If visiting during the Winter months (anytime November thru late March) please remember to be cautious of snow/ice with preferably a 4WD vehicle. The road that leads up to the apartment is paved but there is a slight grade near the top. You'll also want appropriate clothing if you plan on getting out.
We are isolated from nearly everything with only a few sparsely located neighbors.
  • This Airbnb is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. I was shocked with how well everything has been kept considering it stays pretty booked. The amenities are all new and the decor is very stylish. The home was very inviting and the perfect size for a couple. On top of being a great space to hang around, the house is just a short drive to natural attractions. The highlight for my husband and I would probably be Roxy, the dog. She was the cutest greeter when we first arrived and hung out with us during our bonfire. She was the perfect vacation dog, friendly but didn't cling to you.

  • Lovely place for a weekend trip. Nice and secluded with great views and great amenities. Everything you can think of is already done for you and all you need to do is show up! Would absolutely come back for a longer stay.

  • Fabulous little getaway for some much needed rest and relaxation. Roxy was our greeter upon arrival was most gracious and adorable. The home was so cozy and comfortable. All the extra added amenities was great and appreciated. Loved the bathtub!!! Seeing the deer wander through was an added extra bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

  • You absolutely want to spend a quality time away from the city at this place. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere and takes time to get to the house but once you do there is no other you’d rather be. The price, the quality, the modern design, the amenities. Ah! I just can’t say HOW much we loooooved it! We wish we stayed two nights or more but we only got one this time. Both of us travel and both agreed that this place is the best Airbnb we ever had. We definitely will be back! Such a retreat! Such a great hospitality! Such a great idea! And personally we would like to thank Ricky for adding his love and care that is so rare to find nowadays! 100% well done!!!

  • This is an awesome place. Very cozy winter getaway! The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms super clean! View the parking video before you go... that would have been helpful for myself for sure. Getting there also in the daylight would have been a plus. The fire pit, hot tub, and fireplace were very nice pluses.

    Dannielle2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this cabin. It had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The fireplace was very warm, the beds comfortable, and hot water showers were very enjoyable. Beautiful cabin inside and out. The renters next door were very friendly as well. Great communication with the host. Banner Elk Cafe food was excellent and Valle de Bravo had delicious fajitas and cheese dip! We skied at Sugar and Beech Mountain, about a 15 min drive to all these except Beech was a little further drive.

    Stacy2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality and beautiful cabin. In the winter months though make sure to bring a vehicle that is AWD or has 4x4, in case of snow and ice. If not, make sure to shovel the snow and lay salt before leaving. I would also recommend parking your vehicles at the lowest driveway. my family had a blast though and the commute to Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk are reasonable!

    Adam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Close to sugar mountain and Hawks nest. Clean home with nice touches. Plenty of kitchen gear (crockpot, the whole nine) and spices!! (So nice!) towels and soap left on bed for arrival was a nice touch. Great place, we will be back!

Rustic but spacious cabin on eight acres of land, with creek and pond in the back.
Eight Acres is nestled on Sugar Mountain, just outside Newland, North Carolina. For a quiet getaway where you can relax in rustic comfort, wander among the old apple trees and explore nature's bounty, or drive minutes to explore antique stores, the majestic Grandfather Mountain or Linville Gorge, Eight Acres is a convenient respite from our busy lives. The cabin stands on the plot of Martin Banner's homestead, the original settler of Sugar Mountain. The current structure was built in 1989 out of pine and chestnut. Bottom floor has bedroom with two twin beds, bathroom with shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen, dining and living areas. Pull-out couch in living room can sleep another two people. Upstairs is bedroom with queen-size bed, full bath. Deck out back spans the entire length of the house. Cabin is on the "quiet" side of Sugar Mountain. On the other side is the ski resort, Banner Elk, and other cute towns worth discovering.
This is a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of society. Quiet, with just the bubbling trickle of water coming down the mountain. Pond in the back attracts frogs, dragonflies, and other native wildlife. There's a couple of small farms up the road, and a friendly chocolate lab that may wander by to say hi.
  • You won’t regret staying here! We left feeling so much peace.

    Emily2019-11-16T00:00:00Z

  • Mark and Mary's place was beautiful. The surrounding area was nice and quiet and the cabin itself was very cozy and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

    Katie2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location once you get there, the GPS took us to the wrong location at first because there are two roads with the same name. It was a very peaceful place and I enjoyed my stay. The fireplace was awesome, and it was nice to sit on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee while enjoying the sounds of birds and taking in the fresh mountain air.

Eunice left a note and little bunny that my boys loved (such a thoughtful touch!). We used the grill to cook out on after skiing all day. The fenced yard was great for our dog. Bed were comfortable, shower was hot, and we had every amenity needed (coffee pot, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc). Thank you so much Eunice!

It is a ten minute drive to Elk River Falls, and while your there check out Times Square Restaurant up the road. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in a long time. Hope2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my very first stay in an Airbnb and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I don't really like hotels, and we needed a place for 4 to stay for the weekend so I started looking at my options. While Edwina's place may not have been the closest to where we wanted to be, the charm kept drawing me back in. I wasn't disappointed. This is a charming little house on a not so busy street. It's QUIET here aside from the traffic going to and from the waterfall at the end of the street. If you stay here, you really should check out the waterfall, especially if it's warm weather and you want to go for a swim! It's a nice couple mile drive to the end of the road. You'll pass some old houses and barns and a Christmas tree farm. When you get to the end of the road you park your car and it's probably about a .2 mile hike down to the swimming hole. It's a really pretty sight and I wish we'd have thought to bring bathing suits! Back on the main road there are a couple of antique stores full of hidden treasures. There is also a hardware store that is 4th generation owned and operated. Everyone in this little strip is friendly. A little further up the street is a local produce market. We wanted to check this out, but unfortunately they had just closed when we arrived. Luckily there was an Ingles grocery store right down the road. We prepared most of our meals at the house so unfortunately didn't get to check out any of the local restaurants on the list. They all looked great though! We were in town to check out the Land of Oz. That had been on my destination list for many years. I think it's something anyone who likes the wizard of Oz should go to at least once. Back at the house we all enjoyed sitting on the front porch. My son loved the old couch. He also enjoyed the old rotary telephone in the house. That's just not something you see all the time anymore. I spent more hours on that front porch relaxing than I have since who knows when. There are several cats in the area that I would see go by, but they never came to the house or anywhere near me. Kind of a shame as it would have been nice to rock on that front porch petting a cat! This old House didn't have central AC, but that wasn't needed. We just opened the windows and it stayed pretty cool. In fact, late at night it got pretty cold. We didn't have any cell phone reception with our carrier (T-Mobile) which was okay, except it's been so long since I was somewhere without reception that I just wasn't used to it. There were places around town that I had it, and sometimes out in the front yard. So just be prepared to disconnect here. We absolutely loved our stay here and loved this little house and yard. I wish we would have had time to roast some marshmallows! I hope we can come back again and stay a bit longer next time!

Tucked into the edge of Pisgah National Forest, our hostel in the foothills of Yellow Mountain overlooks Toe River. It is centrally located to many activities such as hiking or skiing, craft beers, rafting, fishing (the Toe River is stocked), wineries or village shopping. With no neighboring yards it is quiet except for the river and the occasional cars on the road. We offer many opportunities to disconnect and relax.
Constructed in 1938, and freshly renovated and updated. It was originally the home of the longest sitting principal of Cranberry High School which is now registered as a historic structure. The river is less than thirty steps away, and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit is also available. The house sits at the bottom of elevation with access to the backcountry. Our focus is on the needs of our outdoors community whatever the chosen sport or skill level. We operate primarily as a hostel with shuttles and guide services.
We are minutes away from Linville Gorge, often called "The Grand Canyon of the East," and Grandfather Mountain Biosphere reserve. Nearby towns offer many unique experiences.

2000 36ft Montana with heat, air and full amenities except laundry. Sleeps 4 with sofa bed. Has two TV's; one in the bedroom with up to 11 channels of local broadcast TV, and one in the living room with over 150 channels of subscription TV. WIFI with excellent signal strength "no password". Kitchenware, Soap, shampoo and towels provided. Charcoal grill and portable fire pit. There are extra guest fees if over two adults no charge for children. NO FISHING! in the pond.
One of two fifth wheel RV rentals. The other one is listed on Airbnb as a 37' Escaper. Set up on part of a 20 acre parcel in the Blue Ridge Mountain's on the back side of the Beech Mt Resort in a secluded quiet and safe community with less than a dozen homes in a one mile radius. Away from light and sound pollution. Except for an occasional passing vehicle "and often none at all from 10pm to 6am" all you will hear is the sound of the creek, cricket's and frogs at the nearby fish pond and only the light from the moon and star's in the clear mountain sky and fire flies. This is the mountains with typical crooked mountain roads, cell phone reception is good for Verizon, Carolina West, Sprint & maybe some others, but not for AT&T, T Mobil & maybe others. It is my home place with a tobacco barn and a big cattle/tobacco barn where I grew up and my parent's made their living farming. You will be free to explore and hike any part of the property except the house and out building's. The pond's are full of Trout and Blue Gill fish that are like pet's and will follow you around the edge waiting for a hand full of fish food, and they love pieces of bread. You can feed the fish "Sorry no fishing". There are two full hook-up RV sites and camp sites on the property listed on hipcamp, one RV site is just past the Montana and the other is behind the Escaper, camp sites are on another part of the property. If you hate crooked roads mountain roads and expect the Hilton with convenient stores & wall Marts just around the corner on Florida type roads and perfect cell signal by all carriers; "DON'T BOOK".
Two neighbors and The Beech Mt Baptist Church are within a quarter of a mile, also my brother lives a quarter of a mile past my house and uses the private driveway by my house. My cousin also uses my driveway to access his property. Entrance to the RV's is from the main road. It is one mile to the TN state line with only two houses and no residents and another half mile to the Compression Fall's on Elk River at Pisgah National Forest, which is also a great place to hike or ride a mountain bike with a road that is closed to motorized vehicles and winds around the mountain gorge above the Elk River for several mile's. If you continue about nine miles on this road you will come to another fall's called "Elk River Fall's" 60ft high. There is also some good video's on YouTube. To drive to the Elk River Fall's it is about 15 miles in the opposite direction through Elk Park NC.
  • Highly Recommend Curtis's RV'S ! If you want to get away from the world for a bit, one of his spots is the best places to stay! Very Private, beautiful scenery on top of the highest mtns! Our family has stayed twice and we hope to go back again soon! Big thanks to Curtis for having us, he's a very kind and sweet man!

  • This was my second stay with Curtis and not my last. It is a cozy spot close to beech mountain with easy access for a great value. Highly recommended!

  • Me, my wife and our dog had an amazing time here. It was snowing when we got there. The RV is right next to the river and a minute away from the ponds where you can feed the fish. It's a very peaceful place to live, away from all the hustle and bustle in the city. We only stayed one day and we regretted staying for such a short amount of time. We came for the ski and the ski resort is literally like 15 mins away. Curtis made sure that we felt at home and even helped us light a bon fire and so many other things. The next morning we were heading out to the mountain and Curtis made sure the roads were safe for us to travel by actually going out in the roads himself. I have never experienced such an outstanding service from any hosts ever before. I really appreciate Curtis for going out of his way to make sure our stay was awesome. Apart for having a great time at the mountains, we will always remember this place because of Curtis as well. It takes a good heart to do what he did. This is definitely not gonna be our last visit and when we do visit next time, its gonna be his place for more days. We have already recommended his place to a couple of our friends :). Thank you for a wonderful experience. God bless his heart.

  • I went to work on a writing deadline and to clear my head. Best choice! Curtis is wonderful and the silence was just what the doctor ordered. It was a cold few days and Curtis went out of his way to make sure I was cozy and warm. He came early to clear snow off the porch and from the RV to my car. What a gentleman!

Memory's Guest House is a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath home with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with a craft/puzzle area, a large storage room (great for storing sports equipment), 2 covered porches and one sun porch, and an outdoor "smores" area. It is easily accessible to mountain activities.(No getting lost on dark, curvy, back roads)
Situated on Hwy 194 between Banner Elk and Elk Valley, NC this comfortable home has easy access to a multitude of Mountain activities. Banner Elk is just over a mile up the road and has several restaurants, 2 grocery stores, convenience stores, local shopping and is the home to Lees McRae College. There are also seasonal activities close by like whitewater rafting, lots of hiking trails, trout fishing and zip lining. For Winter sports enthusiasts, Memory's Guest House is equidistant to two of the best ski resorts in the Southeast - Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. (As a matter of fact, this vacation home is nestled in the valley below Beech Mountain.) In the opposite direction lies the cute little town of Elk Park, NC - home to Elk River Falls and some neat little antique shoppes. Just a bit farther down the road is the breathtakingly beautiful Roan Mountain State Park in Tennessee. AND....we're just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from several other iconic Blue Ridge Mountain towns like Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and the big "metropolis" of Boone, NC (Home to Appalachian State University). Oh ! And you have to take a drive on the acclaimed Blue Ridge Parkway. Yes! Memory's Guest House is a great place to base your High Country excursions from. (Especially since it's so easy to find....Just a mile and a half or so from Banner Elks' only traffic light on Hwy 194. No "trailhopping" on back mountain roads required). This mountain family home has a master bedroom (queen bed) with it's own bathroom (shower only), a second bedroom (full bed) and a kids room (Full and twin bunkbeds) that share a full bathroom (shower/tub combo) which is located in the hallway. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area just waiting to accommodate those sit-down family dinners that you never have time for at home. And the living room has a craft/game/jigsaw puzzle space to help relax those travel weary muscles. There are two covered porches that tempt you to enjoy outdoor meals (no rain worries here). And there is a "smores" area off of the back porch. There is convenient parking for two regular sized vehicles with easy ground-level access. (There are three small steps into the home.) You enter the home through a utility room that allows for (non-motorized) sporting item storage. In the "Garden Season", we've prepared a small vegetable garden for you to glean from and there are apples and grapes to pick when they're ripe as well. We've done all that we can to prepare a sweet and "memory"-able place for you and your loved ones to enjoy and relax in. We hope to see you soon!

  • The pictures don't give the surroundings justice. it is between the mountains down a steep drive way and there is a sign at the top stating "AIRBNB". It was perfect for the price!

  • The place was nicer than expected. Allen was a great host and knew lots about the area. It was perfect and cozy for our three day trip and didn’t feel too small.

  • Great getaway! Close enough to the ski resort but far enough away to unplug. Would definitely stay again in the future!

    LeAnn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Allen’s place what pretty much what I expected. The pictures are accurate. It was a simple place to stay that was a good value for the price. It is old but has everything you need. The shower was hot and the bed was really comfortable. We brought our own blankets and sheets which was helpful because it got very cold at night. The location is great - about 20 minutes from Sugar Mountain skiing. The map is not accurate so it can be a bit difficult to find. Allen did have a helpful sign which was great once we were on the right road. If you are looking for a place to cook and be protected from the elements this is sufficient.

1994 37ft Eacaper with heat, air and full amenities except laundry. Sleeps 4 with sofa bed. Has two TV's; one in the bedroom with up to 19 channels of local broadcast TV, and one in the living room with over 150 channels of subscription TV. WIFI is open with excellent signal strength. Kitchenware, Soap, shampoo and towels provided. Charcoal grill and portable fire pit. Extra guest fees for over two adults- no charge for up to two children under age 12. NO FISHING!
Two neighbors and The Beech Mt Baptist Church are within a quarter of a mile, also my brother lives a quarter of a mile past my house and uses the private driveway by my house. If you continue about nine miles on this road you will come to another fall's called "Elk River Fall's" 65ft high.

    Chappell2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this location. Central location for lots of great hiking. Curtis gave me a tip on an old logging road that turned into a great adventure. Camper was the perfect size, I want a house like it!

    Lydia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Curtis's place was spectacular! Curtis was quick to respond to any of our questions and provided excellent suggestions for local hikes and suggestions. His camper is located in the perfect spot - close enough to Boone for a night in the town, and far enough away to feel remote and a true getaway.

    Amanda2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a place out of the way which is great for atmosphere and privacy. It's peaceful and beautiful has a creek ponds with fish hiking to waterfalls near by and Curtis is a great host

He cares about his visitors and his property is the best place to escape the troubles of the world! Tent site or camper very clean and kept up! Our camper was warm, clean and had everything we needed!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • David's entire operation at the Station 19e is absolutely phenomenal. He was quick to respond and offers everything you could want as a hiker. The hostel was clean and comfy cozy, the bar/restaurant has an amazing selection of craft beer and great food, live music (at least when I was there on a Friday), and a shuttle service to trailheads which is so clutch for doing any point to point/section hikes. I cannot say enough about how wonderful of a place and stay this was. I highly recommend it to anyone!

    Kayce2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • All of the through-hiker-hostel vibes your little heart could wish for—and a tap list from all over the Southeast downstairs. Truly an idyllic respite from the winter outside.

  • We had a large group come through here and it was awesome! David went so far as to book a band for us that turned out to be incredible. Such an awesome place with an even better atmosphere.

    Crista2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. There is a pub downstairs with a good selection of craft beers. Dave is a great host, very friendly guy and recommends good beer. Met some really nice people out there and will definitely be back.

    Jaison2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place is located on the state line of Tennessee and North Carolina. It’s easy to find and easy to feel welcome there. It’s the perfect place for the outdoorsmen to spend the night or a few days. The Hostel has all the amenities of a house with a large family. Livingroom, M&W Restrooms, Kitchen, Semi-private rooms and washer & dryer. It’s a rustic, campish environment, so don’t expect it to be a Holiday Inn. But the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, the silverware was washed and coffee was great in the morning! I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

If you are looking for a cute cabin full of rustic charm, then you found it at Nita's Rustic Cabin! Located in a rural mountain area close to Plumtree, NC, and the Yellow Mtn AT trail. Trout fishing on property. Best suited for couples and older children due to some of the the rustic features of this home not being safe for small children. Small pets under 30lbs okay. 30 mins from Grandfather Mtn. Guests must provide own linens, and be comfortable navigating a dirt drive.
The stairs to the loft bedroom are pull-down, so you must be comfortable with navigating them. There is a double size, pull-out sofa in the living area. AC is not available, but the cabin sits in a very shaded, cool area with fans throughout.
Although the cabin itself cannot be seen by surrounding homes, and vice versa - it is within walking distance to other homes. It is very private.
  • If you like a quaint, step back in time, in a lovely location, then this cabin is for you. Nice to be off the grid!

    Janet2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Nita's Rustic cabin! Nita is a great host and communicates accurately what she offers. It is a good value. Be advised that it is not for everyone - the cabin is aptly named rustic. It is in a very beautiful area of NC - and it is very rural. Finding it at night can be a challenge - but it is well marked with signage.

    Beth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Like others, we had a hard time finding the entrance in the dark. You pass through Nita's property to get to the cabin, and we were unable to get our Prius up the final hill. Fortunately, Nita let us park at the base of the hill. The cabin itself was charming, cozy, and perfect for two of us and our dog. We particularly enjoyed the fire area and the porch (which stays quite dry even during heavy rain).

    Sid2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anita’s cabin is definitely in the rustic category, but if you’re looking for a place to unplug that’s not too far from fantastic hiking and Boone then this is the perfect spot for you. We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled our Saturday trip to Asheville so that we could just hang around the cabin with a fire.

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic but beautiful. Loved it. Exactly as described. Daughter loved playing Pooh sticks on the river bridge.

  • We enjoyed our stay!

    Joey2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had the most amazing getaway! We were totally of the grid because our phones (at&t) didn’t have any service the whole time we were there and there is no WiFi. We loved it thought it helped us unwind and not have to worry about anything else! We did pass the drive way once but then we saw the sign out front. The cabin itself is exactly what it is in the pictures. At night we were either gathered around the fire or watching tv. Overall it was a very relaxing stay!

    Philip2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect. It was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, and offered a stay which was outpaced only by the company of Nita herself. She took time out of her day to tell me about local places and attractions, gave me advice on where to hike and attain the best views, and was simply a charming hostess. My vacation was greatly improved by her company and kindness. Two thumbs up for Nita.

  • The location couldn't have been better-close to town and groceries, no dangerously steep incline to get there, but looks and feels like you're secluded. The decor was adorable-bears and country themed. The decor really helped make it special. They included little extras.

    Bradley2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I booked this beautiful cabin for a weekend getaway with his family as the 'big' Christmas gift to each other this year. It was actually our second time as a couple staying here, so we were so thrilled when we saw it was available for the dates we decided on with his family. Similar to the first time, it was a fantastic experience all around! The house was big enough to accommodate the 5 of us, and they allowed my in-laws' dog to be there for a small fee. We even go lucky enough to wake up to snow on the first full day of our stay! The hot tub is for sure the highlight of the cabin, due to its privacy combined with its easy accessibility. What a lovely time we had enjoying watching the snow falling from under cover of the roof on the porch! In addition to spending lots of quality time warm in the cabin, we also enjoyed an outing to Sugar Mountain one day, and dinner in Banner Elk the next night - both were very close and a super easy drive even in the snow conditions. Without a doubt, we would recommend this place to anybody. Matt and Sara have thought of everything to complete the mountain getaway experience, and the price is more than fair. Much Love! • such a beautiful Cabin. was our first time going to Nort Carolina and our expectations were not even compared to how beautiful that cabin is. Each touch is unique in the decoration. the place very quiet, no loud neighbors or annoying people. My furry babies had an amazing vacation. They didn't stop running and exploring the forest. This cabin simply has everything a family needs. The jacuzzi outside gives a glamorous touch. definitely a place to rest and recharge batteries. We will definitely return. 100% recommended

  • We have stayed in several Airbnbs and Creek Side Blessings was the cutest, most well-kept, and comfortable stay we have experienced so far. The creek is literally right outside the super comfortable bedroom and was just magical to listen to while in the hot tub. The hosts provided a lot of little touches that made our stay extra special like chocolates on the pillows, over-sized towels for the hot tub, snacks, and nice toiletries. The beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect for our ski trip (right between Ski Beech and Ski Sugar). We had the best time and will definitely stay again!

  • Perfect destination for Skiers looking to unwind next to the fire or in the hot tub after a day on the slopes. Great location on a beautiful piece of property. Everything you could want for a cabin getaway!

  • Location and Value of the Creekside Cabin were Exceptional!!! The property was super clean with so many amazing amenities, hot tub, private balcony overlooking the creek, and less than 10 min from the slopes. Perfect for a romantic get away. We will be booking next year with Matt and Sara again!

  • Wonderful Cabin! You wont regret staying here. You will find everything you will need including dryer and washer and all kitchen necessities. They thought of proving it all. There will be a couple of things you will be asked to clean up before checking out. But it was worth the stay.

  • Matt and Sara’s properties are always spectacular! The peacefulness of the mountains with a clean amazing place to come home to after a long day on the ski hill or a mountain hike. Will continue to keep coming back!

A short drive to skiing, hiking trails, wineries, etc. and the the cabin was so comfortable. Very usable kitchen, nice washer and drier, lots of closet space. We especially enjoyed the gas fireplace, the hot tub, and the creek behind the cabin. Definitely a place we would rent again. Thanks Matt and Sara for being such great hosts!

  • The Mountaineer Cabin was absolutely perfect for us! The hot tub was the perfect place for us to unwind after a cold day of skiing, and the location is perfect if you're wanting to visit Sugar and/or Beech Mountains. Also, it features a full kitchen and a gas fireplace so we were able to cook a little while keeping warm & cozy. The place was extremely clean upon arrival and we had a seamless checkin. We loved every minute of our stay.

    Jasmine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super clean and warm! We loved everything!!! We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to be close to Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain and Boone! The cabin was nestled on a cozy quiet lot and had plenty of room to play fetch for our dog on in the side yard! What a gem! We will be back next year!

  • Such an awesome experience with great hosts. They went the extra yard and decorated the Cabin with a Christmas tree and lights on a outside tree. Our first AirBNB experience and all the amenities we needed were there, even a Keurig for our convenience, for our stay. Instructions were precise for everything, Lights, Fans, TV’s, Gas fireplace, etc. Recommendations for Dining were superb. Thank you Matt and Sara, we will be back.

  • Awesome place! Super convenient for wanting to snowboard/ski Sugar and Beech Mountain!

  • My wife and I stayed here for a few nights for a quick weekend getaway from Florida. It was an absolutely amazing trip. Sara and Matt did a great job responding quickly to our questions. They also gave great notes/instructions for how to find the cabin and how to use the appliances (hot tub, thermostat, keypad lock and such). The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable and had a nice homey feel. I highly recommend checking out Grandfather Mountain if you stay here. It was gorgeous and had quite a few different trails. We also really enjoyed Tate-Evans Park nearby.

A Hiker's Dream. Craft Beer Pub downstairs and 27 bed hostel upstairs. Don't worry you cannot hear the noise upstairs. Lot's to do in the area and always interesting people to meet off the Appalachian Trail.
  • David is a great host and the hostel was well stocked, clean, and full of fun people.

  • I will highly recommend this hostel. The owner is very nice. There is a bar under the bedroom and the people there are very friendly. You can play pool in the bar and have beers. It's really a good experience living there.

  • What a difference a day makes: last time I was here it was the height of hiking season and I arrived unprepared and tired. I’m old and I had to stay on a top bunk: my bad that I didn’t realize what was entailed. THIS time it was AWESOMe! The vibe is great, the ppl are great and the host is beyond great ... because of his suggestion to go up to the gap, I had a surprise treat for the day. It really is run well and has all the amenities one can desire for a hiking hostel. I highly recommend it:) I will always stay here and tell my best friends to as well 5 Stars!

  • We had an amazing weekend staying here!!! It was extremely convenient! Only took us about 8 min to get to the bottom of sugar mountain by car, and the ski lift was also super close if you want to ski down! Overall, perfect for two of us!

  • Great place just wish I could have stayed a little longer. Very very cozy and great views of mountains and slopes. Thanks so much, Charles

    Charles2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for a quick snowboard trip to sugar. You are literally out a door, around the corner of the building and MAYBE a football field walk to Oma’s meadow summit. Don’t bother driving down the mountain to get your lift ticket, just go down the mountain and get it before you jump back on the lift. The place is on the first floor, clean and has everything you need to cook your own meals. 10/10 will use again. As a foot note, if you’re renting gear extreme is a epic shop. In fact, high marks for the locals who couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. Cheers.

Creekside cottage is ideally located between two creeks and just minutes from Roan Mountain State Park and 30 minutes from ski slopes.
Built in the 1940s, this cozy home is small but has all you need for the perfect getaway. The house is only minutes from the state park, rhododenderan gardens, hiking, fishing and more. In fact you can fish for trout in the creek behind the house. It's a short drive to Boone NC, ski slopes, and Bristol raceway.
The house is in the mountains where the weather is mild even during summer months. With the windows open you can hear the sounds of nature and tranquil running water.
  • Highly recommend!! This cottage is in a beautiful mountain “holler” and exceeded our expectations. It felt remote, yet only 10 minutes to town and easy to find. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of firewood and kindling for the charming wood burning stove. It was perfect for a cozy romantic trip and I just wish we could have stayed longer!

    Emily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was small, cozy, and equipped with everything you could need during your stay! It was about 45 minutes to an hour away from a ton of great attractions and towns and there were a bunch of great hikes right down the road. My only small complaint was that the house always seemed to be cold except for the small bedroom that had the heater in it! Other than that we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area!

    Madi2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was so perfect! Even though it was freezing cold out, we loved walking around the creek and looking at animal tracks. We grilled out every night on the charcoal grill and sat around a bonfire. The wood stove kept it nice and warm inside. Like other reviews say, the local pizza place was good. The area has a ton of great hiking and wineries/breweries so it made for the perfect location for our getaway with friends.

    Amber2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this cabin, felt so comfortable here, had everything we needed plus extra..... our host was very responsive. Cabin was spotless. We went fishing in the backyard! Would highly recommend this place and host!!

    Allan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is adorable! The area is so quaint and quiet. The only sound is the stream running behind the house. So peaceful! It was so clean and comfy! It snowed out last night there. We warmed up around the fireplace as the snow fell and the stream rushed by out back! An absolute peace that has been long overdue! We will be back when we return to that area!

Cozy, clean condo with a spectacular view!
This condo is a neat, clean place. But the best attribute is the view. It is close to shopping, Grandfather mountain and the ski slopes of Sugar Mountain!
My condo is located at the top the the Sugar Mountain community. Close to Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain and plenty of hiking and outdoor activities.
  • Great place with an amazing view! Will definitely return for another trip with my family in the future.

  • Our trip to Mike's place was wonderful! We were pleasantly surprised when we found out we were so close to Sugar Mountain skiing and decided to go while we were there, it was just a short drive down the mountain! The views were amazing and the place was very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Western NC but you cannot find a better deal for skiing on Sugar Mountain! We would definitely love to come back.

  • Michael’s place was great. Amazing views and close to sugar mountain ski resort. The condo had everything we needed. Michael was very attentive and gave us some great local tips. The best part was the view, seriously — you can’t beat it. Def recommend this place!

  • Wonderful location on the more private side of Sugar Mountain but still within the “Village” (shuttle will pick you up if you want). Stunning views of the area from the back deck. Fully stocked kitchen and huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Loved the easy access to Sugar Mountain Ski Lodge, Banner Elk, Boone, Seven Devils, etc. Mike was so fast to reply to messages in the AirBnB app and even checked in to see if we needed anything mid-way through our stay. We will definitely be back!

    Jessica2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views! Michael is great host. Would definitely stay here again.

  • One of the best places I've stayed at.

  • First time Airbnb and I hope they are all like Mike’s place. Great location, awesome views, huge bathtub and sparkling clean. This place was even better than I thought it would be. Absolutely loved staying here and will recommend to all of our friends.

Charming 80 yr old mountain cottage on private 10 acre secluded mountain side, small farm property. Perfect getaway for a couple or small family. Affordable and quiet wooded location, and the perfect getaway from all the crowds. The quietness is the best feature! Firepit in the back yard. 15-30 minutes from the areas biggest attractions. Please keep expectations in line with the age of the cottage. *Note: Winter months-access road and driveway may require 4wd.*
This home is 80 years old, and has many features of an older home, such as creaky wood floors, smaller spaces, and a charm galore! The furnishings are new. The best thing here is the peace and quiet. Perfect nature getaway with plenty of privacy. Although there is no AC, the home is mostly shaded and has ceiling fans and box fans throughout, and with average summer temps of 75 degrees, it isn't missed!
Although the cottage seems somewhat removed from the mainstream of things, it is only a 10 minute drive into the town of Newland. We do recommend that you purchase any groceries/necessities before you arrive. This location is for folks who want to be out of the mainstream of things - you will be OUT in the country. It is "off the beaten path" - although you can get to many of the areas biggest attractions in 15-30 minutes.
  • The cottage is much bigger than it seems in the pictures! It is stocked with absolutely everything you could need for cooking, bathing, etc. Most importantly (to me, anyway), it is on very quiet, secluded property. My girls loved exploring the woods and my husband and I had a great time watching the wildlife from the porch. It really doesn't get more peaceful than this!

  • Robin really took care of us. The place was exactly as expected and clean upon arrival! Great place to stay for a weekend away. We went skiing close by and had a fantastic time. Be warned you might need 4-wheel drive in the winter. Robin and her husband helped us tremendously through this obstacle. I cannot thank her and her husband enough. Come stay here! You won’t regret it.

  • Nice private cabin in the woods. Very private, and more spacious that it seems in the photos. We found that the space heaters were plenty to keep us nice and warm, despite the chilly weather. Also, the location really couldn't be more perfect. The coffee shop being only 7 minutes away, 20 minutes to Sugar Mountain ski resort, 25 mins to the turnoff for Table Rock, 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Linville Falls. We would stay here again!

    Ryan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the cabin is a lot bigger than it seems in pictures. The living room, especially, is very spacious with 3 couches. The TV is very small, but it had tons of channels and we definitely watched it although we weren't really there to watch TV anyway :) As mentioned in the listing, there is almost no cell reception, so make sure you have your directions and get to know your way around the area. The location is great - there is only one house that you can see and it's up a long driveway/hill. We didn't have to worry about being too noisy or disturbing anyone. The yard is very spacious as well - perfect for playing in the snow like we did! The kitchen is huge and has a fair amount of pots and pans for cooking. There's also a washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets available. One thing we were worried about was the lack of central heat but it was no problem at all!! It was completely cozy and warm once we turned on the space heaters - we actually had to turn them down or off at times. Robin is a great host. She is quick to respond to messages and is very courteous and thoughtful of her guests. She let us know to get our groceries ahead of time (because there isn't a grocery store super close to the cabin) and she offered us a late check-out since it had snowed and the driveway was icy. Overall, great stay!

  • We love Robin's houses.

    Paula2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is an awesome host and extremely helpful. The location is quiet and a great get away while still being close enough to many things to do and places to eat. Would definitely stay again!

  • This was such a spectacular stay! My friend and I stayed for the weekend and loved everything the cottage had to offer. The cottage is very spacious, cozy, and has a great view for stargazing. The shower is small, but I did my research and read previous reviews so I knew it would be small prior to arriving. It is off the beaten path, so a perfect stay if you are looking to get away from civilization. There were also multiple attractions within a 15+ minute radius. Robin was very accommodating and made sure we had an amazing and comfortable stay. I highly recommend staying here!

    Andrea2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Coziness, quietness, nature (wildlife & surrounding). You feel at home, no WiFi makes you closer to the ones you traveled with. You find other things to do than live on devices! It’s very chilly so remember to walk with comfortable wear!! Enjoy!!

  • A quaint little cabin in the mountains. About the size of a tiny home but very nice.

    Nolan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was easy enough to get to, had all the amenities we needed to cook basic meals and the space was perfect for our schedule. The porch was dreamy and probably larger than the inside of the cabin! We had no problem with the driveway with our 2WD vehicles when we arrived -- it was lightly snowing! I appreciated the value of the cabin and the attention to details.

  • Fantastic cabin! Stayed the weekend here while skiing Sugar mountain. Had everything set up for us when we got there. Easier than we thought it would be to find. Beautiful cabin. Robin is a great host and I would happily stay here again!

  • Robin's cabin was great: clean, well-kept, and in a beautiful setting with plenty of privacy. Our group of four adults fit just fine, if any prospective guests wonder about that. We'd certainly stay again, and the next time I visit the area, this cabin will be at the top of my list.

  • Kate’s place is a wonderful little hide away in the mountains. The home is brand new and it is spacious. It provides wonderful views but bring sneakers or hiking boots that you don’t mind getting muddy! I also suggest that you do not try traversing the mountain or driveway without 4-wheel drive! Kate was quick to respond to communication and provided wonderful tips on where to eat and sights to see. Her place provides a wonderful rest from the world!!!

  • Sunshine’s place was perfect for our trip to Beech Mountain! My boyfriend and I and another couple went up for Valentine’s Day to ski at Beech Mountain resort and sunshine’s place was very conveniently located. It was just the kind of space we were looking for. There was plenty of space to come back after a long day of skiing and hang out with friends. Also, the bed was sooo comfortable! She even let our golden retriever join which made the place feel just like home! Thanks Sunshine :)
