Cabin vacation rentals in Rockbridge County

Betsy’s cabin is simply lovely—peaceful, comfortable, and squeaky clean. We spent six nights there (adult kids and elderly father), and none of us wanted to leave. We went to sleep with the rain pounding on the tin roof and woke to the sounds of wild turkeys nearby. The screened in porch was perfect for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, the kitchen had everything that we needed to cook big meals, and the beds were so comfortable. We took walks on the gravel road and hung out on the rocks by the river. Betsy went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. Wonderful place to spend the week!

I had a last minute stay at Kelly’s cabin, and it was so peaceful! The surroundings are beautiful and so wonderful to hear the rushing creek next to the cabin. The hot tub was a much needed respite from a very busy week! Beds are comfortable and the cabin is well laid out. I look forward to returning!

This place was wonderful! The air bnb is a very beautiful, unique and fun historical home! Janeen was very accommodating and very responsive! The air bnb is stocked with everything you could possibly need! The back porch over looking the river was my favorite spot! Very peaceful and serene! I loved this place and would definitely stay again.

My wife and I went to Janis's cabin for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary and if you want to get some peace and relaxation, this is the place. Beautiful veiws of the mountains as you sip you coffee on the front porch, hot tub to kick back in and relieve sore muscles after you go for a hike at a nearby park, and the cabin itself, will take you back in time. It was our first time visiting the Virginia mountains and Janis made us feel right at home. Definitely one of our favorite places and plan on going back. Thank you Janis, such a great time.

Where to start. Dee is such a kind woman. She was great in communication since before I even booked. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the host. My GPS told me to take a right when I got to the top. And between my stress and the rain, I didn't actually look up at the numbers, and ended up having to back down in reverse. But once I got my bearings straight, I was SO thankful to find it and see such a great cozy cabin. It rained the whole time I was there. I didnt get much of a view due to all the fog. But when it did show up, it was so great to see! For me, phone signal was completely out, so was thankful to the wifi. The cabin is built so well and sturdy. I was a little skeptical of the ladders, but learned to be okay with them. Everything essential was stocked in the house. Super clean. Linens smelt great. My only complaint was the downstairs shower head was horrible, but didnt want to dirty the other bathroom. Dee is hands down the best, and I appreciate the stay! 🖤

Beautiful spot, Sarah very responsive, nice to have a few waters, milk, coffee to start the stay. Very thoughtfully done. Driveway into property a little tricky to find after dark the first time there. Definitely would stay there again.

Had a great time! Not far from several towns. Close to the Otter Lake which is a great walk. The cabin was well-maintained, and had everything we needed.

Cabin was beautiful and exactly as the pictures. Created a wonderful memory of our son’s graduation

Beautiful location, quaint home, and responsive owner. One and only downside was that the fridge stopped working and we had to throw a lot of food away due to it spoiling. Owner offered to bring a new one out but, we were leaving soon after.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here! Jane provided detailed instructions, was quick to respond to messages, and was a very gracious host. As she mentions in the description, cell service is hard to get, but I did consistently have one bar on the second floor, and the wifi worked reasonably. For a spacious place that accommodates a large group (even littles), I highly recommend Jane’s cabin!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin! We loved the decor, cozy feeling, and the view from the front porch was absolutely stunning. We sat on the porch multiple times, and the only sounds we could hear were birds and the occasional moo from the cows in the pasture. The beds were comfy. The attention to detail is wonderful and we hope to return for a longer stay at some point.

Our son got married at Whistle Hollow Farm in Fairfield. We were very fortunate to find this lovely home in Vesuvius only 15 minutes from the venue. This home was absolutely perfect. The owner’s thought of everything. We absolutely loved our stay here. We highly recommend it if you’re looking for a top notch place in the area. You will not be disappointed! We even booked the rehearsal dinner 1 mile up the street at Gertie’s. Great food and staff, must go! Thank you Mountain Escape for an enjoyable stay. Fred & Melissa

This place was perfect. Not your typical airbnb. The place was squeaky clean, beautifully decorated and had everything you would need in higher end quality items. Loved our stay! Janet was so easy to communicate with and an excellent host!!

It is a lovely property. Serene, quiet & beautiful. The stream is lovely in front of the property! The grandkids caught so many crawdads each day, always returning them to the water. But they had so much fun doing it. We ended each day with smores by the fire. It's our second year in a row there & the kids couldn't wait to get back. Neither could we! Thanks Pete & Megan!

Visiting from Virginia Beach with our daughters, one at JMU and one at Virginia Tech, and with family from PA.  The fall color was gorgeous!  Enjoyed the lantern ghost tour and October illumination of the Natural Bridge. We had lunch at Natty B's Cafe and visited Cave Mountain Lake where we saw lot's of wildlife.  We loved the fire pit and everything about this cabin.  You have done an amazing job creating the perfect weekend get away spot.  Thank you!

Very cozy cabin, had some snow but manageable entry. Had the weekend here to celebrate an engagement and was everything I think we could have hoped for. Incredibly easy to have quiet but also get downtown (like 6 minutes) for a dinner out.

We had a great time staying at the cabin! If your family is outdoorsy this is the perfect place for you. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and cozy. They did a wonderful job thinking of everything you might need and decorating. There are walking trails on the property which we took advantage of. We played games, played corn hole, sat on the porch, took a drive on the parkway, and had many fires. The one thing I would say is make sure to take what groceries you need because it’s a far drive to the grocery store after you get there. This wasn’t a problem for us because we went into Lynchburg had lunch, hit a few shops, and then went to the grocery store. Great cabin we would definitely recommend staying here!

As always, Heather’s place is a wonderful and peaceful getaway. Felt right at home and she was always quick to help and answer questions. Have already happily referred her to friends. This place is one of a kind in Lexington. Thanks again from a repeat customer

Great place for a couple to stay, either for one night or a few nights! The place was secluded and cozy and made for a great way to take a break from reality and just enjoy the moment. Will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Amber’s. Amber was super responsive along the way. She gave clear instructions on how to get there and was provided a lot of helpful information. We will definitely be coming back!

“Heaven” is an accurate description! The cabin was amazing, even better than described. You really have to be there to understand the incredible beauty of the place. Beautiful surroundings and views, especially in the snow! The hosts are excellent, proactively communicating with us about important information related to the weather and road conditions. They were so gracious and welcoming in their communications that we felt right at home (home away from home)! The cabin is very clearly well-loved and well-cared for. The choices were so thoughtful (even down to things like bathroom faucets, cabinet pulls, colors, railings, and more). Every detail was taken care of. We had all we needed for a restful, relaxing vacation. The fireplace is a major highlight, but, again, everything about the cabin is special. Very grateful we had the chance to experience this place. Highly recommended! We can’t wait to visit again! Many thanks to Joyce and Jamie for an awesome experience.
